Reader X spooling print issue

Hi
we just recently switch our whole network from XP/cs4 to win 7/reader x. We didn't reinstall cs4 as nobody needed anything beside being able to read pdf and print.
Everytime somebody print a pdf document (for example our biggest one 48 pages) and print multiple copy (let say 20), the spooling process for a normal user will literraly go through 960 times and send 1 document to print with 960 pages. on My pc in IT department with either reader X or CS4, it only process 48 pages and sent 20 copy.
The other issue linked to spooling is when we try out A3 documents (2 pages questionnaires for patients 3.7Mb files), nobody can print on network beside myself, reader usually fail on spooling, or print half document without any Text, just images of box.
I'm not really use how to troubleshoot this as we didn't do anything, we use a print server just as before with a spool queue for HP (all sames) or differents sharps. It doesn't matter which printer we choose, which make me think it's on a user settings/rights as it work fine from domain admin accounts/IT pc.
Thanks

after more tests it seems that any pc that got only reader X will have this problem (2 documents of 3 pageswill  print 1 doc of 6 pages back to back without blank page between.)
on the 2 pc that got cs4 (mine is full installation including adobe pro 9, colleague got all but pro 9) everything work fine.
on any other pc that got wiped from XP and received win 7 with adobe reader 10.1.0 this problem occur.
I also discovered this problem only occur when we use the main print screen from adobe software, but not if we go into printer properties and setup the amount of copies we want.

  • PostScript settings in Reader XI causing print issue

    Greetings,
I have one user on one PC unable to print from Reader XI.  When I log in, printing is normal...both users are local administrators.  The only difference I can see is in Reader's Advanced print settings; the problem user has PostScript Options available, where normal printing seems to pull the settings from a printer or print driver automatically (greyed out and unavailable).  It is as if something is overriding the default behavior for this user only.  I have tried defaulting the printer options, reinstalling Reader XI with no progress.  Does anyone know what user specific setting might be causing this behavior?
Thanks in advance for any ideas!

I appreciate the suggestion... however I don't think the driver is the issue because I can send the same .pdf job from the same PC to the same IP printer OK.  It is only one user having the issue... his job from Reader is never sent, spooled, nothing.  The Problem User is able to print from all other apps OK.  This is why I asked about user specific settings affecting Reader's ability to communicate with the print driver on a user specific basis.
Maybe I wasn't clear about the issue.  Again; same print driver, same ip printer, same PC, same file, different user, different PostScript Options state in Reader - Print - Advanced, different result.   Problem User's PostScript Options are not greyed out by default, not printing from Reader at all regardless of PostScript Options manually selected.
What could be preventing Reader from automatically pulling those default (greyed out) settings, on the individual user profile level, from a printer that is otherwise printing fine from Reader for other users on the same machine?
    Thanks again

  • Adobe Reader 10 & 11 Printer Issues

Printing double sided and with staples doesn't work with adobe reader.
I print 2 copies double sided with staples, without collationIt prints 2 copies, but staples pages 1 together, 2 together, 3 together. It won't stable pages 1,2,3 together as one document
I print 2 copies double sided with staples with collationIt prints 2 copies in the right order, but it only uses 1 staple to staple all of the documents together.
I can print double sided with staples on word and it comes out correct. So this issue is isolated with only Adobe Reader.
One fix I see people doing, is reverting back to adobe reader 9. But adobe no longer has adobe reader 9 available for download.
Did anyone find a fix to this? I see a lot of unanswered forum questions about this. I even called adobe about this issue, but they refused to answer the question.

    Hi Jonthegiant,

  • Spool Printing Issue

    Hi All,
I have created a Invoice Form  which generates multiple documents in single output. I have done this by calling the generated FM inside a loop. The users scheduled the Invoice form as a background job and Now it has an output of one spool with 2500 Invoice forms.
I tried to print all the forms together from the spool, but it only prints the first one.  Is there any way we can print all the documents in the spool in single shot...
    Regards,
    Mohammed Shukoor.

    Hi,
Please try the option of Print with Changed parameters  which you can find by going to SM37 > SPOOL> Click on Print With Changed parameters ICON.
    or
SM37>SPOOL of the Background JOB > Menu Spool request > Print > with Changed parameters.

  • Adobe Reader X duplex printing issue

Each time I try to print a pdf, the application changes the default duplex from no duplex (single sided set in the properties of the printer in windows control panel ) to duplex(print on both sides).  I can uncheck the box to have it not print the duplex.
This is frustrating because each time I open a new pdf I have to do this?
    Adobe reader X
    Printer is a Kyocera 1128
    Any one got any ideas?

I was having the same problem, and I found the answer on another site. To fix it, you need to edit/create a registry key:
Open Regedit, and surf to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\AVGeneral
Look for a DWORD named "iDuplexMode". If it's there, change the value to 1
If it's not there, create it - Add a new DWORD, name it "iDuplexMode" (no quotes) and enter the value 1
Close Regedit, and restart Reader if you had it running.
Now the printing dialog will default to having duplex turned off.
The only problem with this is it will only work for the current user...For multi-account machines, you'll have to do this for every user, or create a .reg file for them to import.

  • Reader X and printing issues

This past weekend I updated  Acrobat on my wife's computer (Windows XP SP3).  I uninstalled Acrobat  9, downloaded and installed Acrobat X.  Everything seemed to work, I get  a frantic phone call Wednesday night from my wife (we are trying to  sell my house 40 miles away and I'm house sitting...), when she prints a  PDF form from the web, the printing is screwed up, the original font  appears to have some italics, that was changed to some sort of bold font  that is compressed horizontally, the kerning looks weird as well.  It  looks okay on the screen but totally screwed up on the printed page.
So Wednesday night, I use her laptop that hasn't been updated (thankfully), downloaded and printed the page and it looks fine.
I  had her test the same functionality on her work computer and the same  thing happens.  I also updated her work computer (from Acrobat 8) the  same weekend <sigh>.
    Does anyone have a clue?

    Hi Guys,
Had the same problem at a client site and it was driving me crazy.  Turns out that its a very simple fix.  Under Preferences in the General tab, take a tick out of Enable Protected Mode at startup.
Once I did that on all client computers they printed fine to all printers.
    Hope that helps some people.
    Cheers

  • Archive & Install, now printing issues

    Hi all,
I have two printers: an HP6110 AllinOne, and an Epson Stylus Photo 1200. I recently performed an archive and install of my system, and then Software Update updated my system to OS10.4.11 (it was 10.4.10 before the archive and install).
There are two parts to my current problems.
    1. The original Epson driver does not work anymore. (Version 1.29 is what I have, can't find anything later.) The CUPS/Gutenprint driver does work but doesn't access all the features of my Epson printer. So, what that means is that the color calibration settings I have for the Epson driver are no longer accessible. I need to be able to print color that is correct and calibrated to my monitor color.
2a. Printing a page to the HP6110 off the internet results in a blank page being spit out, followed by a page that is cut off at the top, meaning only the bottom half of the page is printed on the paper. I have tested this printing from FireFox and Safari.
    Page setup seems normal.
The HP driver version is 2.7.2. I have tried to download from the HP site but it always times out, so I don't know if I have the latest driver or not. (I think it's something with my firewall settings, but I haven't been able to figure it out. One thing at a time.)
An internet page prints normally when sent to the Epson, but the HP is my workhorse printer. The Epson can do large format, so I usually keep large paper in it and just use it for that and for color correct printing. (Greg S., if you're out there, I tried to download the HP driver from OpenPrint with no luck.)
2b. Although I can print to the HP6110, the color looks terrible--all washed out. I will admit that I have not gone into Adobe Bridge yet to see if my color settings survived the Archive and Install. So that may fix it for my Adobe apps. Word docs are not the same as they were, but not as badly off as the Adobe docs.
    Thanks, Folks! --D

Update: Re Issue 2b: I checked the color settings in Adobe Bridge for my Adobe apps. They are all set to my original settings, using the calibrated profiles, so all is well there.
I have been reading about other printing issues and may try some of those solutions offered:
    1. unplug everything for a while--although why this would solve it who knows? Crazy! But easy, so worth a try.
    2. download and reinstall the 10.4.11 update from the Apple web site, instead of running it via Software Update.
    3. reinstall OS10.4.x from the original disks and then download updates only through when you could last print, 10.4.9 or 10.4.10.
    I will post my results!

  • Acrobat Reader 8.1.2 network print issue after installing XP SP3

I administer a network of 30+ workstations, and since installing Acrobat 8.1.2 and Windows XP Service Pack 3, I've been experiencing odd behavior from the print function in the reader.
Staff can open a pdf document with no issues, but when they try to print to a network printer, nothing happens. I then in turn open wordpad on their workstation, do a "File, Print", and the print functions properly.
I then can go back to the reader, and the print job will work.
Nothing has changed on my network in regards to previous settings, with the exception of installing reader 8.1.2, and XP SP3.
    Any ideas, or potential solutions?

You are not alone. I hope you get some response. We have seen nor heard anything.
    See: http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/?13@@.59b56569/6
Title: Adobe Reader v8.1.2 Compatible with Windows XP Pro SP3
One ray of hope is that it seems to be getting quicker. I don't know why but I'll take it!
When I go to this Windows XP link,
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsxp/default.mspx
it says I am running SP2 instead of saying I am running SP3, which is what my System Properties says is installed. Just something to think about and perhaps check.

  • Reader 10.1.3 Kyocera Print Issue

    Hello,
we are experiencing an Print-Issue in one of our field offices in Austria.
After we deployed Acrobat Reader 10.1.3 (from 9.5) the employees in this Office were no longer able to print on an Kyocera FS-C5015N(via Network), when they try to print any PDF they get the following error message : "Adobe reader has encountered a problem and needs to close"
Because this Kyocera is only in this office we cannot reproduce this Issue somewhere else.
We are running Win XP Sp3
There is no other PDF Software installed
    What we already tried :
    - Re-Install Acrobat Reader 10.1.3
    - Re-Install Printer on the PCs
    - Re-Install Printerdrivers
    - Re-Configure Printer Settings
    - Re-Configure Printer Network Settings
    - Disable "Protected Mode on Startup"
    - Disable "Show PDF in Browser"
    - Enable the "Print as Picture" setting
    - Different PDFs,
    - When we Print to another local Printer there is no Problem(but thats a small&slow one and just our Emergency Solution)
    - After we Re-Installed the Printer on the PCs the first printing attempt works without Problems
    - Tried to print over the Network from my office (Vienna) on this printer -> same Problems
    - Also some other "tricks" the local IT-Expert tried
So my question is, if anyone is experiencing the same Issue on this Kyocera or any other or can give me any Feedback according this Problem.
    Thanks !

Regarding your issue; it appears you have already tried everything possible - I have no other ideas what to try with 10.1.3.
The only solution for now I can see is to revert back to 9.5.1; is this a problem for you?  This should be only temporarily until a new version of 10.x or 11.x becomes available.

  • Adobe Reader 9.1.3 Issues with browser viewing and printing

I have several users reporting issues after upgrading to Adobe Reader 9.1.3
Issue #1:  User tries to open a PDF on a bank website using Adobe 9.1.3 but receives an error stating file could not be found.  Adobe 9 was uninstalled and Adobe 6 re-installed.  The file on the bank website was then viewable without issue.
Issue #2:  Different user successfully opens pdf on a different bank website, but is unable to print while viewing in browser using Adobe 9.1.3.  User had to save file to desktop and reopen locally to print from Adobe 9.1.3.   Uninstalling 9.1.3 and re-installing Adobe 6 allowed them to print from the browser successfully.
Issue #3:  turning off "View in Browser" causes the error "File cannot be found" when trying to view a PDF on a website.  This appears to be happening on sites external to our network, but not on internal sites.  Turning on "View in Browser" corrects the problem.
Any assistance that can be provided would be greatly appreciated!

To clarify my previous post, I had already seen http://forums.adobe.com/message/1770581 .  I mentioned in my post that I get the message "Preview not supported" when I click the Preview button from the print dialog in Adobe Reader, and thus concluded that the "Preview" workaround discussed in that thread wasn't helping me.
However, re-reading that post, they were talking about using the Mac "Preview" application to print the pdf file.  Like every other application (other than Reader) I have tried, the Mac's Preview application prints just fine, and is another workaround.
The only program that doesn't print for me is Adobe Reader.
BTW, I also have an Intel chip in my MacBook Pro.
Re-installing Leopard, as suggested by one post in that thread, is not a reasonable option for this problem.
In fact, since Preview allows me to view and print .pdf's , my solution is probably just going to be not to use Adobe Reader.  In fact, had I not been new to the Mac, I would have known that I didn't need Adobe Reader at all.
However, I'm glad this happened, in the sense that I use CS3 on the PC, and had considered moving to CS4 on the Mac.  However, since Adobe apparently hasn't figured out how to get printing to work on a Mac from their flagship product (!), I will be sure to do a lot of testing of CS4 before considering buying the upgrade.

  • Adobe Reader X printing issue

    Hi there,
since we implemented Adobe Reader X in our testing invironment, we habe a printing issue with some of our printers.
In our main network we use Adobe Reader 9.3.4 and with that version therer are no problems with any printer.
Even if a document was printed by a user as more than 1 example, on some printers Adobe Reader prepares the document the many times the user wants to print it. E.g. the user wants to print it out 5 times, Adobe Reader prepares it 5 times for the printer, then it would be printed out.
This is a major problem if a user wants to print out documents with more than 20 pages more than 50 times...
This problem first appear with Version X of Adobe Reader and I didn't find anything about that.
Can anybody help us with that. If more information is regarded, I would to my best to publish...
    Regards

Can nobody help with this request?

  • Printing Issue with Adobe Reader 11.0.01 with collate/stapling

    Hello,
If I send a Word document to the copier with instruction to make 6 copies, collate and staple it works fine. If I send a PDF document with the same instructions it prints all the copies out and staples them all together.
I have reinstalled Adobe Reader and my printer driver.  I run on Windows XP Pro SP3 (fully patched) and using a Xerox 7435 printer.

Can you open Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

  • Printing issues in Windows 8.1

    Hello,
I work for a company and we have a number of network printers shared, when we connect to a network printer it installs the driver and everything is fine and normally this is the end of it but recently I have one user who is having print issues. It seems
as though every time he takes his laptop home and brings it back he is unable to print, the printers show offline or the job appears to print but never does. Today we got this error when attempting to print a test page " Test page failed to print. Would
you like to view the printer TS for assistance? The server print spooler service is not running" which it was because I had stopped and started it several times already. Finally I was able to delete the network printers and reinstall them as a temporary
fix but history has demonstrated that once he take this laptop home the problem will reoccur. I read and re-read most of the come close to describing my issue but not completely.
    Thanks,
    OSAMTEC

every time he takes his laptop home and brings it back he is unable to print, the printers show offline or the job appears to print but never does.
Could there be a naming conflict?
Otherwise it looks as if there is a troubleshooter for printer and other loosely associated categories.  Have you tried them?
BTW I'm curious if WMIC could be used here.  As I just mentioned in another incident these look interesting:
    C:\>wmic.exe /? | find /i "print"

PRINTERCONFIG            - Printer device configuration management.
    PRINTJOB                 - Print job management.

  • HP OfficeJet 2544 Windows 8.1 Printing Issue

    Hi there,
I am having a frustrating problem with my HP OfficeJet 2544.  It happens all the time if I want to print anything more than one or two pages, and it only happens to me on my Desktop PC (i.e. my wife's laptop doesn't experience the issue).
What is happening is this:  I send a document (multiple pages) to the printer, and then after the first page or so, I get a Windows 8 error message popping up saying the document couldn't print.  The printer then spits out whichever page it is currently printing, usually half printed.  If I want to print a multi page document, I have to print it one page at a time.  I can't even send it to the printer in groups of 2 or 3 pages!
The printer is connected wirelessly, but I don't think it is a wireless issue.  We have good strong signal in our house, and in any case, if it was a wireless connection issue my wife would have the same issue, which she does not.
I thought there was some bug in my Windows 8.1 installation, so I did a clean reinstall.  This did not fix the issue.  I have also tried reinstalling the drivers (did not work either) and clearing out the Print Spooler folder (again, no luck).
The only thing I can think of is that a while back the HP Update program said there was a Firmware update for the printer, which I installed.  But if this was the problem, I imagine it would be affecting my wife's Laptop too?
I am getting fed up with the issue, and as I am doing a part-time degree I have to print multi-page documents from time to time!  Does anyone have any ideas?

    Hello @SamuelH82
I have some ideas that come to mind when I read through your post about the printing issues you have solely from your computer, as the other computer works find with the printer.
The printer hardware proves to test out alright, as the other computer does function fine with it.
I would suggest first running the Print and Scan Doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for any conflicts that could be causing the issue. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there was a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results. This alone could help fix the problem.
Also, try printing from other programs. Do they all appear to have the same problem?
Disable any firewalls and anti-virus' temporarily. Try printing again to see if that helped.
How far is the printer from your computer, and what are in between them that could cause interference? Having the computer and printer too close could cause disconnections.
Let me know the results thus far and your findings.
Enjoy the rest of your day
