Quantity proposal in Batch determination

Hi,
We are doing the batch determination in Process order for Batch and HU managed Raw materials.
I created two Process Orders
Requirement for Raw Material A in Process Order 1 = 1000 Lbs
Requirement for Raw Material A in Process Order 2 = 1200 Lbs
Stock of Batch 101 for Raw Material A = HU Quantity = 1500 lbs
When i do batch determination for Process Order 1, Batch 101 gets assigned for Qty = 1000 Lbs. I release the Process Order.
But when i do Batch determination for Process Order 2, the entire quantity of 1500 Lbs shows available, instead of remaining qty of 500 Lbs, as 1000 Lbs is already reserved for Process Order 1.
How do i make sure, that only difference is available for Process Order 2, i.e. only 500 Lbs?
I checked the scope of availability check and found to be OK. I also tried different Quantity Proposals 1, 2, 3, 4, and 600. But ii does not give the desired result.
Thanks in advance for your time.

Mangesh Kulkarni

Hello Pavan and Sanil,
Thanks for the response.
Yes...if i create the Transfer Order (as the Raw Materials are HU managed), then the remaining quantity is proposed for the 2nd Process Order.
But we want to do batch determination and release the all the Process orders, one day in advance for next day. Also we would like to create a collective Pull List for all the process orders for tomorrow and move all the materials together, instead of order by order.
Is there any User Exit in quantity proposal, where it would check if that particular batch is already assigned to a process order and reduce it and make the leftover quantity available to the 2nd process order?
GI through MB1A would happen after the production is executed and it would be too late then to propose the leftover quantity to the next process order, create a pull list and then stage the material to the shop floor storage location. Ours is a continous production.
Appreciate your feedback in advance.

Mangesh Kulkarni

  • Infinity Component Qty Proposing during Batch Determination in Process ordr

    Hi Guys,
During Batch Determination in Process order, component determination proposing with Infinity quanity (i,e 999,999,999,999) with old batches,  even though there is no stock available against these batches. (MMBE)
Please advise me if I miss any config / master data maintenance.
    regards,
    Purna

Unfortunately, I cannot access OSS note.  If you can, try to use search term Batch Determination Infinite Quantity.
Anyhow, do you have the available stock that can use for the prod.order?  The OSS mentioned that the ATP at batch level also search the available stock within RLT.  If none is found, then the infinite quantity is proposed.  In order to avoid the search for batch stock with zero quantity, try to set the selection criteria with LOBM_MENGE > 0.
However, the best way is to archive the batch stock with zero out from the system.   Use SARA with MM_SPSTOCK object, and flag "Only consider batch stock records without stocks".  Only MCHB table (Batch stock records) will be deleted.  The batch masters are not.
    Hope it helps.

  • Quantity proposal in batch selection

In batch search strategies you can select a quantity proposal routine to be used to allocagtge qtys to the proposed batches in a specific manner.
I'm trying to locate where you add/change/modify these routines.  The help file indicates these are maintained via transaction VOFM.  But under that I can't locate the specific quantity routines for the batch search strategies.  Maybe I'm just not seeing it or I'm in the wrong place.
Can someone point me in the right direction for this?  We need to config in custom quantity routines for our project.
This is an ECC 6.0 system.
    Thanks,
    Craig

Custom routines can be configured using VOFM but Standard SAP doesn't allow u to configure Quantity proposal in VOFM.We can configure Quantity Proposal Routine ....When u double click the Strategy type in the Quantity proposal Routine U have the Option to Maintain. Using this you can configure your requirement.

  • Quantity available in Batch determination

    Dear Experts,
I have an issue in batch determination in process order. I do batch determination for the component in process order. The same batch can be assigned to two process orders in split quantity. Since the component is allowed with negative stock posting, sometimes the reservation will remain uncleared if the goods issue posted is greater than the allocated batch quantity.
Since there is an uncleared reservation, the deficit quantity is reduced from next batch. So the quantity shown in the next batch during batch determination is less than what is actually available in stock.
Is  these any possible way to fix this and ignore the negative stock during batch determination
    Thanks in advance
    Prathib

    Dear,
Go to T.code OPJJ.Select your Checking rule (which you have assign in your Checking Control for your Order Type in T.code OPJK) and activate Check for Include Reservation and dependent reservation as X.

  • Batch Determination for SubContracting Order in MIGO

    Hello all,
In the transaction, MIGO the batch determination is not being automatically generated when we enter the PO on the GR screen in Migo. One has to click the "Stock Determination" button for each line item.
What setting needs to be done so that the batches could pop in there automatically without clicking 'Determine Stock' Button for each line item.
    Thanks,
    Gauravjit.

    Hi Gauravjit ,
    check these steps :
For Auto batch determination the system carries out the following steps in succession:
1     it looks for a search procedure for the business transaction
2     it searches through the strategy types listed in the search procedure for a search strategy. The first valid search strategy is adopted and all other search strategies are ignored.
3     it then uses the characteristics from the selection class of the search strategy to look for batches with suitable specifications
4     it checks whether the batches are available
5     it sorts the batches that were found and are available according to the sort rule from the search strategy
6     the system selects a proposed quantity in accordance with the proposed quantity from the search strategy.
7     the system proposes that batch determination is to run online, providing that the search strategy contains the information
You allocate batch search procedures to those Inventory Management movement types for which batch determination is to be carried out, and activate batch checking.
Allocate a search procedure to each movement type.
Set indicator Check batch if you want the system to check manually entered batches.

  • Remove already assigned batches from batch determination

    We face the following situation:
At material issue we have a FIFO based batch determination. This normally works like a charm. Only when this batch is already assigned to a delivery, the assigned quantity is not available anymore when doing the batch determination for another goods movement. The delivery is not yet picked, so it is correct that the FIFO availability shows the batch. Only there are no selectable quantities left.
How would you deal with this situation? User are confused since they have no indication that the batch is already assigned. They just see it as available in stock.
    Regards,
    Ivo Voeten

can you check in OVZ2 whether you have a flag for no check  for 02.
The system carries out the following steps in batch determination:
    1) it looks for a search procedure for the business transaction
2)it searches through the strategy types listed in the search procedure for a search strategy. The first valid search strategy is adopted and all other search strategies are ignored.
3)it then uses the characteristics from the selection class of the search strategy to look for batches with suitable specifications
4)it checks whether the batches are available
5)it sorts the batches that were found and are available according to the sort rule from the search strategy
6)the system selects a proposed quantity in accordance with the proposed quantity from the search strategy.
7)the system proposes that batch determination is to run online, providing that the search strategy contains the information
you problem seems to be in step 4. Your system assumes the batch is availabe while it is already assigned to a delivery.
In my system such batches are not available, even the stock is not yet picked.

  • Production order component batch determination : Over delivery allowed in b

Iu2019m using production order component batch determination in CO02. System is not allowed to allocate an excess component split batch quantity. System is always allowed to allocate exact requirement quantity where to make open quantity is 0.
It generates the following massage once click enter after selecting an excess component quantity. My requirement is to add the excess quantity in component batch determination.
    Massage details:
Quantity of batch 0052902459 is reduced to 9.300 KG as split qty > req. qty
    Message no. LB034
    Diagnosis
The split quantity of the chosen batch has lead to the split quantity total exceeding the required quantity.
    System Response
The quantity is rounded down by the system.
    Procedure
An overdelivery is not allowed by the current business transaction.
    Procedure for System Administration
If necessary, check the batch search strategy to see whether an overdelivery is allowed.
I have maintained the configuration in transaction COB1 as follows to enable over delivery batch determination.
    Strategy type: CO01- OrdType/Plnt/Matl
    Key combination:     Order type
Over delivery allowed in batch determination: Tick on
Please let me know the configuration to enable to do component batch determination with minus open quantity (Excess component quantity)

    Hi,
As I understand it seems that you do not have batch split allowed in the auto batch determination for component materials. And you need to have batch split on a need to basis?
If thats true, then on the line item in the component overview. Select the item details for the Batch that has been determined (general view, there is a field for split in terms of %, change that from 100% to a the lower value you want to pick from that batch). It should then allow you to add more batches.
let me know if my assumption and answer helps.

  • Batch determination issue in process order Material quantity calculation

    Dear Gurus,
We are facing issue in auto batch determination in process order (Material quantity calculation ).
eg Material X  is active material 200 KIA used in BOM as
    10  X   200  KIA
    20  Y   10           Filler
    30  Z
    40  X   200  KIA
    50  Y
    60  Z
We select line item 10 and 40 and do Batch determination system proposes 2 batches for line item 10 as Batch A and B
and for line 40 again Batch A (with 0.01 KIA) and batch B proposed which is wrong.
For line Item 10 Batch A and B
For line Item 40 Batch B and C or as per FIFO logic.
As Batch A should be consumed in Line item 10 then it proposed Batch B and so on....
We have already maintain data in COB1.
Can any body explain what is wrong in determination.

  • Batch Quantity Proposal during SL Transfer

    Hi
In MIGO, when moving a material which is stored in batches from one storage location to another (mvt 311), is it possible to have the system propose the quantity to be moved, based on the batch number entered?
The reason for this is that we are always moving full batches, and would like to avoid the step of looking up the quantity in each batch, before having to enter it in MIGO.
    Best Regards
    Nicolai

    Hi,
System wont know the quantity to be moved and hence the system wont propose the quantity to be moved. It is the user who decides the quantity to be moved and he has to enter the quantity manually.
If you are always transferring the full batch quantity, you may go for development if required. Check the stock quantity for the material and batch in the supplying storage location from MCHB table and propose the quantity by default when the movement type is 311. I would recommend to make the quantity field editable, even if you propose the default full quantity. Please note that the same batch can exists in different stock types / special stocks etc. These cases also should be taken care.

  • Batch determination in delivery proposes batch already scheduled

For one specific plant, when batch determination is done in the delivery, batches already scheduled for delivery are being proposed as still available.  What can be causing this?

    Hello,
I finally solved this issue, here are the steps I did to find the solution:
    1. In transaction SPRO
->Logistics-General->Batch Management->Batch Determination and Batch Check->Strategy Types->Define Sales and Distribution Strategy Types
Check the condition Type (In my case SD01), the Field Class contains the selection class with the logic to determine stock (In my case Z_MM_FERT)
Chek the Sort Sequence (In my case SEQUENCIA)
    2. Go to transaction CU72 with the Sort Sequence (SEQUENCIA), in characteristic must have the following values:
LOBM_VFDAT Expiration date, shelf life   Ascending (Checked)
    3.  Go to transaction CL02 with the class founded in the previous step (Z_MM_FERT),  in the characteristics TAB must have the following values:
    LOBM_VFDAT Expiration date, shelf life
    LOBM_ZUSTD Status of Batch
LOBM_QNDAT Next Insp. Date for Batch
    LOBM_LVORM Deletion Ind. for Batches
    4. Go to transaction MM03 with the material that you have in Delivery, chek the TAB Classification, Option Batch 022, the material must be associated to the selection Class (Z_MM_FERT), but it must be associated trought transaction MM01
    5. In transaction OVZ9,  double click in the row with  the column Availability check  = CH Batches  and Checking Rule = B SD Delivery
Option Include Deliveries, must be Checked.
    6. Material that you have in Delivery, must be created in transaction VCH1 with the according Strategy Type (SD01)

  • Issues during Component Batch Determination for Process Orders

    Hi,
I am encountering a strange issue during component batch determination of process order.
    1. During creation of process order, when I execute batch determination, systems does determination based on strategies we have set and when I click on Copy it gives an error
"Log cannot be saved: Object/subobject not specified"
    Message no. BL201
    *Diagnosis
Log save cancelled because at least one log contains no object or subobject.
Object and subobject are needed to classify application logs because there are several log types. Only a few logs are managed in main memory at runtime, so this classification is not needed.
If the logs are to be saved in the database, object/subobject must be specified for later retrieval.
    Procedure for System Administration
Object/sub object can be passed when a log is created (function module BAL_LOG_CREATE) and changed with BAL_LOG_CHANGE.
The possible values for object and sub object must be configured in transaction SLG0.*
If I save the order with CRTD status and come back again in change mode and do determination, It works fine.
Again when the order is in REL status and do the determination, It gives the same error.
This happens only for a specific plant, In other plants batch determination works in all scenarios.
I checked for all plant related Config for batch determination and coudn't find any discrepancies.
Please advise how to resolve this issue. Thanks in advance for your help
    Regards,
    Aheesh

There Is no direct solution for your requirement just try this work around.
While defining the batch determination search strategy for process order in COB1, there is one column Quantity proposal where you can attach the Routines (This is written in ABAB code )  make use of this, define New Routines with ABAB help to fulfill your requirement. Try this if found useful award full points.

  • Batch Determination based on date of consig recieve

    Hi,
I am getting problem when i am trying to do manual batch determination in the outbound delivery.
I have created a record in VCH1 based on customer/Material/Plant. In this i have maintained a sort rule also. what characteristaics i must use to make my batch determination based on customer consignment recieving date?
If i go in MSC3n with Material, Plant and batch data then in the screen ( table MCHA, MCH1) onlt data available is for ERSDA, LAEDA  and LWEDT.
In delivery when i click on batch determination button. my Sort rule is not automatically determined. So i have to maunally entered my soirt rule but at the same time my qty proposal in the same screen is 1 which is nothing but
    FORM CHMVS_001.
      DATA: lv_line TYPE kondh-chasp VALUE '1'.
      LOOP AT disqty.
        CHECK lv_line <= no_of_split.
        IF QUAN_TO_DIS > 0.
          IF DISQTY-AVAL_QUAN > QUAN_TO_DIS.
            DISQTY-QUANTITY = QUAN_TO_DIS.
          ELSEIF disqty-aval_quan > 0.
            DISQTY-QUANTITY = DISQTY-AVAL_QUAN.
          ENDIF.
          IF disqty-quantity > 0.
            quan_to_dis = quan_to_dis - disqty-quantity.
            MODIFY disqty TRANSPORTING quantity.
            ADD 1 TO lv_line.
          ENDIF.
        ENDIF.
      ENDLOOP.
    ENDFORM
When i am taking characteristics LOBM_VFDAT for sort rule in Cu70 then i am not getting batch determination as i required even if i maintained Shelf expiry date in MSC3n.
Please suggest where i must look into so that my batch determination would be based on date of consignment recieved.. currently if it s taking based on max qty available in MMBE.
    Regards
    Nitin

I have already assigned sort rule in VCH1 but dont know which Characteristics i must assign for customer consignment stock on FIFO basis. Could you please tell me the characteristics for it which i must consider?
LOMB_VFDAT i have already tried but its not working for me.

  • Batch determination issue.

    08.11.2010
    Hi friends.
We determine batches automatically at the delivery stage.  When a delivery is created against multiple sales orders and if the orders have the same items then in the delivery multiple lines are created for the same material. The issue is the same batches are redetermined in the subsequent line items also even after the entire quantity of the batch is determined in the earlier lines. Is there a way out to resolve this issue please.
    Regards,
    Udaynath.

    Udaynath
I guess you need to work on the batch determination strategy config, especially the Batch Split and Quantity Proposal sections.
    SPRO/Logistics - General/Batch Management/Batch Determination and Batch Check/Strategy Types/Define Sales and Distribution Strategy Types
    Hope this helps.
P.S:  There could be some OSS notes too.

  • Batch determination not working during goods issue in MIGO screen

    Hi,
We have configured search strategy according to shelf life expiration while doing the goods issue with movement type 201, 351 etc. Now when I do goods issue in MB1A for movement type 201 or in MB1B for movement type 351, by entering the * and clicking enter, system proposes the batch nos of the material according to the shelf life expiration. But when I do same procedure in MIGO screen, while entering * in batch field system does not propose the batch nos., instead it gives error as "use of special characters are not allowed"
How the above problem can be resolved?
    Thanks in advance,
    Satish

    Thanks Aroop & Jurgen
I have done the settings as per your suggestions by maintaining the Stock Determination Group. However It picks the batches as per FIFO and not as per shelf life expiration. Also same is the case with MB1A or MB1B.
The reason I wish to use MIGO instead of MB1A or MB1B is as follows
Suppose STO is made of say 10 line items (all Batch managed items). Now while issuing the goods, say for the seventh item there is no stock available then I can not bypass this item (it asks for enter the batch no. even though I change the quantity to zero) and I have to abort the complete transaction. But in case of MIGO I can bypass this item by unchecking the item OK check box.
Any inputs on the above will be helpful.
    Thanks,

  • Warning message during batch determination while doing GR for process order

    Hi Experts,
During delivery against process order for all SFGs and FGs, we are getting warning message u201CInvalid batch according to selection criteria in batch determinationu201D.
Following settings maintained for batch determination in process order.
Condition table for order/material type maintained
Access sequence maintained for order/material type
In strategy type above access sequence has been maintained. The common class and sort sequence created for all materials in the plant have also been assigned to this strategy type. In batch split changes allowed box has been checked and quantity proposal maintained as 1.
In search procedure control maintained for order/material type. Search procedure has been assigned to all process order types and check activated.
In spite of the above when GR for order is taking place , system is throwing warning message.
GI of components is being done through backflush and without any warning message.
Please advise how to ensure proper batch determination during GR against order.
    Regards

Issue resolved by removing required indicators from characteristics which were not being valuated but were maintained in the class assigned to SFGs/FGs.
