Publishing BEx Analyzer data in Portal

Hi,
Does anyone have experience with publishing BEx Analyzer data in Portal?
I need an overview of practical steps to achieve the same.
Best Regards,
Kumar

Hi Deepu,
All the parameters in the SAP_BW system is correct and i have tested the ITS, WebAS and Connector tests also and everything is green. In the BI diagnostic tool everything was green however in the RSPOR_SETUP the Maintain User Assignment was getting failed, so i removed the UME Master System (Reference system) from the Portal as i'm using the SAP Logon Tickets both ways. So there is no need for the reference system. After that RSPOR_SETUP is okay and in the BI Diagnostic tool one is red (UME Master system).
One thing i have noticed in the RSPOR_SETUP now that it tells me in the second step:-
com.sap.ip.bi Java classes with different versions.
Different ABAP and Java Support packages
ABAP support package 12
Java Support package   11

Any clue??

  • Is it possible to publish Bex Excel workbook into portal?

    Hello,
Is it possible to publish Bex Excel workbook into portal?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Publishing BW workbook in portal can be done in two ways.
    1)Using RRMXP transaction
    /people/arunkumar.sampathkumar/blog/2006/08/09/publishing-bw-workbooks-into-portal
2)Using information broadcasting in portal and publishing into the KM folder
For information broadcasting - you have to install the precalculation server in the portal server. This is needed for precalculation of the workbook. After installing the precalculation server start the corresponding service. If you execute transaction "RSPRECADMIN" in BW, it shows the status of precalculation server, Whether it is running or not
After doing this. Assign the BEX role inthe portal to the user. Now from this screen you can broadcast the BW workbook
Also you can create an iview for the same.

  • Error when launching BEx analyzer from Portals

    BI Gurus...
We are working on an initiative to migrate our user interface from SAP GUI to Enterprise Portal.
Bex Analyzer is primary mode of reporting at this time.
After importing the Roles into EP, I am able to execute the web queries successfully, in the BEx Wen analyzer. But, I get an error when I click on any of the excel workbooks. Our expectation was that once we click on the excel workbook name, the BEx analyzer will launch from EP. But it seems like the issue is with launching BEx Analyzer from BI Portal.
Has anyone faced this issue before?
Is it possible to launch BEx Analyzer from EP?
Are their some key portal settings we have missed out on to enable launching BEx analyzer from EP?
    Please provide your thoughts/experience.
    Thanks,
    Ajay.

    Hi WernerS,
    Thanks for your response.
The RRMXP Transaction works and it launching the BEx Analyzer as expected.
Now, as per our research, I think there are 2 ways of launching BEx analyzer from BI Portals.
    1) Call via a URL
You can call BEx Analyzer via the following URL: http(s)://<server:port>/sap/bc/bsp/sap/rsr_bex_launch/bexanalyzerportalwrapper.htm
You can modify the URL to open BEx Analyzer with either a workbook, a query or a query view. You can use the following parameters to do this:
    ●      Parameter to open the workbook: ?WBID=<wb_id>
I have tried calling via URL iView, but instead of launching the BEx Analyzer, it just throws a dialog box to "save" or "open" a file, RRMX.bex. When I try to open this file, it says "Invalid File Format".
I tried opening the file in notepad and I see the following parameters passed.
               test
               Data=BX2,CONAJP,EN,mikoyan,17,,,250,
               9
Any clue about what I am doing wrong?
    2) Calling via a Transaction
You can generate BEx Analyzer in Portal Content Studio as an SAP Transaction iView.
The iViews are of type SAP Transaction iView and have the code link com.sap.portal.app integrator.sap.Transaction.
The most important properties are System, Transaction Code (TCODE) and ApplicationParameter.
    ●      The Transaction Code for all workbooks is RRMXP.
    ●      The ApplicationParameter property contains the value WBID=<WORKBOOK_ID>.
I have tried this approach as well. When I open this iView, I see the RRMXP transaction in the Internet explorer, but the workbooks still does not open in the BEx Analyzer (Excel)
Any thoughts on where am I going wrong ?
    Thanks,
    Ajay.

  • Text in Bex analyzer is giving problem

    Hi Experts
i have two issues with my Bex analyzer, RSRT and Portal
    1. i have report which has Project code and its description (text) when i am runing this report for some project codes the text is not displaying instead it showing space, if i go to that particular project and say keep filter value and select only that value then its showing the text in that column...what could be the reason.
    2. i have created variable for my report its displaying perfectly in bex analyzer but in rsrt and web portal...the variable screen is getting ignored.
    what could be the reason.
    thanks and regards
    Sreedhar

    Hi,
Check the behavior of your web template : parameter "display variable screen" must be ON.
    Hope that helps.

  • No data in Portal Report but have data in Bex Analyzer

    Hi experts,
I have problem regarding portal reports. When you view the report using the bex analyzer, there is data. But when you view the report in the portal from iview, there is no data.
    Please help experts.
    Thanks

Hi Emmanuel (that's weird, I am an Emmanuel too! and we both have Filo origins),
There can be heaps of reasons for this.
    1) Please try to run the query in transaction RSRT by entering the query name and clicking "Java Web". See if that gives you results. If that gives your results, then the iView that was saved in the portal might need some reconfiguration. Check it out.
    2) Check the logic of your user exit variables. The sequence of the I_STEP calls is a bit different if you run a query in the Portal. For example, if you don't have a mandatory variable in your query, then the olap engine will call I_STEP=1 to 3 before it shows the variable screen. This behaviour is not documented in help.sap.com. However, it does work that way.
    3) Try to check the caching settings for your iView. It might be caching the result. You can change this in Content Administration in the portal.
Try the above and see if it helps. Otherwise, post another message.
    Cheers.

  • Advantages of BW Query in SAP Portal when compared to WEB BEx Analyzer

    Hi
What are the advantages of having a BW Query in SAP Portal when compared to WEB BEx Analyzer
I had to presention to higher managers of having a SAPPortal for BW report that WEB BEx Analyzer
can any one please update me with few points (10-20) that will be useful for my presentation
    screen to geethikakrishna->gmail
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Krishna ,
I think you should highlight the portal role in presentation
Now a days all organizations using sap portal as their user interface. We can login portal once and we can get all the information from bw,crm...sap systems and non sap systems.
so no need to login each and every system individually.
The portal offers a single point of access to SAP and non-SAP information sources, enterprise applications, information repositories, databases and services in and outside your organization—all integrated into a single user experience. It provides you the tools to manage this knowledge, to analyze and interrelate it, and to share and collaborate on the basis of it.
With its role-based content, and personalization features, the portal enables users—from employees and customers to partners and suppliers—to focus exclusively on data relevant to daily decision-making processes

  • Urgent:- BEx Analyzer Workbook as an iView in the Portal

    Hi,
Can somebody please tell is it possible to create BEx Analyzer Workbook as an iView in the Portal?
If it is possible, how to create the iView?
    Please help.

    Hi Nikesh,
The question relates much more to analysing queries.
BEx Designer and WAD are for designing queries, output of which can be seen in BEx AnalyserWorkbook. These are used for analysing the data with some test data entered by user.
But if we want them to be seen as a portal iview report we need to use BEx WebApplication Designer iview as we generally user for WAD n BEx.
Use the Version of the BEx Appl as BW or BI and then give  propeties like system name,BEx Query,Appl parameters.
We need to see tht these queries in the same compatible format as with portal.
Please note "BExquery" must be the one which generates your reports.
I am not sure whether i could answer you but hope my idea is clear.
    Thanks and regards,
    Shaila

  • How to fetch published data from portal using ABAP

    Hello,
I have a file published in the portal (with broadcaster). Now I want to use this file in an ABAP program. I can't call the web address directly because my program can't handle the Portal authentication. So I have two questions:
    - is there any way to call Portal-websites which require authentication from ABAP?
    or
    - how can I directly get access to the file without detour over the Portal (where is the place in file system).
    Thank you very much!
    Martin

    Hello Adrian,
Thank you very much for your reply.
    > You can publish the report in MHTML format using the
    > BEx Broadcaster to a mapped drive  (completely
    > independent of the portal)  then you could pick this
    > up from your ABAP program if you have access to that
    > share.
What do you mean with "mapped drive" - <a href="http://http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/42/e915d951f23ee0e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm">this</a>? I guess I could choose this drive in broadcaster at "export document in any folder" (don't know exactly English label because my system is in German language...)?
    > I dont really see the value of publishing the report
    > to KM if all you are wanting to do is read this back
    > into your ABAP program.  Why are you wanting to
    > publish the report to the portal in the first place?
I need to get the image of a BW-chart in ABAP because I want to use it in SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe (I have an ABAP program to fetch my data and create the form). I could create my own chart of the data with the Internet Graphics Service but this would be a lot of work. You can create this charts very easily using the Chart Designer which i.e. is included in the Web Application Designer. If you create a Web Site containing a chart you can access this via browser and you have the chart as an image (created from current data). I tried simply to call this website with ABAP but I can not "log in" and so I have no access to this page. Because of this I had the idea to use the broadcaster to automatically publish this Web Application when my data were updated. If I use MHTML my chart-image is saved separately. This just would work for me. And now I want to get this image as a binary with ABAP.
I hope you understand my problem.

  • Satatus of Data in Bex Analyzer

    Hello ,
is it possible to hide "status of data" in bex analyzer ?  I have read some documents but all are say it is only possible with Web Designer.
I have a query from a Multiprovider and I don't wnt to show Status of data information in the report .
    thank you ,
    blue

You can goto design mode in the workbook and delete the text element which is showing status of data, come out of design mode and save the workbook.

  • Issue with status of data information in Bex analyzer report

    Hi BI gurus,
One of the queries showing older date for the "status of data" information in the report of Bex Analyzer. I have tried to correct it in Bex analyzer by removing existing Text information element and adding a new Text element in the Bex Analyzer designer for the query. But it doesn't worked out as the changes made to the query through Bex Analyzer are only being saved as a local work book rather than reflecting to the query. Please suggest me with some options to resolve this issue and give any Idea to correct the "Status of data" in the Bex Query designer.

    Hi Aditya
This is a common problem faced by users when reporting on Multi-Provider.
In my project what I did to overcome this is to run a Fake DTP to the cube whose status is creating problem.
Like , if under MultiPro I have a planning cube which is only updated monthly but all the actual cubes updated daily.  In this case create a DTP under Plan cube with some impossible selection condition ( like fiscal year 2099). This will bring 0 records to planning cube ( and thereby not impacting the data) but will update the last loading time.

  • How to prevent a portal user from using the BEx Analyzer ?

    Hi,
we have different type of users : most users may use the portal as well
    as the analyzer ;
we have one special user with extended authorizations : this user
should use the portal , where he has a limited set of queries to run
with hardcoded filters ==> this user should not be able to use the
analyzer however, since he then would be able to call all other queries
    by using the find function ;
how can we make sure this user cannot use the analyzer , using SAP
    authorizations ?
    best regards,
    Erwin Van Giel.

    Hi,
if I remove the complete S_RFC authorization for the user then the BEx Analyzer cannot connect anymore to the BW system, but neither can the user run reports from the portal : it needs the S_RFC with 'SYST'.
If I only remove the RRMX from the S_TCODE and from the S_RFC, it does not prevent the user from starting the BEx Analyzer and connecting to the BW system. It only stops the user if he would start the RRMX transaction from within an SAPGUI session.
Perhaps there should be a value in the S_RFC that allows connections from the portal but not from the BEx Analyzer .... ?
    so not solved yet ....
    best regards,
    Erwin.

  • Working with documents via BEx Analyzer not using the portal

    Hello,
i read that we are able to create (work) with documents (comments) via
BEx Analyzer. When i want to add a comment how it is described in the
help we get connected to the portal. We dont want to use the portal for
that. Therefore we searched a way to skip the portal. We read that in
BW Versions before 7.0 the portal was not connected but since 7.0 we
have the portal connectivity, but it should also possible to not use
the portal and to access directly the BI Server. I searched for the
Customizing to do so but i could not find it where to switch to the old
    logic.
And another question is when we use the Portal with the knowledge base . The documents are stored in the document framework (SKWF). Is it the same as the Datawarehousing Workbench --> documents. This storage we want to use.
Can anyone give me a hint?
    Kind regards,
    Murat

    Hi Murat,
We are also facing the same issue of when trying to create/access the documents from BEx analyzer it is connecting portal , we need to bypass portal and directly access the document browser in BW server.
In your thread you mentioned it is done. So can you please let me know how did you enable the old configuration?. It will be very much helpful to us.
    Awaiting for your reply.
    Thanks,

  • Passing a range of dates from Visual Composer 7.0 to Bex Analyzer

    Dear Experts,
I created a button in my Visual Composer model that has the following settings:
    System action:  Hyperlink
    Apply to:  Self
    Hyperlink address:  "...QUERY=BMMSEG_C01_SAS_Q0001&BI_COMMAND_1-BI_COMMAND_TYPE=SET_SELECTION_STATE&BI_COMMAND_1-TARGET_DATA_PROVIDER_REF_LIST-TARGET_DATA_PROVIDER_REF_1=DP_1&BI_COMMAND_1-CHARACTERISTICS_SELECTIONS-CHARACTERISTIC_SELECTIONS_1-CHARACTERISTIC=MBUDAT&BI_COMMAND_1-CHARACTERISTICS_SELECTIONS-CHARACTERISTIC_SELECTIONS_1-SELECTIONS-SELECTION_1-SELECTION_INPUT_STRING=08/22/2006;08/28/2006"
Basically, what I need is to pass a range of dates from Visual Composer to Bex Analyzer on the characteristic "MBUDAT".  However, it only brings back the data with those specific dates, not the range.
I don't think this is the correct syntax to pass in a range value:  08/22/2006;08/28/2006  Please advise how should I do it.
    Thank you in advance,
    Kevin

    Hi J GOEL,
Thank you for your quick response.  I created a date range variable ZPSTDAT, and then I passed in the oncatenated value to my Bex query (for this example, let says the From date is 08/22/2006, and the To date is 08/28/2006 ).
Here's what I passed in into the url:
    ...QUERY= BMMSEG_C01_SAS_Q0001
    &#38;BI_COMMAND_1-BI_COMMAND_TYPE=SET_SELECTION_STATE
    &#38;BI_COMMAND_1-TARGET_DATA_PROVIDER_REF_LIST-TARGET_DATA_PROVIDER_REF_1=DP_1
    &#38;BI_COMMAND_1-CHARACTERISTICS_SELECTIONS-CHARACTERISTIC_SELECTIONS_1-CHARACTERISTIC= ZPSTDAT
    &#38;BI_COMMAND_1-CHARACTERISTICS_SELECTIONS-CHARACTERISTIC_SELECTIONS_1-SELECTIONS-SELECTION_1-SELECTION_INPUT_STRING= 08/22/2006:08/28/2006
However, it returns all the records, so it seems like it doesn't even accept the range value that I passed into the Bex.  Do you mind to please show me the url you have that pass in the date range.  I just need to see the date range part, not the entire url.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • Problems with dynamic data slices and BEx Analyzer

    Hello experts,
we use a data slice to lock released data.
This data slice contains an exit-variable which selects all plan that are already released out of a ABAP dictionary table.
The user can release data via planning function. He can start this function with a button in a BEx workbook.
He use the same workbook for insert planning data.
    the problem is:
when a user releases data, the value of the exit variable in our data slice changes but the data slice 9999 seems to be NOT generated with the new value. the reuslt is, that the user can still change released data.
the data slice is just new generated after logout and login again not after refresh the query.
Is there a possibility to force the system to generate data slice 9999 with the actual value of the exit variable? maybe a function module or method?
We have this problem just in BEx Analyzer. In Web Reporting everything works fine and the data is locked by the data slice after refresh.
    Thank you
    Johannes

    Hallo Johannes,
if you want to have this kind of behaviour you need to go for a data slice of type exit. You will find some information about this in the Planning forum.
The data slice is instantiated once, but when you release the data you need to call a method in your exit data slice which rereads the values. This is a rough idea how this could be done.
