Re: illegal billing

Hi,
Can anyone explain to me why skype keeps taking money wrongfully from the credit that i have on my account for calls that i never made to algeria nor do i know anyone in algeria. This is becoming a daily habit on skype billing department. Every time i communicate skype to skype with someone, The next thing the billing department of skype does is to take money out of the credit that i have on my account with them. Can someone convince me that this is not becoming something similar to robbing a client. Please return all those money that were drawn from my account as i do not call anyone in algeria nor france. I will not deposit anymore money into my account as this is not going down in the right direction.
Regards,
Victor o. Ogo

  • Connection Fee for Skype Pro

I have been a Skype Pro user for years and have just realized just now that I have been paying a "connection fee" when making "FREE" local calls.
Chatting with a customer support person was useless.
If paying a monthly fee, then rid the "connection fee".
I am planning on taking this further.

I've been a Skype uaser since it's first beta public release and put a fair amount of money towards the service in Skype credit, when it was worth it.
As no good deed goes unpunished, I have never-ever received such inept "support" from any legit or non-legit operation. Count on Microsoft to screw up anyhting that used to be good and replace it with a faceless, suportless thingie that nowadays gives NSA a backdoor into it, to top things off.
Anyways, here is my take on it with Kenneth, the useless rep that kept reciting the menaingless mantra that this disgraced company calls "support":

Re: SRX1218625810ID - Skype Pro subscription useless
    Kenneth,
I would really like to talk to a supervisor / manager regarding this issue, which in my opinion is abusive and illegal billing.
You are now a Microsoft product and as such you should be abiding by US consumer laws, which are similar to the ones we have in Canada and offer consumer protection against scams like this.
Why does Skype keep charging me every month when the service I'm paying for is no longer offered?
And why wasn't I offered a credit or an upgrade based on the money I've invested in the "service"?
Please provide a path of escalation to this issue and / or an email address or phone number for someone in management that can answer these question and bring a resolution to the problem.
If I don't a response within 72 hrs - and I don't mean the kind of answers you are giving me, I will use every means at my disposal to discredit Skype for illegal billing practices and lack of actual customer support.

    Thank you for your response.
Upon checking your account, your Skype Pro started year 2008. Skype Pro is not offered anymore that is why it doesn't recognize you as a premium user. You can upgrade to other available subscription so you will be able to use other feature of Skype.
We will be waiting for your response.

  • Device / Account Security

    Hi all,
I have some security questions that I hope to get some more information about.
These questions are sparked because I have reason to believe that my IMEI, SN, SIM#, and who knows what else can be accessed by malicious software, may have been compromised.
    So, here are my questions:
What could someone potentially do if they were able to phish that information from your device?
I have read that some people have found ways to hijack devices and accounts using that information and racking up huge, illegal bills that the account owner gets stuck with.
Aren't the SIM# and IMEI used in conjunction to identify a device with an account?  If I just get a new SIM card, would that make my security concerns go away, since then my IMEI would be tied to a new, non-compromised SIM#?
Thanks for any feedback, tips, or resolutions to this issue!

  • Cancel billing doc with Accounting doc clearing

    Dear gurus ,
the scenario is that  we have a billing doc with wrong pricing and the relative accounting doc has cleared status, then we use VF11 to cancel the billing doc , the system give the information  "Document #### saved (no automatic clearing)" .Message no VF216 .
My question is,  based on the new cancellation function module AC_DOCUMENT_REVERSE, as note 1259505 description (The most evident effect of the new cancellation procedure is the automatic clearing of the accounting documents.), is that legal or illegal ,the system cancel the billing doc without checking the status of the related accounting doc ?
IF that is the standard reaction ,how can I make some change or config to make sure that ,the billing doc with cleared  accounting doc can't not be cancelled without reseting the status of accounting doc to "not cleared"?
    Thanks in advance ,
    Ryan

    Hi,
In my scenario system still cancel the invoice which is cleared but should not any accounting impact of canceled invoice
Even if you try to release manually by VF02 the massage will appear
Automatic clearing of billing document 12345
and canc. doc. 17777 not poss.
If don't want to allow creation of cancel invoice if origin invoice is cleared then do some enhancement.

  • REcieved BT Bill even after giving one month of No...

    Hi,
I know BT are desperate to keep customers, but when someone cancels, it becomes dishonest and i would have thought illegal for them to keep billing them.
I cancelled my BT subscription by giving 1 month's notice. I was not in any contract.
They explained to me that I have to pay 30GBP for cancellation if the new tenant doesnt take up th line. I agreed that I dont know when the new tenant will move in and if he doesnt take the same line then I will pay the cancellation ...but please close the account. Which the guy on that day confirmed to me as being processed.
For some reason though, I received an email today whereby I have been billed for next month cycle for both Phone and Broadband.
I am out of property and don't live there anymore and being billed for a service that I will no longer use and have already infomed BT for the stopping.
I called up BT to enquire. 5 or 6 phone calls later (from call center Guys in India .each of which I have to hold for at least 10 mins, and one of which the operator hung up on me! and each call costing many ££s) I was advised that there is no record for my notice in the systems. I told them a date then she managed to dig out the call (after 5 mins of hold) that I indeed made a call on the date I told but there is no record. After asking for the recording of the call and escalation to manager ...She became nice however and she said she will raise a complaint on my behalf and the manager will listen to call and will call back .
I got the call from Manager (Call Center India) on time mentioned and the manager repeats the same thing that he has gone thrugh the recording but he can't listen that I requested any cancellation. Although he confirmed the part conversation that I told them that I am moving out a new tenant will come in.
Asking for the details of conversation recording to be emailed to me He tells me that I need to pay 10pounds more as it's DAta protection (My own data and my own conversation) and gave me a postal address to send the cheque and request for the recordings.
This is highly unprofessional of BT (maybe call center guys can't understand ENGLISH) as I know why I called BT on X day and Y time... and what I requested. BT doesnt offer free phone-pleasure service :-) whereby I would call them hold the line for 30 mins to say I am moving house.. please keep on billing me :-)
It's very stupid of them telling me that I indeed called up but for What...????
Well I am clearly not getting anywhere on the phone, so I am posting on this forum in the hope that someone can steer me in the right direction to get this resolved please.
Or maybe on weekend Everything goes to Call centers in India who dont know how to deal with matters and just repeat a Script in fornt of them.
Is the only way to resolve, or is there a department that listens and doesn't leave you with your lunch break wasted and blood pressure raised?
    Thanks in advance...

using Apple TV for first time - to rent a movie.  Logged in successfully - billing info updated.  Keep getting message to log into Itunes on PC - movie won't load on TV -
    any advice?

3GB for a movie? That's almost equivalent to an original DVD.
Have you checked in the Recently Added playlist?
I think this is possibly linear.  Select 'normal' in HB, iTunes accepts it; select 'high quality' in HB iTunes doesn't.  I can't say why; I don't have any video that anywhere approaches 3GB in size.  If that's how iTunes behaves I don't see you have too many options.  You either select normal and it works, or you select HQ and live with playing the movie outside of iTunes.
I won't ask what movie because any help with illegally ripped copy protected DVDs is strictly prohibited by the Terms of Use so I'm assuming this is a 6 hour video of your puppy playing on the floor.

  • I am being harassed by customer service the day after my bill is due every month.

At least 6 phone calls every day, beginning at 5am, followed by text messages. All you have to you is tell me once, via text, that my payment is due. I indicated on my Verizon Wireless account online that my preferred method of contact is text message. I do not appreciate the harassment, as a customer of 11 years, who always pays the bill without disconnection. Here's a novel idea - Leave me a voicemail, automated or not, and you will get the message across. Of course I'm not going to answer the phone at 5am, but that is no reason to call me every 2 hours for the rest of the day! Calling every 2 hours is not going to magically make more money appear in my bank account. Yesterday it was 5:43am, 9:10am, 10:21am, and 11:24am. I answered the one at 11:24am to indicate to the service rep that I was planning to pay my bill the following day, but just waiting for a check to clear in my bank account. When the service rep actually picked up from the automated calling system, it sounded like she was on an airplane rifling through a big stack of papers in a microphone. I couldn't hear a single thing she said, and just tried to yell over the background noise that I was paying my bill the next day. Finally I had to tell her that I was hanging up because I couldn't hear hear at all. Today so far I've been called at 5:43am, 7:36am, 9:36am. I paid my bill at 9:30, and just got another call at 10:07am and 10:14am. No voicemails, of course. I do not appreciate this treatment, and it disgusts me to be harassed on this level. It's inhuman.

mrhelper If I am paying my bill late, it does not mean I am deserving of harassment. It means I deserve to be called and notified of my late payment and asked for said payment. It does not mean I deserve calls every 2 hours beginning at 5am. I'm talking about harassment here. It is illegal for a debt collector to harass you under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). It does not mean that you don't still owe the money, but it means you are entitled to being treated like a human being about it. There are laws being broken here. I'm filling out a report with the FTC, and hopefully they will consider changing their methods of contacting their customers. My phone has never been disconnected, but yes, I have delayed the payment a few days past due before. Sometimes the money just isn't there on the exact day the bill is due, but I always pay it. Such was the case this month. I am on a road trip across the country, have no access to my bank, and had to wait for a paycheck to clear from across the country. There was nothing I could do except wait. My snarky response to anyone else is because the point is being missed about my complaint. I didn't write this forum post to get lectured about being responsible about my bills. I wrote this post because I am reaching a dead end with contacting Verizon Wireless customer service directly. They seem to pigeonhole you into using their social media outlets. Instead of hearing from Verizon Wireless directly, I hear from people who are just trolling this forum to be mean to people.

  • Typical BT, Get the BILL WRONG and then penalise m...

    Hi all
Can anyone advise me how to get this problem sorted as I am fed up with being illegally overcharged and am no moving away from BT NEVER TO RETURN....
I had my last bill and was shocked as it was £111. All my calls and broadband are through SKY, so all I should have is a quarters line rental plus the VAT..... around £12 a month so the idiot on sales told me. SO why £111.... some idiot had added call packages and god knows what else to my account without my authorisation. "Is this not ILLEGAL"?.
Of course I quiried it and was told it would be removed NEXT BILL so just pay it and BT would credit me next bill. SORRY DOES MY NAME HAVE THE WORD BANK IN IT?... Of course I refused and after what seemed hours of arguments this idiot in god knows what bleedin country agreed to get the bill sorted and post me a new copy. I AM STILL WAITING FOR IT TO ARRIVE. After being overcharged the bill prior and paying it and hoping it to be credited back then I REFUSE TO KEEP POURING MONEY INTO YOUR BANK BT.......
Now I have chased this almost everyday and keep being told to pay the £111...NO..!!! Send me a bill that is correct and I will of course pay it, but I wont pay double in the hope you give it me back next month.... NO..!!!
Now I have a disabled daughter and her medical equipment is connected to the phone incase we need he specialists to have immediate access to her monitors.... and you know this BT, it is an absolute must for her health... And you have disconnected us.... well put it this way sort the bill and I will pay it.... overcharge me and I will see a solicitor...... I NEED THE PHONE ON AND NEED IT ON NOW.... or am off to Virgin media TODAY...
So can anyone who reads this advise me what I should do please. I have no idea what is actually owed, I only have line rental no packages on the line.... if that figure can be magically told me to me then we have sorted... still will be noving away and telling as many people as possible of the thieving ways you operate....
    HELP PLEASE.....
    Thanks

    HI
Yes I finally got it sorted. I spent well over 2 hours in a payphone talking to a lady in the Indian Call Centre. She went right back to the start of the account and we went through everything. By the end of the phone call it was agreed I actually owed £9.52. I went straight to our local Post Office and paid £10.
I have now left BT and am with another supplier, but last week got my final bill. Now get ready for this the bill was for £7.50, but as I had already got 48p in credit it was now £7.02. The £7.50 charge is for late payment on the well over inflated bill...!!!!
I have rung the call centre again and told them that they can swing for that.... over charge then as I refused to pay add a late payment fee.......
All I can say is BT used to be one of the best telephony suppliers in the country but as the Uk Government paid for most of the original systems when they were the GPO and once all that was paid for became a private company not a bad deal... BUT THANK GOD I AM NOW NO LONGER A BT CUSTOMER, and never will be again. I would rather use a mobile than have this sort of service....
Good luck in getting your problem sorted but dont hold your breath it would be hazardous to your health...!!!

  • Premium Carrier Billing

    There has been a lot of discussion on the forum recently about charges for content provided via Premium Direct Carrier billing. Example of these are (not an exhaustive list);
    Playweez
    KKO store
    SkillDerby
    PlayPlanet
    FiiTr
While the charges appear on your mobile bill Telstra does not market or develop these services. We allow our customers to purchase the content from these mobile sites and charge their mobile bill for convenience. Telstra enforces a number of consumer safeguards so that third party providers follow mandatory policies and industry rules to adequately inform customers on advertising, promotion, pricing, opt out and the purchase process for each service.
For example, consumers must be able consent or opt into the purchase of any third party content and receive a online confirmation of their order, before they proceed to use the content. A subscription confirmation text message is sent weekly from the content provider, notifying the customer of ongoing content charges landing on their mobile bill and how to opt out of the subscription service. The service provider’s help line is always included on the messages as well as on the customer’s mobile bill.
If you have been billed for a Premium Direct Carrier billed service and wish to unsubscribe or have a query about the charges then you need to contact the content provider in the first instance. If you have contacted the service provider and are not satisfied with the response then contact Telstra for assistance.
Finally, it is important to note that to stop charges you must unsubscribe from the service by sending STOP to a 19 number or speaking to the provider directly. While contacting Telstra and reducing premium service threshold to $0 will stop new subscriptions from being added, existing ones will continue until cancelled and are not affected by this change.

Dan, Dingo dan and the all the other moderators, wake up. This is a dishonest disgusting and aborhent set up and your customers are coping a flogging. Closing threads and moving issues only prevents us victims from warning other victims of the merry-go-round you are about to put them on. This Is a telstra issue. Fobbing off your customers who are being exploited and  by your lack of dilligence and blatent ignorence of the scam you are even more to blame than the people you are facititating. None of us want anything to do with these theives and you are forcing us into dangerous situations.I followed your process, was treated as a criminal by you and KKO for asking for my own money back. I have a pre paid service with you, i paid to have phone calls, SMS text and data, not for you to give it to the first joe blow who shows up with my phone number and a random date (which they can get anywhere).Contacted KKO (against my better judgement) via email provided by you (to wash your hands of the issue and fulfil your legal obligation to refer) and 3 months later they obliged me with a reply stating that they need more info. Namely my address and a copy of my phone bill. (Note this will give them enough information about me to apply for credit in my name). Given they were able to steal $30 from me with only my phone number you can imagine how keen i am to give them more. If someone dishonestly charges my credit card does the bank send me to india to get it back from them? No they refund it as they facititated an illegal transfer and if unable to recover they wear the costs. No difference here. For all of you chasing thier tail like me, my advice take the half payment offered by the first telstra consultant, reduce premium SMS to 0$ mark and cut your losses. its quite clear nobody, not the ACCC, not the ombudsman or even the communications alliance (http://www.commsalliance.com.au/contact-us) have any regard for your plight and will actively work to protect telstras interest and noone elses. Sorry for the reality check. P.S when the class action starts, add me to the list. I'm so cranky it might be me who starts it over $30.

How can i have a billing plan if my country cannot be listed in itunes store. Is there any other way i could download apple apps without a billing plan?

The living issue is complex in my case. Legally speaking, I have no personal residence globally. I just live wherever my father goes, which is everywhere. I'm an expat and it seems that these sites aren't really expat-friendly. They seem to be built for localization and assume everyone stays in the same place.
I don't know what I'd be considered. I'm a US passport holder and live in China, but I only speak some Chinese and I can't read it (it using non-latin characters is just too much for my mind's memory to handle). Besides that, I'm not interested in popular Chinese apps. They tend to just be annoying and kooky and generic and put together badly, often full adware and spyware (speaking for most Chinese software, in fact). In fact, a lot of apps I want are illegal in China (YouTube, Facebook, etc) and I use a VPN to use the services. I assume I wouldn't find these apps on the Chinese store. In fact, last I checked, there wasn't many English apps on the Chinese app store. This is probably due to their strict moderation or something.
I've been going to international schools since I got here and college would be in English too. I can speak some Chinese, but not read it.
Well, I guess the answer is that I can't use the App Store in English. So I guess I'll just sign out everything on my phone involving my Apple account and just start using third-party tools to do my business.

  • DOUBLE-BILLED

I’ve made a number of online purchases using Pay Pal Credit (formerly Bill Me Later) in the months of June and July 2015. My bank statements show Pay Pal debited ALL OF THOSE PURCHASES directly from my bank account and then also charged me as if I only used my credit line. In other words, I’m being double-billed (i.e. I’m paying Pay Pal twice for a single transaction).  this is easy to prove - ether Pay Pal will fix it or I'm filing in small claims... My question is, why has this happened and how long will it take to fix?  Double-billing is unethical and illegal regardless if it was intentional or otherwise.

Suggest you ask customer services those questions.

  • Outragous bill

I was just on the phone for over 27 minutes trying to find out why my residential land line with no long distance bill jumped from 31.77 a month to 56.71 this month. then I got cut off!!! I  DO NOT intend to pay this bill and verizon had better contact me or they have lost a customer of over 23 tears. This is **bleep**!

They over billed me for a year for a box that was returned. Gave me three months back and then told me I had to write to a company in st Pete to get the remaining over payment back. That was months ago and I have never heard back from them or gotten my money back. When I call the billing dept they say they can't do anything. It's the perfect rip off scheme. Over charge the customer and then make it impossible to get your money back. Isn't this illegal?? What a racket. This company sucks!! Lucky thing is, they aren't the only game in town! Trouble is, they could care less! Verizon SUCKS!

  • HP says my product is illegal?

I purchased sealed pack of  hp probook 4530 (XU015UT#ABA) an year back from computer shop in Gujrat ,India , seller gave me a bill of his shop  .last month accidently i lost recovery partition and all data . I phoned Hp for support but they told me tha sir this product is not registerd on your name and this product has been purchased in USA . they asked invoice copy for service. later hp called back and asked for my personnel information but fearing any problem I did not give them any information. I want to know is my product illegal? Can I get support from HP ?

I suspect it was grey import, US model purchased by a supplier your seller uses then resold to you.
You can get recovery discs from HP but not free.
You can however get the Windows image for free if Windows 7 for reinstall of OS if this is what is needed & use the serial on base of notebook for activating it.
Any drivers & software can be downloaded for free from HP support & drivers
If you are on W7 you can use Windows inbuilt backup image tool to create your own recovery making the need of HP recovery discs obsolete if hard to get in your region ...
This model could also of been xp pro or vista & legal issue of these OS's is not so easy ...
