PM Budget Vs Planned Costs

Hi Freinds,
Is there a way to map Budget Vs Planned Costs for a PM Order? We know by Tcode:KO22 we can assign budget to a PM order against the actual costs.
Anybody can throw some light on how to map the planned costs against the Budget.I have checked in SPRO on internal order where
1. Budget profile is created for PM Order
2. Budget profile is assigned to PM order types.
So other than the above i couldnt get anything more to map the planned costs.
This is quite urgent. Please throw some light on this

Some additional information:
- after creating another PR with a different cost element, the costs are still not visible
- I'm purchasing a text material (no number) and i'm purchasing a service without a service master.
no idea if this has to do with it, but maybe it will help you

Exclude Planned Costs - Define Tolerance Limit - Budget Control

We are trying to customize our system in order to exclude the planned costs of the project of the budget availability control.
Example: If once I have budgeted and released the project I add a component to the project I do not want to any error message to appear. Error should only appear once I generated the Purchase Requisition for an amount superior to the WBSE budget.
We have been trying with the customizing point "Define Tolerance Limit", trying with different combination of the Activities Groups but we haven't succeed.
Has anybody tried this before? Could anybody give me a hint?

The moment you save the project (after making changes to your project, say, adding new component), system will check against the budget (since AVAC is already active).
We are trying to customize our system in order to exclude the planned costs of the project of the budget availability control.
We have been trying with the customizing point "Define Tolerance Limit", trying with different combination of the Activities Groups but we haven't succeed.
This is not possible.
As an alternative, what you can do it, before adding the new component to the project activity, you need to update your budget (suppliment) with the expected cost of the componet you are adding. This way, you can avoid this error.

Hi,
You mean to say in CJ40 not in CJ30.
Step 1: Go to PRPS Table and enter the WBSE and get the OBJNR no.
Step 2:Pass the OBJNR in RPSCO and you can get the planned cost value.Note WRTTP should be 1.

Diff bet Budgetted cost & Planned Cost

I created a project with Planned cost of Rs 1000 & then i budgtted amt of Rs 800 against it.But when in cj20n I generate any Purchase requisition against it System gives Error as Error in commitment items.Is always we hv to budget the same amt as in planned cost ?

Planned Costs are not binding but budgets are. You usually do planning first and then refer them to do you budgeting. Commitment check happens on Budget Values.
You can transfer the plan values into budget, you can do this either in CJ40 using Copy View option (copy plan costs) else use IMCCP3.
IMCCP3 is basically used for IM related planning and budgeting but it still works for copying the plan values as budgets.

Hi All,
Can you please adviseme which content i need to activate to get the Actaul, Plan cost and the Budget Data in SAP BW.
Do i need to exploer CCA cubes or Fund managment Cubes.. Please let me know... I need to know the Tables in R/3 Side for budget data to make sure that in R/3 we have budget data..

CO-PA Planning Costs(Budget) in SAP R/3

Hi All,
I am in the process of devloping the report of Cost per Cost Center.
I found the data source(CO_OM_CCA_9)for actual costs per cost element.
But i did not find the data source for Planning costs with respect to cost element.
I need the information of the souce table(CO-PA) which contains the planning data with respect to cost element.

the data source CC_7 does not provide the planning data with respect to Cost elements, it gives with respect to cost center.
CC_1 and CC_9 both are providing the actuals.
but the tables CE* are giving some meaningful information to me.
I found the solution for my problem(with the help of CO consultant).
Planning data is available in COEP & COEJ tables
COEP - with respect to Fiscal year period
COEJ - with respect to Fiscal year.

Report for extracting the actual and planned cost from service orders

HI all
we are creating a report in BI for Module - Customer service . LIke , the report is all about how many complaints created in the system and how many completed technically and what is the cost involved for each complaint .
Like we want the comparision between the planned cost and the actual cost .
Now to give the logic to the BI Team for planned cost and actual cost , please suggest the flow of logic or table flow to arrive the planned and actual cost

Hi Marthand,
I am not sure which datasource your are using. In this case, you can use the 0VALUETYPE to differencitae between th eplan and actuals. Normally Plan which is budget will have value 050 and for actuals will have 010. For costs, you will have one key figure and at the reporting level, you will have the costs restricted by the value type for plan and actual to make comparisons.

Order plan cost not appearing in PS report.

Dear PS friends,
I have an issue in order plan cost updation ( budget report ).
Used the prescribed WBS in maintenance order ( additional data ), but its not appearing in planned cost of CJ31 screen.
Checked the following
a) WBS is account assignment element.
b) Network type order appended indicator in OPSV.
c) Setting in network type parameters for " determine plan
cost".
d) WBS and order - both are showing plan cost when booked separately, but not integrated.
Can anybody help me to resolve this !

Hi,
In case of the maintenance order (Order Category:30)
Please check the follwoing in Tcode OPSV:
1. type is maintained default i.e ++++ (this will consider all the order types mantioned for maintenance order.
2. Please selelct the appropriate controlling area.
3. Appended plan indicator has to be checked mark,
4. Assigned funds in the plan indicator has to be checked mark,
5. In Tcode IW32: In the additional data Tab assign the WBS Element. Save the maintenance order.

Project Plan cost report - not showing any output.

Dear Experts,
I have created several projects and done the planning. I have used work centers and activity types for manpower cost planning. Also created some PRs against the project.
When I goto the network activities and select the line item in the menu path Edit - costs - Planned/Actual - cost planned /actual
It shows me the planned cost of the activity correctly.
But when I am running the report CJI4, it shows nothing. The report is not at all executing.
I dont understand why it's \not showing.
I have checked the control key PS01 for the cost field is enabled (tick available on the cost friled)
Can any one please help me??

1) Please check that the WBS element is integrated in plan, and the plan integration is fully activated in the project.
2) Plan line items are only written in certain cases.
The following rules are valid:
1. Plan line items can be written in
a) structure-oriented cost planning CJ40 (total values, annual values),
b) cost planning on orders KO12,
c) unit costing independent of cost elements,
d) structure-oriented revenue planning CJ42 (total values, annual values)
e) structure-oriented financial budgeting CJ48 (total values, annual values, period values)
f) primary cost planning,
g) activity planning,
h) revenue element planning.
2. Plan line items are never written in
a) Unit costing on cost element level
b) Network costing
3. Line items are only written if a user status permits the business transaction 'Write plan line items' explicitly.
Exception:
For plan-integrated WBS elements and orders, line items are written in cost-element oriented planning if integrated corporate planning is activated in the fiscal-year parameters of the respective plan version, regardless of the user status.
4. Plan line items for structure-oriented planning can only be displayed in the respective planning transaction under menu option "Extras-->Line items".

Is it possible to send Planned Cost (MSP Column = Cost) for resources (Financial Elements) from Microsoft Projects to oracle Projects for a Fully Shared Structures?

If you are using Rate Schedule then in MSP planned the Hours or Quantity against the Resources then send back the Data to Oracle Projects. System will calculate your Planned Cost using your Hours and Rate Schedule under Workplan Resources. And using your Workplan budget you can always create Financial Budget.

How to capture planned cost

Dear experts ,
please help me in the following scenario.
At one of our location we have PP-PS scenario. production order is made for production in PP module.
in that location mostly JOB production is done, there about 30 % of the total cost of equipment is given to outside contractors. our problem is how to capture that cost in budget ( WBS system is being followed ) in PO WBS is assigned. we have created an activity and rate is maintained in KP26 for that activity so that planned cost is arrived at ( we have to capture the planned cost in production order) , our problem is in WBS amount is coming twice
1)as remaining order plan in WBS and the available budget amount is getting reduced
2) when the SR is made again the same amount is appearing in the commitment in WBS.and the available budget amount is reduced once again
our requirement is budget what is to be done so that budget amount is not reduced twice , we also want to capture the planned cost in production order.

HI,
Inorder to get all the actual costs on activity which is actually on WBS. You can do an enhancement. This enhancement should find the all POs against PR which belongs to an activity and will repost the costs that is being posted on WBS on GR to the concerned activity.

Hello Harsh,
The planned cost and Revenues can be changed during any phase of the project. As far as monitoring goes you can create versions (snap shots) each time when you change the planning. You can use s_alr reports to compare 2 different versions.
On costing side you can use supplement budget or return functionality. You can use tcode CJ3A or CJ3B to chk the Budget document.

Ok...those are not strange values...what u see in x-axis are project objects....if u count no.of project objects including project definition in CN41 screen it will equal the number in x-axis....say if u have 3 WBSE under 1 Project...then total project objects are 4 including PD...then when u see the graph it will show 1,2,3,4 in x-axis....those numbers are project objects.
If u want to see periods in x-axis....then select a particular WBSE or PD), then click Goto>period breakdown...it will take u to new screen where u will have Periods in LHS and Plan cost, Actual costs, Budget etc., in RHS...then click on any column say Actual cost then goto>Graphic>Period Breakdown....U will see period in x-axis and Actual cost in Y-axis...This is wat generally known as S-Curve.

Planned Cost - Reporting

I'm using the BC Cube 0CCA_C11 to build a basic budget report. I've built a query that gives me most of the things I needs. I filter by controlling area, cost centre, fiscal period and financial year and version. In my report I have Planned Costs. These are for the whole financial year. How do I build something in the query that shows just the planned costs for the period I have run the report for e.g. if the budget for a cost element is £100 per annum I want the report to show £50 if I run it for periods 1 to 6. Bearing in mind that it isn't always a 1 to 12 split and the budget profile impacts upon the distribution of the budget through the year.
