Preloader progress bar not move in IE, but move well in Firefox

I have been in this problem for several days. I really got
frustrated about it. Pls. anybody can give me some help.
I created a general preloader using movieClipLoader object
and draw a progress bar using movieClip. I set the progress bar's
progress by setting bar_mc._x = percentage, and created as a swf
file. when test it , it works well, when open it using firefox, it
still work well, can show the gradual progress in the bar, but if I
using IE 6 or 7 to open it, it will not show the gradual progress ,
just jump from 0% to 100% after the whole file is completely
loaded.
I saw a note about progress bar not show graduate progress in
Flash Player 9, so I uninstall it and install Flash Player 8 again,
it is still like that.
I really don't know what 's the problem. Could any friends
give me some suggestion or idea, that will be greatly helpful.

Also, is there any way to remove unused styles (in an external CSS) in DW? Just it would be a pain to go through and remove the styles I've tried, but then later decided not to use.
Not exaclty a DW answer, but I've used the free FireFox add-on to help me find unused selectors. Point it to a sitemap.xml and it can spider the whole site (as listed in that xml file).

But be careful with it. It apparently doesn't read JavaScript and your PMM triggers are actually used.

10.6.8 update - progress bar not smooth anymore :s

Basically, after updating to 10.6.8 on my Macbook Air when I move a file over my Local Network over Wifi the progress bar jerks in increments now and doesnt smoothly increase. I hopw Im explaining it well but it moves then stops for a few seconds, moves then stops for a few seconds. Its not consistently moving. It is also say 20 secs slower over a 2.5gb file than my Mini is using the 10.6.7 OS.
Any ideas anyone?

Looking into this a little more, it seems that this is not wifi related as it does the same thing moving files to and from my external drive via usb.
Could this be due to the new TRIM system with SSD's on 10.6.8 and the way it accessing the drive when moving/copying?
Noone else get this on the Macbook Air 13inch 2010 128GB SSD drive?

My progress bar gets to the 50% mark and then loads the site.
That's not the end of the world, but someone on a slow connection
might give up because it looks like it's loading slower than it
really is.
The loading bar graphic is the correct size.
Here's my code for the first frame and the second frame:

around 200 pixels. Not 100 which is what you're multiplying your
percent by here.
Try this instead.

My tablet started this new update about 4 hours ago, it said it would take 30 minutes...... in the progress bar it shows its downloading but its never changed from 0%. how pr what do i do? am i supposed to let it run all night?

Reply to myself...... Thank you, thank you, thank you chersgroupie!!!! Turning the WiFi off worked and the update finished in about 5 minutes on 4G!!! Note: at the start of update my instructions were: plug in if not full battery and use WiFi!!!!! Hard to explain to your 3 year old why they can't have their tablet and you've done what you were instructed to do!!! I pay too much a month for this kind of preventable aggravation!!!

Quicktime Movies not loading in Safari but do load in Firefox

When I load a page in SAFARI with a quick time movie on it, it shows the quicktime symbol with a question mark over it. I have not updated these pages in a long while and i know they were loading at one point.
They ARE loading in FIREFOX
Any Ideas?

Great movie. It's actually 480x360, so I exaggerated, but it raises the question, why not display it in that size.
To make it more appealing for the visitors, I suggest you split up the 50 or so scenes in manageable sizes. Unless they have a Terrabit Internet connection.

Menu bar not showing in IE, but in DW CS5 'live view' it's there.

I am having problems with my webpage, for some reason when I am in DW live view everything works,but when I go to preview in browser the menu bar doesn't show up. I have made sure that my local and testing server files are all synced. Here is a link to my html page.

You would need to post your code into a reply using the web forum's double arrows > syntax highlighting > plain.
1) Did you name your parent pages with a supported extension to tell the server to parse server-side includes? Some common ones are .shtm, .shtml, php, or asp.
2) Does your web server support the use of server-side includes?
3) To preview includes locally, you need a local testing server installed on your computer. Do you have one?
4) Does your include file contain ONLY the menu HTML code and nothing else?

ITunes 10.6.3.25 on PC running Windows 7 (service pack 1 installed)- music progress bar not moving

Unable to play music from ITunes library or audio cd. The sound card works, speakers work when tested with audio device. Audio drivers updated, not sure where to turn. Have seen similar threads in the recent past. What needs to happen here. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Is there anyone that can verify they're having this same issue? I called Apple to report the 'glitch' but I'm looking for any others with the same challenge and whether or not you've found a work around.
Again--I rely heavily on iTunes for business. We use it constantly for live performances...both on it's own and it's integration with Traktor, Serato and DJay

Help :( DVD Drive will not read Blank DVDs but movie and data DVDs ok.

I am at loss what to do. Whenever I put in DVD with media in it (including +R), it plays and reads it all just fine. CD data reads no problem too. However, when I put in a Blank DVD, it chugs and ejects it out completely.
Preferences are fine. It says 'Ask What to Do' is set when 'You insert a Blank DVD'
Here was how it started. Previously, I could put in a blank DVD and it would be just fine but I'm having problems burning after the 10.5.6 update. Read in a post somewhere to try resetting your PRAM which I did and now it won't accept the blank DVDs. Everything else is fine.
I know a lot may say it's a bad batch, but I bought a new batch, Memorex vs. Verbatim and nothing.
Would really appreciate ANY help I can get!

Repairing permissions yes. But in my head, if everything is working fine for it, just won't read Blank media, could it be a software thing?

First WDA (Hello World) not working in IE but looks good in FireFox.

My Hello World App in WD is not working in Browser IE. So I can't TEST it in SE80. It only shows a blank page and a javascipt error...
Taking the same URL in Firefox works just fine....

Does a method in your PicMsgComposer silently catch an exception and returns
an empty array or null?
That what the trace looks like.
The real problem might be an AccessControlException thrown by checkPermission or
a class that is not found (classpath) or something else.

PHP Homepage does not function in Google Chrome but works well in Firefox

When typing in my websites's name, mtwatersheds.org, it appears in firefox but the background image does not show up in chrome. When I click the home button the address turns to mtwatersheds.org/index.php and everything appears as it did in Firefox. Can I do anything to change this or do I need to include a new file for the homepage in chrome?

It actually doesn't work in Firefox either. I suspect you have another default page. If I compare the source between the default page and index.php it's differerent. The image has a .LCK in the filename. Check your server for other default pages that might exist in the root, and check your server setup for which default pages are listed.

UI is not rendering in IE but no probs in FIREFOX

I am using JSF in my project. When I tried to view a page in IE6 it doesnot display as it intended. which is working fine Firefox.
Even I didn't got any error message either in IE & Firefox. This is not working in any IE ( i tested upto 8).
I would like to know , any issues, if you know using JSF1.1 in IE6 and above?
Please also let me know how to debug IE for javascript?

I have no idea what you're talking about. Please be more specific. What exactly happens? What exactly happens not?
Do you know client side languages HTML/CSS/JS as well? It would me more helpful if you talk at that level. You know, all what JSF generates is HTML/CSS/JS and all what browsers gots and understands is HTML/CSS/JS. Your problem is at that level, not at JSF level. Once you've nailed down the HTML/CSS/JS problem, you can trackback it to the JSF component responsible for rendering that part.

PDF link does not open in IE, but will open in Firefox and Safari.

How PDFs open when clicked on is controlled by the user's settings. You can't use code to force them to display in-browser.
Check your IE security settings, especially if it's a local file that won't open. IE has some idiotic security settings when trying to open local files.
If the site has been uploaded and IE won't open the PDF, you will want to make sure you have the Acrobat plug-in installed and that it's set to be used from within IE's settings.

I have the exact same problem as you with my daughters iPad 2. Have you found a solution?
My daughters iPad 2 has been upgraded to IOS 7 for a while, and she complained about it sometimes turning off, restarting. Yesterday it could not be turned on at all. It was fully charged. She has been looking after it - no physical damage. Before upgrading to IOS 7 there were never any problems.
Holding the home and sleep button for 10 or 15 seconds did nothing - black screen.
Although she complained, we decided to wipe the whole thing, and start on a fresh. Could not enter recovery mode (pressing home, while attaching USB). Pressing home and sleep button for 10 seconds while connected to iTunes, causes iTunes to state that there is an iPad connected that needs to be restored.
iTunes retrieves the the 7.0.4 package and starts the update. However when the Apple logo and progress bar appears nothing happens. iTunes just states "waiting for iPad". I have left it for periods of 1 hour, 2 hours or even 6 hours without any movement what so ever on the progress bar. Have tried with three different PC's - all with same result.
If I keep the home and sleep button pressed for 10 seconds during the "stuck" update, the process starts over again - unpacking the 7.0.4 package, starting the upgrade and then nothing! Apple logo and progress bar not moving.
Just checked my warranty - and it was bought in September 2011, so that is no solution. We are using PC's with Windows 7 64-bit with Windows update turned on and no other problems.

AppStore has no Progress bar in purchases but I see one in updates?

I have a problem with the progress bar not showing in purchases after i clicked install for the app to download. The file cannot be seen in apps folder until it is done whenever it gets there. I did get Mavericks this way over night and I was greeted with a install window the next day. I don' t want to install right away so I turned it off and left it in apps folder. I used activity monitor and it showed it was using lots of bandwidth I got 3gigs next day. It's happened more than once. I don't like something coming in that uses up all my hardrive if airport is left on!

I'm not sure what your issue is. The Maveriscks installer is 5.29 GBs. Just as the Mavericks pane in the Mac App Store states. And when an OS X installer completes the download it automatically opens, however as you saw it does give you the decision as to whether to go ahead with the install. You can also see a progress bar for a downloading app in Launchpad.
