Regarding Workbook Filters

Hello Experts ,
I have created Workbook  having 2 queries  ,  each query on different tab ( SFG , FG).
On First tab , I can see Chart , Filters and Information  button  however on  2nd tab I am unable to see those buttons .
I need those buttons on 2 nd  tab also  as user wants to use filters (to add free characteristics , restrict by values  etc ..)
I have attached screenshots for your reference .

If I have understood you correctly, you have opened a Query in Analyzer and saved it as Workbook by "Save Workbook". You have opened it and inserted a new worksheet and put "Insert Analysis Grid" and assigned a new DP to it.
Chart, Filter and Information Buttons comes up in Analyzer but cannot come in workbook design in new sheet because we don't have any privilege to add them through standard options in design mode.
An ideal workbook has to be created like below:--

  • Workbook filters removed after query chnage

    Hi,
    i have some filters set on workbook level. (say for example of comp_code 100). This filter is not in the query.
    The problem is, when i change the query(say add a new char in the row), i need to chekc the option "return to global definition on refresh" inorder to get the new char in the row in WB. This removes the filter i had on comp_code 100 in WB.
    Is there a way, to refersh the workbook with out removing the filter on comp_code?

    Hi,
    You open a query in BEx Analyzer
    ->You will find Chart,Filter and Information buttons
    ->Just Click "Filter" button
    ->This will show you the Filter item
    ->Select the Filter Values through this Filter item for any Characteristic and save the Workbook.
    Now add a Key Figure in the Query through QD.Now Open the same workbook in Analyzer,observe that the filter values are still shown in the Filter item since you didn't refresh yet.Now right click and Refresh.Now Observer that the "KeyFigure" is filtered to the value which was already there in the workbook and newly added Keyfigure won't be visible in the Analysis gird.Filter for a Characteristic still shown.
    Remove the filter for KeyFigure.Now the Analysis item will show the newly added keyfigure along with the filters of Characteristic in the Filter item which means that the newly added Keyfigure is available in the report and the Filter values still preserved.

          I am creating a qurey in the BEx Analyzer in BI 7.0 which consists of some dropdown boxes for materials and sales organisation.
          My requirement is this:
                 If I select the particular material (Ex: M100), only the sales organisations which are availble for the material should have to be displayed.
         Pls give me ur valuable suggestions regarding this problem.

    Restirct the Material with the particular Material number (Ex: M100).
    or
    Restrict the Material with a Variable.
    Create a Char variable on Material : Give value  (Ex: M100), only the sales organisations which are availble for the material would be displayed.

    I have to filter the message type COAMAS (Activity Type) based on company code field BUKRS. But the problem is that the field BUKRS is not there in any of the segments.

    Goto transaction BD95 and have a look for the ALE object type BUKRS, if it is not in, create one. Choose table t001 in that case.
    Then goto BD59, select your message type and enter a relationship between your message type and the newly created object type.
    After you've done that, you can filter your messages in BD64.
    And.... this has nothing to do with ABAP. Please select the appropriate forum for interface problems. This forum is for ABAP problems.

  • Filtering by attributes in Smart view on Cloud

    Dear all,
    We are working on the Planning and Budgeting Cloud Services and we have a question regarding the filtering by attributes in smart view.
    We tried to create a report filtering by attribute but this option is not available in the Smart view Member selection.
    However, filtering by attribute is available from a form.
    Could yo please help us with this issue?

    hi Marta,
    The use of attributes in PBCS is not available in Smart View nor Financial Reporting Studio.  I am also trying to figure out a workaround as this is critical for reporting purposes.  The two links below explain the issue.

  • Active X filtering in Internet Explorer 10

    Hi everyone
    Using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, IE10 and Flash 11.9.900.117.
    I've been having problems with Flash Player for a while. Although it was installing OK, it wasn't working and the Adobe help pages indicated it was not installed or not enabled though it was. I tried all the advice on the Adobe site, reinstalling it numerous times, clearing caches and verifying IE security settings, but nothing worked. Eventually I tried disabling Active X filtering, even though that support article states it relates only to IE9, and that sorted it. Has anyone else encountered this issue, and does the support page about ActiveX and IE9 need to be updated to also include IE10?

    ActiveX filtering applies to ALL versions of IE from 9 up, which now includes 10 and 11. Numerous people have encountered issues with ActiveX filtering.  It's a nearly twenty-year-old technology (developed for Windows 95) that the entire browser world has long ago abandoned, except for Microsoft. ActiveX is a Windows dependent component that applications like Office, Visual Studio and Windows Media Player use to enable hyperlinking and downloads of web content. Basically, IE 9, 10 and 11 are using the same code that IE 2 had in 1996. That's why you're constanly asked if you want to save or run things you download instead of just downloading them. It's one of the primary reasons I refuse to use IE.

    the sequence can be determined in the query level.
    but if multiple query user in workbook or web template, there is a logic defined in a note 1060735.
    regarding workbook Note 1416277 is describing a error correction.

  • Display input variables in BEx workbook header

    Hi forum,
    I created a global BEx workbook template and would like to display the input variables (user entries) in the header section. On refresh of the workbook, this section should be updated with the new input variables. I am on BEx 7.0 and already experimented with text elements in the Design Mode of BEx Analyzer. However, you can only select general filter values, not specifically variables.
    On release BI 3.x  the Visual Basic function SAPBEXshowTextElements(selectgroup, ...) was available. You could set selectgroup to "V" (show variables only) and retrieve the variable values.
    However on 7.0 this function does not seem to work any longer.
    Do you know how this can be achieved in BEx Analyzer 7.0?

    Hi,
    1) Keep variable in default values in Filters.if u keep variable in default values user enterd value will be displayed in workbook filters.
    2) Open workbook and go to design mode.
    3) Delete the header text item and also delete the header picture bar.
    4) Write report name in "A1".
    5) At the end of report name (say H1or I1) use this excel formula =Replace(old text,start_num, num_chrs, new_tex).
    With this whenever user changes the variable value will be changed in report header.

  • Configuring Browsing Indexes for Service Search Descriptor Filters

    I am running DSEE 6.1 on Solaris 10.
    I restrict access to the ldap clients (solaris8, 9, and 10) for various users in the Directory by configuring the service search descriptors to use a filter based on specific roles. Each servers profile mentions a role depending on type of server and then users are assigned roles which are nested within specific server type roles:
    NS_LDAP_SERVICE_SEARCH_DESC= passwd:ou=People,dc=example,dc=com?one?nsrole=cn=serverRole,ou=profile,dc=example,dc=com
    NS_LDAP_SERVICE_SEARCH_DESC= group:ou=group,dc=example,dc=com?one
    NS_LDAP_SERVICE_SEARCH_DESC= audit_user:ou=People,dc=example,dc=com?one?nsrole=cn=serverRole,ou=profile,dc=example,dc=com
    NS_LDAP_SERVICE_SEARCH_DESC= shadow:ou=People,dc=example,dc=com?one?nsrole=cn=serverRole,ou=profile,dc=example,dc=com
    NS_LDAP_SERVICE_SEARCH_DESC= user_attr:ou=People,dc=example,dc=com?one?nsrole=cn=serverRole,ou=profile,dc=example,dc=com
    I have noticed in my error logs on the Directory servers messages regarding these filters not being indexed:
    WARNING<20805> - Backend Database - conn=949139 op=1 msgId=2 - search is not indexed base='ou=people,dc=example,dc=com' filter='(nsRole=cn=serverRole,ou=profile,dc=example,dc=com)' scope='one'
    I have also had a few instances where the naming services seems to have stopped altogether. This seems to be timed with when my clients do a refresh of the ldap cache - which is the time that I seed the not indexed messages in the error log.
    I guess that I need to set up Browsing Indexes for these filters
    Can anyone give examples how to do this?
    I guess I will need a vlvBase of ou=people,dc=example,dc=com
    vlvScope of 1
    vlvFilter of nsRole=cn=serverRole,ou=profile,dc=example,dc=com
    I am not sure what I would do for vlvsort attributes though??

    The access logs shows that the attributes to be sorted are uid and cn:

    So the vlvsort attributes should be cn and uid.

  • Filters greyed out in large PSB file

    Can anyone point me in the direction of answer to this question....
    I'm running CS3 on an Intel Mac 2x2.66 GHz Dual Core Intel Xeon 5GB ram
    And I've got a 310cm x 61cm 2.2 gig file. (it's for a stage backdrop)
    I'm in a PSB file RGB, 8 bit and i can't get to any filter effects.
    Any ideas?

    Many filters have limits on the size of image they can process.
    But other filters will work with any size image.
    And telling us the physical dimensions of the document don't tell us anything about the pixel size or memory footprint. (file size and document size are very different things)

  • Just bought the SX50 HS Digital camera....need Filters UV,Skylight,etc.

    Just bought the SX50 HS Digital camera....Canon tells me i need to buy the FA-DC67A Adapter required to use 67mm filters. The cANON website shows only three filters...
    1) FA-DC67A ADAPTER           $25.00
    2) 67mm PL-CB polarizer      $390.00
    3) 67mm UV PROTECTOR  $ $85.00
    I also have a Canon AE1 PROGRAM with 52mm.  Anyway to use these old filters with this new camera?
    So basically, I can not attach any filters to my existing SX50 lens, without buying the adapter FA-DC67A?
    I've seen combo filters like a polarizing, UV, and Skylight filter, do they make this, or would i have to buy separate UV, A skylight, or a polarizing filter?
    Thanks for any ideas, or where I could buy these filters cheaper than Canon

    With the Filter Adapter FA-DC67A, you may attach 67mm filters of all types.
    In order to use the smaller 52mm filter, you'd need to locate an adapter.

  • Workbook broadcast with filter

    Hi all,
    when broadcasting workbooks users loose all filters set in the workbook.
    E.g. a workbook where you have filtered on one sales organisation will broadcast with all sales organisations. When you open the workbook in BEx Analyzer and refresh it the filter will remain.
    Please note that I don't mean variable values.
    In 3.5 this was possible, in 7.0 it is not working anymore.
    This is not a very good solution for our users.
    Any idea?

    The broadcaster uses precalculation server. Before the broadcasting, the query is re-calculated.
    If the filter was made during query navigation - it will not remain effective for the broadcaster.
    In order to filter an InfoObject in a query, you will have to use a "ready for input" variable.
    In the broadcaster (web screen), at the query setting, under Pre-calculation tab - enter the relevant values of the Variable. This will send the workbook filtered according to you needs.

    I am trying to filter a displayed list at run time ( while running the application). the list fetches the data from an existing object.
    I am trying to customize few things while displaying the filters on the list.
    So far, I could only find a single property under Agentry application configuration to deal with filtering list values, as per the screenshot below.
    Moreover, I could see that I can allow filtering the list based on a set of particular fields.
    Here, I cannot determine if the Agentry Editor will allow me to customize the look and feel of the filters being displayed.
    Is there any other way I can filter the lists and which provides me with the flexibility to customize the look and feel of the filters being displayed?
    For example, i could add an image in the list and might want to filter the list based on a particular image. will this be possible and supported by SAP Work Manager 5.3 (Agentry 6.0) ?

         I tried this filter and sort list tile in ATE. Please refer my example regarding the filtering and sorting:
    Step1: No Filter.
    Here there is no filter, so ATE is not hvaing any filtering.
    Step2: Add filtering property to the List Tile.
    Filtering properties:
    Test in ATE.
    Click on that filter symbol, we will get the following.
    Step3: Add Sorting to the List Tile.
    Sort Properties are: Add the CompanyName as sort property
    Check in ATE.
    Apply sort by clicking the symbol
    List rows are sorted based on company name as below:
    I to checked in iphone but the sort property is not coming. I will check the gaps and update.

    I have one great problem with IE browser.
    My name is Dario and I work for one italian's society that occupated to training for employees.
    Now I have created any scorm objects with several parts of video of 14 minutes each one.
    When I use Chrome or Firefox I have no problem and all work fine. But with IE (many versions for example 8,10,11) there is one issue.
    When the user has finished to watch all videos, close the window and one window's error appairs with this wording.

    Re:  filtering with merged cells
    I suspect you just added some merged cells that span more then one row.
    The best solution is use a backup copy of your workbook from a previous day and to stop merging cells.
    Centering text across columns creates an appearance similar to merged cells and doesn't cause problems.
    If you don't have a workbook backup copy and can confirm that the problem is caused by merging multiple rows, I have a possible vba code solution for you.
