Regenarative planning in MRP

Hi guys,
When we r going live & for the first time MRP is going to be run in the production server <b>do i need to maintain the processing key as NEUPL?</b> ,
for my scenario i will be using NETPL
How to make processing key as NETPL, Create purchase requisitions as 1,Scheduling as 2-as  default settings

Dear,
Processing key will group togather the materials to be planned.
As sson as any change happens in the material in terms of staock/requirement/issue then a entry will be filled in a planning file entry
NEUPL is used for the first time where we want to plan for all the materails irrespective of wthether there is a entry in planning file or not...usually we will run it during go live.
NETCH -all the materials which are which have entry in the planning file and are in total horizan to be considered.
NETPL- materials having planning file entry and are with in planning horizon...which is mentioned in the customizing for a plant.
your second question - Defaut for the values can be defined in defferent ways
You can goto MD02/MD01/MD03 and enter all these valuesa and follow the menu path
settings -->save...it will be permanent for your ID.
please also go tyhroug the sap std help for futhur information
In the initial screen for the planning run, you can use the creation indicator to determine whether purchase requisitions are always to be created or whether they are only created in the opening period, or whether delivery schedules are to be created, and so on.
In this step, you can define special creation indicators for the MRP groups:
creation indicator for purchase requisition
creation indicator for MRP lists
creation indicator for delivery schedules
The values specified here are taken into account in the planning run
The following is valid for total planning:
The creation indicators that you manually entered at the beginning of the planning run only has default status. They are only valid, if the SAP system does not find any creation indicators via the MRP group.
The following is valid for single-item planning:
Here, only the settings in the initial screen are valid. The settings made in Customnizing have no effect.

  • Dependent requirements for Top level materials planned in MRP

    Hey Gurus,
A top level material 20350 has a component 30397 and both of these materials are planned in APO.  We have another top level material 30399 (but this material is planned in MRP) and the component 30397 (is planned in APO) will the dependent requirements from material 30399 be populated in APO for material 30397?
    Sincerely,
    Kris

    Kris
As Datta has mentioned the dependent demand will not reflect for the component material in APO. We had the same scenario as yours and this is what we did
We modified the Planned order integration model filter criteria by adding custom logic in the BAdI CIF_INT_MODEL. The logic was to query the BOM tables in R/3 and find out all parents that have SNP relevant materials as components and include these parents in the list of materials for which planned orders are to be CIF'ed from R/3 . The BAdI will be invoked when you run the IM generation .
You also have to CIF the BOM to APO . Once the PDS and planned orders are available in APO , the dependent demand will be created automatically. ( If you do not want to modify the BAdI then you can write a query and identify the parents and add them to the integration model manually)
    Thanks

  • Planning all MRP relevant material together

    Dear All,
I am bit confused because i want to plan all MRP relevant material in a plant together and i am not able to do that. Can someone please tell how to configure that and plan all material together. I have AFS add-on with standard SAP 6.04.
    Thanking you in advance.

    Hi,
If you running MRP with Parallel processing, you should define Parallel Processing in trx OMIQ. ie. No of sessions should be defined.
Otherwise you should uncheck the field Parallel processing in MD01.

  • Sales Plan At MRP area level

    Dear All,
is it possible to maintain sales plan on MRP level? if yes How.
or if I will enter sales plan on Plant level can i tranfer to demand management on MRP area level if yes how?
    Regards,
    Ahmed sobhi

    Hi,
    Please elaborate  your query.
You must have gone to SE37 transaction to check this function module and you must have checked the import parameters on the the import tab.
When we call this fiunction module in Z program, we need to ensure that data is supplied  so that import parameters are taken  and data is updated in MDMA table.

  • Order reservation should not get planned in mrp run

    Hello friends,
Actually for a finished material i have created one production order by CO01.Because of it for semi finished material system created order reservation.I dont have any stock of semi finished material. Now i want while running the mrp run system should not planned this Order reservation of semifinished material. For these in configuration of availability check (Scope of check T.C  OPJJ), I  made the settings that system should not consider reservation (i deactivated the tick for include reservation) and for include depend reservation , i selected Donot check. And all these settings i made in checking group 02 and checking rule PP.After doing all these settings than also system is considering the order reservation for semifinished material and generating the planned order for it.
Do i need to do any other configurations?
    Thanking you guys in advance.

    Hi Jitendra,
Checking Control (OPJJ) has no relation with MRP.It is useful in the case of Plan and Production / Process Order only to find out Missing part.
    Now come to MRP again.
You have a choice of only 3 type of stocks to include or exclude them during MRP run while rest of the things like (PO,PR,Reservation etc are consider by default)
Go to OPPQ and after selecting Plant go to Available Stock. You will find that options,
    - Stock in Transfer
    - Block Stock
    - Restricted Stock.
And one more thing Reservation is not a available stock but its one kind requirement and if there is no stock then system will activate the Planning file entry and during next MRP run it will generate Planning proposal also.

  • Mass update for production and planned order MRP controller

    Hi Gurus,
It's anyway possible to mass update MRP controller for Production orders and  Planned orders. If any please provide me step by step process.
    Thanks,
    B.Deethya.

I feel You have changed the MRP controller in Material master and want to incorporate same in production order & plan order.
For Planned order Run MRP with delete and recreate mode, system will create a new plan order with MRP controller in Material master
For production order, Mass change is not possible, create a simple BDC or LSMW, And change the MRP controller

  • Testing MRP scope of planning and MRP lists

    Hi,
I am configuring the scope of planning and want to know how can I test if the planning is happening in the sequence as specified in the scope of planning. I would have around 20 plants in the scope. I thought of going after the time stamp on the receipts created by the system. Is there any table like MDKP which can show me the sequence of planning ?
Also what is the use oif the tcode MD08.... delete MRP lists ? what is the use of deleting these lists besides keeping the system clean
    Thanks

    Hi
Reorganization of the MRP Lists - MD08
A report is available for reorganizing the MRP lists which you can find in the menu for MRP under the menu option, Environment. If you enter the selection criteria, plant, material, and MRP date, the system deletes all the MRP lists from the database that are no longer required. This report can also be started in a test session and you can instruct the system to print out a list of all the deleted MRP lists.
    Further
Deleting MRP Lists - Manually in MD05
If the MRP list is no longer required, you can delete it manually. In order to do this, choose MRP list ® Delete document. The MRP list will be deleted. If you do not delete the MRP list manually, it is stored in the system until a new MRP list is created by a further planning run.

  • Sales planning through MRP

    hi,
Our client  has a requirement for MRP.
From sales side they want to enter sales tentative plan which will be integrated to MRP.
Please guide me how and where to enter the sales plan/sales budget.
    Thanks in advance..

    Hi
It is not exactly clear for me what do you mean by sales tentative plan.
You may consider using Sales and Operations Planning (SOP) and then transfer data to demand management.
Take a look on the following document for more details:
    Standard SOP Process flow...
In some cases, it is not necessary to use SOP and you can input your sales plan directly on demand management.

  • MM02 changing planning strategy, MRP, and customer schedule aggrement

    hello,
    everybody.
Someone has told me that if I change in MM02, the strategy group for a material, I have to create another schedule agreemennt and delete ( invalidate ) the current. If not, MRP won't take care of the current schedule agreement and the customer demands.
Is there a way to modify the schedule agreement instead of re-create it.
    Thanks a lot.
    Romeo

if the req type is decided by stg group(check in procurement tab) and in case if it is not changing...then you can continue using the same or else you may have to create a new one.

  • MD51  Project Planning - double MRP elements getting generated

    Hi All,
During planning run for a individual project planning thro MD51,
against a Order reservation for a particular material a PR is getting generated. When we convert the PR to PO and do the planning run , again a new PR is generated and therfore lead to overplanning of a material.
Suppose for the PO which is been created I do a GR for a partial quantity then after second planning run , PR is created only for the remaining qty.
This means the system doesn't considers the PO which is created and generates another PR for the same requirement which is not required.
Kindly help me on this. Its critical

    K Rao,
I can see 2 projects for every material planned.
see your last screen shot ,
    18-01-0027:02-01  with material I1400542007210
18-01-0027:02-01  without a material, whats the second project?
If you can correct planning for the second project which is without a header material , your issue can be resolved.
    Thanks

  • MRP planning run

    Hi experts,
During MRP run for  a material ,  open PO quantity is not considered   If  delivery date mentioned in that open PO exceeds 110 days from planning date(MRP run date). If it is less , it considers open PO quantity.
What could be the reason for it? Pls help me out.
    Thanks in advance,
    Rgds,
    jay

The Planning Horizon entry for your plant must be 110 or more. Check it out in OMI8. Click on the 'Maintain' button after entering ur plant, click on 'Planning Horizon' to see the entry.
For open PO qty to be considered, try running MRP run with processing key as 'NETCH' in MD02 or whichever t-code u use this doesn't take planning horizon into account.

  • Problem when creating planned order with MRP run

    Hello,
I create a material with a fix reorder point, MRP type VB. When I run MRP with MD03 on this material I have several problems :
    - planned order is created with an opening date in the past, so I have error 'Opening date in the past' in MD04. How can I generate a planned order with opening date not in the past
    - when changing manually opening date, after running again MD03, I have error 'No BOM selected'. Material is configurable, has a text BOM, a routing and a configuration profile. What is the problem? When modifying planned order, I have message :
    Material requires configuration
    Message no. 61259
    Diagnosis
Orders and requirements for a configurable material must have characteristic values.
Usually, you should create a variation for configurable materials managed in inventory management which has the default variant configuration.
    System Response
MRP: Requirements without characteristic values for a material cannot be planned in MRP.
    Procedure
    Check requirements or orders.
Create a configuration evaluation for the material in the material master record if necessary.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
I am facing the problem. Could you please tell me if you have resolved the above problem? If yes, Could you please provide me as how you resolved? Thanks in advance.
    Thanks

  • Usage of MRP Procedures in Consumption Based Planning during Implementation

We have following procedures in CBP:
    1. Reorder Point Planning- Manual and Automatic
    2. Forecast based Planning
    3. Time phased Planning.
In SAP implementations, which of these procedure is mostly used in companies in real time.
Though the CBP planning node is in MM SPRO and  MM study material also contains CBP. During implementations, for CBP the responsibility rests with MM consultant or PP Consultant or both.
Please share your views on this.

    Dear ,
Let me share my views on this as we are runing CBP-Forcast base planning  in our trading business .
Decision on CBP-Forecast base planning method are based on the following criteria
    1.Stockable and low value material
2.Fast Moving with good sales pattern ( Trend Analysis , Historical Trend analysis on Product Group , Statistical Sales analysis )
3.Inventory turn around based on the monthly physical inventory and sales
4.Good service level percentage over an period .
    5.Consumption pattern .
Decision on CBP-Re-order point planning method are based on the following criteria
    1. Material which are higher valu and Non Stockable
    2. Customer oriented traded goods
    3. Strategic vendor with good Sales pattern .
4.Re-order Level based on Sales Forecast (Manual or Automatic )
In SAP implementations, which of these procedure is mostly used in companies in real time : It is based on the business requirement (Trading /Manufacturing ) .Mostly Trading business goes for CBP-Forecast Base planning method (MRP Type -VV) IF THE MATERIALS HAS GOOD CONSUMPTION PATTERN OVER A PERIOD OF TIME .
MRP is both the part of Supply Chain Planning and Manufactruing . Material master parameters are maintained by MM .CBP is one kind of MRP where Demand Management comes into PP whereas after MRP run , procurement proposal handeled by MM.So there is no hard and fast rule that it is only part of PP.It is the combination of MM and PP.
Hope this will help you to analysise your requirement .

  • Creating Planned Independent Requirements for an MRP Area.

    Hi All,
    I am trying to enter Planned Independent Requirements for an MRP Area, with requirement type VSE and I get the following error;
"Only stock requirements are allowed when planning at MRP area level".
I can enter at the Plant level with no problems.
    Any guidance is greatly appreciated.
    Kevin.

The following is the excerpt from SAP [Help|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_470/helpdata/en/81/470a58ddab11d1b55b0000e82de178/frameset.htm] I think you maintained a planning strategy in the MRP view (for the plant) which doesn't support VSE.
You can delete PIRs from an MRP area by deleting the MRP area number from the Creating Planned Independent Requirements screen and recompiling.
When you define the planning strategies and parameters in the material master, these parameters apply to the whole plant, including all the MRP areas within the plant: You cannot maintain the MRP areas separately.
The integration of the MRP area and the assignment of the MRP area in the sales order is supported only by a user exit in the sales and distribution user exit pool.
Sales orders with MRP areas are created irrespective of the availability check control group in the material master.
Customer order processing of production sales orders with the item category (account assignment Step E Single) is only maintained in the MRP area of the plant.
In Customizing and in the MRP area user exit, make sure that when transferring individual sales orders, only requirements types KE, KEK, KEKS, KET, KELV, KEV, KEVV, VSEF, and VSE are generated.
The following requirements types are valid for the MRP area: KE, KEK, KEKS, KET, KELV, KEV, KEVV, VSEF, and VSE.
You cannot plan with preliminary planning materials in the MRP area.
There is no planning strategy for the material segment of the MRP area.
The planning strategy for the material master segment of the plant is assigned to the material segment of the MRP area.
The consumption mode and the periods of adjustment are derived from the plant in the MRP area of the material master.
Only consumption customer requirements with planned independent requirements are allowed: VSF requirements with KSV and VSFB with KSV.

  • MRP  : Planning levels , time lines , qunatities

    Hi all ,
    can somebody answer me this
What level can we plan the material using MRP ?
can material planned at storage location level ?
What are the time ( lines ) say Purch processing time , planned  delivery time , GR processing time are considered during MRP run. what stock types are considered ?
what are those qunatities taken into consideration ?
    thanks all
    sri

What level can we plan the material using MRP ?
can material planned at storage location level ?
    1. Generally, you can run MRP at plant level and this MRP run will consider all of oyur SLocs.
    2. If you use MRP areas, there will be one MRP area for your plant, and there may be MRP are for SLocs as well for your subcontractor. In this case you can run MRP at MRP area level.

    3. You can use SLoc MRP concept. In this case you can exclude SLoc from planning (via setting in MRP4 view of material master > SLoc exlusion will be valid only for materials you set the proper indicator). You can also carry out settings for SLoc to be planned separately (MRP won't consider those SLoc during planning, but it will plan for them separately > CBP). Please notice that SLoc MRP is not the same as MRP aea.

What are the time ( lines ) say Purch processing time , planned delivery time , GR processing time are considered during MRP run. what stock types are considered ?
    1. What kind of stock types are considered you can set for MRP type.
SPRO > Production > MRP > Master Data > Check MRP types
    2. Purchasing processing time, PDT, GR processing time
