Pre-Order deposit did not count

I pre-ordered Destiny when it came out. I put down a $15 deposit. When I went to pick it up, I was asked by the cashier if I wanted to use my two $5 reward certificates. I said yes. When she was checking me out I saw the price on the pad list as $39.xx. I swiped my card and the price had changed to $54.xx. when I asked the cashier why did it do that she said it was normal and I would actually only be charged $39.xx as opposed to the $54.xx. I recently just received my statement and it shows I actually paid $54. When I went MyBestBuy to check to see if my reward certificates had been applied and they were. I am wondering why I was charged extra when I should only paid about $40. This actually means to me that I paid $80.00 for 1 game if I include the $15 deposit plus the two $5 certificates along with the $54 I actually paid. I would like to know how I can get this corrected.

I’ll be honest with you.  I’m clueless when it comes to anything regarding gaming; however, I am the one who buys my little brother all the new games that come out for his PS4 console, and goodness knows that I make sure I’m getting the best price possible whenever I can.  I certainly wouldn’t be happy if I was overcharged at the register, so I understand why you’d want to make sure you aren’t being double billed for your purchase.
Using your email address attached  to your forum account, I pulled up your Destiny purchase and I do see something that doesn’t quite add up as it should.  At the time of purchase, the game was $59.99. On your receipt, I noticed that your two $5 My Best Buy certificates were properly applied and the purchase price was discounted to $49.99. With tax ($4.12), the total purchase was $54.11.
Having said this, it appears your $15.00 deposit didn’t deduct from your order as it should have. I’d like to make sure I may properly reimburse you for this oversight; I’ve sent you a private message to collect necessary information.     So recently I picked up my Watch Dogs pre-order, for which I had put a $10 deposit on. When I picked it up, the price on the screen when I swiped my card reflected the $10 deposit and my GCU discount ($41.95). I didn't really look at the receipt, and have since thrown it away, but when I checked my checking account online, I noticed that I had been charged $51.95, the $10 deposit seeming to have disappeared. Is there any way to resolve this now?

    If you put down a $10 deposit when you pre-ordered Watch Dogs, then that $10 should have been deducted from the pre-tax total when you picked up your copy.  I used the email address you registered with the forum to review your purchase history and it does appear the pre-order deposit may not have been applied correctly.

  • $5 pre-order deposit not applied or refunded

    I put down a $5 pre-order deposit in store, and when I picked up my game this week, I wasn't given my $5 credit.  This is despite having the CSR scan my pre-order deposit receipt, and me asking why the display didn't give me my $5 credit.

    If our store associate scanned your pre-order deposit receipt, it’s quite odd that your deposit wouldn’t have been applied when completing the payment to fulfill your pre-order. I’m very sorry for any confusion if this occurred! I’ve seen this happen maybe a handful of times and it can be due to a few different circumstances.   • Witcher III: Pre-Order 10$ bonus not pending?

    Hello!
    So I know its too early to be stressing about my 500 points but I do not see it anywhere in my purchase history pending for it. Im not sure if it should be showing but for my Mortal Kombat X pre-order, it did show in my purchase history pending but not for the Witcher III. Should I be concerned? Thanks.

    While at times the 500 points from the My Best Buy Get $10 promotion will show as pending immediately, this isn’t always the case. These points can often take 15-20 days to appear on your account and within that timeframe, they may not show as pending.

  • Just noticed a recurring pattern of not being credited my $5 pre-order deposit.

    The other day I was going over some of my Best Buy gaming purchases this year through MyBB, and noticed for one game, Project CARS on PS4, I was charged an additional $5 for the pre-order bonus (noted as "POB") which should have been free. I contacted customer support and was told I'd only be able to get a refund w. receipt in-store, and it was up to the store's discretion. As I didn't save a recipt from May, I figured it was a loss and not worth trying to make a case over $5.
    Then I noticed something else. As a Gamers Club Unlocked member, all new release $59.99 games go down to $51.35 ($47.99 + tax) when the 20% deduction is applied. When accounting for the $5 deposit to reserve an in-store pre-order, the game should work out to $46.35 after tax if the transaction is processed properly. However, going through new release game pre-orders, I noticed that almost every single game I pre-ordered for in-store pickup this year was processed incorrectly and I was charged $51.35 due to not being credited the depsoit I had already paid. I didn't realize at the time, but now it appears as if has been the case for four pre-order purchases, which when added to the $5 I was charged for the pre-order bonus, works out to a $25 total overcharge. Is there any way to try and get my money back on this at this point or no? As some of these purchases were from months ago, I don't still have the receipt and even if I did, would be past the return window (though this wouldn't be a typical return issue).

    You certainly shouldn’t be running into so many issues with pre-order deposits at your local Best Buy. I’m familiar with hiccups with these in the past, but I haven’t heard anything for quite some time now. Our systems are setup to automatically apply your $5 deposit to the final transaction when a game releases, so this leads me to believe that some of your pre-orders aren’t being fulfilled properly at the store level. I’m very sorry if this has occurred on any of your pre-orders!
    Like others have mentioned, your local store should be able to refund any pre-order deposits necessary. We also have the ability to locate previous pre-orders/receipts, so I wouldn’t worry too much about that. Considering the timeframe here, you may want to ask to speak with someone from your store’s leadership team as well, should you run into any issues.

  • Pre-order purchased but not downloaded; no pre-order email and purchases not on cloud. Help?

    I purchased a pre-order for an album back in September, with a release date of Oct. 29. On Oct. 29, the album was displayed as "purchased" on the iTunes Store yet it did not download. I did not receive a pre-order email and the purchase was not on the cloud.

    I have the same problem :(

  • Anyone who pre-ordered the 3GS not receive their tracking # yet?

    My girlfriend still has not received her tracking number. She pre-ordered the white 3GS last week. I pre-ordered mine at almost the exact time she did, yet I have a tracking # and she doesn't. Could it be possible that both of our orders were combined into the same package since they are getting shipped to the same address?

    Mine was the same way until about 20 minutes ago. They sent me the email with the tracking information. They'll get to you. I ordered mine at 6/9/09 at 4:45pm CST if that gives you a time reference.

  • Robbie Williams pre-ordered videos do not play

    Has anyone else pre-ordered the new Robbie Williams album released today that came with two videos (interview and "Tripping") and been able to play them successfully?
    They downloaded fine into iTunes for me but I could not play them through iTunes. I then copied them from one computer and added them to another of my authorized iTunes computers and the videos fail to show up in my library.
    Attempts to play it back using Quicktime also fail. I am using Windows XP-based operating systems with the most recent version of Quicktime installed.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Pre-order Failure - Music not downloading.

    I pre-ordered Lana Del Rey's new album Ultraviolence back in May and it was due for release today on 16th June in the UK. It turns out  that when the release date had been reached the album didn't download and will not download. On my iTunes on my iPhone next to every song there is a sign that says purchased however the song has not downloaded as is unable to play. In my music library, there is the option to "complete" the album which will cost me a further £10.99. How do I get the music to actually download rather than having fades out "purchased" signs everywhere. It's extremely frustrating especially since it's a pre-order. (In the purchased area of iTunes it shows the album as being purchased)

    Look under the Store menu in iTunes for the "Check for available downloads" command and select that. You may find the track there to be downloaded. If not, check the Purchases area of the iTunes Store and you may be able to download the missing tracks there:

    my bookorder was registered with apple and payed Oct.5th and sent a few days later.
    but did not arrive.
    how can i contact apple to find out what happened.
    my guess is that i gave a mailbox number as adress and UPS wants a real adress.

    Othe other day I had trouble playing bingo so during I put buy on several things that came up thinking that would make it work,,,so it ended up charging me for  5 things with a total of 15.00,,,which I have not downloaded so I would like to cancel the complete order,,,and every time I put in the number on the order it says it is wrong,,,,the number is MH6SB2D71F     it says to report a problem and so I am,,,I do not want it,,,,so please take it off my bill if you can,,,please help

    Thanks for the reply, been in contact with BT by calling 100 and connecting via broadband sales and spoke to someone in the UK - OMG SO COULD NOT BELIEVE IT!
    He looked at the new order placed which I could also see on my BT account and relates to the request I have been waiting for over a week now for our interleaving to be switched off to connect with a latency of Fast.
    The chap discussed with me various different reasons why connection speeds may be slow which is down to the BT's Network Traffic Monitoring and speeds will vary at any point of the day.
    He mentioned that the 4 services that have most priorities are
    BT Vision
    Voip
    Gaming
    General Internet use
    I asked him if BT have something similar to what Plus Net have regarding speeds for various Internet applications e.g. Video Streaming at say 5PM will be 1mb, 7PM will be 512 and so on.  He said no, this is because of the amount of speed that is available from the exchange to the customers connected at the time when you are on the Internet.  Simple. However, would be nice to see what we should expect and not calling if it is a fault ;-|
    He also mentioned a game that he used on his PC where for some reason was using two ports, one gaming and one Internet.  He advised that the ping on the Internet port was over 4000ms and he passed this to his IT tech team who studied the game etc and advised why it was slow.  Some games like football games may use conventional ports where as some use actual gaming ports which are prioritised.
    He provided me with more information which i wanted to hear and answred my query within half an hour, i have been speaking with BT India for the last week and waisted more than 3 hours!
    BT, Please bring back BT UK, or make BT India have more experience in Broadband and understand what we are asking!

    I have had three emails in the past couple of hours saying that I have ordered three different skype numbers? I have done no such thing and want the charges removed from my account.

    i'm seeing two possibilities here ;  (1) the emails you received could be fake or phishing emails (2) or your account may have been hacked.
