Possible to have dynamic number of subviews?

Hi,
I am writing a blogging application, with JSF, which allows unlimited nesting of comments. The structure of my Comment bean is like this:
class Comment
List replies; //list of Comments
Therefore, I need to use recursion to display the comments with all their replies. As I don't want to create a custom tag, I decided to do recursion by using dynamic includes. Thus, every comment will be displayed in its own dynamically included page.
However, I've run into a problem as each dynamic include needs to be enclosed in <f:subview> tags, and f:subview ids must be statically defined and must be unique. Is there a workaround for this problem?

There is a list box which a list of values like 'State', 'City', etc.
When the user chooses a value in the list box, based on the value chosen say 'City', I should display a list of Cities. The user should then be allowed to choose 1 and only city from the list.
Is it possible to have list of radio buttons such that there is 1 radio button for each city and the user can then choose any one of the radio buttons ?
In this case the number of cities and what those cities are is unknown. So I need to have a dynamically changing list of radio buttons. Is this possible ?
Version of forms : Forms 6.0.5.

You can create a lot of radio buttons and hide|display them in runtime. It is more suitable i think to use the t-list instead of radio.

How to have dynamic number of items uploaded using LSMW

Hello Experts,
I have a requirement where i need to upload the data for quality notifications. One Quality notification can have any number of items. i.e. One Quality notification can have 3 items and the other can have 2.
I have got an excel sheet containing data for 1000 notifications. I need to upload it using LSMW - BDC Recording method.
My question is that if i record the process for 2 items in a Notification, the BDC will always process only 2 items for every notification. How to make this processing dynamic so that any number of items can be uploaded.
Please help.

hi
according to me, once a recording is being done for some fields, you can not add fields to it. To add fields after recording, do a new recording, where give values to all fields. Ofcourse, for mandatory fields you ought to give values, other than that for optional fields, give some stsandard or common value. So that you can update it next time when you need it after recording is being done.

Possible to have dynamic default selections for a dashboard prompt?

I'm running OBIEE 11.1.1.6.5, and I have customer who would like to know if it is possible to dynamically select default values on a dashboard prompt based upon other user prompted columns on the same prompt. For example, I built a dashboard prompt with three fields: Month, Customer, and Product; and I want to add a default selection to my Products prompt to pick the "top 4 products" based on the selected Month and Customer.. assuming every Customer+Month has a different "top 4 products".
Does anyone please have a suggestion on how I could approach this solution?

Thank you for your response. I've tested this approach and it seems promising. My concern I have there is how to treat "(All Choices)" values. Say the user selects All Choices on customer or period, and the presentation value in my SQL Results query reverts to whatever default value specified, which is not the intended behavior. My question then becomes how do I treat the null or All Choices and somehow omit the filter criteria or specify fy All Choices as a default to the presentation variable? Your advice is much appreciated.

Possible to have dynamic content in a Single edition app?

Here is the scoop. I am designing a program for a local stage play. I am doing the program in inDesign because inDesign is awesome.
Equally awesome is the DPS: Single edition.
However, I would like to have more dynamic features in the DPS version that change quite regularily:

Other information from a data feed
anything else I can think of to make it more of an app than a digital copy of the program. I can simply do a PDF version for a static download. But I want something to make downloading appealing ... (open to ideas as to what kind of stuff can be done)
I guess another question would be does it have to be uploaded to the app store or can it be provided to users directly for download from a website?

You can sync content from up to five iTunes Store accounts to any given computer or device. You just will each have to copy the content into your own libraries so you can sync to your devices and have your devices authorized to all applicable accounts.

Hey Boxman, I'm guessing lack of interest. Think about it, once the novelty wears thin, just how much time would or do you really spend looking at your home page? Me personally, just enough to find the app I need and push the button. Besides, isn't the battery life on your iPod short enough for you? Dynamic backgrounds are one of the first things you turn off to conserve battery life! That said, it would be kinda cool, for a little while anyway. My array field doesn't scroll (lucky me!). See if the AfterFieldScrolled
event fires at the right time to recalculate the widget state. I haven't
played with it and I'm far from a Forte GUI guru, but I suspect that you are
altering the column template and the visible widget is separate from the
data. So as you scroll, the data would scroll but the new settings stay
put. That's not what I would want/need. The widget reflects something
about the data. When the data scrolls, so should the presentation
properties!
What may be needed is to somehow derive the presentation state settings
dynamically from the mapped data. So when the data scrolled, the dynamic
settings change on the new presentation row.
Let me know.....

One way to do this is to get at the specific dropList widget in the
arrayField by calling the getChildInCell(Row,Column) method on
<..theArrayField..>.BodyGrid. This widget can then be assigned any
dropList you want. Depending on the uniqueness of the individual
dropLists, each data row specific dropList can be coded as an attribute
(array of ListElement) on the mapped class, which can then be assigned
to the dropList widget.
A code snippet to do this would be -

Xy graph with dynamic number of plots

I've got an XY Graph with some dynamic number of plots to graph. Once I know this number, I change the LegPlots property and plot the data from an array containing all the plots. The data is displayed correctly, but I get overlapping colors. Say I'm only trying to graph 3 plots. I get three lines (good) but then the three lines have 29 colors (bad), as if it's plotting all possible plots at the data points of the three. The legend updates to only show three (good), but am I missing something else? Does the LegPlot property not govern that, but only governs the legend itself?

If the problem is the code then I'll take a look at my mess of wire, I just wanted to see if it was the LegPlots property first.

Hello. It of course is possible in Adobe.
You need to write a simple script using JavaScript or FormCalc to hide or show columns according to some special value. You will work with the presence attribute of the object. E.g. MYFIELD.presence = "visible" or "hidden" or "invisible". You will need to change your subforms content to flowed.

i have a problem concerning the creation of a dynamic report with the BI publisher.
in my BI template i need a table with a dynamic number of columns. i have searched the
forums but havent really found a solution for this type of problem.
first of all this is A dummy-structure of my dataset:

in the report the fields represent the columns i need in the table.
the problem is, that the number of the fields vary. in this example i have 4 fields/columns
but another time i may have 6 or 10 etc..
my dataset is always different because i am loading my dataset via a http request which is
returning the needed data in XML.
is there a nativ possibility within the publisher to generate the columns dynamically?
i read about <?split-column-header:group element name?> etc. but this is only for cross-tables.
can anybody give me a hint how to approach this problem?
