PO release based on Classification

Dear Experts,
Hi experts,
Our team has configured PO release procedure, in that they used Order type(BSART) and Material Group (MATKL) as the characteristics for the Class that is used for that group. FYI in the system there is only one Release group and two release strategies, For both strategies document types are common. First strategy contains the Material groups starting from "0001"  to "0075" and second strategy contains material group from "0076" to 0086" which are capital goods. As the client requires that capital goods need to be approved by 4 levels instead of 2 levels as in case of normal material group.
Now my question is whenever we make a PO which consist of the materials of same group then onnly release strategy is attaching to it, i.e. all materials in PO should be of same material group. If atleast one material has different group then release strategy is not attaching. How to tackle this type of situation??

Lakshminath Gunda

Hi,
We have used "ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST"
Can't give you the exact code now, but logic is built like below -
Tcode - ME21N
If PO DocType E ZPO1
If Comp code E 1000
Then check Material group - Purchase group combination in ZMMT_MGPGR (We maintained the linkage in external Table)
If  MtrlGrp & PurGrp combination matches in ZMMT_MGPGR then only system allows to proceed further else gives error "enter Correct Purchase Group".
You can trigger check this on ENTER key OR while checking / saving the PO.
So, now user can not create PO with different material group in a single PO. So in ur case for capital items he can only choose from capital item materials group. And so ur release strategy will trigger based on that material groups.
Hope this will solve your problem.

Rakesh

  • Release Procedure without Classification

    Hi Experts,
i have create a release strategy for the release procedure without classification, which PR document type i use for this? NB?
Do i need to assign a PR document to this release procedure?
    Thanks

    Hi Chun,
You can not use one release strategy with classification and one more without classification at a time in the system. Only one will work.
For your case, already you have Overall release, and I suggest you go for second class with Itemwise release. With classification, it's possible to use two release strategies at a time based on the document type. ("Overall Release " check box for document type)

  • Permits based on classification.

    HI PM Gurus,
I am new to SAP PM Module.
I am not able to determine permits based on classification in maintenance oder automatically. Can anyone guide me step by step process to do it. I have created characteristic as PM-order type and i have assigned table as : CSEVPERMIT and field as AUART in additional tab of characteristic, but still i am not getting this permit in order.
    Please guide.
    Thanks in advance.
    Kailash

    Hi,
The permits are automatically getting assigned based on order type bcoz .. the characteristic mentioned in permit is a reference characteristic which checks the sturcuture -CSEVPERMIT, Field :- AUART -order type , in value of characteristic - if it is given as PM01 then when PM01 Order type is created this permit gets assigned , similarly if u give PM02 , When this order type is created - that respective permit has PM02 as its classification -characteristic value gets assigned ..thus in this way permits get automatically assigned based on its classification value .., similarly for assigned based on planned costs, actual costs, maintenance activity type .., in IPMD if u put Order release option as 02 -> Must be issued else error message then u have to issue the permit before relese of that order , similarly u have option for doing it mandatory for TECO also ..
    From SAP Help:-
    Permits can be :
Calculated automatically by the system using class selection and then assigned
For this, the permits in your system must:
Belong to a permit group, to which a class of class type 049 has been assigned
Have been classified using the class characteristics
These characteristics must have been assigned for this using the additional data for structure CSEVPERMIT.
The system automatically determines these permits. It compares the order data with the characteristic features of the classified permits available in the system. Permits, for which the data matches, are assigned automatically to the order.

  • Creating Roles for Purchase Req. release strategy with classification

    Hi friends,
Since I have created Purchase req rel strategy where I have four release strategy
    1. For Plant 1 When value <= 5000 (Officer) will release , release code 01 release release strategy r1 and rel code L1
2 For Plant 1 When value >= 5000 (Manager) will release , release code 01 release release strategy r2and rel code L2
Now the manager will have 2 release code,if  officer is absent he could release the requisition.
Same has to be done for plant 2
The release Group and code needs to be assigned to the Roles , could anybody tell  me  where i could know about roles and will be able to create roles and assign authorisation objects to the Roles , and release group and code to the enduser.
though its a basis job , since I have no idea , I mean I have never worked with Roles ,as now I have created the Release strategy with classification I need to assign authorisation objects to the Roles as I have four release strategy
    1. For Plant 1 lower value of requisition 1 codeL1(Officer)
2  For higher value of requisition 2 code say Li and L2(Manager)
Manager should have 2 codes if  officer is absent he could release
Same has to be done for Plant 2
    Thanks N Regards
    Siddhartha

    Hii,
    Steps:
    1) Create a Role
    2) Add the authorization Object  M_EINK_FRG by taking the manual option
    3) Assign Release Code and Release Grp
    4) Assign the Role to the User ID which has the authorization of the Release Code and Grp.

  • Tranposrt - Purchase Requisition Release Strategy with Classification

    Gurus!
Tell me if I want to Transport the Purchase Requisition release strategy with classification. The Data in each charisteristics in each PR Strategy that I have set in Dev is not getting transported to Quality.
Do I have to enter the data in characteristics again in Quality and the same procedure I have to apply for Production.
If yes, in this scenario, Can I make Production modifiable.
    Regards
    Sajid

    Hello,
Create a special ID in PRD with access to change characteristics. This ID should be released for specific purposes and with approval (project manager/SAP support manager). You can also turn on auditing so that all activites performed are logged which can be used to satify auditors.
    Cheers !

  • PR release strategy with classification

As part of a rollout, we are migrating an instance of SAP to the template SAP. Both the SAP instances are following u2018PR release strategy with classificationu2019.
The limitation is that I can configure only two release group in PR release strategy with classification. One for overall release and one at item level release. Also, I cannot assign two different release class for the same release group. If I add additional characteristics in the existing class and keep other irrelevant characteristics as blank the release strategy doesnu2019t works. the release strategy does not triggers.
Any pointers to solve this will be highly appreciated.

    Hi Ashish,
If your requirement is to have release strategy with more or different characteristics than in the existing system, you may create a new release group and assign the same to release class. There no restriction for having multiple release groups for same release class. Then create new release strategies for the newly created release group and so on.

  • Release Strategy With Classification

    Hey All,
I would like to get some information about release strategy with classification for purchase requisation and purchase order.
Please send me some information  regarding this.
    Thanks
    Kawal

    hi,
To see the all the linkages firstly see the classifcation and class defined in the sap system at:
SAP easy access --> Cross application components --> classification system --> master data --> characteristics and classes(CT04 and CL02)...
    TO see the customisation, check:
Spro --> MM --> Purchasing --> PO/PR etc --> Release procedure --> Rel procedure with classification --> Here check for all the different transactions...like Relase codes, release stategy, access sequence, schema etc...
Also one important point abt it is:
PR is possible to release at header as well as at item level...
But PO and other external docs are only possible to release at header level only...
In the customisation check all the linkages you will get best out of it....

  • PFTC, container tab, getting 'Release codes' without classifi !!!!

    Hello,
I am settingup workflow for pur/req.
After making MMsettings in MM-config(MM > Purchasing > PR > Release Procedure > With Classification > Set Up Procedure, --Workflow.
Now I have made settings SWETYPV and SWDD and it automatically bring the task against WS20000077.
But do I need to activate it?
In PFTC, container tab, it is only getting 'Release codes' without classification (which we are not using).
In SWDD also (after pressing Test icon) I am getting 'Release codes without classification.
I don't know why it is not picking 'Release codes with classification'. However it is picking correct release codes in Pur/req header.
Can you please put some light on it.
    Many thanks.
    JAT

    Hello !
Purchase requisition release procedures for "with classification" and "without classification" are mutually exclusive.
I think, release procedures for "with classification" and "without classification" are configured in your system.
So, deleting the configuration for release procedures for "without classification" will help you to accomplish the requirement.

  • P.O release based on WBS

    Hi,
As we are a construction company we have many sites in chennai and all over india. now our company has decided if a site dose a p.o with their usrename only that site with their user name should release it. If other site try to release it then they should get a message as you are not authorised. And at the same time a key user who is authorised to release all the project should only be allowed to release all the project.
For this we have decided to go with WBS element. As each site has different WBS element. So is there any user exit program for P.O released based on WBS element. And our Basis consultant has created a user name who is aouthorised to release only P.O raised with that WBS element. But my pgm is working.
I got a exit from net for this purpose which is M06E0004. and coding whcih i developed is as follows. But this not solving my problem. And as i am new to this ABAP filed could any help me out with exit and correct code or even if you couls correct the below code whcih will help me.

  • Release Strategy without Classification VS with Classification

Can you have a strategy based on with classification and another one without classification in the same client.
    Thank you.

    Hi
You can have either of the One active in a system
If you have activated RS without Classification, all the PR's will be subject to Release Process..
If you now activated RS with Classification then this will Not work as the sytem has already found a RS wothut classification & not depebndent on any charcterisitics.
So you can use only one of the Combination.
This is applicable to only Purchase requsitions.
For Purchase orders & othe Documents you will have only with Classification.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Release procedure with classification not getting triggered

    Hi,
I have configured the new release procedure for the PR release of type with classification, but its not getting triggered. Earlier my SAP system had without classification in place, but I wanted to have with classification. Can any one suggest how do I switch between two.
Ideally once I create the release group in with classification procedure that procedure gets activated and gets triggered. Unfortunately its not happening in my case. I tried deleting the entries from the without classification side too, but still it doesnt respond. Is there in patch or note missing.
Your suggestion would be highly appreciated.
    sachin

    Hi Jurgen,
I am configuring it for PR and with classification method. Well for simplification I am using just purchase group as characteristics, but still its not working. Earlier system had without classification in place, as its there in a default system and used to get triggered. When I created new procedure its not getting triggered. To be assured I deleted the data from witout classification, but still its not working.
Where as I did the same setting for PO, its working and giving me correct releaes strategy.
My characteristic is PRGRP using the communication structure CEBAN and field as EKGRP
    Please suggest me on this.

  • PO release based on CUMULATIVE VALUE

    Hi Experts,
I have a scenario to map. Client requirement is to have a release strategy based on the CUMULATIVE VALUE of the Purchase Orders.
CUMULATIVE VALUE would mean accumulation of PO value till current PO & not the individual PO value.
    Based on CUMULATIVE VALUE u2013 3 executives are required to release i.e Manger (<1 million), Manager + General Manager (> 1 & < 10 Million) & Manager + General Manager + VP (> 10 Million)
Please advise any possible solution for the same. Thanks.

    Hi,
I guess you should dig deeper in the business need.
What is the need or the usage of releasing a lot(bunch) of PO's. Releasing of PO's are done to keep a control on the PO's being raised by users to a particular vendor or their capacity(limit).
If a bunch of PO's is sent for release, do you think it will be serving the purpose. I think the business requirement s well as usage should be looked into once again.

    HI,
For this you have to create one characteristic for material groupand that characteristic in additional data view you have to maintain table and field as( CEKKO,MATKL) .and in values tab you have to given your all material groups .
After that your  characteristic to be assign to your class.
    thanking you.

  • Production order release based on operation

    Hi friends
How to release production order based on operations ?
    pl help me

    Hi
The real time scenario is to select release operation wise is:
If you are expecting any change in the subsequent operations after starting of production  say first opration, you will opt for this .
I do not find any advantage if you release all operations at a time in mass processing. It is as goods as releasing at header level.
Normally in such cases one can opt for  trigger points in which system will release successive oprations automatically when preceding operation is confirmed.
If you want manually release the operations you can select the operation which you want release & press release button in operation overview screen.
    Hope it is clear now.

  • Pick release based on supply

I want the pick release of items to happen not on the basis of how much stock is actually present in the warehouse, but on the basis of supply to that warehouse. I mean, my client wants that the line should not be backordered when he does a pick release on Friday evening even if the item doesn't exist in that inventory.Instead, the line should proceed to form a delivery based on the assumption that the stock in that warehouse would get replenished on Saturday morning. Is it possible to map this in Apps?
Second query: If this is possible, then is it possible to get the lines to a backordered status in case the items do not arrive on Saturday morning(the timeline will be defined). This, obviously has to be a customization; any pointers would he helpful.

A pick release will only ever happen on the basis of available stock and I can't personally think of any customisations or workarounds to get you past that ...
However, dependent on the volume of picks you have, have you considered manually forming the lines into deliveries prior to the arrival of the stock? You can select all of the delivery detail lines for which you expect to receive stock on an order-by-order or customer-by-customer and scheduled ship date basis and mass assign/create deliveries prior to picking. Then on Saturday morning, after receiving the expected stock into your warehouse, you can pick release at the delivery level. Lines for which you have received stock will get pick released, those for which you have not will be both backordered and unassigned from the delivery.

    Jon
