Project Progress Calculation

Dear All,
I have query for project progress calculation.
As you know that we have std project progress reports( CNE1/ CNE5), In these reports , project progress are calculated monthwise because as per the prerequisite of CNE1 report, input parameter is period ( month, year). If client wants project progress report on a specific date e.g. 15.11.2008 then system gives the progress report , considering plan poc by the end of the month Nov i.e. 30.11.2008, not upto 15.11.2008.
If you faced such scenario, please share your experience.

  • Error in Project Progress Config and process steps

    Hi experts,
I am implementing PS for Asset procurement, in this i will procure material against material component which is added in Internal activity. I am using scheduling also. Now My client requirement is that he want project progress report on cost basic.
    I am using CJ40, CJ30 and CJ32.
IN IMG i have configured like given below
    1. I have created Progress version 100
EV base - Cost Plan ( active Proejct, Annual Value)
        POC weighting - Weight
        Planning type - Basic dates
        Early/Late - Earliest Possible
Actual method and Ref plan method tick.
    2. Measurement method -
for cost based report i have selected - Cost proportional
    3. Default value for measuremnt method -
100 -WBS element - Plan - Cost proportional
        100 - WBS element - Actual - Cost proportional
        100 - Acitvity ( int)- Actual - Cost proportional
        100 - Acitvity ( int)- Actual - Cost proportional
I have put this in CJ20N. I followed following steps
    1. CNE1
    2. CNE5
but it is showing 0 value in all tabs such as Aggregate planned percentage of completion, Non-aggregated planned percentage of completion
can anyone tell me the total process to get this report perfectly. It is very urgent need so please help me guys.
    Thanks,

    Hi,

    2) in activity go to progress tab enter your version, give your method for plan and actual give the work measurement method and weightage give 1
    3) now confirm the activities if partial confirmation enter the degree of processing (%).
    4) goto progress calculation screen and give your project number and select with hierachy and with orders. enter the month and year.

  • Problem in Project progress

    Hi,
I am facing problem in Project progress report CNE5.
System is calculated 300 % poc in Adjusted aggregated actual POC & Aggregated actual POC field only after full confirmed the activity (Degree of Processing is showing in report as 100%).
If I confirmed 50 % then system is showing above value 0% .
Also while CNE1 system is taking default method as :SAP 0-100, so i changed it into activity by 00006 (Work) then system calculate the Progress but only after full confirmation, but again it is 300%. which should not.
    The configuration settings are as
    1. Progress Version: -
    Progress Version : 100
    Plan Version          : 0
    EV Basis                 : 1 ( Cost Plan)
POC weighting      : 4 Work, Basic ( Active Project)
    2. Group of Progress version:-
    Controlling Area & 1
    3. Assign Progress Versions to Group Progress Versions:-
    Controlling Area, 100 & 1
    4. Define Statistical Key Figure for Percentage of Completion:-
Usage               SKF (with unit of measurement= %)
           Controlling area                   1 10
           Controlling area                    2 20
           Controlling area                    3 30
    5. Define Measurement Methods:-
    Measurement method :0000000006 (Work)
Meas. technique  : E ( Degree of Processing)
    Max POC                : 100
    6. Define Measurement Method as Default Value
Progress version(100),  Object Type (2:Activity, Internal Processing), Plan/ Actual( 1 &2 :both), Method (00000006 :Work)
7.Maintain Assignment of Cost Element Group
Cost element (PS) , Default selection( Yes) & cost element group(PS_PROP)
I hope above information is sufficient.
My problem is system is calculating poc only after full confirmation but i want at partial confirmation. Also after full confirmation poc is showing 300% which i want 100%.

  • Project progress vs % Work complete

    Hi,
As far as I've read the %Complete field doesn't state the progress of the project. I would like to see how much work has been done (% Work complete) and compare it against a percentage that's the same as days past since beginning divided by total duration
times 100%. So in a project lasting 100 working days, I want this project progress at 50% after 50 working days and compare it against the % Work complete. Is there an option to do this?
If this function isn't available by default, I would have to use some custom fields in which is calculated:
The number of working days passed since the startdate of the project
The total number of working days (equals duration)
Divide the days passed by the days total * 100%

    Hi Jan,
Thanks for the quick response! Can see you work with a Dutch version of MSP. ;) Are you in Belgium?
In the meantime I was trying myself to accomplish it. I did it like this:
    Custom Duration 1: ProjDateDiff([Project Start];Date();"Standard")
    Custom Duration 2: ProjDateDiff([Project Start];[Project Finish];"Standard")
    Custom Text 1: Round([Duration1]/[Duration2]*100) & " %"
Starting to like MS P!! :)
Is there any possibility to only show this for the Project Summary (ID 0)?

  • Project Interest Calculation

    Dear Experts,
I am using Project Interest Calculation Scenario. I want to calculate Interest@12% for the Balance Sheet A/c, but due to non availabilty of Cost Elements for B/L Accounts i cant define a value categories for the same. Can anyone suggest me how to calculate Interest for B/L accounts( For Projects).I tried with assigning Commitment Items also to Value Categories, but still the problem is there. Please help.
    Rgds
    Rohit

I have not worked with interest calculation...but when i look into customizing settings...it seems u have to define interest indicator, then general terms for interest indicator.....define reference interest rates and assign value to this reference interest rates....then in time dependent terms, u have to assign reference interest rates to the interest indicator....this interest indicator will be assigned to interest profile.

  • Milestone Configs in Project progress

    Hi Friends,
Pls. Send me the Usage of Milestone in Project progress and Milestone trend analysis.
What are all the config. has to do?
    Looking for your speedy response.
    Regards
    Prabu K

This can be configured using Milestone Billing.
    1. Create New Sales Order Type, say ZOR (Copy of OR) through T.Code: VOV8
Maintain Delivery Type as LF & Billing Type As 'F1' - Order Related / 'F2' Delivery Related.
IMG > Sales and Distribution > Sales > Sales Documents > Sales Document Header > Define Sales Documents Types
    2. Assign New Sales Document Type to Sales Area, For Eg:
    1000 (S.Org) / 10 (D.Channel) / 10 (Division) / ZOR (S.O Type)
IMG > Sales and Distribution > Sales > Sales Documents > Sales Document Header > Assign Sales Area to Sales Document Type
    3. Create New Item Category, say ZTAN - Copy of TAN (For delivery Related) / ZTAD - Copy of TAD (For Order realted) / ZTAS - copy of TAS (For Third Party)
Maintain as under (others remaining same)
    Billing Relevance: I
    Billing Plan Type: 01
IMG > Sales and Distribution > Sales > Sales Documents > Sales Document Item > Define Item Category
    4. Assign Item Category, for ex (assuming Usage & higher level item category as blank):
Sales Document Type | Item Category Group | Default Item Category
    ZOR | NORM | ZTAN
    ZOR | DEIN | ZTAD
    ZOR | BANS | ZTAS
IMG > Sales and Distribution > Sales > Sales Documents > Sales Document Item > Assign Item Category
Note: In the above Billing Type '01' plays the main controller for milestone billing.  In Sales order, at item level, we require to maintain the billing plan.
Follow the Sales cycle as normal sales cycle for particular Scenarios

  • Project Progress

    Dear All,
Please suggest in case of my following scenario:
If I want to measure the project progress on the basis of work completed on each activities under several wbs and then total of project under which these WBS come.
I am using progress version with basis as Work. Assigning Degree of completion as measuring method to actual method in Progress Tab of each activity(Both Internal and external).
In CNE5 i get the correct % of work and weight for each activity.
But when I assign weight to the WBS above these activities and suppose there are three parallel WBS like this then I canot access the work done for each WBS.
As SAP does not allow % of work done for WBS.
    Can somebody suggest something please.
    Thanks in advance

  • Project Progress Catch-up Plan

    Dear PS Friends,
I would like to know if any of you have worked on Project Progress Catch-up Plan.
Basically, it is the third dashed-curve which comes in a project progress graph of plan vs actual to cover u2013up the delay.
Below is an example to explain this.
    M3 being the current month.
    Months     M1     M2     *M3*     M4     M5     M6     M7     M8     M9
    Plan PoC     0%     12%     20%     35%     42%     52%     60%     72%     90%
    Actual PoC     2%     7%     12%
    Catch-up               12%     18%     24%     40%     52%     72%
If yes, please let me know and also how we can implement in SAP PS.
Thanks in advance for your help!
    Regards,
    Aparna

    Hi Abdul,
We are using the planned dates and actual dates spread over duration to calculate the monthly PoC.
Now, if there is a delay i.e. there is a variance between planned and actual, then we need to reschedule   or u2018crashu2019 the project .
This in turn will give us a new planning curve that would need to be followed  in order to make up for the delay.
But the problem is that if we reschedule, the original plan is overwritten and hence, the u2018baselineu2019 vanishes.
So the requirement is that in CNE1 , we should be able to calculate three set of dates u2013 original planned PoC ,actual Poc till date, rescheduled PoC.
Given that progress version  supports  only  two set of dates, is there any way to achieve this ?

    Aparna

  • Why can't I make a project progressive?

When I open a new project in Encore, I want to set it to progressive. But no matter what I try, the Video Transcoding settings are greyed out and I can't change it from Lower Fields First. This has left me with jumpy videos, and I have no idea how to correct it. I've tried googling for solutions but this doesn't seem to be a widespread issue, so I'm guessing I've missed something. Can anybody help? Any advice would be appreciated.

Export from Premiere with the desired settings for mpeg2-dvd.
Import the two files into Encore.
Encore will  be set to Don't Transcode for the files.
    Make menu and burn.
    That should do the trick.

  • Week Wise Project progress w.r.t. Percentage

    Hi All,
I am using Project Server SP1.I have a requirement where I have to determine the week wise percentage completion status of projects.
    To elaborate the above,
If the project duration is of 100 days, then I need the data to be calculated percentage wise from week 1 to the final week. This calculation will be on the basis of how much the project percentage was supposed to be completed as per Baseline 0 for every
week and I need to compare this data to the Actual finish percentage for every week so I can see a report.
Is there a way to generate this?
Any sort of help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,

Have a look at the earned value fields, especially the timephased ones. One of them may fit your needs.

  • Online project progress and status implementation.

    Hi friends,
What are the different methods availalbe in SAP for integrating project Sites with Project office for online progress and status implementation.
    Thank you,
    Prashant

    Hello Prashanth,
SAP xAPPS provides this feature. xRPM and cProjects are web based applications which are tightly integrated with SAP PS.
The configuration is done in R/3 backened for the same and front end is web based application. But note that they are not a part of SAP PS soln and are seperate apllications.
    Thanks

    Hi friend
Can we do the calculation in some other way is it possible to find the %
by without calculating like this method
    User entered cost =110
    std item cost = 100
i have used my mathemathical logic ((110-100)/100)* 100
Is there any other logic to bring the same resultThe response you were given IS using that logic, providing that the divisor is non-zero.
What other logic do you want it to do? You have to handle the case of a zero divisor in some way, as you can't force Oracle to attempt to divide by zero without it getting an error. The only thing to do is, as in the solution given, test for a zero divisor and handle it, such as by making the result 0.
