what is the pupose of  rebate agrrement? configuaration process

    Hi Deva,
As he rightly said, you need to understand the basic sd module functionlity, else make a small search in forum.
I dont want to dispoint you this time, going forward do it. For your reference find the complete config process of rebate.
What do you mean by Rebate: - Rebate is a special kind of discount, which is paid retroactively to a customer once he achieves or reaches the sales volumes, in a given period of time.
Rebate agreement: - A Rebate agreement is an agreement between the business and a customer. The rebate is only relevant if the customer purchases the required sales volume. In rebate agreement, you specify who receives the rebate payment and on what criteria rebate is based. Ex. Customer, customer and material etc,.
Rebate agreement type: - The rebate agreement type determines which data the system is to automatically propose for rebate agreement.
    Structure:
You can define the following data in a rebate agreement:
    •     Validity period
    •     Status (whether the agreement is released for settlement)
    •     Rebate recipient (the party who receives the credit memo)
    •     Currency
    •     Method of payment (cheque, bank transfer etc)
    Data Defined In Condition Records:
    •     Basis for rebate (customer, customer/ material, rebate group, etc)
    •     Validity period (the validity must lie with in the validity of rebate agreement)
    •     Cond rate
    •     Material for settlement
    •     Accrual rate
    •     Other control data, such as pricing scale type
    Prerequisites for Rebate Processing:
    •     Sales orgn: must be relevant for rebate processing
    •     Payer: must be relevant for rebate processing
    •     Billing type: (invoice, credit memo etc) must be relevant for rebate processing
For performance reasons, you should deactivate rebate processing if it is not necessary.
Material for Settlement:  – In case of customer rebate where there is no material linked, a dummy material is give as material for settlement.
You may have to create rebates that do not depend on a material, but instead, e.g. on:
    •     A Customer
    •     A Customer Hierarchy
    •     A Group of Materials
You will then need to refer to a material for settlement. The system uses this material when you pay out the rebate. It does not matter which material type & mat application type you use.
When you create the cond record with in the rebate agreement, the system automatically asks you to enter the no of material for settlement.
Manual accruals: – Instead of posting accruals from the billing documents, manually we can post accruals through the debit memo. If you activate this field if you want to be able to post manually for this agreement type.
Reverse accruals:- Whatever manual accruals we have given can be reversed through the reverse accruals. Mark this field if you want accruals to be reversed when a manual payment is made for a rebate agreement of this type. The system uses reverses accruals for the amount of the manual payment. If the cumulative accruals are not sufficient, the system reverses the accruals amount, which exists.
    Relationship to Pricing
    •     Rebates differ from other kinds of discounts in that they are based on sales volume over time and are paid retroactively.
    •     However, the system processes rebates in much the same way as other kinds of pricing elements.
    •     Rebate data is saved in condition records.
    •     Controlling for rebate processing is carried out via condition types, pricing procedures and access sequences.
    •     This control data is defined in Customizing for Sales and Distribution.
Rebate based on Group of Materials:
A rebate group consists of materials to which you want to apply the same rebate. You system administrator can define rebate group in Customizing for Sales according to the need o f the orgn.
You can assign a material to a rebate group in the MMR: view- Sales, field- Rebate Grp. When you create a cond record, you must enter a settlement material.
    Rebate Agreement Types:
Agreement Type     Basis for Rebate          Cond Type
    0001     Customer / Material     % Rebate     BO01
         Customer / Rebate Group     % Rebate     BO01
    0002     Customer / Material      Quantity Dependent     BO02
    0003     Customer     Percent rebate     BO03
0004     Customer hierarchy     Percent rebate     BO04
Customer hierarchy / Material     Percent rebate     BO05
    0005     Sales Volume Independent          BO06

    1. Define Agreement Types:

    •     From
    •     To
    •     Reverse accruals: flag it on
    •     Manual Accrual Doc Type:           Doc Type (R4) & Billing Doc Type: B4
    •     Verification level: payer, material
    •     Partial payment:               Doc Type (R3) & Billing Doc Type: B3
    •     Rebate credit memo:               Doc Type (R1) & Billing Doc Type: B1
    2. Define Condition Type Groups:
Copy & rename: 0002. Give the same code as given to agreement type.
    3. Assign Condition Type to Condition Type Group:
In this activity one needs to assign the cond type from the pricing procedure to the cond type group found on the rebate agreement type. The sequence no column represents the fields in the cond table that determines what the system is to use as the basis for rebate. In this e.g., 1 determines that the cond type should use the fields customer & material. The cond type group 0002 will use pricing cond type BO02. Before assigning cond type to cond type group, you have to create a cond type.
         Cond Technique for rebate processing:
    •     Create cond table
    •     Maintain access sequence
    •     Define cond type: BO02 is the cond type used in pricing, copy & rename.
    •     Assign cond type to cond type group: BO02 to 0002
    •     Maintain pricing procedure: assign cond type BO02 to pricing proc, after total discount & before freight. Assign Subtotal: 7, Account Key: ERB, Accruals: ERU (keeping reserve money from customer money), & Requirement: 24 (rebate will get affected in billing doc & not in sales doc)
    •     The cond type BO02 must use cond class ‘C’- expense reimbursement.
    •     The rebate procedure in BO02: indicates if the cond is dependent or independent of sales volume
    •     The accruals correction proc indicates if accruals must be corrected when this cond type is accessed.
    4. Assigning Cond Type Groups to Agreement Type:
Here you are presented with a list of agreement types as created in the system & you can assign the relevant cond type group
    5. Activate Rebate Processing: at the following levels.
    •     Sales orgn level: activate rebate processing for sales organisations
    •     Billing Document: select billing doc for rebate processing
    •     Customer: active rebate in CMD Sales Area Data, Billing Tab Page.
    Billing Document Types
F2     Standard Invoice     F1     Order Relate invoice
    BV     Cash Sale     B1, B2, B3, B4     Rebate invoices
G2     Credit Memo     L2     Debit Memo
S1     Invoice Cancellation     S2     Cancel Credit Memo
    IV     Inter Company Sales
NOTE: - You cannot activate Rebates for Billing document type – F5 & F8, since they are proforma invoices.
    Create Rebate Agreements: VBO1

Agreement type: 0002 & press enter. In the over view screen fill the following details:
    •     Rebate recipient: payer no
    •     Currency
    •     Validity Period
    •     Agreement Status: open
    •     Then Go To Conditions Icon & Fill
    •     Material, Rebate Amount, Accruals & save
    •     Then create sales order, delivery, picking, goods issue & invoice
    •     After this in order to see rebate in sales order cycle Go to: VF01 Go to Conditions (item). You can check rebate in VF01 before saving or else you can also see in VF02.
    Rebate Settlement: VBO2
    •     The system uses the accumulated amounts in the rebate agreement to create a rebate settlement.
    •     The system generates a rebate credit memo request for the rebate payment amount specified.
    •     There are 3 statuses available for rebate agreements
    1.     Status A refers to an open rebate agreement.
    2.     Status B means the rebate is released for settlement.
    3.     Status C means you have actually executed the settlement. The System creates a credit memo request for the accrual amount.
    •     You can display the sales volume and drill-down in the rebate agreement.
    •     You can carry out a final settlement for the rebate agreement either:
    a.     Manually
    b.     Automatically
    c.     In the background (batch programs: RV15C001 and RV15C002)
    •     Accruals are reversed as soon as the rebate agreement is settled by credit memo.
    Process of Rebate settlement:
    •     Use VBO2 and type in the agreement Number. Change the Agreement Status to B and click on Final Settlements->Automatic. On doing so, a Credit Memo Request gets created.
    •     Status is set to C. Save it.
    •     A credit Memo Request Number is generated.
    •     Go to VA02 and type in the Credit Memo Request number generated. Remove the Billing Block and Save it.
    •     Use VA02 to go to Sales Document and Click on Billing. On Saving it, the Credit Memo Request is now Billed
    •     Go to VBO3 and see the Agreement Status. It would have been set to D, which means that final settlement of agreement has been carried out.
    Important:-
    1. When you save the rebate agreement, the system will automatically create a credit memo request. The system uses this document to create a credit memo. When the credit memo is released, the accruals are posted to FI.
    2. If you have posted accruals manually, but these have not been passed on to financial accounting, the manual accruals and manual payments in the rebate agreement are blocked.
    3. The system can use the sold to party or ship to party as we as payer as the rebate recipient. You cannot use alternative partner as the rebate recipient, such as alternative payer for the CMD of the sole to party.

  • Rebate scenarios

    Dear All,
In rebate scenario, before starting of year, quarter and month there is agreement between customer
and company that if he achieves his 100 % target(in inr) he will get extra discount 1% and if he achieve
110% he will get 2% and if he achieve above 110% he will get 3% extra discount on total gross sales
value (before tax). No extra discount will be allowed to customer if he achieve less than 100%.
I have configured rebate agrrement and created one agreement (type 0003 - customer rebate) and created
    condition record (BO03) on scale basis. from 10000 INR - 1% from 20000 - 2% and 30000 - 3%) and accrual
    rate 3%.
after posting of invoice accrual is generated 3%  on gross value  (before tax) of 10000 INR. and during
settlement (VBO2) I can change the amount for Credit memo amount.
But as per requirement customer will be only allowed for 3% discount if he achieves 30000 inr(i.e. gross
    sale value must be 30000).
Plz give some input how to achieve this.
    regards,
    sp shukla

    Dear Mr Raghu,
The scenario is like this, company is declaring schemes for monthly, quarterly, half yearly and yealy basis for all its branches.
for some branches some exclusive of customer and  and in some places branch specific  (branch = sales office).
Schemes are applicable in both sales quantity and in sales value (before tax).
Since its control is centrally, So as per management at branch level sales people can see the target scheme and besides rebate value (before tax) and accrued amount as per slab (100% - 1%, 110% 2% like this) achieved by the customer.
If customer sales value achieves as per slab, extra discount will be pay as per slab only and if not no discount will be payable.
Plz gives some input how it will mapped in SAP rebate agreement .
    regards,
    sp shukla

  • BAPI for Rebate agreement creation in MM

    Hi,
I have been unable to find any BAPI which could be used to create a Rebate Agreement (Subsequent settlement for vendor) in MM. ANy SDn thread or any search result yields the name of BAPI_AGREEMENTS, which unfortunately has capabilities of creating a rebate agrrement in SD side (for customer). The Key table in this BAPi is BAPIAGRMNT which has input fields like Sales Org, Distribution channel, division, Rebate recipient - all relevant to SD.
The only closest I come to MM side is the name of a FUNCTIONL MODULE MM_ARRANG_NEW_ARRANG_INSERT and not a BAPI. Using this function module to create MM Rebate agreement would entail a lot of effort!
Any pointers/clues would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks & Warm regards
    Gaurav

    Hi,
Use BADI to create rebate agreement in MM.You can explore following BAdI.
These BAdI are applicable for MM & SD applications:
    (a) SD_BONUS_CREDIT_NOTE BAdI for Rebate Credit Memo Requirements
    (b) SD_COND_DETAIL Enhancement in Condition Detail Screen

  • Rebate:differences between sales vol  and inde. sales vol

i have a specificly question about rebate agrrements...
    1) What is the difference between a rebate independent of sales volumen vs dependent of sales volume?, please could you give an example of both..
    there are my configuration cases:
    agreement A:
    amount: 10000 KG
for each 1 KG  accrual 10 usd

(*) in my case my sales volume is in quantity of kilograms (KG)
    2) there are a standar report to see the percentage of fullfilment of the agreement?  for example..

    Hi Daniel,
What is the difference between a rebate independent of sales volumen vs dependent of sales volume?, please could you give an example of both..
In FMCG Business at least, nearly all rebate agreements are volume dependent. You pay back a percentage of the sales volume depending on the billed quantity. Example: 3 Euros / Box. Of course you can use scales to motivate the customer to buy more. Example 3,5 Euros / Box if consumption is over 5000 Box. Because the new target while impact the scale of all the rebate agreement, the customer is highly motivated to reach specific targets. That's the idea.
Volume independent rebate is when you want to pay a Lump sum at once. Example: 20000 Euros.
Of course you might directly (manually) create a credit memo to a customer instead of creating a volume independent agreement.
In some cases you might want to create a rebate agreement for follow up of the money already credited and to have the flexibility to change the amount for additional credit memo generation.
    2) there are a standar report to see the percentage of fullfilment of the agreement?
All the reporting is available through the standard rebate transaction.
If you consider scales, then you might think of "fulfillment", but this is not to be confused with general quantity based sales contracts!
    Hope it helps.

  • Scale in pricing and free goods.

    Hi All,
Can anyone plz tell me ,What is the role and how to use the scale in pricing and free goods determination.
    Regards,
    Ashima

    hi,
    . Create a condition by copying a a standard condition like BO03 in V/06
    2. Assign this condition in the std pricing procedure with acct key as ERB and accural key as ERU - V/08
3.Create a  Rebate Agreement in VBO1 (It is O = Owl and not zero). No will be generated
choose 003 - Customer rebates, enter the customer code, the validity and check for the status shld be in Open, click on the conditions enter the percentage and accrual amount. You also can have scales in this. Also you need to maintain the material for the settlement
    4. Create a sales order for that customer and check the rebate agreement.
    5. You can see the rebate condition in the invoice only.
    6. Once you have posted the invoices, then go to rebate agrrement no. clicl on verfication and it will show the order details.
    7. For settlement change the status of the rebate to B - release for the settlement.
    8. Credit memo request will b generated copy the no. and go to VA02, remove the blocks if any and create an invoice (credit memo).this will show u the accrual amount.
    9. In both the invoice and the credit memo check the posting - accounting document it will show u the accrual as negative.
    10. Again go to rebate aggreement and check the status it will show you D - Final settlement of agreement already carried out

  • Not able to pay manual accrual as part payment

    Dear Gurus
I have a Rebate agrrement with manual payment procedure-B-Payment allowed up to the value of the pro forma sett. In sales volume I can see a value of Rs.80K from different billing docuement. I also posted a manual accrual of Rs.50 over and above this.
When I wish to pay the complete amount  Rs.80050/-under patial settlment, I cannot pay more than Rs.80K which is max limit.
My question is why system does not allow to pay  manual accrual as partial payment. If It is not possible, then  what is use of manual accrual. Ultimately it has to be used to pay to customer.
    Regards,
    Neeraj Srivastava

    Hi Neeraj,
I think there is a misunderstanding of the functionality or the usage of manual accruals. Manual accrauls are more relevant in the old rebate procedure when it is not possible to retroactively update billing documents that were created before, but within an agreement's validity. They can of course still be used in the new rebate procedure but they do not have any bearing on the final settlement amount that is to be paid to the rebate customer. That is dependant solely on the sales volume.
If you expect the max amount to be paied in partial settlement is the accural value, please adjust the setting of "Payment procedure" to A in VB(2 for the agreement type.
Payment procedure B means the payment up to the final settlement amount, which is the acutal rebate condition value calculated based on the sales volume.
Please also notice that in the final settlement of the rebate agreement, system will do a recalculation based on the cumulated condition base value of the rebate condition and deduct the amount which has been paid to customer.
For example, rebate value cumulated from the normal billing documents:
100- USD, manual accruals: 50- USD, you have carried out the partial settlement by Payment procedure A which is 150- USD. Then you carry out the final settlement, the final amount to be paid would be 100- - 150- = 50 USD.
So bear in mind that manual accruals are a temporary document, to allow FI to reflect a current situation, they have no bearing on the actual sales volume or terms of the rebate agreement.
If this is a valid business process for your company you can use note 215438 to create a zero value final settlement to support the process. This means you could manual change with the amount in final settlement to 0 to complete your process.
    I hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Alex

  • Report on rebate agreements

    Hi,
Iam developing a report on rebate agreements. I want to display all the credit memos and all the invoices under one rebate agreement.
I can see all the credit memos in agreement in following way.
Go to vbo3Give one agrrement number and go to menu rebate payments-rebate documents.
I can see all the invoices under rebate agreement in following way.
Go to vbo3Give agreement number andd go to menu rebate payments-drill down.
Now my question is how can I know which invoice belongs to which credit memo.
Basically I want to know the linkage between credit memo and invoices under credit memo.
Hope I explained the question clearly. If not please let me know I can explain it in better way.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Free goods in lieu of Rebate Credit Note

    Hi Gurus,
Can we have the option of Free Goods Settlement instead of Rebate Credit Note at the time of Rebate Settlement.
    Your reply is highly appreciated.
    Sadanandam Kasarla

    Hi Sadanandam kasarla
Generally if you want to  issue free goods then you need to create a sales order and you have to deliver the stock from the storage location also. The inventory level will come down
But if you are doing the rebate settlement. then you will be using a Dummy material to create the sales order and then  you will be doing billing . Finally only the rebate value will be settled to the customer .

  • Settling Rebate through free goods in R/3

Client is producing halogen and CFL lights for home and office use. Client is making sales through dealers and distributors in market.
Sales regions are: North, South, East, and West.
Sales Sub regions: Delhi, UP, Maharashtra, Karnataka, West Bengal and so on.
    Promotional Schemes:
    1)     Monthly:
    a.      Quantity targets are given for month on achieving free goods are given
    b.     No Credit Memo
    c.     For example, on sale of 1000 pcs of 20W CFL in one month, 50 pcs of 15W CFL free.
    d.     Mostly product based schemes as  to promote particular line item
    e.     Different schemes for distributor and dealers (divided on basis of customer group)
    2)     Quarterly:
    a.     Similar to Monthly with difference in time frame which is of quarter
    3)     Secondary (On basis of points)
    a.     For each qualifying product, points are awarded. On accumulation of points free gifts or goods are provided for different level of points
    4)     Annual:
    a.     Annual discount on basis sales amount irrespective of which products sold.
    Key Points:
    1)     All calculations are done on excel sheet using sales report from SAP i.e. to find the qualifying customer.
    2)     Later scheme is settled by creating free of charge sales order in SAP of zero prices.
    3)     Same product can be part of two schemes one on distributor level and other on regional or national level.
    4)     No credit memo is issued to settle schemes.
Question: Can we map this process through rebates or any way sales such that the schemes can be created and list of qualifying customer is calculated in system itself? Later, it can be settled through free goods rather then credit memo?

Already solved. Item Catgory settings and Downloading R/3 customizing to CRM

  • Rebate with also free goods and depending on a volume

Hi my company wants to use the rebates but some customers prefer goods instead of cash and my company wants to decide at the begining of the year the limit from which the customers are subject to rappel
    1)     What happens if some of my customers instead of money prefer goods?
May I modify the item category and introducing a new item relevant for delivery?
What about a free delivery but with a follow on document of invoice. I think that I would need the invoice to clear the account.
    2)     We want that the customer enjoys of the rebate if the bought quantity (volume of purchases) surpasses a limit-value. But in any other case we have to clear the account. Is it possible to fix a limit in the rebate arrangement.

    Hi,
I am by no means an expert on rebates, but to me it sounds like you really need to create your own custom process....
    (1) The standard rebate agreements in SAP settle the rebates through credit memos.  This assignment is made in VOFA.  Honestly I don't know that even a custom rebate agreement type would allow you to create a sales order or delivery with reference to the rebate agreement...  You can try creating a custom rebate type in VOFA and linking it to a sales order instead of a billing doc...  I doubt it will work though.
    (2) See if you can hijack the 'condition update' functionality (statistics table S071) to track the cumulative values for certain materials.  Then you can try writing a pricing requirement for the condition type, marking the condition as inactive is a certain value has not been passed.
Please let us know if you can get any of this to work.
    Thanks,
    Ben
