Quicktime with IE7

I upgraded to IE7 and when I went to the Quicktime website. IE7 crashed. It said "Plug-in did not initilize correctly" Then it said something else. I forgot. Since Firefox doesn't work with Apple site what should I do? Is there any way to fix the problem. I want to reinstall Quciktime but I have iTunes installed. Reinstalling is uninstalling and installing again right? If I uninstall them, will my music come back when I install iTunes 7 again?

Hi everyone,
Uninstalling, running a registry cleanup tool, and then re-insalling. CCleaner is a good option for a registry cleaner. You will not loose your music collection, as you will leave the files on there, and the library index files will be there when you re-install. So it's no big deal. This problem would seem to be a common issue when upgrading a browser that is so tied into the system. Post back with the results. It could be a more complicated issue if this does not fix it.

  • Quicktime with browser

    Well I go to the quicktime website with IE7 and I get an error that says something. When I go with Firefox2, the software crashes. Does anyone else have this problem? I wanna reinstall it, but I installed with quciktime and iTunes. How can I install Quciktime only? Any solutions without reinstalling Quciktime?

    Concurrency bugs (i.e. bugs in multi-threaded code) are a typical cause of non-deterministic behaviour since the manifestation of the bug is dependent upon the timing of context switches between threads and context switches are unpredictable with a pre-emptive threading model. I have observed behaviour that is strongly suggestive of a concurrency bug while using QuickTime 7.1.3 as a browser plugin on Mac OS X.
    Since concurrency bugs are inherently difficult to reproduce, it is easy for developers, or their managers, to deny the existence of such a bug. Just because they can't reproduce it easily doesn't mean that it doesn't exist!

  • Help needed regarding quicktime in IE7

    I have been using the Firefox 3 browser, which has the ability to disable quicktime while downloading mp3s. Now Firefox 3 has been crashing repeatedly during the past six hours, which was unacceptable. I am never using a Firefox browser ever again!!! I am using IE7 now until IE8 is completed. Is there any way to disable quicktime in IE7? If not, can Safari (or even Opera) do so? I am using Windows XP SP2. I really need help with this while I'm waiting for the final release of IE8.

    Holy crap! I right-clicked and found "Download by IE7Pro". Selected it and the browser detoured around quicktime to download the file! Thanks, but I could have noticed it on my own earlier :lol:. So many thanks to IE7 PRO!!

  • Animated gif doesn't work with IE7

    Hi,
    Jdev 11g, TP4.
    I use af:statusIndicator to show activity to the user. If there is communication with the server than gif should be animated.
    Therefore I have following skin defined:
    af|statusIndicator::idle-icon
      content:url("/images/TE_mark_pos_red_rgb_32x32.gif");
    af|statusIndicator::processing-icon,
    af|statusIndicator::connecting-icon,
    af|statusIndicator::reconnecting-icon
      content:url("/images/mark_pos_red_rgb_animated_32x32.gif");
    }With FireFox 2 this works as expected but with IE7 the gif keeps non-animated.
    Same behaviour with splash-screen:
    af|document::splash-screen-icon{
      content:url("/images/mark_pos_red_rgb_animated.gif");
    }Do I need some specific settings in IE7 to show animated gif's?
    regards
    Peter

    Hello Frank,
    problem is solved.
    I have installed IE7 on a Windows 2003 Server Edition and used remote desktop client to test the application.
    It seems that either a setting on W2003 or the remote desktop client avoid to see the animation.
    On locally installed IE7 animated gif's works fine.

  • Another SPRY horizontal menu problem with IE7

    I posted this before, with no responses, but I think
    I've narrowed it down to a CSS response problem with IE7.0. If you
    view the attached link in Firefox or Opera, the menu background
    color responds correctly on the drop downs. In IE7, the
    background-color is ignored, causing the menu to be translucent
    and, uh, ugly. Has anyone else had an issue with the
    background-color CSS attribute in the SPRY horizontal menu css not
    working?

  • MAKE EMBEDDED QUICKTIME WITH PLAY BUTTON IN FRAME

    Hello does anyone know how to make an embed quicktime with a play button in the video frame so it has a poster frame and a button on it and wont play until it is clicked on

    It's known as a poster movie. The first file acts as either a placeholder (or a button) that is linked to the second file.
    You can use any image format to create your click to play "button" and add it to a single frame from your movie or to another image. Size this 16 pixels higher than your movie source file if you plan on showing the movie controller and save it as poster.mov.
    Your html code will have this poster movie load and nothing further will happen until your visitor clicks on it. Once clicked the second .mov file will begin downloading and then playing. You can also use this poster movie technique to load a second movie directly in the QuickTime Player app.

    I've never gotten it to work either. I usually set the

    don't know if this is possible.

  • Why AS10g Forms Applet don´t start with IE7 and SUN Java???

    Hi @ all,
    since two days i am really confused about this strange behaviour of internet explorer 7 with the Sun JRE 1.5.0_15.
    Running our forms with Mozilla Firefox 3.x works fine with Sun JRE, but with IE7 the applet doesn´t start.
    I don´t get any error messages. The only thing I can see is that the java console is not appearing, but I don´t think that my java installation is corrupted or something is configured wrong because other java applets from several homepages are working without problems ( and the java console is appearing ).
    I read about the archive_ie parameter and I tried it but there were no changes in the behaviour of IE7.
    best regards

  • FW 8 popup-menu in CSS problem with IE7 & Safari

    Hi,
    hope that anyone out there got some ideas in my issue. I was
    already searching the forum for advice, but couldn't find
    meaningful infos.
    Here is my problem:
    I designed a page in FW8 (Mac) with a nice popup-menu. I
    exported this thing into DW8 having set the option to export the
    menu as CSS and slices to layers. Then I rearranged the html File
    and included some editable regions, as it was to be used as an
    template.
    Everything works fine in Firefox but IE7 and Safari
    experience some problems.
    The popup-layers are displayed behind the main text-area and
    not in front of it - this makes navigation a bit complicated.
    So teh menu is displayed with text and everything, but behind
    the main text.
    What I tried:
    I tried to reset the z-Index of the popup-layers to values
    below 10 (were set to 500) - didn't help.
    I gave every single item a z-index - didn't help.
    I gave the main text area an z-index of 0 or -1 - made the
    layer disappear.
    I reexported the whole thing - made me just crazy.
    I worked through the css file for errors - maybe I'm not to
    good in CSS ;)
    I checked the forums, but could only find issues where the
    menu was not displayed at all or the text was missing - doesn't
    apply.
    -- no more ideas :(

    I don't think this is accurate. Each browser supports things
    differently,
    and CSS is no exception, but support for javascript is fairly
    reliable
    across the board.

  • Error Occured in exporting to Quicktime with Conversion

    hello... I am gettin a general error on final cut pro and im needing just a little help... When i export to Quicktime with Conversion on the streaming medium setting... i get an Error Occured Message...
    This error has never occured before on any of my other video's but with this one... i did add some music to the background and it is a bit longer video... almost 10 mins... What do you think i need to do to export this to quicktime with conversion on the streaming medium setting?
    Thanks again,
    Charlie Jabaley
    SpitYoGame.com

    First, try exporting as a selfcontained quicktime with sequence settings and try using compressor for the conversion.
    It's unlikely the audio being longer than the video is causing the problem, but try adding a big of slug to the end of the video track so the material on the video track extends to at least the end of the audio.

  • How to correctly render quicktime with two pop and timecode?

    I have a feature finished and need to create the quicktime for the composer and mixer. But I have to add a new time code generator as well. So, at the moment, I have a timeline starting at 58:50 and the feature starting at 01:00:00. It is selected as non-drop.
    I was told by my online editor that I would have to either Nest the sequence and then generate my quicktime or I would have to create a quicktime from this sequence and then drop the quicktime on a new timeline and then create a quicktime again. I may be wrong, but it seems that both of those would be uneccesary as shouldn't I be able to just make the edited sequence into the new quicktime with an added timecode (via the generator)? Also because if I have my original timeline at 58:50 and then nest it on a new time line would the new timeline start at 01:00:00 and then generate a mixed up timecode?
    So, with all that in mind. I am just wondering what my steps from here are in:
    1) How to add the two pop (I was told to go into the effects bin and find the Bars And Tone and extract two frames at 59:58:00 and 59:5801 and I gues drop those two frames into the timeline.)
    2) Add the timecode generator ( i know it is available somewhere in FCP)
    3) And how to then correctly render a quicktime for the post gang.
    After that, I drop the drive and project off to the online guys and they will do the OMF and create the master HD project.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Andy,
    Thanks for the reply but am not sure what you mean by removing in and out points and dragging from browser to a new sequence. How does one technically remove an in and out point? And is this a strategy that will somehow enable me to be able to nest the project?
    I remember once a long time ago I tried to nest a large project (probably 70 minutes) and I tried highlighting the whole thing (which I may be doing the long way as I have to SHIFT click clip one and then SHIFT click the last clip and then try and find every clip in between that didn't get highlighted - which can take some time) and it would still not nest the project (kept coming up with some warning). So, I ultimately had to nest it by copying and pasting the film in 5ths onto their own sequences and then nesting them and then nesting the nests!
    So, I am hoping to do a quicktime for my post guys will not be as long winded....
    Thanks.

  • How can I export a Quicktime with Alpha embedded?

    I have a few titles that I've created in Premiere.  I've placed these titles into their own sequence and would like to export them as a Quicktime movie using the Animation codec with an embedded alpha channel (Millions+) so that I can import it into After Effects and do some animation work with them.  I don't want them against black though.
    When I Export Media in Premiere and select Quicktime with the Animation codec, the "code settings" button is greyed out.
    Please help.  There must be a way to export media with an embedded alpha channel like you can in FCP.
    Thanks.

    WoOWavE_Sync_Pro,
    I don't see what is complicated about it at all. I don't mean to start an argument, but making a title is easy, exporting it with an Alpha channel is easy (as shown above). Where is the problem? Why go to TIFF? I certainly would never "export normally and key out the backgrounf (sic) in AE"
    Perhaps you would care to explain your comments in more detail?
    If you are interested in the font style I used, it came from Tim Kolb back in the CS3 days or before. I have a link to his styles on my web site. I used to count the downloads, but over the years I lost track.
    Of course, having said that, if I was going to have a complicated title with motion, I would use AE to begin with.  And I would probably use a downloaded template as a starting point. But that is because other people are more creative than I am. I am just a techie dabbling on the creative side of things.
    By the way, I suppose I should get around to testing your product. If I like it, I will post a link on my web site to direct people to it. Feel free to send me an email from my web site telling me why people should use it and what you want people to know about it. And you might want to suggest how to test it as well. I used to get a LOT of visitors every day. It has cut way back since I have not been updating it. Now that I have started to update it again, I expect the visitor count will rise again. The moderator is only doing his/her job. This is a site sponsored by a corporation, and advertising for other companies is probably not good form (besides being against the rules).

  • KEYNOTE - Export to quicktime with slides turned off

    I have just done a full set of speaker walkup slide intros and then tried to output to quicktime with certain slides turned off and the ones I wanted to export turned on. Each time I would export the QT movie (for individual speakers turned on and the other turned off) and Keynote would record the first three slides rather than the three further in the deck that I have turned on. Has anybody had the same problem? Maddening!!!

    Apple promised a 6 month update scheme, that takes us to May 2014 to sort this out, in the meantime I'm using Keynote 09 for all the stuff, 6 cant do.

    trying to export a 4 minute video to desktop.  Only 1:08 seconds exports.  I've tried other clips and they all cut at 1:08.  Used different exports like Quicktime with the same results.

    Good to hear that you've had some success with the import.
    I tried 3 times to do it before I finally changed it to H.264, and it worked on the first try.  The quality of the compression was terrible with those settings compared to my standard settings, but I'm just glad it worked.
    Rather than Share>Export using QuickTime and then choosing your own settings for H.264, you may get a better result if you simply use the Share>Export Movie option. Alternatively, use the Share>Media Browser option (as I mentioned in my earlier post). You will be presented with a range of sizes to choose from. Depending on your target, it's usually best to select the highest size available, such as Large, HD 720p or HD 1080p. However, for producing a DVD it's best to not go beyond the HD 720p size, as the DVD will be downscaled during encoding to Standard Definition in the appropriate size for either PAL or NTSC.
    In my experience, both these options (Export Movie or Media Browser) produce a video file of excellent quality. The files will be in H.264 format and will have the file extension .mov or .m4v depending on the size of the export. I'm assuming that your camera records HD video in AVCHD format.
    These files work well with iDVD (or other DVD authoring programs). The export process for the presets is optimised by Apple to produce high quality video files at a reasonable file size. So, selecting a preset may give you a much better result. Choosing your own H.264 settings when using the "Export using QuickTime" method could be why "the compression was terrible". You may have selected a data (bit) rate that was too low. There is always a trade-off between quality and file size when compressing video.
    So, to summarise, try one of the Apple presets using either Share>Export Movie or Share>Media Browser.
