Plant maintainence -Functional Location

Dear PM Experts !
One generic question.
When we maintain the Equipment Masters from IE01.
We Define the Work center, Plant, Location.
Now in the Functional Masters in the Structure:
the equipment will be automatically populated.
Please suggest that whether we have to manually assign the Equipment to the functional Location
regards,
SAP

Hi
You have to install the equipment into Functional Location manually
Like
After creating a equipment -  go to structure tab. Where you wil find install struture - Install the Functional Location there.
In the equipment create / Change Window
Go to Structure in the tool bar - Select Change or install Funcational Location
In Spro
Plant Maintenance and Customer Service - Master Data in Plant Maintenance and Customer Service - Technical Objects - Equipment - Equipment Usage Period - Define Installation at Functional Location

    HI Gurus,
I wanted to identify whether there is any equipment is already created for a given material, plant and functional location. can you tell me how to findout?
    Thanks

    Hi
Check with respect to material and serial no : TCODE : IQ08 or IQ09
    Try in IH08
You can define material, plant and functional location

  • Extending the existing functional locations to a new plant?

    Hi Sapiens,
    The following is my concern:
Q1) I have a set of functional locations(roughly around 5000 records) assigned to say Plant A.
I would like to extend these existing functional locations to Plant B. I am not permitted to do this using LSMW. I should execute this operation in one shot.
    How to accomplish this?
Q2) After attaching all the functional locations to Plant B, i should replace the first 4 characters of the functional location structure with the Plant Code itself. Again not through an lsmw. How to accomplish this in one shot?
Please let me know the procedure of doing it with some guidelines.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Vijaya

    Hi
    1. You can extentd to the other plant with SCAT ,BDC etc
    2. But You can not replace the first four letters from the FL with the New plant code.Remember this is a master data

  • Can I do plant maintenance cost planning in functional location wise?

    Dear Experts,
My customer plans to prepare annual plant maintenance cost planning in "functional location" wise.
    Can this be done?
If yes, what are the steps?
    regards,
    Abraham

    Abraham,
You could do it indirectly in ECC using a cost centre for each FLoc. You can then plan the costs in the cost centre

  • Query on MCJC - MTTR/MTBR Functional Location report in Plant Maintenance

We have recently upgraded our SAP 4.7 system to mySAP ERP 2005 ecc6.0.
We are facing problem in report derived using tcode'MCJC' in Plant Maintenance. When we execute MCJC (MCJC - MTTR/MTBR Functional Location ) transaction, there is no data appearing in the report output. This report is used to get the functional locationwise data from maintenance order. The transactions are entered for creating maintenance order & notifications through IW31. This is getting updated in table s070.
This is a standard report and was working fine in SAP 4.7.

    Hello Mr Subrahmanyam,
When you are saying that the Equipment is in Breakdown, it may happen that the whols FLock could be considered in Break down, but not necessary,
say we take an Example of a Work Shop, where Mechanical Workshop is the Functional Location and it has N no of Equipments like Lath, Grinding m/c, Welding M/c, Shaper Etc.... in this case can you please tell me if only one of the above mentioned Equipment is under Break down can the Whole Mechanical Workshop be termed as under Shut down.
What you are saying is correct in the Line Production, where we can have the Predessing as well as the Succeding Equipments, there for the Critical Equipment you generally have a Back-up Equipment, may be possible the capacity of the Backup might not be same as the mail Equipment, but still it can serve the Purpose for the Time Being. in that condition how can you say that the whole FLock is in Breakdown.
Hope I am able to clarify.

  • Active Functional locations and equipmenst assigend to them for a plant -re

    Hi,
using which T code / table we can  download  the list of fucntional locations of a plant and which are active (no deletion flag set ) and the equipments assigned to them
tried with IH06 but needs some more inputs
    regards,
    Kiran

    Hi
I guess IH06 is a best option which displays the functional location, you can get the system or user status also.
You can use IL07 for functional to find outwhat are the details assigned to it like Notification / order / equipment etc... you can download the same to excel also.
Let me know is this what you require... Brief out your requirement

  • Creation of Work ceter based on Functional Location.

    Hi all, Greetings.
I have a query regarding creation of work center in PM. i m new to this module and this is my first implementation.
    The scenario is as follows.
Here there is one Plant and which i will be considering as maintenance plant as well as maintenance planning plant. i m planning to classify the technical objects based on both Functional location as well as Equipments. there are 8 functional locations and almost 10 to 20 equipments under each functional location. Can i create work center based on functional location if so i will have to create 8 work center or can i create 3 or 4 and consider 1 work center for 2 or 3 functional locations.
please help me on the same and correct me if i am wrong. i have no much knowledge on the same.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
    Thanks Seenu,
So i have to clasify based on Maintenance activity types. If there are activities like repair, shutdown, testing etc. then i will have to create work center based on that?
So i can create some activities like, Modification, Repair, standby, waiting etc and assign work center for each?
Here we are following 4 maintenance planning preventive, predictive, breakdown & shutdown so is it possible to make 4 work center according to those.
please correct me if i m wrong. i really have no much idea in this. any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

  • Fund center derivation based on functional location cost center

    Hi,
can anybody share the process to derive fund center based on cost center assigned to functional location/equipment of a plant maintenance order
    Thanks

    Hi Eli,
    Thanks for your response.
    Scenario is as follows:
Cost is booked to PM order & settles to cost centers. I don't have budget at PM order level. But will have budget in fund management for cost center. So whenever I book cost to PM order it should check budget available in fund center. Fund center should be derived from cost center assigned to functional location of PM Order
I have not used function module before for derivation. I have created a derivation rule based on functional module but there is no place to assign fund center in derivation rule. Please explain the process to derived fund center through PM order in above scenario.
    Thanks

  • "Functional Location Label"

    PM guru's
Please let me know what is the usage of FL label...I have activated labelling system and assigned few labels.... Can i restrict few FL by assigning the FL labels to the User Profiles of  the few of the users so that I can restrict the acess of few FL's to only limited no of user's..
Is there any way out other than this to have authorization restriction for FL's as all the FL's share the same Struct Indicator, maint plant, planning plant and planner group etc...

The first part of your query:
The primary significance of a FL label is the hierarchical representation of your larger Equipments or a Group of Equipments.
Then this helps in retrieving several queries at different levels of the Label.
The fundamentals of a FL are very easy to understand if you go through the PLM manuals or SAP help.
The second part of your query:
About restricting few users to handle selected Functional Locations.
This is very much possible. One method is through Planner Group. i.e., The Planner group you mention in the FL Master.
Exempt this particular Planner Group value in the INGRP field (I_INGRP authorisation object) of the concerned role assigned to that particular user. Your Roles & Authorisations specialists would be able to do this.
I hope you would be making use of this hint.

  • Functional location related to controlling area

    hai guys,
how to find the list of functional location with respect to controlling area.
    Regards,
    N.selvamuthukumar.

    Hello,
    1. Use the FM: BAPI_COAREA_GET_RELATED_CCODES to get the Company Codes Assigned to one Controlling Area.
    2. With the available CoCds go to table T001K and get the available plants (T001K-BWKEY).
    3. With the available plants use the FM: BAPI_FUNCLOC_GETLIST (tables: PLANPLANT_RA) to get the Functional Locations (tables: FUNCLOC_LIST).
    Hope this helps.

  • Functional location for the respective material and equipment in a report

i want to show the functional location for the respective material and equipment in a report designed for plant maintenace module..how should i add a field in the report which already contains the order , material and equipment no ?..just have to add a field  functional location in that report. Can anyone plzz tellme from which table should i fetch the data .?

From EQUI get the recent/valid EQUZ record.
From EQUZ get the ILOA record.
ILOA holds the TPLNR for the equipment.
And from ILOA you can get IFLOT.
edit: just noticed you can use V_EQUI as well.

  • Levels in a functional location structure

    Dear experts!
Please explain the purpose of having several levels in a PM structure.
I have made a structure like this: NNNN-SS-SSSSS-SSSSSSSS-SSSSSSSS
what would be better or worse if i made a structure like this :NNNN-SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Ahhh it would be nice with some adwise.
Exept for having all FL`s in one level i can't see anything wrong.
    anyone?

    HI
The Sole purpose of having several levels of Functional Location is to get the various data & reports at each level.
Suppose there is a company operating in multiple locations and each location they have multiple plants. In this case based upon your Floc structure you can get the Various Data / Reports at different levels .i.e (company , Location , manufacturing Plants etc )
By selecting company level Floc u2013 you can get  No. of equipment/reports of  total company.
By selecting location level Floc - you can get  No. of equipment/reports of one particular location.
By selecting Plant level Floc - you can get  No. of equipment/reports of of particular Plant itself .
