Problem in Oracle CDC Create Subscription option

Hi All,
I am facing a problem setting up CDC in test environment after cloning from DEV. We are using Oracle 11g and OWB 11g2 versions.
For setting up CDC through OWB client, when we started start CDC, job throws runtime error saying error mapping function at DBMS Subscribe. I also tried to create CDC setup through scrips. My initial CDC setup is done, but when I start to create subscription, it throughs the same error as I encountered in OWB Start CDC. Not sure if it is some error with DB configuration or Package itself.
Here is the relevant details.
SELECT * FROM CHANGE_SETS;
PR10TEST HOTLOG_SOURCE 19-OCT-13      Y  19-OCT-13
So, Change Set does exist along with Change Source as HOTLOG_SOURCE which is active. Now I want to create subscription as shown below. Command is run from Publisher schema
BEGIN
DBMS_CDC_SUBSCRIBE.CREATE_SUBSCRIPTION(
      change_set_name => 'PR10TEST',
      description => 'Common subscription ',
      subscription_name => 'PR10TESTNew'
END;
Error starting at line 74 in command:
BEGIN
DBMS_CDC_SUBSCRIBE.CREATE_SUBSCRIPTION(
      change_set_name => 'PR10TEST',
      description => 'Common subscription ',
      subscription_name => 'PR10TESTNew'
END;
Error report:
ORA-06521: PL/SQL: Error mapping function
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_CDC_ISUBSCRIBE", line 104
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_CDC_SUBSCRIBE", line 120
ORA-06512: at line 2
06521. 00000 -  "PL/SQL: Error mapping function"
*Cause:    An error was detected by PL/SQL trying to map the mentioned
           function dynamically.
*Action:   Check the stacked error (if any) for more details.
I am stuck up here. I even tried to recompile CDC package but no luck.
Please provide your inputs. Thanks in advance.

Perhaps the CDC Healthcheck script from Metalink/MyOracleSupport can be of help:
Change Data Capture CDC Healthcheck. (Doc ID 983443.1)
Script gathers information about the CDC setup to help manage/troubleshoot CDC.

    Hi All,
    I am having Problems in Creating Packages from MaxDB ..Does MaxDB supports the CREATE PACKAGE <some packagename>concept ? if so please help me how to achieve in creating packages ..
    My sample Oracle package Creation is as follows:

      END;
    END acs;

    Thanks & Regards,

    Edited by: shanmukh babu on May 16, 2008 10:11 AM

    Hi Shanmukh,
    MaxDB does not have packages like you'll find them in Oracle.
    But you can define your own functions and procedures.
    From the code-example you posted, I would say that a procedure will do it ...
    I suggest that you first read the documentation on procedures [CREATE DBPROC Statement|http://maxdb.sap.com/doc/7_6/a7/41ee11605911d3a98800a0c9449261/frameset.htm]
    There you'll also find an example in the Tutorial section.
    Be aware that the procedural capabilities of MaxDB are far less enlarged as in Oracle - but they do exist and work in their realm.
    So porting a full PL/SQL application layer to MaxDB procedures may turn out to be quite difficult and/or not the best choice at all.

  • Please Help:  A Problem With Oracle-Provided 'Working' Example

    A Problem With Oracle-Provided 'Working' Example Using htp.formcheckbox
    I followed the simple steps in the Oracle-provided example:
    Doc ID: Note:116534.1
    Subject: How to use checkbox in webdb for bulk update using webdb report
    However, when I select a checkbox and click on the Update button, I get a "ORA-01036: illegal variable name/number" error. Please advise. This was a very promising feature.
    Fred
    Below are step-by-step instructions provided by Oracle to create this "working" example:
    How to use a checkbox in WEBDB 2.2 report for bulk update.
    PURPOSE
    This article shows how checkbox can used placed on WEBDB report
    and how to use it.
    SCOPE & APPLICATION
    The following example to guide through the steps to create a working
    example of this.
    In this example, the checkbox is used to select the records. On clicking
    the update button, the pl/sql procedure is called which will update col1 to
    the string 'OK'.
    After the update is done, the PL/SQL procedure calls the report again.
    Since the report only select records where col1 is null, the updated
    records will not be displayed when the report is called again.
    Step 1 - Create Table
    From Sqlplus, log in as scott/tiger and execute the following:
    drop table chkbox_example;
    create table chkbox_example
    (id varchar2(10) not null,
    comments varchar2(20),
    col1 varchar2(10));
    Step 2 - Insert Test Data
    From Sqlplus, still logged in as scott/tiger , execute the following:
    declare
    l_i number;
    begin
    for l_i in 1..50 loop
    insert into chkbox_example values (l_i, 'Comments ' || l_i , NULL);
    end loop;
    commit;
    end;
    Step 3 -Create SQL Query based WEBDB report
    Logon to a WEBDB site which has access to the database the above tables are created.
    Create a SQL based Report.
    Name the report :RPT_CHKBOX
    The select statement for the report is :
    select c.id, c.comments, c.col1,
    htf.formcheckbox('p_qty',c.id) Tick
    from SCOTT.chkbox_example c
    where c.col1 is null
    In Advanced PL/SQL, (REPORT, Before displaying the form), put the following code
    htp.formOpen('scott.chkbox_process');
    htp.formsubmit('p_request','Update');
    htp.br;
    htp.br;
    Step 4 - Create a stored procedure in the database
    Log on to the database as scott/tiger and execute the following to create the
    procedure.
    Note: Replace WEBDB to the appropriate webdb user for your installation.
    In my database, I had installed webdb using WEBDB username, hence user webdb owns
    the packages.
    create or replace procedure chkbox_process
    ( p_request in varchar2 default null,
    p_qty in wwv_utl_api_types.vc_arr ,
    p_arg_names in wwv_utl_api_types.vc_arr ,
    p_arg_values in wwv_utl_api_types.vc_arr
    is
    i number;
    begin
    for i in 1..p_qty.count loop
    if p_qty(i) is not null then
    begin
    update chkbox_example
    set col1 = 'OK'
    where chkbox_example.id = p_qty(i);
    end;
    end if;
    end loop;
    commit;
    /* To Call Report again after updating */
    SCOTT.RPT_CHKBOX.show
    (p_request=>'Run Report',
    p_arg_names=>webdb.wwv_standard_util.string_to_table2(' '),
    p_arg_values=>webdb.wwv_standard_util.string_to_table2(' '));
    end;
    Summary
    There are essentially 2 main modules, The WEBDB report and the pl/sql procedure (chkbox_process)
    A button is created via the advanced pl/sql coding which shows on top of the report. (The
    button cannot be placed at the bottom of the report due to the way WEBDB creates the procedure
    internally)
    When any button is clicked on the report, it calls the pl/sql procedure chkbox_process.
    The procedure is called , WEBDB always passes the parameters p_request,p_arg_names and o_arg_values.
    p_qty is another parameter that we are passing additionally, This comes from the checkbox created
    using the htf.formcheckbox in the report select statement.
    The pl/sql procedure calls the report again after processing. This is done to
    show how to call the report.
    Restrictions:
    -The Next and Prev buttons on the report will not work.
    So it is important that the report can fit in 1 page only.
    (This may mean that you will not select(not ticked) 'Paginate' under
    'Display Option' in the WEBDB report. If you do this,
    then in Step 4, remove p_arg_names and p_arg_values as input parameters
    to the chkbox_process)

    If your not so sure you can use the instanceof
    insurance,
    Object o = evt.getSource();
    if (o instanceof Button) {
    Button source = (Button) o;
    I haven't thoroughly read the thread, but I use something like this:if (evt.getSource() == someObjRef) {
        // do that voodoo
    ]I haven't looked into why you'd be creating a new reference...

  • 4 Problems in Oracle ASCP

    Hi,
    I have 4 problems with Oracle ASCP. 1) I have defined and saved unconstrained plan but the same is not seen in the Planner's workbench. 2) When I try to create and save simulated plan, it throws an error saying "the record already exists, you have entered duplicate values" 3) I am unable to define and save Profile Options as the corresponding fields are not activated. 4) i have created a query to retrieve information of a particular product and executed it successfully for the first time, but when I attempt to execute the same query again for the next time it asks for re-naming of the query i did it, after that when i clicked on OK button an error is displayed saying  "the record already exists, you have entered duplicate values" I am a beginner and working for a live project. I request you to please help me in resolving the above errors.

    hello,
    regarding 1:
    you need to put a group frame around the graph and make it collapsable. that way on the second page where there is nograph, the room is collapsed to 0 and your table can start from the top.
    regarding 2:
    you can not do summaries in the graph itself. the graph just visualizes the data of a query. so you need to have a query that returns you the data in the desired format.

  • Can't create subscription

    Dear colleagues, hi
    Could you please help us with one case.
    We faced with a problem working on Sybase  RS 12.6 and ASE 12.5.4
    I have WarmStabdBy replication but now I want create replication definition and subscription on one table.
    In all manual I read what I can do it.
    (SyBooks Online)
    In manual write
    "If the primary database is part of a warm standby application, data_server.database is the name of the logical data server and database."
    For replication definition and subscription.
    I have logical connection test.DB
    My Scripts
    create replication definition RD_pSwiftLine12
    with primary at test.DB
    with all tables named "pSwiftLine11"
    SPID int,
    Number int
    primary key (  "SPID", "Number")
    go
    And replication definition created.
    But when I create subscription  with the same logical connection test.DB
    define subscription SR_pSwiftLine12
    for RD_pSwiftLine12
    with replicate at test.DB
    with suspension
    go
    I had error
    The replicate database 'test.DB' for subscription 'SR_pSwiftLine12' is the
    same as the primary database for the replication definition 'RD_pSwiftLine12'.
    This is not allowed.
    May be somebody know how I make create subscription for WarmStandBy.
    Because when I use another name in "with replicate at...." a had error,because all server use in WarmStandBy.
    Interesting string with
    "with replicate at...."
    What write?

    on your first question
    I want create a repdef/sub on a particular table because i had very strange error.
    Some time my replication lose 1 transaction(delete on 1 table),(not every operation).
    And I don't know HOW???))
    And  I solved change sheme(I know during the work with repdef/sub sheme  working RS some change).
    About question
    I read:
    (SyBooks Online)
    Although subscriptions are not used in replicating from the active to the standby database, you can:
    Create subscriptions for the data in a logical primary database, or--------- I want to execute this option
    Create subscriptions in order to replicate data from other databases into a logical replicate database.
    The create subscription and define subscription commands use the logical database and data server names instead of the physical names.

  • Problem using oracle.dataaccess.dll

    Hi,
    I have an web application which uses Oracle.DataAccess.dll to communicate with and Oracle db. The web application deployed on 32 bit windows system works but not on windows server 2008 64 bit. I installed 10204_vista_win2k8_x64_production_db package, referenced the installed dll (version 2.102.4.0) from the project but I get the following error:
    Could not load file or assembly 'Oracle.DataAccess, Version=2.102.4.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89b483f429c47342' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
    Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    I had this problem too.
    I have not found any way to get ODP to work on a 64 bit machine. I have gone through more than 30 permutations of install combinations and all have their problems.
    Your's is one I remember.
    The error message does not give a good description of the problem. It CAN find it, but it can't load it.
    The main problem in my opinion is that Visual Studio is a 32 bit app and so are its tools. MS will say that is no big deal because they don't want to rewrite native code sooner than they have too. It is going to stay that way for 2010. Visual Studio is going to load a .dll to connect to Oracle in server explorer and in any datasets you have created with the designer...its going to use a 32 bit .dll now your application wants a 64bit .dll... see the problem? I beleive that when you install the ODP registry settings are made for viual studios sake, but I don't know what happens under the hood.
    Does visual studio give you any option at all to choose what assemblies to use for the IDE tools? nope
    I have tried 32 bit client, 64 bit client, ODACwithODP and every combination of them in every version oracle offers on their download site. Nothing worked 100%.
    I got
    1) "cannot load file x" when x is at the specified path
    2) BadImageFormat exception
    3) App worked but visual studio tools crashed the IDE
    4) installed all 3, but used the old system.data.oracleclient and tools worked sluggish or crashed.
    You can also combine the problem of Oracle provider along with the fact that 1/2 of Visual Studio's tools don't care about 64 bit programming. For example, I made a wcf service that as going to access my database. Well, guess what you can't use Visual Studio's WCF debugger because WcfSvcost.exe is 32 bit. Will it give you an informative error message? nope. Just a BadImageFormat Exception with no clue which file is causing the problem. spent a week of precious time on that one and thought it was an oracle provider issue.
    I have given up using ODP for now and am forced to use (4) System.Data.OracleClient just for the sake of getting any coding done at all instead of hacking my environment. It sucks. I got that working by installing 11r2 64 bit client in one home and 11r2 64bit client in another, then ODP in a 3rd. That way I can still use more friendly tools made for Oracle and let VS use the 32 bit client with the old System.Data.OracleClient dll.
    If anyone has the magic step but step to get both a working IDE with its tools remaining functional along with a working application on Windows 7 64bit, than please please let me know!

  • Problem installing Oracle Identity Manager Server  9.1

    Hello,
    I try to install oracle identity Manager Server 9.1, but I'm having a problem.
    Oracle identity manager 9.03 is already installed with jboss-4.0.3SP1 and j2sdk1.4.2_15
    and oracle 10.2.0
    So I follow these steps to clean out the db:
    1. Drop tablespace: drop tablespace oimtbs including contents;
    2. Drop user: drop user oimuser cascade;
    and ran prepare_xl_db.bat as instructed. No errors in the log.
    I ran the DiagonasticDashboard : the db setup was fine.
    When I ran the installer "setup_server.exe", i haved this message :
    Folowing Error occured during schema creation
    Error encountered while loading database script
    E:\OIM_Install\OIM9100\installServer\Xellerate/db/oracle/xell.sql

    Does anybody have any idea what this error is about ?
    Thanks.

    Index IDX_LKV_LKV_ENCODED on Table LKV (Column :- LKV_ENCODED - VARCHAR2(3000)) is failing on 2k block size. Though all the Indexes are working fine with the 4k block size.
    But OIM Dev team recommends to create the 8k block size for the Index storage.
    Because the blocksize affects the number of keys within each index node, it follows that the blocksize will have an effect on the structure of the index tree. All else being equal, large blocksizes will have more keys, resulting in a flatter index than the same index created in a 2k tablespace. A large blocksize will also reduce the number of consistent gets during index access, improving performance for scattered reads access.
    HOW TO CREATE THE INDEXES IN LARGER BLOCKSIZE TABLESPACE
    In the existing database:-
    Create a tablespace with the 8k blocksize, For Example
    First,
    Set the system cache size for that particular db block size
    sql> alter system set db_8k_cache_size=100M;
    sql> CREATE TABLESPACE db_8k_tablespace DATAFILE 'C:/oracle/product/10.2.0/oradata/8k_file.dbf' SIZE 100M BLOCKSIZE 8192;
    Then
    Reorganize the Index using command:-
    sql> Alter Index <Index_Name> Rebuild tablespace <Tablespace_Name>

  • How to create Subscription Schedule for a Contract created from Sales Order

    Hi Gurus,
    Need help in creating subscription contracts from Sales Orders.
    We know that Service Contract is created from Sales Orders by adding covered item and service item as two lines in a Sales Order.
    1. Does anyone know how to a create Subcription Contract by adding single item or BOM item(Model) to a Sales Order?
    2. Can we have a BOM item created as Subcription item and reference this to the Service Item in the Sales Order, so that we get the Service Contract created with the BOM item as Covered line.
    3. Whenever we create the Service Contracts from Sales Orders, the Billing Schedule Level is set to 'Top Level'. Can we get this changed to 'Equal Amount' by using any profile options.
    Please advise as we are in a critial design phase and need to make a decision quickly.

  • A lot of problems with Oracle BI SEE 11g

    I have a lot of problems with Oracle BI SEE 11g
    1. I upgraded my BI SEE 10 repository and can it openning in offline mode.
    2. I can't deploy my upgraded repository in EM MW Control 11g - when i try to open Farm_bifoundation_domain->Business Intelligence->coreapplication, i get error "Stream closed
    For more information, please see the server's error log for an entry beggining with: Server Exception during PPR, #41".
    Opening Logs by EM control doesn't work too.
    in file middleware\user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain\servers\AdminServer\logs\AdminServer.log i see this event:

    This settings are working fine in BI 10.
    In BI 11g i get this funny error: "The connection has failed". I lost my time in attempts to connect to Oracle DB 8, but have not results. After that i hacked button "Query DBMS" at "Features" tab, pressed it and when get error "ORA-03134: Connections to this server version are no longer supported.".
    Therefore Oracle 8 DB as datasource not supported. Am i right?
    4. In sample repository i added oracle DB 10 as datasource, then added two dual tables and their connection to all layers.

  • PreparedStatement problem in Oracle OTD(JCAPS 5.1.3)

    Hi,
    I encountered a problem with Oracle-eway-generated PreparedStatements when trying to build a project in enterprise designer . I know that without using any prepraredstatement, my project builds fine. Below is the text on the error pop-up window:
    java.lang.NullPointerException
    at com.stc.codegen.OTDImpl.model.OTDCodeletFactory$ArtifactKey.hashCode(OTDCodeletFactory.java:136)
    at java.util.HashMap.hash(HashMap.java:261)

    at org.openide.util.Task.run(Task.java:136)
    [catch] at org.openide.util.RequestProcessor$Processor.run(RequestProcessor.java:599)In order to isolate the problem, I have created a simplified project which just reads a text message and writes the message into the Oracle database with the help of a PreparedStatement. I had an error as well;
    "Oracle eway code generation error(ERROR_CODEGEN_BPEL_CODELET_GENERAL)"
    Caused by: com.stc.codegen.framwork.model.CodeGenException: Error when generating OTD code ...Exception: Invalid parameter type: Class: [TEST] Object: [Param1] Param Type: [VARCHAR].(ERROR_CODEGEN_DB)(ERROR_CREATE_OTD)I think that there is a conflict between the parameters in Oracle and the parameters in the code. Somehow, Oracle eway cannot get the parameter type from database correctly.
    Is there a solution for this? I couldn't find any patches/updates for Enterprise designer or eway. Can you point me to right direction if there is any.
    Thanks in advance,
    Mete

    Hi there,
    (I think) I have found the solution. When designing OTD, I have mapped VARCHAR2 column as CHAR. Somehow, JCAPS throws a code generation exception if the field is not mapped as a CHAR for a VARCHAR2 database column.

  • Peculiar problem in oracle 10g  on AIX 5.3.0 With Check constraints

    Hi Every One,
    I am facing peculiar problem in oracle 10.2.0.1.0,AIX 5.3.0. I created table with check constraints like this
    create table test1 (name nvarchar2(1),check (name in('Y','N')));
    SQL> create table test1 (name nvarchar2(1),check (name in('Y','N')));
    Table created.
    SQL> insert into test1 values ('Y');
    1 row created.
    SQL> COMMIT;
    SQL> select from test1 where name = 'Y';* Why this statement is n't working
    no rows selected
    SQL> select * from test1;
    N
    Y
    ANOTHER INTERSTING ONE IS
    SQL> select * from test1 where name in('Y'); Why this statement is n't working
    no rows selected
    SQL> select * from test1 where name in('Y','Y'); it's working
    N
    Y
    SQL> select * from test1 where name in('','Y'); it's working
    N
    Y
    SQL> select * from test1 where name in('7','Y'); it's working
    N
    Y
    Like
    SQL> select * from test1 where name like 'Y'; it's not working
    no rows selected
    I created a table without check constraints
    SQL> create table test2 (name nvarchar2(1));
    Table created.
    SQL> insert into test2 values ('Y');
    1 row created.
    SQL> select * from test2;

    Y
    SQL> select * from test2 where name ='Y'; it's working

  • Problem with oracle.jbo.domain.Date

    Hi there,
    I've a problem with oracle.jbo.domain.Date,
    I'm doing this code (this part of code is used in my Session Attribute Listener):
    * This method is used to add the session id in the database, whenever user login

    if(!hsbe.getName().equals("user")){

    hsbe.getSession().setAttribute("login", new Date(new Timestamp(
    System.currentTimeMillis())));
    am.createLogin(hsbe.getValue().toString(), hsbe.getSession().
    getAttribute("login").toString());

    e.printStackTrace();
    System.out.println("Error insert data user: " + hsbe.getValue());
    } finally{
    Configuration.releaseRootApplicationModule(am, true);
    Everything is running well in Jdev 10.1.3 (I'm using ADF Faces technology), and I'm trying to deploy it on OC4J 10.1.2 and it works. But it raised an error when this part of code is runned.

    I am using Rational App Developer Version 6.0.1 and getting a connection using
    the below code:
              DataSource     dataSource=null ;
              Context jndiContext = new InitialContext();
              dataSource =
    (DataSource)jndiContext.lookup("java:comp/env/jdbc/DWM3DDS");
              Connection wsConn = dataSource.getConnection();
    Looks like this exception occurs when I am casting java.sql.Connection object to OracleCallableStatement. Do you have any idea why this might be occuring? Have you encountered this kind of a problem?
    Thanks,
    Nitin

    have a look in your $ORACLE_HOME/dbs directory. If the init<ORACLE_SID>.ora file has remote_login_password=exclusive then you should also have a file called orapw<ORACLE_SID>. If you haven't, then create one by running "orapwd file=orapw<ORACLE_SID> password=internal entries=5".
    This has worked for me in the past, hope it helps.
