Problems with a Qosmio F20/390L Network/Ethernet controller

I've got a problem with a Qosmio F20/390L from Japan, and I'm trying to get hold of the network drivers for it.
I've had a look on the US, UK and Japan sites, but I've had no luck. Can anyone tell me what you have in your machines if you can't tell me what I've got, so I can try my luck.
Thanks.

Hi,
you can find the LAN driver for the F20 here:

Problems with n97 apps connecting to network (Vodafone UK – 3G)
Recently a number of my apps which used to connect automatically to the internet (which ever was available – known wi-fi or 3g) have stopped doing this.  They now only connect to one known wi-fi.
I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling each app, but this hasn’t solved the problem.  I’ve checked for software updates and do not believe any have been applied or are available.  All apps have been downloaded via Ovi on the phone.  I still am able to access the internet by the web browser which was installed on the phone and via google maps (which also still manages GPS position, search, etc).
The apps which I notice causing a problem are:
    Sainsbury’s/nectar
    Tesco
    Map my tracks
    Snaptu
    Opera Mini
    Any one got any ideas???

I have the same problem since i updated my mac to 10.5.6.
Each time I have to do a diagnostic and retype the WEP password to have the internet connection.

  • HT4864 I am getting a triangle with an exclamation point next to my inbox...it says: There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account "MobileMe" or try again.  The server returned the error: Mail was unable to log in

I can send but cannot recieve email
This is the messege I am gewtting:
There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “MobileMe” or try again.
The server returned the error: Mail was unable to log in to the IMAP server “p02-imap.mail.me.com” using “Password” authentication. Verify that your account settings are correct.
The server returned the error: Service temporarily unavailable

Also if I go to system preferences accounts and re-enter the password it fixes the glitch sometimes.

  • Why do I get an "unable to connect - There may be a problem with the mail server or network." message from iCloud.  I have verified the settings.  I can access my iCloud account online but can't send or receive e-mail via the mail account.

Text limits to the "Question" link prevents a full explanation:
This is a long-time problem.  I have tried to resolve it with Apple but their "Customer Support" is merely a name.
I can go online and access my e-mail but when I try to send or receive e-mail via iCloud through my internet server (Google fiber now but the same situation existed with my prior service), I receive "There may be a problem with the mail server or network.  Verify the settings for 'Apple Email' and try again.
"The server returned the error:  The server 'p0-imap.mail.me.com' refused to allow a connection on port 143."
Well, I have verified the setting and tried again and again and …
Well, you get the idea …

Maybe you should test these things before calling people out, because these settings do function perfectly well.
iCloud is not supported on Snow Leopard or lower, why bother to mention it?
The OP has an iCloud account, and that can not be opened without Lion or Mountain Lion (on a Mac), IOS5 or 6 (on an iPhone/iPad)

  • TV-out problem with a Qosmio G20 - Scart option disappeared

I have a problem with my video board and its driver.
    I have got a Qosmio G20 with a Nvidia GeForce Go 6600.
Yesterday when I boot my notebook i have seen that some setting were disappeared.
I have tried to connect the pc with the TV in the way described here: http://support.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB4A00TK000MR01.htm
but the option scart in the tv format menu was disappeared and it was disappeared in bios setting too.
I have tried to reinstall the display driver but I haven't solved my problem.
Now i can't connect the pc with tv and this is a very big problem for me.
Please help me if you can.
thanks. (and sorry for my very bad english)

    Hi
Maybe the scart cable malfunctions or is wrong?
Some cables have a wrong PIN assignment and therefore the TV connection not functions
In my opinion the cable should be checked
The other reason for the missing PAL scart option in the BIOS could be a wrong DMI setting. But this can be checked only by a ASP.
So try to contact the technician guys and talk to them about the problem of missing PAL scart option in BIOS.

  • Problems with Installing iTunes and wireless network connection

Every time I attempt to install iTunes it completely kicks the internet off and an error comes up that the wireless network adapter to not connect or is not detected. My internet service is connected to a router which I receive wirelessly to my laptop. I do not understand why it is happening and to get the internet to work again I needed to do a system restore. Any ideas why this is happening. Also when iTunes was installed it came up correctly, it would just not connect to the net. I have had a previous version on my old laptop but since purchasing this new laptop I am having such difficulty. On another note, if this problem can be resolved, once iTunes is working is there a way to get the songs from my old computer onto the new? Thanks for the help in advance!

I just saw your post and I resolved this on mine for my wired connection. I'm willing to bet that the issue is the same for wireless. Here's what I found.
    Issue:
During the installation, iTunes installs some network components related to mobile device support over ethernet(Apple Mobile Device Ethernet Service - netaapl.inf). At the same time, according the logs, the install process removed OEM18.inf. This almost exactly coincided with the time that I saw the network connection die (preceded it by a few seconds).
Basically, iTunes appears to be removing a required network component.
    Resolution:
After installing iTunes and the network connection breaking, remove the network device from Device Manager and allow Windows to reinstall it automatically.
The following instructions are for Windows 7, but they are close enough to follow for other versions of Windows.
    1. Click the Start button (Jewel in Vista and Win7).
    2. Right-click Computer and click Manage in the menu that appears (type your password or click Yes if prompted).
    3. On the left side of hte Computer Management window, click Device Manager.
    4. Click the arrow (or plus sign) next to Network Adapters to expand that section.
    5. Right-click your network adapter and click Uninstall in the menu that appears.
    6. Click OK.
    7. Reboot.
Windows should automatically detect and reinstall your network device on boot.

  • Intermittent Print/Scan Problems with Canon MF8380Cdw on Wireless Network

For nearly a year now, I've experienced problems printing and scanning using the Canon MF8380Cdw on our network.  The most troubling are the intermitent problems getting the printer to respond during a print job after the device has been found on the network.  Less troubling but still annoying are the problems scanning: it's very difficult to initiate a scan job.  It usually requires trying to initiate the job from the printer AND from the computer in quick succession.  I have reinstalled drivers many times.  Why isn't printing and scanning effortless?
Print sequence messages in the Canon MF8300C Series print manager:
Printing - Looking for printer: takes a long time.

Printing - The printer is not responding: takes a long time; indicates failure.

Base station, laptop, and printer are all in the same corner of the same room--signal strength is not an issue. Have had problems, previously, when printer was connected to switch via ethernet.  So...  Nice thought, but I don't believe that's it.
Other things that didn't work: restarting printer, restarting computer.
Is it possible that OS updates mess with the driver, requiring reinstallation?  Our PC users do not seem to have these issues.
I am also using a non-UFR II driver this time, but per a suggestion from a forum, I tried UFR II previously.  I have read many forum exchanges involving Canon/Mac problems and have tried several solutions proposed by PAHU.
Reinstalled printer driver again today, and I can print again (for now), but it's an intermittent problem, likely to return.
    Thoughts?

  • Problems with SRW224G4 switch and Bridged Network Cards

    Hello,
We have recently installed a SRW224G4 switch and have discovered that when we plug our DELL PowerEdge 2900 server into the switch, the switch loses all network connectivity and all of the LED's on the switch start flashing.
The server works perfectly well plugged into another switch, but as soon as we introduce the SRW224G4 into the network, either with the server plugged into that switch or any other, the problem re-occurs.
The only way we found we could eliminate this issue was if we disabled the Bridged Network connection on the two network cards on the server. If we do that, everything is fine, except the network performance of the server has dropped significantly.
The server is plugged into the 1GB ports on the switch, although we tried it on the 100MB ports and received the same problems. The switch reports that the ports are running at full-duplex.
Has anyone noticed this behavior before, and more importantly been able to rectify it.
Thanks in advance for your assistance,
    Paul

I had this problem as well with any Linksys 2024 or rackmountable switch..  The trick is, you need to use the network cards management software to "team" or bridged the 2 NIC's otherwise the switch detects a loop and the whole thing locks up. So lame...  Windows built in bridge mode stinks dont use it.  When you use the Intel management software or Dell or HP's NIc management software you have the option to actually choose "redundant mode" where you can pick a Nic to be the primary, or you can choose Load Balancing where you can essentially double your throughput by joining the 2 nics.
In Windows 2008 Server, you actually do this by going to the Properties on the NIC in  Device Manger.  the software controls are now built right into the driver.  pretty neat.  2003 you can check Device Manager the same way but not sure if it's the same as 2008, you might need to run the actual NIC management app.
    Hope this helps

  • Problem with printing over the shared network printer

I have a very irritating problem.
To describe the situation. I have 2 computers and non of them is mine. First one have Windows Vista, and second one have Windows 8.1. There is also a printer which is connected with usb to the computer with Windows 8.1. I managed to share that printer on
the network, and when I connect to that printer and enter username and password (from Windows 8.1) on the pc that have Windows Vista, I can print without any problem.
The problem start when I restart the computer with Windows Vista. I can't print unless I connect to that printer again and again enter the username and password. Like Windows Vista for some reason is not storing those credentials. It is very irritating to
do that all the time, becase everything worked before like a charm.
Is there something I didn't do about those credentials, or is there some batch script that I could run in startup that will connect Windows Vista PC with that printer without any user input?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
When you restart the Vista, have you checked the credential in credential manager (Control Panel\Credential Manager)? Does it exist? You can clear cached unused credential and manually add the printer Windows Credential in the manager and check if it
    helps.
You can also use a logon script to add the printer automatically every time you logon to the PC, you can refer to thsi example, some content need to be changed depends on your configuration.

  • Problems with CS5.5 on a networked account

    Hi,
I am currently trying to use Premiere Pro CS5.5 (with updates) on a network, and having problems getting the work space screen up.
After loading up Premiere Pro, I can choose a sratch area and select my sequence settings, but after this the programme just hangs and gives me no work area.
Has anyone come across this problem before, if so is there something I need to do in order for it to bring up the work space?
Any advice/tips much appreciated, starting to do my tree in, and desperately need to get it working!
    Thanks

Rather than a not particulally helpful stock standard ' this is not Adobe supported' blah blah blah.
We all know that Adobe do not support Network Homes, and never have. We're so lucky we've been able to use workarounds at all!
Adobe should test their stuff and make their programming abstracted enough to work in these situations. Hard coded paths and making assumptions about where a users' home is is just plain bad programming.
A users' home may not be in /Users, it may not be on the same drive (lots of new machines have both SSD and HDs now), it may be on an external drive, or it *may* be on a network.
There are plenty of programmatical ways to determine this.
Having your home 'eleswhere' should not stop the program working. Are you listening Adobe? (and Microsoft).
It is not about 'supporting' network homes — its about having the program flexible enough to work with a home when that is not just in /Users.
Any way, here's some real help —
Adobe Premiere 5.5 can be made to work with a couple of symlinks.
Firstly, like Acrobat, you'll need to redirect the following folder to a local disk
         ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Premier Pro/5.5
I used MCX Folder redirection to redirect this to
         /tmp/@%/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Premier Pro/5.5
The next thing that will also help (though not sure if it is completely necessary, but certainly good practise for large video projects and files) —
I split the internal drives on my Lab machines. One partition is called 'Storage' and is read writeable by all.
I create another MCX Folder redirection for the following
         ~/Desktop/My Scratch Disk
    redirected to
         /Volumes/Storage/@%
Students are directed to save their projects into this folder on the Storage drive.
They should also be made aware that this menas their projects are specific to a particular machine, and that they may not get backed up, and can be removed at any time.
This has worked a treat in my Labs (80+ Macs) running 10.6.8 and Premiere CS 5.5 (Part of a Master Collection CS5.5 install)

  • Problems with mount and unmount of network shares

    Hi,
I use an Apple script to mount four network shares during startup of an OS 10.4.4 Powerbook. Unfortunately it seems that Tiger can't always mount them all. Sometimes it only mounts three of them, but pressing Command + K indicates that the fourth is already mounted because it's grayed out. How come I can't see it on neither the desktop nor the favorites list in a Finder window then?
I have a Tiger installation at home with Ciscos VPN Client 4.8 installed. I use that VPN client to gain access to the company's network. When the connection is established, I mount a share (with AFP over TCP/IP) on the company's server running Win2003 and ExtremeZ-IP.
When I close down Ciscos VPN Client, the mounted network share doesn't unmount automatically, and if I forget to toss that network drive in the trash before closing down or restarting my Mac, it hangs. Why can't it just unmount that drive automatically when the VPN connection is gone?

This may happens because broadcasts do not go through an IPSec tunnel.
Browsing Network Neighborhood is a function of the Microsoft browsing service. Any problems are usually because the PC or master browsers do not function properly. Network Neighborhood is officially not supported. However, it works if configured correctly. Browsing Network Neighborhood works by obtaining the browse list from either a master or backup browser. This list is obtained locally on your LAN by using NetBIOS Broadcasts to locate domain browsers.
    Inorder to resove this :
Make sure you have NetBIOS over TCP enabled on the adapter that you use to connect to the domain.

  • Why does my iphone 6 have problems with wifi no matter what network I am on?

It doesnt matter what network I am connected to.  I will have connection issues or dropped signal strength.  My phones wifi strength will go from 433 Mb/s ac to 72 Mb/s n.  Yet on my ipad Air 2, iphone 5s, apple TV and mac mini there are no problems.  I have had this phone for less then 4 days and I had to return 2 other phones with the same problem.  I have reset it many times as told in some of the apple communities with the same problem.  Is it the phones iOS or what?  How do I fix this?

Try going to Settings> General > reset> Reset Network Settings
then reconnect to your wifi then  see if the issue persists, if it does, make sure you are testing this on other wifi networks, if the issue persists, call into applecare and set up repair.
