Exclude Planned Costs - Define Tolerance Limit - Budget Control

Hi,
We are trying to customize our system in order to exclude the planned costs of the project of the budget availability control.
Example: If once I have budgeted and released the project I add a component to the project I do not want to any error message to appear. Error should only appear once I generated the Purchase Requisition for an amount superior to the WBSE budget.
We have been trying with the customizing point "Define Tolerance Limit", trying with different combination of the Activities Groups but we haven't succeed.
Has anybody tried this before? Could anybody give me a hint?

Hi,
The moment you save the project (after making changes to your project, say, adding new component), system will check against the budget (since AVAC is already active).
We are trying to customize our system in order to exclude the planned costs of the project of the budget availability control.
We have been trying with the customizing point "Define Tolerance Limit", trying with different combination of the Activities Groups but we haven't succeed.
This is not possible.
As an alternative, what you can do it, before adding the new component to the project activity, you need to update your budget (suppliment) with the expected cost of the componet you are adding. This way, you can avoid this error.

    Hi,
    Normally, not for all G/Ls you have to manage budget. For example, for most of the balnce sheets it's usually not required by business needs. So, certain balance sheet accounts could be linked to special commitment item, which will be defined with financial transaction 50, and will imply no FM document. Though, you have to keep in mind, that with activation of FM, every financial movement would require an assignment to FM object, never mind if it will create FM document and the budget will be controlled or not.

  • Tolerance Limit on a GL

    Dear Gurus,
                 I want to restrict a GL to a certain amount so that amount more than that should not be entered or give error message.For Ex. Say My  GL a/c is 40004000 and I want amount more than Rs 100 should not be entered or give error message while making data entry .Should I create a validation for this or do some configuration ( Tolerance Limit in control tab of GL master) .Please guide.

                      Thanks for reply.I created a tolerance group say (TOLT) in OBA0 . I put amount in both debit and credit as 100.00 with % field blank . Then in GL master I put this tolerance group OBA0 in one single GL .so that GL will give error for amount exceed Rs 100.00 . But in FB50 , against that GL it is allowing amount more than 100 . So please guide me where I am wrong and how should I restrict one single GL for exceeding amount Rs 100.

  • Budget controle and the field Overall Limit in a PO

    When we are making a budget from 50.000 in CO and creating a PO for 100 then in the the PO tab Limits you see Expected value 100.
    When you fill in the field overall Limit 100.000. It is possible to post a value from 100.000 even when the budget in conrolling is 50.000.  How we can set it up that this is no longer possible.

    You have to Define Tolerance limits for your  budget profile and activate the availability control in KO30. Please see the below path for define tolerance.
    Controlling -
    >Internal Orders--->Budgeting and Availability Control-->Define Tolerance Limits for Availability Control.

  • The Tolerance limit for type "1" not running in Av. Control

    In my project I am unable to see the effect of Warning on budget even though Activation type 1 with tolerance limit "1" is activated for 50% of budget.
    The actual cost are posted by MB1A against reservation to the activity and material reservations are created.
    Although when the costs exceed more than 50% the system status shows BUDG ISBD AVAC for the said WBS.
    System does give the error on reaching 100% level of cost i.e. no "3" tolerance limit is successfully running.
    A reply /suggestions shall be appreciated.

    Dear Friends,
    SAP has provision of entering budgets for cost centers. But whether it will have budget control or not.
    I have checked but there is no control.
    Please advise that it is having real budget control or not.

    hi Rajesh,
    as far as I know, there is no real budget control. You only enter plan values and you see in reporting if you spent more (or less) than the planned 'budget' but that is all.
    There is real budget control in PS for example.

    i am running the below transactions,
    S_ALR_87013558 - Budget/Actual/Commt
    S_ALR_87013560 – Execute Budget Updates
    S_ALR_87013533 – Plan/Actual/Commt
    Now my Job is to extract the Data out of these reports,
    now since there are so many Finance costs are there , and most of them are being calculated , it's though to get correct Table Logics.
    Also debugging the whole standard transactions seems to be impossible,
    I tired fetching the report Data using ALV Extraction , but due to fact that ALV is disabled in standard code, i can not, fetching from Spool is also not feasible due to Performance issue.
    Also since PS Module interacts with every Other Modules so installing BI Content is also not feasible to me,
    Now , can anyone please help to understand , how to fetch data from these reports.
    i have already seen so many posts with same problems, but none were able to solve it.
    i would love to go with the Table Logic Approach, can you please help me.

    You could try to extract yourself the data
    Use logical database PSJ or report RKPSEL00 + variant to generate list of objects in project hierarchy
    Read CO Total table (e.g. COSS, COSP) or FM (e.g. K_COSSA_READ_MULTI, K_COSPA_READ_MULTI)  to access cost for those objects, field WRTTP identify cost type. (actual, commited, budget, etc.)

  • Beginning Balance of Accumulated Repair Cost and  Budget Control

    Hi All,
    My client has two requirements which I have problems working on in SAP.
    1. How do we put the beginning balance of accumulated repair cost of each equipment? Example Equipment A had $ 40, 000 worth of repairs prior to the company's use of SAP, and this balance becomes the initial balance during repair cost reporting (thus if the first work order issued for that equipment in the SAP system costs $5,000, accumulated cost in cost analysis shatll be $45, 000 alread) .
    2. How do we implement budget control in Plant Maintenance, such that a work order that is over budget cannot be released? or needs to be approved by another more superior user before release?

    I suspect the only way to do this without Asset Accounting is to create a bespoke ABAP report. You would also need a customer table to hold the repair cost/equipment data. Alternatively, if you have a cost object per equipment (say cost centre) then you could add this value to the cost centre. Either way I would discuss the issue with you finance team first.
    In terms of budgetting; this can be done 3 ways:
    - Investment programs (IM)
    - Projects and WBS (PS)
    - Individual maintenance orders (PM)
    You can set threshold parameters which determine if the order can be released..

    You mean to say in CJ40 not in CJ30.
    Step 1: Go to PRPS Table and enter the WBSE and get the OBJNR no.
    Step 2:Pass the OBJNR in RPSCO and you can get the planned cost value.Note WRTTP should be 1.

    Budget control is one part of Project System.  Normally we have two types of Budgets one Budget for CAPEX and Budget for Over Head expnes.  Max companies PS will take care by the Budgets.  If u need any information let me know.

    I created a project with Planned cost of Rs 1000 & then i budgtted amt of Rs 800 against it.But when in cj20n I generate any Purchase requisition against it System gives Error as Error in commitment items.Is always we hv to budget the same amt as in planned cost ?

    Planned Costs are not binding but budgets are. You usually do planning first and then refer them to do you budgeting. Commitment check happens on Budget Values.
    You can transfer the plan values into budget, you can do this either in CJ40 using Copy View option (copy plan costs) else use IMCCP3.
    IMCCP3 is basically used for IM related planning and budgeting but it still works for copying the plan values as budgets.
