Production orders ending month in zero

Hi, in the PP module we had some of our production orders end up in zero at the end of the month due to the fact that the plant was shutdown for maintenance purposes.
When finance was doing the month end closing they experienced some problems with those orders in zero. They suggested, and I have also read in other forums to put a 0.01 quantity on the production orders.
What would you experts recommend?
Thanks

Hi,
Can you explain the rationale of this requirement?
What if the lead time of the material is say 5 days & the order is to start on say 28th or 29th of the month, it will by default extend over to next month.
If the qns is simply to know if in system you can manage this need, yes you can do it with a user-exit -> PPCO007 or BADi -> WORKORDER_INFOSYSTEM (method - AT_SAVE), where you can do a check on order header dates & prevent saving if it does not meet your criteria.

  • Automatic Creation of Production order per month

    Hello Gurus,
Good Day! Is it possible to schedule creation of production order in background for certain material per month basis?
    Thank you,
    raymond

    Hi Raymond,
If the suggestion of REM does not work for your requirement, then take the help of your ABAPer use one of the below BAPI's & create a Z prog. for creation of order as required.
    1. Prdn order frm plnd order -> BAPI_PRODORD_CREATE_FROM_PLORD
    2. Prdn order -> BAPI_PRODORD_CREATE
    3. Prdn oder with ref -> BAPI_PRODORD_CREATE_FROM_REF
Alternatively, create one order & keep it open for the entire year, just do monthly wip calc & at the end of financial year settle the order completely.

  • Alternate material issue against production order if stock is zero

    Hi,
I have one requirement  we have 3 material codes
X, Y and Z.  Material X is present in the Bom of ABC  material Y and Z are not in any BOM  but both those codes are use for procurement of material and can be use insted of X  but due to some requirement as material of different make  we dont want to combine the stock of all.
Now as per BOM when material for ABC is issue as per BOM  the 'X'  will get issue   but in case  the X stock is zero  system should check stock of Y   and if it is avalibale  then it should issue from Y  insted of X and if Y stock is zero  system should check for Z  if stock is there system should issue from Z.
    can this map in system.
    regards,
    zafar

    Hi,
While maintaining BOM for FG, maintain all materials X, Y & Z with same qty.
For material line items Y & Z, maintain "AltItemGroup" at Item Detail level.
    Here enter any key for e.g. "AL" and Press enter then it will ask for following;
    Priority
    Strategy - (1 - Manual maintenance/by usage probability OR 2 - 100% check)
    Usage prob.
After maintaining all these just check the effect in transaction production order, reservation, confirmation.

  • Connection between serial numbers in production order end confirmation

    Hi all,
could you tell me if is possible in co11n to chose serial numbers already generated during the creation of production order?
I set an automatic generation of serial numbers in saving of co01.. can I decide in co11n which serial number of a precise prod.order to confirm?
    Thanks,
    Valentina

    Thanks for your answer,
I'm using this way to do you suggested me.. but the problem is this:
    For ex:
    Prod. order A
Quantity of prod. order = 100
    Quantity already confirmed 50
I have to put in warehouse only 5 finished prducts, but  when I use migo 101 for a GR, the system proposes to me 100 serial numbers from which I can select 5 sn; next time whene I have to select 5 others serial numbers, the system proposes to me all the 100 serial numbers again..
I'd like to find a way to eliminate from the serial numb. list in migo 101 the sn that I've already selected before.
For this I can force the storage to "blank" in the list selection, but if another production order B, for the same material exists, how can I know which of those serial numbers belongs to the order A and which to the order B?

  • To see the cost of production order  after settlement to header material

    hello guys,
In make to stock,we settle the total cost of prodution order on header material, right(if we keep as the default rule( distribution rule in order type)?
If i want to see that cost of production order which we settled against the header material, where should i check it?should i check in material account or somewhere else?
             Thanking you guys in advance.

    Dear,
There is a little missunderstanding in your thought.
If the material of price control S, When you do the GR, the STD cost of material is deducted from production order cost, then when you settle the production order, the variance is settled to variance account/PD account. hence the production order cost balance is zero.
Example- Production order cost is 60000
After GR the production order cost balance is 60000-50000 = 10000.
After settlement production order cost balance is zero.
Now your question is where can i see the production order cost?
You can see the production order cost in the production order itself.
In the production order...cost disply option just filter the origin with test settlement and GR.
Then total up the cost, then you can see the cost as 60000.
please come back if you need more help.

  • Accounting Entries for Materials Return from Production Order

    Dear Gurus,
I have a scenario here that a raw material, valuated at moving average = 151 and qty = 100, was issued to a production order last month. Due to some issue the order was not completed for a while and 93 qty was  consumed for the order and because the remaining 7 were excess they were returned to the storage location. By that time the MOV had changed from 151 to 185 and the 7 qty was returned not at 151 (which would be correct) but at 185. This is a wrong accounting entry as it is showing an under consumption for the order.
Anyone have an idea why the system is doing this because the material should be returned on the price it was issued at so that the accounting entries are knocked off (The accounting entries for return deliveries to vendors are of the same price that they are recieved no matter how ever long a period they are returned). How do we stop the system from doing so and if it cannot be done what is the solution to the scenario.
    Regards,

    The normal entires are as follows (depending on your configuration);
    1) Goods issue;
    Credit inventory and debit COGS;
    2) Billing document;
    Debit customer account credit sales accounts;
    3) Payment;
Credit customer account and debit cash/ checking account
pls assign points if helpful as a way to say thanks.

  • Confirmation of production order cancel

    dear experts
I want to cancel one producter order(last month), but want to set the posting data as current month, if OK, This may not affect the previous month's data.
but CO13,  can not change the posting data.
is this business requirement reasonable? if yes ,how to realize?
    best regards
    lee

    Hi,
In std. system it is not possible to specify the cancellation date in CO13. The cancellation will be done on the same date as the confirmation posted.
Since it is last month, just discuss with your FI/ Co person & proceed with the cancellation.
    Hope it clarifies.

  • CO Production Order month end closing and settlement question

We are a utility without PP module.  We use CO Production Order to accumulate costs of assembling components (parts and labor) into a material number that we receipt into inventory.  We have questions about month end closing process and the settlement of these CO Production Orders when receipts are not complete or labor is not completely entered at month end.
Basically we need to know how other non-manufacturing companies handle the settlement process.

    Hi,
The Month end Activities are as follows
Clearing the open items of vendor, customer
    Clearing the suspense account regularly
All the Expenses Including the prepaid expenses have to be booked..
    Intercompany Balances Should be Zero
    Depreciation Run.
    Recuring Entries.

MM period Close and Open (Tcode MMVP)
    FI Period Open(Tcode OB52).
    CO period Closing
    Year End Process
All the Month end Activities should be Carried Out.
Balance Carried Forwarded to next year(F.16)

  • Month end closing - production order status

    Hello,
I am requesting the information, can I  carry  the month end closing and account for only production orders having the TECO system status rather than considering production orders with the DLV status.
Where in SPRO these parameters are being adjusted .
    Thanks and Regards
    Artur

    Hi,
For settlement, the Order Status Should be TECO and/or DLV.
If it is not TECO also, with DLV status syetm will consider the Order for Settlement.
With BS22 (Maintain System Statuses) you can handle the Situation..
Travel to I0045 - TECO- Double Click on that.
    Please refer this link also

  • CO-Production Order Settlement at Month End

    Hi Expert
We are using CO- Production Orders for making sample materials; the problem is that at month end when I run the settlement with CO88 at plant level system settled my CO-PO orders including release status orders. I want to settle only those orders whose status is TECO Technically Completed.
Can any body have an idea that why system settled my Release CO-PO order, I donu2019t want these orders to be settled in month end?
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards
    Ashfaq

    Hi Ashfaq
System is correct in doing this... All orders Including REL & over and above status REL would settle
If you wanna ignore them, then best option is to
    a. Check the Order status from Table JEST
    b. Settle them from KO88 using an LSMW
You can also use Program SE38-RKO7CO88.. This provides you multiple selection options... Ask your ABAP consultant to
    a. Create a Z T code using RKO7...
    b. create a SEARCH HELP so that you can select orders based on STATUS in RKO7CO88

  • Target Cost was zero in production order

    Hello,
We are experiencing every 1st day of the month target cost was zero for those production order which basic start date was on the 1st day of the month, this happen last march and this april it also happening but in january and february we did not experienced this issue. we wonder how this happening to us, since as we check those production order which basic start date was on the 2nd date and prior all has values in its target cost, this is for same finished material. How was this happening to our plant? how can we check and resolve this issue? am on a PP guy, as i have check the data of those order nothing peculiar for me, and it those material has cost estimate ok, this was released on the 01.01.2009 in this costing run will last untill of the year this was also been seen in the material master data current cost estimate.
As we have search for the performance assistant in SAP it thus tells us:
    Total Target Costs
Total value of the target costs.
    Calculated with the following formula:
Total target costs = Target cost debit + Target cost credit.
    Use
Target costs are the planned costs adjusted to the actual operating rate.
The target debit on a manufacturing order is the sum of the activity-independent planned debit of the order and the activity-dependent planned debit of the order multiplied by the actual quantity of the order.
The target credit of a manufacturing order results from the goods receipt postings to stock. The delivered actual quantity is valuated with the planned price according to the price control.
The total value of the target costs is the sum of the target debit and the target credit.
The target costs are calculated during variance calculation and updated to the database.
The target costs cannot be shown until you have performed variance calculation for this target cost version. The target credit for the calculation of the total variances and production variances cannot be calculated until an actual quantity for an order exists after a goods receipt posting.
For the calculation of variances, the target costs are compared with the control costs.
    Dependencies
The calculation of target costs depends on the selected target cost version.
But still we don't know how to check the issue and fixed it:
Please help us and guide us to resolve this issue
    Thanks

    Hi,
in some more details i have found out on our issue, one of the prerequisite for our variant calculation is Variance calculation at the manufacturing order level requires that the order is fully delivered (final confirmation is done) and technically completed ( except order pass through the mid night of period end ). Those informations can be displayed in the manufacturing order status.
order should be TECO right? but as said on this order pass through the mid night of period end can be have variance calculation, thus am right? this could be affect why the target cost was zero?
    Thanks

  • Process/Production Order WIP Reverse on Month starting date with postiing d

    Hi Experts,
Is it possible to reverse the WIP of Production/Process Order at month starting date eg. 01/07/09. Posting date & Document date should be: 01/070/09.
In my current project production is batch management system. Some of the batches start at month ending days (Eg. 29/06/09) for we calculated WIP at dated: 30/06/09.
My Client wants to reverse that WIP next day, month starting hours Eg. 01/07/09 but while reversing the WIP system is posting the WIP reversing doc. posting date is 31/07/09.
Same batch which started production on 29/06/06 is closed at 03/07/09 as well as goods received same date. FG Stock A/c updated in accounting books.
At the same day If I print my trail balance system showing the Stock value double (WIP stock as well as FG stock)
    First Month
Eg. Process Order WIP at 30/06/09                              : 50000/-INR
    Second Month
WIP Reversal Posting date:31/07/09 by system     : 50000/-INR
          FG Stock received at 03/07/09                               : 50000/-INR
If I Print Trail Balance on 03/07/09 system shows        : 1, 00, 000/-INR (based on Posting date)
    Which is wrong..
Please tell me the way for Change the Posting date of WIP reverse document. OSS guys are replying as consulting issue.

  • Production Order Cancellation with "Period month/year is not open error"

    Hello friends,
We have this scenario wherein we already "confirmed" Production Order booking for a specific operations which was booked for the month of Sept 2009 using TCODE: CO11 and our Financial transaction was also closed for the month of Sept 2009.
However, the said booking was incorrect and we need to cancel the said Production Order booking using CO13 and unfortunately we encountered Goods Movement Error Message - "Period 009/2009 is not open for account type M and GL 115700".
The cancellation of production order only took place on the month of Oct 2009 wherein our Sept 2009 Financial transactions were already closed.
May I ask how we can cancel the said Confirmed Production Order Booking without opening the Sept 2009 Financial Transaction and be able to process the transaction by taking effect the changes on the month of Oct 2009.
    Thank you!
    Bong

  • Production order Target cost Zero - Varience calculation error KV151

    Hi Experts,
I am having an issue on KKS2 variance calculation, system throwing error KV151 Target cost is 'Zero'
All pre-requisites are ok including BOM, Rates, Routings etc..
    Process:
Production order with FERT - valuated material,
All BOM components in production order are Non valuated stock items, Non-stock items
Note: Cost Estimat e is for Labor and Overhead only.
After production order confirmation CO11N, production order Cost analysis displays - Target value ("Zero") and actual value.
Due to above reason in KSS2 we are unable to calculate variance, system displayed error KV151.
I cannot settle the production order, guide if I am missing some thing in config. ?
    I appreciate you quick response.
    Thanks,
    RK

Thanks for your reply Swapvik & Takashi, I have no issues on configuration side very thing looks good.
    Cost estimate - Good
    Variance key - Good
Production order - FERT (Valuated) - good
BOM components - UNBW, NLGS only - Good
    Labor rates - good
    Periods - good
    Production order confirmation - Good
    Actual cost - Good
My Issue is Target cost is zero on cost analysis in CO03 but if I can see target cost in KKBC_ORD report.
I am unable to calculate variance and settlement.
    I appreciate your response.
    Thanks,
    Raj

  • Production Order WIth Zero Quantity

In 8.8, can a Production Order having a zero total quantity be closed or released?

Thanks everyone for the quick response!
Here is the customers current business process:
    - a batch of chemicals is being produced
    - the batch is quality checked during production against product specifications
    - if the batch fails the quality check, it is "put aside" (not in inventory) for later re-work
    - do not want to affect inventory levels for this rejected batch
    - the "set aside" rejected product is remixed to produce a batch that passes QC
    - the "good" batch is inventoried in the normal way
