Purchased Captivate 8; requires 64 bit OS; my computer uses 32bit OS; product will not install --  solutions?

I purchased Captivate 8.  On installation discovered it requires 64-bit OS; my computer uses 32-bit OS.  Q. How to resolve the issue without going to live support/chat?

You don't have the right installer. Download the 32 bit version of the installer.

    As Mylenium asks, please tell us more.
    PrElements ships (with the physical media) with 2 separate Windows versions, 32-bit and 64-bit, and then a 32-bit Mac version. It also comes with Additional Functional Content on a separate disc, that cannot be installed, until after one has successfully installed the correct version of PrE. The markings on the discs are not really the best, and Adobe should make all that more clear.
    What is your platform, Mac, or PC?
    If PC, what OS, 32-bit, or 64-bit?
    Exactly which disc are you trying to install from?

  • Purchased a new iMac so I could use cs5 and it will not install

    Read me PDF says:
    navigate to Adobe Photoshop CS5 folder....Done
    double click on "Install.app"  follow instructions on screen.
    I only find Set-up.exe
    when I try it I get:
    "You can't open application "Set-up.exe" because MS Windows applications are not supported on OS X."
    Can't find "Install.app"
    So where do I go from here?
    I do have an original CS5 disk that I purchased brand new from staples...Registered and have been using on a PC that broke down.

    You have the pc version of PS CS5. You need the Mac version if you want to install it on your iMac. In order to switch platforms you need to upgrade to the current Mac version or go the subscription route for CC.Crossgrade from Windows to Mac?

    Yes, firstly of all you need to confirm this game's supported platform.
    In addition, I also suggest you change compatibility setting to see if it could run normally:
    Make older programs run in this version of Windows

  • Am operating Windows 7, 64 bit and tried downloading addons/themes but they will not install in Firefox

    I have tried downloading (successfully) addons and themes however Windows 7 tells me that there is an error and it does not recognise the software and cannot open it. Therefore am unable to change or add to Firefox. Am also using Word 2010 sxo am not sure whether or not this is causing the problem.

    If you didn't install those addons directly into Firefox, use File > Open File... in Firefox to install them.

    You can't install the App Store version of Mavericks because your model needs a special version. If you ever need to reinstall it, boot into Recovery.

    Mac: Adobe - Lightroom : For Macintosh
    Install then enter your serial number when prompted.
    I have the receipt, and you can look to see that the program was never used.
    The receipt is only of use to B&H. Adobe will have no record of it.
    If you quote an Adobe Lightroom serial number then Adobe can confirm if that serial number has ever been registered. That step should not be required at this stage though. Just install the software.

    A user in Public Relations needs to use Adobe Premier Pro CS6. However when we tried to install it the program is grayed out and has a caution icon. If I hover over it there is a message that says it prefers 64-bit. Prefers does not mean will not work in my opinion. However it will not install.
    I read that Premier Pro is 64-bit only on another web site. Is this true? There has to be a solution.
    On the Adobe site I saw that installing CS4 Premier was the work around but you have to purchase a license key. We have already purchased Premier Pro and do not have money in the budget to purchase an older product when this one should work.
    Please help. I am under a lot of pressure to resolve this

    Premiere Pro CS6 is 64 bit software and will only install on a 64 bit computer. There is no way around that.

    my computer will not install iTunes 10.5.  I have 10.4 currently and it syas that a required file is missing during the 10.5 install and shuts down.  I purchased an iTouch for my daughter and it won't sync with 10.4!  Ugh!!

    Luke Posted - If your having the same issue as I did, click your start menu in the search bar type in Apple Software Update, click on it the program with open and it should start searching for updates. Do the updates and then it will try and search again for more updates and it will find ITunes 10.5 click the box next to it and download.

    iTunes will not install on a 64 bit PC running Windows 7 with all updates.
    Most answers send you to a "cleaner" of somekind that check for errors in you PC and then wants to charge you to clean it.  My PC is CLEAN.
    Something is keeping iTunes from installing and running.  Tried 64 bit, 32 bit and all help desks.
    Same error message "This version is for a 32 bit computer, yours is a 64 bit!"  I know that and only install the 64 bit version!!!

    Doublechecking ... by any chance did you migrate a 32-bit version of the iTunes, Apple Mobile Device Support and Bonjour programs to the 64-bit machine from a 32-bit machine using the PC Mover utility?
    (Your symptoms are consistent with that ... the installer service throws the message when trying to uninstall the 32-bit itunes and related 32-bit componentry prior to installing the new 64-bit versions.)

    Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
    Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
    Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

    Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:

    and paste into:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
    The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

    I tried to install printer driver software for my completely new HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP on my Lenovo ThinkPad X1 laptop. Lenovo runs on Windows 7 64 bit. The installation failed during Installation preparation (77% complete). The process stopped saying an error occured without indication of the cause of the error. I have tried installion both from the CD following the printer product and downloading from the HP web, with the same result. I then then turned on my old computer, a Dell Precision M2400 with Windows XP. The installation went perfect without problems on this computer. Is there a bug in the SW for Windows 7 (64), or is some part of the printer SW sensitive to HW variaton between PC companies even if the OS is the same?

    I have the same problem with my Lenovo ThinkPad T420 running Windows 7 64 bit.  Tried absolutely everything I could find on the blogs and nothing worked.  To me, seems like a software problem (glaring, given the popularity of Lenovos and the Windows 7 64 bit systems).  Returning the printer tomorrow and will not buy another HP printer.

    My HP Pavilion p7-1297cb pc which is running windows 7 home premium 64 bit OS will not install any HP print drivers. All my windows updates are current, HP print and scan doctor did not fix it, I also tried MS fix it manager and did not work.  When I try to use my HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus installation CD or HP's download center, software almost installs, but says print drivers will not install.  Also, I tried using USB connection and windows tries to install software, but does not work.  Same for HP print driver support.   I tried installing 3 different HP printers I had and all had the same issue. Any ideas on why my system will not allow any print drivers to install?

    I understand none of the HP drivers will fully install.
    I will be happy to help you.
    Are you signed in as the Administrator of the computer?
    I would turn off all start up programs to make sure there isn't something blocking the printer.
    Click on start, in the search box type in run, enter, then type in msconfig, click OK.
    Click the Services tab.
    Click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box.
    Click Disable All, and then click OK.
    Then click on the start up tab at the top.
    Click on disable all.
    Reboot the computer.
    Temporarily turn off any Antivirus software.
    Then run the installation again by right clicking on the setup and selecting run as Admininstrator.
    Don't connect the USB cable until prompted.
    Try printing now.
    Then go back into msconfig and enable the All Microsoft Services and enable all on the start up tab.
    Turn the Antivirus software back on again.
    Please let me know the results if you are still having issues.
