Release Material Reservation

Dear Experts,
My client is asking for a release strategy/approval process ( Single step) for manuaaly created Material Reservation.
Can anybody suggest whether it is possible in standard SAP? Customisation possible?
Any suggestion will be appriciated with points.

Hi Santosh,
There is no release strategy config available for reservation in Std. SAP
HOWEVER YOU CAN CONTROL CREATION OF RESERVATION THROUGH
authorizations by assigining specific roles to user ids
Please talk to your BASIS team for help with regards to Authorizations

Material Reservations and PO

Hello,
my question is at which stage of the network the material (components) reservations or Purchase orders, automatically trigger.
when the project (with networks and materials) is created or released.
because I have issue like the project is in TECO and for some reason we are planning to undo the TECO. if I undo the status, will it again creates the PO or reservation.
Is there any document, which explains in detail about the configuration of PS -MM integration.
Is there any concept like labor reservation just like material reservation. I am not sure is question itself true or not.

My answer is correct considering the following in my perception and not in SAP functionality view.

At what status of the WBS / network will this Material reservations or PO's get triggered. Is it at Created or Released.

When WBS elements are in created status means project has not yet received the approval to go ahead from the project controller or whoever may be in the business.
If some reasons, Management cancel the project or Customer cancel the project and its very easy to set the DLFL flag on project. But what will happen to the committed costs. Do the Management ready to take up unwanted burden and raise unwanted inventories in warehouse. Risk Mitigation is an alternate option but try to avoid inviting the risks which will save time and money.
There are so many things to consider just not going by the SAP functionality. This is what I feel and you may not accept my statement but at the same time I respect your views and ideas.

Material Reservation Create Upon Saving Work Order

Dear Experts,
We have a requirement that material reservation needs to be created upon release of the PM order. However in SAP standard it is created upon saving the PM order.
Do you know the way how to change it that reservation will be created upon release of the PM order? Is there any OSS note etc. I had a search on service place in SAP but couldnt find something relevant sofar.
Any help, idea will be highly appreaciated.

Yes you can configure the system using standard setting where the reservation will be gerated after order release.
Please follow the following path.
1. SPRO> SAP Standard IMG setting> Plant Maintenance & Customer service-->Maintenance & service Processing > Maintenance and Service Orders>Functions and Settings for Order Types-->Define Change Docs, Collective Purc. Req. Indicator, Operation No. Interval
In this step, you can define:
Whether reservations or purchase requisitions relevant to materials planning should be generated when an order is created or only when the order is released. You do not select the field reservation/purchase requisition. The result is that purchase requisitions are only generated when the order is released, and reservations only become relevant to materials planning once the order has been released.

Hello,
when there is no material in the store if the order is showing the availablity,then check the Availability Check for Material, PRTs, and Capacities node in IMG.
In order there are two material availability check,one is over all material availability check,which will shows shortage only before release or during release once the order is relased it always shows that the material is available.
other material availability check is individual line item check,when you check with this it will take to the ATP quantities of the material where it will shows the availability same as the MMBE,including the Reservation,PR & PO quantity.
So better check this.

Funds reservation with material reservation

The matter I need help with is funds reservation with material reservation, as the title says.
I have done some research about this and although [this thread|Material Reservation; and [this note|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=91036] say it is not possible, [this SAP Library page|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/17/aea93769928b7fe10000009b38f8cf/content.htm] and [this enhancement package overview|http://www.id.uzh.ch/dl/sw/sap/upgrade/EHP3_Overview.pdf] (p. 194) state explicitly that it is possible. I am going to be optimistic and assume the latter are valid, what still lacks however is information about where this configuration is to be made and how.
How can I enable the creation of commitments upon material reservation?
Any help will be appreciated.

There is no automatic linkage/iteractions between the two, at least not up to release 6.02 (for more recent packages I'm not sure).

Material reservation deleted into maintenance order

Dear,
I'm facing with strange issue with some maintenance order... The users have created some maintenance order, done material reservation and released these order... After that they are trying change these materials reservation and then when they go until the reservation they can see the material with status "item is deleted".
However no changes was done these reservation. The components items is maintaned with gray scale.

Are you using any developments that might delete these components?
Also, can you send a screen-shot of the following:
Components tab with deletion indicator shown
Order header - so we can see the statuses
Double-click into one of the material items to view the General Data sub-tab

Material reservations

Hello ,
Currently when i make a process order , the reservations are created for components.
The reservations are more than the stock and receipts , but still the system confirms avaialbility check
What settings control this ?
Also if i am using availablity check '02' during order release ,and system does not allow to release the order if there are missingparts. How can i allow the release of order to take place with warning message.

Shankar,
You need to define the scope of check for this purpose.
Execute T code OPJJ.
Select the combination of 'Availability checking group' & 'Checking rule' i.e. PP(for production) & click on details.
In the next screen you have options of selecting the stock as well as In/outward movement. Tock mark as per your requirement.
Also in check the settings in T code OPJK.
In that select the combination of plant, order type & business function i.e. either 1 or 2.
For both the functions check whether you have marked 'Check material availability'. If not then mark the same.
For your second query, in the same T code for business function 2, under material availabilty, against 'Release material' checnge the setting to 1 i.e User decides on release if parts are missing or 2 i.e. Release permitted despite missing parts as per your requirement.
Currently it must be 3 i.e. No release if parts are missing.

How to generate Outbound idoc for Material Reservation

Hi Experts,
I want to send outbound IDoc when a material reservation is created with tcode MB21.
I have been working on this issue and finding the solution in SCN for a week...
I found some messages similar to this but I could not find out the correct way how to do that.
At this moment, I configured BD64/WE20 referring the following topic which seems to be feasible solution but could not find any outbound IDocs created, unfortunately.
Implement ALE_RESERVATION_CREATE
I appreciate if someone can help me how to create outbound IDoc with MB21 or advice some possibility of missing configuration or steps.

Datasource for material reservation data from SAP R/3 (RESB & RKPF table)

Hi,
How can i take material reservation data stored in SAP R/3 RESB and RKPF table. I can create generic data source and full upload of data is possible but how to manage daily delta. None of these table having change date to extract daily changed record to BI. Please suggest.
Please inform if any business content data source available for Reservation data?

Hi,
Many times we face such situation, that we need to create a generic data source and there is no field to define delta.
In such situations you can go for psuedo delta.
Ask the client that at any point of time till which date will the data be changed.
Eg. the client may say that at max we will change last three months data.
In that case everytime you can do a full update and load only data of last three months.
Instead of date you can consider any field as per your requirement.

As its a standard SAP transaction referring to standard business object type BUS2093, so I was expecting that the Object Services will be enabled for this.
Kindly help as to how I can configure the display of Object Services toolbox in this transaction to link attachments. (If its regarding changing some code like including cl_gos_manager or SWU_OBJECT_PUBLISH, then kindly explain in detail.

Movement Types for Material Reservations

Dear All
I have defined New package for defining new movements types for material reservation in PM order. this activity is carried out at following path.
SPRO> Plant Maintenance and Customer Service>Maintenance and Service Processing--> Maintenance and Service Orders >General Data>Define Movement Types for Material Reservations.
This has been carried out as i want to take the material in using 904 movement as reversal of 261.
Can any body tell me where can I assign tghis package to Order/order types?

In the standard system, movement types are preset which you must not change.
For the components, Plant Maintenance and Customer Service, the entry with the key 'IWO1' is relevant. In addition, you only need the two entries for the goods issue (GI) of materials for maintenance orders and the accompanying reverse operation (GI cancellation).
as of my knowledge we don't have the option to go with ordertype wise settings
