Production Order (automatic splitting)

Hi All,
At present when i convert a planned order to production order, the BOM items are copied & a single work order is created. But some of the components in that order are not in stock & hence shows up as shortage. What i would want to do is, while creating the order, create one work order which has a list of all materials which has no material shortage & another work order which contains the remaining items which has shortage. In short a splitting of the planned order into 2 work orders, one which contains no shortage of material & other which has those items which at the moment has shortage. I want to do this automatically, so is there any way i can customize this? I hope my question is clear, await inputs.
Vivek

Hi,
You can check the stock qty manually & then do partial convertion manually.
I am not sure of automatic splitting.
Also you can do a setting in the availablity check (opjk) that no order should be created if there is a material shortage. This will help you since if there is a shortage then no prod. orders will be created. You can then check the stock available & create a prod order by partial convertion.

  • Production order: Automatic Generation of settlement rule .......

    Hi Gurus,
I am trying to settle a production order to a cost center. I have already define a settlement profile with Cost center as the default reciever and assigned it to the Order type but when I tried to settle it, I have to create a distirbution rule manually every time. Is this some thing to do with the strategy sequence? I have done a lot of research but the system doesnt give me any option for autmatically generating a settlement rule or assigning strategy sequence to order type for production order. I found some thing for Internal orders, but still i cant do it. Would any of you please help me. I would appreciate if you put the steps with the trxn codes.
    Thanks

    Dear.
As I know, there're no way to generate settlement rule of production order automatically such as that of WBS(network).
In settlement profile, If you want automatic fuction, you can only set PA segment as receiver addionally.
What you want to do is the price difference(PRD-PRF) of production order be settled? then, why don't you make automatic account assignment(OKB9)?
Generally, assumed using PA segment as receiver, we don't make price difference account as cost element, But, In your case, If you want to settle all amount of that to fixed cost center, specify that cost element to cost center by OKB9 instead of adding cost center in settleme rule.

  • Assign batch number from sale order to production order automatic

Dear all, I have a question for all. Please help me in this case
My scenario is make to order
I have a sale order, when i create sale order, i have assigned batch number at each line item.
When i run MRP for sale order (MD50), the system generate a planned order for it and I've converted to production order.
So when I view production order, I think that batch number what I've assigned to sale order will be assign to production order but that is not happen.
So, can you help me solve this problem. I think that sap can assign batch number from sale order to production order automatic but i don't know how to configure that
    Thanks all

    Hi,
To the best of my knowledge, when system is generating planned order / production order from sales order system doesnt copy batch number from sales order.
In fact , you are following wrong practice for generating batch no.
    Follow procedure like this :
Create sales order without any batch assigning there. Run MRP with MD50 and then convert planned order to Production Order.
While creation / releasing of Production order, you have option to generate batch automatically by following way :
Go to OPKP (Production Scheduling Profile) -> Take your plant & give suitable name to Production scheduling profile-> Batch Management tab -
    > Automatic Batch creation in the order maintain this field as
1     Automatic batch creation at order creation
    or
2     Autom. batch creation at order release
This will generate batch number automatically at the time of creation or release of order.
Then follow same process i.e. Goods Issue, Confirmation & GR for production order.
So you will get sales order stock in the form of batch managed.
Check & revert if any issue in above flow.

  • Batch determination in production order automatically for component

    Hi Experts
Please understand the scenario and conclude the results
Few of RM is having Batch management where Stock are lying into different production shop floor location XXXX and those RM is used into one production order of Finished Goods where System will not picking batch into production order , that we are putting by checking availability and than putting correct Shop floor Storage location and correct Batch in which stock is lying.
now the above activity i want to perform through automatic batch determination which will system pick by default in which stock is exist in shop floor location. please suggest me step by step procedures for the same. few idea i have but i need clear guidelines....
    Thanks in advance..
    Pankaj Agarwal

    Pankaj,
You can define the production storage location in BOM component details under Status/Lng Text or in MRP2  production storage location so that system will do the reservation by default for this production storage location and also good issue will be from same storage location.
Against this reservation you can transfer the stock from stores to shopfloor.
Check below SAP note for more information

  • Production Order Variance Split based on Cost Component Split

    Hi All,
We want the material/labor/overhead variances on the production Order to go to different value fields in the P&L.
We will be issuing Actual Material/Overheads to the Production order and there will variances for both Material and Overheads due to differene in Standard and Actual Qty issued.
But Standard SAP Variance Split Functionality will club the Material/Labor/Overhead Variances as Input Qty Variances so we cannot split it into different lines in the P&L.
Any ideas on how this can be done.
    Thanks and regards,
    Ankur

    Hi Ankur
Its not possble in FI, but certainly possible in COPA
Create as many assignment lines in PA Trf Str as your Cost Comp Structure...
Assign the relevant GL/Cost ele in the SOURCE and choose the radio button "Costs/Revenues", instead of "Variances"
You can then assign each assignment to a separate Val Field in COPA

  • FM or BAPI for production order component split batch

    Hi,
I'm trying to split a production order component quantity into batchs with FM or BAPI.
Using BAPI_ALM_ORDER_MAINTAIN i can create or modify components but i can't set field split batch flag SPLKZ and reference SPLVR.
    Can you help me?

In standard product order process in CO02 when i split material with standard function I obtain several lines. These new lines refer to the originale one by fields SPLVR and SPLKZ.
    Eg. In operation 0010 i've 10 PC of MATERIAL1
    Item
    Material
    Qty
    Batch
    Batch Key (SPLKZ)
    Itm no stock (SPLVR)
    0010
    MATERIAL1
    10 PC
In CO02 i take MATERIAL1 from BATCH1 and BATCH2 the final result is
    Item
    Material
    Qty
    Batch
    Batch Key (SPLKZ)
    Itm no stock (SPLVR)
    0010
    MATERIAL1
    1
    1
    0010
    MATERIAL1
    7 PC
    BATCH1
    2
    1
    0010
    MATERIAL1
    3 PC
    BATCH2
    2
    1
So I'm trying to reproduce this standard behavior with BAPI or FM.

  • Releasing production order automatically on clicking approve tab

    Hi ,
I am working on workflows for production order and my scenario is when new production order will create then  workflow will send mail to approver containing link to execute workitem. when approver clicks on that link then it will login into SAP and show that very workitem with approve and reject tabs. till now everything is working fine but my user wants when approver clicks on approve tab then that production order will automatically be released as he dont want to go into co02 for manual release.
Please suggest me how can this be possible as its urgent.
    points will be rewarded.
    Thanks,
    Rahul

First you check the standard BOR object type to see if it has a method for releasing the production order, and if one is found you use it in a step in your workflow.
If the standard BOR object type does not have a method for releasing the production order, you have to extend it in a subtype with a custom method for releasing the production order. If you have an existing subtype you can just add a new method, otherwise you must first create a new object type as a subtype of the SAP standard object type, and then add your custom method for releasing the production order. You can delegate the standard object type to your subtype so you can call the new method directly from the standard object type, or add a step which will create an object of your subtype before the step that uses your custom method. Don't forget to set the status of the object type and method to implemented (or released).

  • Mark a user status in production order automatically through user exit.

    Hi all,
I have a requirement....I have a user profile which has got 4 status one of them is MFAR.
I need to check this status through an exit automatically so that it appears in the status line
and does not allow for goods receipt at the time of order creation through CO01 .
I have earlier tried with EXIT_SAPLBSVA_001 but this is only for formatting the text line whether I want to display that status. So it is not working for my case.
I could not find any exit for checking the checkbox for user status MFAR.
    Thanks and Regards
    Sweta

    Hi Anup,
Have you used this exit for the purpose I mentioned as this is not just a simple header field it is status.
How do I mark any user status as active through this exit. Can you give any idea?
    Thanks and Regards

  • Automatic goods issue of components upon creation of Production Order

    Hello gurus.
The business would like to have the components in a Production Order automatically issued (with Movement Type 261) upon the creation of a Production Order.
I was investigating this possibility under the Production Scheduling Profile option in IMG, but there is no automatic action for this.
Do you know of another way this could be achieved? I'd like to do this preferably without having to implement User Exits or Batch Jobs.

    Fernando,
Automatic goods issue is not possible.
But you can certainly think of backflushing the components while confirming the order with CO15 or CO11N.
Make the required settings in material master, work center or routing. It will get copied to the order.
The same can be maintained in the order too.
There is one more option available in 'Define confirmation parameters' T code OPK4.
    Execute the above T code.
In 'Generally valid settings', mark 'All components' under 'Goods moveemnt'.
Also in 'General individual entry'  under 'Error handlings/ logs' mark ''Goods movement'  & if required mark 'Termination for incorrect goods movement' so that if any problem arises with the GI/ GR, the termination would be terminated.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Automatic creation of Production order through Project

    Hi all,
Could you pls  explain how we can create production orders automatically through a project

Dear Mr Smith / Rama Shanker
I have read the reply posted by you and is very usefull . Can you please tell us the Tcode to be used for the mentioned steps in your reply .
Also kindly help me on the following requirement .
In our business scenario we have to define seperate budget for Material procurement and seperate budget for Manufacturing expenses .  To achieve this , one posiible option can be that Purchase Requisition (for Procurement) are generated in reference of one WBS element and PR for production order are generated in reference of another WBS element . But as FERT (material with BOM) is assigned to aan activity in one WBS element then during MRP run all requirement  (PR plus Production Order) will be in reference of the same WBS . So how can we distinguish between them .
Or there may me some other alternate option which we are aware off .
Kindly help us . We assure to award full points for the suggested solution pl .

  • Selecting New Production version while Splitting a Production Order

    Hi SAP Gurus,
Is there any option of selecting a New Production Version for a split Production Order?
I have a production Order with three operations 10.20 and 30. This production Order is curently using the Production Version 001. Now , i have split the production order at Operation 30 and want to select new production Version 002 for the same.
Can you please let me know if this is possible?

    Hi Sandeep,
If you don't mind can you please let me know for what purpose you want to assign a new production version to production order after splitting at operation 30?
To quickly recap, Production version is used if you have alternative BOM or alternative routings for a material. Based on Production Version that you have assigned in Material Master - MRP screen, your Routing and BOM details are selected.
So how is this Production Version 002 different from Production Version 001 - is it in terms of routing or bom?

  • Automatic capture of batch number as production order

    Hi,
How to make the order number to capture automatically while confirming the production order. As it should pick the order by default in the goods movement screen.
Abap coding and user exit to perform this.

    Hi,
Batch determination uses characteristic values assigned to batch classification for sorting batches and make a selection. A series of customization steps should be completed for batch determination. You will have to learn by reading SAP help or threads throughout this forum. Check out threads below.

According to which criteria do you want batches to be selected, order name? Are there batches in the system named after production order for components of the order? No matter what, selection must be based on batch characteristics.

  • Automatic GR for Production Order

    hi,
after partial confirmation or TECO of my production order, automatic GR should be done.
For example, i created my production order for 100 quantities. i partially confirmed the order with 50 quantities. My requirement is whenever i confirmed the quantity, then GR should be done respective production order.
Where i have to do the settings for this.
because if i went for WIP, without GR it is showing full quantity.
    Srinivas

    Hi Sateesh,
For automatic GR to happen, you can use "Backflushing" option. The configuration required has to be done by PP cosnultant in "Operations". Whenever you confirm some quantity in "Conform Operations - CO11N" and when you save, GR will be will be posted automatically for that quantity. You dont have to post GR manually.

  • How the material PRT issue/receipt to the production order can be handled?

    Hi PP Gurus,
For one of our clients, the handling of PRT is to be controlled with the issue/receipt for the production order.
    1. What is the procedure for issue/receipt of PRT material in the SAP?
    2. What is the procedure to block the PRT for the creation/release of production order when it was already assigned to the other production order during the same time?
    3. The PRT is to be available automatically once the assigned production order operation is confiremd. How it can be handled in the SAP?
    Appreciate your early response.
    Thanks,
    Reddy.

    Hi Ramanujam,
            Thanks for your response.
         1. The dies can be used for the production of Pressing, Casting and Forging etc. These dies will be managed in the stores. The stores representatives will issue the die to the shop floor for an operation of a production order. They will return back the die once the production is completed at that operation using the die. How to map this process in the SAP.
Typically, these dies can be treated as PRT materials in the SAP system.
         2. OPJK configuration is not sufficient. The same PRT will be assigned to the many production orders during the same time. The system won't block with only this setting. There are some other steps involved to complete the process.
I would like to know the complete procedure with all the steps to block the PRT once it was assigned to the production order operation. The same PRT is to be available for other production orders automatically once the operation is confirmed after production.

  • Machines with different Capacities in a production order

i am have the  Machines of Different Capacities( Ex Machine A :2pcs/hr &  Machine B:4 Pcs Hr).
i have Maintained the Work centers as Same Name.
In actaual Production i want to use both the Machines.
How to maintain in the  Routing .This is only one Operation and i want to use both the Machine.
    Ex :Prod Order Qty :100
I want to use Machine A to manufacture the 60 Qty and use the Machine B for 40 Qty.
    Please give me the Solution

    Dear laks,
I think this will help.  If you have maintained individual capacity as 2 for eg, for machine oriented capacity category then pl maintain the individual capacity details for  those 2 nos. You can give the individual capacities what ever name u like for eg Punch press 10ton, Punch Press 20 ton etc.
Note: you can access the individual capacities in the menu bar "goto - Individual capacities" of the relevant capacity category.
Once you have maintained this, you can assign these individual capacities  in your production order.  You have to enter into the production order operations, double clik on the operation number which has got this WC, then enter into Cap. req assignement tab.  There u can enter the individual capacities detail and assign the quantities for the individual capacities as well.  Also, the capacites will be split and despatched as well.
During the confirmation process, in CO11n, you have to mention the split number as well other than your confirmation / order number.  The system will validate this quantities with the production order capacities split qty.
Regarding parallel routing, i think this will only work if you have two different work centers.
If the scenarios  is always like this, i think it would be preferable to create two diff work centres and like the other members of the forum have suggested, a parallel routing would be ideal.
