Recosting material after cost release - Follow-up re MBEW/HKMAT field

When we set standards this year, I did not know that this field should have had its value set before costing, and it is now not showing the material number in variance calculations for the ten or so items that did not have the flag set.
My question is on fixing the issue.  I know I have to re-cost to fix it so the mnaterial shows on variance calculations.
Do I have to do another costing run up through the release stage, or can I do a cost run and take it only through the "marking" phase?

Hi Michael,
when you speak of variance calculation I suppose you do that for production orders and want to see variances between target and actuals. In that case I fear setting the KKMAT field now will not help you for orders that were already created and have their actual costs posted. The target cost including the material origin might be recalculated, but the material origin of posted actual costs will stay empty, even if you set the flag now.
For production order variance analyis the flag will help you only for future orders. Whether you have to release the cost estimate depends on which version of variances you use. If you use the actuals against plan it uses the released standard costing, so you would have to release the new costing.

  • Future price not deleted after cost run

    Hi all,
If a material master has the future price maintained on the Accounting 1 view, then it is picked up in the next cost estimate that is created.
Costing strategy is Future price, Price from PIR, Standard cost.
However, I have been told that once the Cost estimate has been created, the future price is deleted from the material master. In this way the cost accountant can delay the release of a new standard price to avoid large re-valuations.
The future price is not being deleted following our cost run, can anyone advise on this?
    Thanks
    Phil.

Future prices will not delete when a cost estimate is released.  If the Future Price is ACTIVATED (no cost estimate involved) then the Future price field will clear because it is "rolled forward"  in the same manner that a Marked cost estimate is rolled forward to the Released Cost Estimate, leaving the field Future Planned Price on Costing 2 blank.
Be very careful with CKME - it will activate future prices and release future planned cost estimates, but it does not stop and show you what is about to be activated or released and the financial impact.   We wrote a custom transaction that had CKME report what it is going to do, so we have a chance to review the infomation.

  • Subcontracting after order release

we have two plant P001 and P002, P001 send finished goods A to plant P002,in plant P002, A is not valuated。 in plant P002,finished product B is produced and using A and other raw materials。
we now create production order for material B in P002, we want subcontracting PO in P001 to be generated automatically after
we release production order in plant P001, how to do this?
in plant P002, do we need to create costing BOM for material B? in production order master data, we can see production BOM for material B, when is costing BOM being used in material B?thanks
by the way, we donu2018t use material ledger

    Dear Srini,
In my understanding this is not possible as this does not seems like a sub-contracting or stock transfer from alternative plant or

  • Tcode for Sales Cost Release

    Hi,
Kinldy tell me, we do cost release of material through CK40N in manufactured material. But our business scenario, we have sales order costing. During Sales order creation through VA02 and final saving the sales order, automatically sales costing and marking is done which flows to Sales pricing. But untill and unless if I not able to cost release of final finished item how my standard price will be updated ? Because our sale order costing, costing variant is PPC4 which is not being appeard in CK40N. Those materials which costing is done through CK11N only those material's cost relase is possible through CK40N.
In our our case how we will do cost release ?
    Best Regards,
    Samrat Roy

    Hi Christian,
We understand your comment. But as our scenario make to order process, one final finished item say VEHI-INTEA which is inhouse item ie, price control S, Under this S price material there is another S price material say NF01 which includes 35 BOM components. In NF01 we have put manually standard price. 35 BOM components MAP is updating from PO, GRN and planned price also available for costing. While we are doing sales order automatically costing and marking is done. We are doing sales order of final finihsed item VEHI-INTEA. Under VEHI-INTEA during cost calculation 5 components are picking due to as per BOM dependency written. Calculated cost is capturing under Pricing condition and sale price of the material is also there. If any of the components price chage and later if we want to say what is the final finished item price how we can check its standard price. Normally make to stock scenario while we do cost release of final finished item through CK40N or CK24 standard price is updated by calculating cost from its BOM components.
In our scenario if we need to update standard price how we can update standard price ? We are near to golive stage. During golive we will initailly update standard price manually. But what will happen stanard price update after golive ?. BOM componets price will change but final finished item pirce will not update.
In this Sales Order costing while automatice marking is done then it is not updated in material master costing 2 veiw where as normal cost release through CK40N in marking stage, price goes to future price under costing 2 tab and after release, price stamped to current price of Costing 2 view of material master and as well as standard price also updated under Accounting 1.

  • NO Production Declaration without costing release.

    Hi there,
I want to connect my costing release with production declaration. where users will not be able to declare the production without its costing release through Ck40n or ck11n & MF30
pl. help me to do it.

    Dear Nishant,
Is it in a Discrete scenario or else in a REM scenario?
If it's a Discrete scenario, then you can make use of this BADI - WORKORDER_UPDATE during Order release and check for
current Planned price(as this field gets updated after releasing the cost estimate) MBEW - LPLPR,if it's empty or zero
means, then do not allow for release.
In a REM scenario assign a REM profile which requires (post activities based on std.cost estimate of the material) a std cost
estimate, then in this case you cannot carryout a GR.

  • Increase in Inventory value of raw material after PO stage & MIRO

Is it possible to increase the inventory value of a raw material after PO is finalized and MIRO doc. has been raised.
I want to increase the inventory value by additional expenses after PO & MIRO are done.
    Regards,

    Hi,
It is possible through the concept of 'Subsequent Debits/ Credits'. A subsequent debit/credit exists when an additional invoice or credit memo is received for a transaction that has already been invoiced.
Before using the same, you should note the following:
    - The system records every subsequent debit/credit in the purchase order history.
    - By posting a subsequent debit/credit, the system updates the ordering transaction on a value basis but not on a quantity basis. The quantity invoiced therefore does not change, but the total value invoiced does.
    - The maximum quantity you can subsequently debit or credit is the quantity that has already been invoiced. It is not possible to post a subsequent debit before an invoice. The system does not check the quantity delivered. A subsequent debit/credit cannot be blocked due to quantity variance.

  • How to block changes in purchase order after purchase release

    Dear all
Can u please tell us how to block any changes in purchase order after purchase order is released...
(We don't want any line items addition or quantity addition or any changes once purchase order is released..)We wanted this for a particular purchase order type only
    Regards
    Sudha

    Dear Sudha
Yes it is possible to confiquire your system insuch a way where once if the PO  gets final relase then it cannot be changed.Only possiblity that will be available for the user to make chanegs in PO is possible when the final release is to be reset and then make the changes.
Release Indicator: specicfies whether the PO documents is blocked or can be processed for the follow functions.
You can define the release indicators you need for your release procedure:
•The Released indicator is used to specify whether messages (PO documents in output format) may be transmitted for a purchase order with this indicator.
•The Changeability indicator shows the effect of changes to the PO (a change to a PO may require a new release strategy to be determined, for instance).
•By means of the Value change indicator, you can specify that the release strategy is to be re-started if a PO is changed and the value of a PO item thereby increases by a certain percentage (e.g. 10%). Set the Changeability indicator to "4 - Changeable, new release in case of new strategy or value change" or "6 - Changeable, new release in case of new strategy or value change/outputted" and enter a percentage in the Value change field.
And after that you can specify release statuese where you can specify which release indicator/status a PO is to have after having been released via a certain release code.
    and after release simulation .
Test for the PO change after final release System will not allow you tomake changes by giving the message that the release  indicator doesnot allow you make the changes in PO.

PO created in cobalt was blocked in GTS due to legal control. output message of PO was blocked, after the PO was manually released by the user next day, AU open the PO and saved it. output message got processed.
Can you please let me know, why system is not processing the output automatically after the PO is released in GTS.
    Is this the standard process?

    Hi Kiran,
This is called follow on function in GTS.
When document is released, you could trigger background job regularly to process these document.
Open the area menu for SAP GRC Global Trade Services in your feeder system (with transaction code/SAPSLL/MENU_LEGALR3) and choose Recovery Follow-On Functions in Feeder System .
Choose one of the following entries to configure the follow-on functions for the selected application level: Materials Management Trigger Follow-On Functions for Purchasing Documents

  • Workflow not executing after PR release of PR through ME54N

    Hi,
I have a probolem. I have created a workflow for intimation after PR release through ME54N based on release strategy . i.e. an email will go to different persons after releasing of the PR at different levels . My problem when i am releasing through ME54N   the mail is not going to persons but if i execute the workflow directly giving the PR no in that case the mail is flowing . I have used the business object BUS2009 and i have selected the event 'Release Step Created".
Can any one help me out.
    thanks in

    Hi,
Try triggering the workflow event by coding (calling the FM to create an event - SWE_EVENT_CREATE) in an enhancement at the time of releasing the PR through ME54N.
Also check the following scenario for reference.
Check the organizational data, the release strategy customizing and the event and instance type linkages :
    1. First you must have created in the organizational plan the user names, positions, jobs, etc. that you assign to the release code(s), and must have linked them to the relevant standard tasks with the Task Customizing (transaction OOCU).
    2. When you create the release code(s) that you need for your release strategy and assign the code(s) to your release group, you should indicate that the release code(s) is (are) relevant to workflow (transaction OMGQ for purchase requisitions and transaction OMGS for purchase orders -> Release code).
The Workflow indicator is also used to control role resolution.
The Role Resolution with Group, Code and Plant (T16FW) [1] is the standard role resolution.
The Role Resolution via User Exit [9] allows you to define a role resolution via customer exit.
Then you should link the release procedure to workflow if you are not using customer exit and assign a processor ID to the workflow-relevant release code(s) (OMGQ or OMGS -> workflow).
    3. For the workflow WS00000038 (Workflow for requisition release) you should have maintained the following events with transaction SWE2 (Change View "Event Type Linkages": Overview) or transaction SWE3 (Change View "Instance Type Linkages": Overview) :
    RELEASESTEPCREATED with SWE2.
                        Object type     BUS2009

  • PR non editable fields after final release

we like to  do in PR  Material's short text, date, Pur Grp & Requested by heads are in editable stage after final release.
we need to make non editable mode.  how we can do this...
    please advice
    Thanks
    Rajesh G

    Dear Rajesh,
You may define as Field Selection Key for your PR release indicator via customizing:
    SPRO
    MM -PUR-PR-Release procedure-Procedure with classification
    - Set Up Procedure with Classification
    -Release indicator
-Now choose your final release indicator
    -Fill in FSK:
    Example:
    Field Selection Key      FZ01
Now add this FSK to your customizing via screen layout:
    SPRO:
    MM-PUR-PR
-> Define screen layout at doc level
-> Add your FSK to this customizing and customize
according to the field as you want.

  • Issue of material to Cost Centre

    Dear Experts,
I have a scenario where in I procure a 10 qtys of  gascylinder against My cost centre say COS101 of Mechanical Dept.
I Received a gascylinder of 10qtys now. But now i will consume only 2nos of gascylinder & rest i will keep 8 in mystore.
Again other dept called Safety Eng of Cost centre say COS202 will take 2 nos of gascylinder from stores & consumed. Now in system I would like to have track that how many i consumed actually & how many others have taken from my store.
Since this is not a stock item. As i procured agisnt my centre by wrting a short text.
Please help me how to handle this scenario.
    Regards
    TG

    Hi ,
Once you have receive the material against cost center at the time of 101 system treats the same as consumption and thus you dont have a track over your inventory as desired by you .
There are Few things to it :
    1. do you want to treat the same as a part of the inventory ? check the same with the inventory as once you start treating it as an inventory the stock lying in your stores would be treated as inventory in the balance sheet . so discuss the same with your FI counterpart if they agree to it .
    2. Secondly if other cost center are  consuming the material then in that case the cost should flow to that respective cost center for that you can repost the line items in CO with respect to cost center to cost center posting .
    3. In case if your FI counter part doesnt agree to treating it as inventory material then you will have to keep a manual record as i guess you wont be doing any movement type posting at the time it is consumed from stores ? or do you do any posting ?.
concentrate on the following points and do revert back in case you are still stuck up .
    Regards ,
    Dewang T.

  • Material Ledger : Cost component split different in CO PC and ML

    Hello SAP People,
In ML cost component split I don't have the same split that in CK13N COPC.
    History
We changed the cost component structure in OKTZ, because we wanted to split on two different cost component the cost of Copper :
    -     Copper
    -     Primes :Premium cost (transformation cost for producer) on copper.
In CK11N the split is OK and we can read the new cost element corresponding to premium cost.
To split the costing tool goes on the purchase info records to read condition type that are different for copper and premium.
The problem we have is that when we run Material ledger we are not able to see after a good receipt a similar split in the cost component view.
We already run MLCCS_RESET and MLCCS_Startup programs this month and created new Raw material after. But it seems the ML do not take care of this and all the actual cost (I stop to single level) are on the copper cost component and there is nothing on Premium cost component.
We just run single level on ML for current month.
Could you please help me to explain why we are not able to obtain the correct split between Copper and u201CPrimesu201D

    Hi Marco,
yes, these both are independent from each other. You will have no issue when these are different.
It is very typical that you want to report different kind of information for activities as for materials.
    A typical setup might be
    Activity                                   Material
    Asset depreciation                   Raw Material Cost
    Room cost                               Energy
    Labour                                     Production Cost
    labour overhead                      Production Overhead
    Electricity                                 Packaging
When you use the activity for the production of a material (confirmation CO15) the assignment goes normally to a single cost component in the material, above for example into production cost. This is controlled by the cost element. Only when the primary cost component split is activated and a transfer structure betweeen both is maintained you could achieve
Asset depeciation, Room Cost, Labour overhead  -> Production overhead
    Labour -> Production Cost
    Electricity -> Energy
    Best regards,  Udo
