Prime infrastructure 2.0 - Inventory error with Virtual-Access Interface

Hi,
We have recently been trying to resolve a few issues with routers which get partial inventory failures upon discovery. I have managed to narrow this down slightly with the help of the inventory.log file. (With help from this post https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2255346 ) I have found the following happnes when this device is added:
[2014-03-04 14:00:27,537] [ICE Service[ 1]Thread: 29] [inventory] [ERROR] - 172.16.3.202 Object detected as SAME but DB Object obtained from the database is NULL For instance id: 0 For generated POJO: PPPEncapsulation[callBack=false,callIn=false,callOut=false,multilink=false,name=Virtual-Access1,oneTime=false,owningEntityId=69757688_172.16.3.202,preferedAuthType=NONE,deployPending=NONE,name=Virtual-Access1,owningEntityId=69757688_172.16.3.202,instanceId=0,_orderedListOEIndex=<Integer>,_creationOrderIndex=<Integer>,instanceVersion=0]
I have highlighted above where it mentions the problem with the virtual access interface. The configuration on the router is for PPPoE and the virtual-access1 interface is bound to Dialer0.
It then goes on to roll back the transaction:
172.16.3.202 persistObjects called with addList size = 307, updateList size = 6
172.16.3.202 Exception while persisting: com.cisco.xmp.persistence.common.util.DMMCRUDException:,message=errorId=12,componentName=CRUD Error Create Object Failed
172.16.3.202 Exception occured while inventory collection for device with id 69757688: com.cisco.xmp.inventory.ice.InventoryException: errorId=12,componentName=CRUD Error Create Object Failed
172.16.3.202 Done with collection. Total call method time: 15308
172.16.3.202 Rolling back the transaction
Has anyone else come accross this issue?
I have attched the log showing just messages from this device.
Thanks,
Mike.

  • CS2 Scanning Problem - error with acquisition module interface

    Hi there,
I have an Epson Perfection 4180 scanner which has worked for years. I moved, plug everything back in, the scanner works one time, and from then on, I get this error: "Could not complete the Import command because of an error with acquisition module interface."
I've searched around, and seen others with this problem, but, no real solution. From what I've read, it's a Photoshop issue. I've downloaded the TWAIN drivers and re-installed the scanner, and deleted Photoshop's preferences file. The scanner does work through the Windows Scanner Wizard. I've turned off the Windows Image Acquisition thing in the control panel, and then turned it back on.
ARGH, I am really pulling my hair out. Please help!
    Thanks so much!

I'd try to avoid the hassle of messing with the PS installation if possible.
One other thing I have seen is to temporarily disable the Twain plug-in, with a ~ in front of the name, in
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Plug-Ins\Import-Export

    Hi Mat,

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.1 Inventory Job

My cisco prime infrastructure performs a switch inventory job every night at 22:00 hrs.  When I looked at the syslog of the devices in the inventory, I see some entries that I never saw with other LMS versions.

I don't understand what the PI is doing with the switches.  Does anyone know what is happening during this inventory background job?  TIA

    Hello all,
    we have the same problem maybe; Cisco Prime IF 2.1 is changing the running-configs and produces out-of-syncs ;
it turns so for us is, as if Cisco Prime IF 2.1 a snmp-server host x.x.x.x community entry writes in the running-config,
so are running-and startup-config are out-of-sync; is this correct?  Herbert

  • Prime Infrastructure to manage WLC 5760 with IOS XE 03.03.03

Hi there Is IOS XE 03.03.03 on WLC 5760 to be managed via Prime infrastructure 2.1 or what version do I need? It seems to be not fully supported with 2.1... Thanks and best regards Dominic

    Hi Dominic,
The release notes http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/net_mgmt/prime/infrastructure/2-1/release/notes/cpi_rn.html#pgfId-43893 show support of up to 03.03.02
I have got a 3850 WLC running on IOS XE 03.03.03 managed by Prime 2.1
The release might not be up to date. When the release notes for Prime 2.1 came out, the highest supported is 03.02.03 and a few days later got changed to 03.03.02.

  • Prime Infrastructure 1.3 - Incorrect work with latest version of Addobe Flash Player.

    Good day!
I try to view all information about user who associated to Wireless Controller in Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.3, but all browsers that I use (Firefox 20.0.1, Chrome 26.0.1410.64 m) are crash on this step:
Does somebody have the same issue?

    Hi Chris
Adobe have indicated that they have fixed this bug in the Flash Player.  See internal bug number https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3169988.
I was wondering if its possible to get a beta version of the FLash Plugin with this fix from Adobe.
Also have you when the next public release of the player is planned with this fix? As I understand it was targetted for version 11.4. Can you confirm if thats the case and when 11.4 is scheduled for release.
    Thanks

  • Prime Infrastructure 2.0: Inventory Collection - Partial Collection Failure on 2 of 4 VSS WS-C6509-E

    Hello,
I've got a strange behaviour regarding the inventory collection for 2 of 4 virtual switching systems.
That means the inventory collection for two VSS is succesfull (inventory collections status = Completed) for the other two systems it is not, see attachments.
The device credentials like SNMP-RW, SSH acces are OK. I've already tried to increase SNMP timout and retries as well as telnet/ssh timout without success
All 4 systems are identical regarding hardware model and software vesion.
    HW: WS-C6509-E
    SW: 12.2(33)SXJ3
    Any ideas or suggestions?
    Best regards,

  • Prime Infrastructure 2.0: Inventory/detailed HW reports customizing

    Hello,
isn't it possible to run a/one detailed hardware report that includes the chassis information Name, the device name, the chassis serial number?
    Example:
    Chassis Information Name
    Device Hostname
    Serial Number
    WS-C3750V2-24PS-S
    switch1x2
    FX31338243d
In my knowledge I have to run a "Wired Detailed Device Inventory" report to get the chassis informatin name and a "Detailed Hardware" report to get the device hostname.
In LMS it was possible to customize the inventory reports. It looks like the Prime 2.0 is not that flexible in customizing the reports or has anyone a tip for me?
    Thanks
    Bastian

Sorry, but as far as I know this can't be done with PI 2.0 like it could be on LMS 4.x.
I agree it would be a very useful feature. Add to the reporting the ability to get all members of a switch stack and we would have a winner.

  • Prime Infrastructure 1.4 e-mail from virtual domains

    Hi
Is there any way in PI 1.4 to configure e-mail alerts to be sent to different recipients for different virtual domains.  We have several large sites, each with their own controllers and AP's (16 controllers & 4000+ AP's) and I'd like to be able to set things up so that the admin for each site gets any alerts for that site e-mailed only to them. The only way I can find to group the site devices is to put them in a virtual domain (subordinate to ROOT-DOMAIN) but e-mail recipients only seem to be configurable from ROOT ?
    So would have:
    Site A, controller A & AP's, alerts e-mailed to Admin_A
    Site B, Controller B & AP's, alerts e-mailed to Admin B etc.
    Thanks
    Alan

This is exacly what I am trying to do as well Kilravock. We have a distributed management model where I would like to have the email alerts sent to the admins for each domain.
If someone knows how to perfom this I would love to hear how to do it because I can't find instructions in any of the Ciso documentation.
    Any insight would be apreciated!
    -Thanks in advance

  • Error with Virtual Java

    Hi,
Error is: Could not load the Java Virtual Machine. Eventid 4096
I have install Workflow 7, but after i use turnkey i got this error. I dont undertsand. I have also Jboss for adobe livecycle service failed to start.
I'm using Jboss and mysql in turnkey.
For the SDK witch version i need to use, Sun or Adobe? Because in the manuel they dont say anything about this.
    Thanks

    Hi
Glad that you're up and running.
I haven't tried changing on the fly. I think it's fairly unlikely that it would just work, because you need to create all the database tables (at a miniumum), so you would need to re-run at least part of the config tool. You'd also need to install the correct jdbc drivers, modify the DataSource file, etc, etc.
My suggestion would be to bite the bullet and re-install - I think you might find it easier in the long run.

  • Prime Infrastructure 2.0 email alerts with hostname?

I have configured email alerts however in the message it shows up with the IP address instead of hostname.
Is there a way to configure the hostname to be added? Custom text or adding the switch differently (added by direct IP search)?
    Thanks,
    Chris

I see now, this is a poor carry over from NCS. The option that says include "controller" in email does provide the switch hostname. Hopefully by version 3.0 they will have all the wireless naming fixed when it applies to converged.
    Thanks Rob!

  • Prime infrastructure 2.0 inventory reports

In lms it was easy to get inventory report on our router cards draughtboards etc. when I go to report launch pad>device>detailed hardware and run combined inventory I get "no data found" under the modules and interfaces....this is the ONLY report requested by the customer, is this really not available in PI 2.0?

Reports  (deatiled Hardware ) are working fine  for me.  check the attached screenshot
Check the device  "Inventory collection status " under device >workcenter   . status should be completed for those device
