Reorder pt and mixed MRP

Hi,
What is the effect of setting a reorder point on PD,P1,P2,P3,P4 materials ? Does it serve any purpose ? Also  what is the function of the mixed MRP in the material master ?

Dear,
Reorder point on PD,P1,P2,P3,P4 materials not serve for any purpose.
The following MRP types are defined in the SAP standard for consumption base planning (Reorder)
u2022 VB => manual reorder point planning
u2022 VM => automatic reorder point planning
u2022 V1 => Automatic reorder point planning including external requirements
u2022 V2 => Automatic reorder point planning without external requirements
u2022 VV => forecast-based planning
The reorder point is calculated for materials that are planned using reorder point if the procedure, "automatic reorderpoint planning" has been selected, if historical data exists, and if the forecast has been carried out.
and in manual you have to define it.
The safety stock can be calulated automatically for materials planned using MRP or using reorder point
procedures if you have maintained a service level, if historical data exists and if the forecast has been
carried out.
The purpose of Mixed MRP is to calculate the Gross Requirements Planning for Planned order in the MRP run.Pls let me know any clarification.

  • Mixed MRP and delivery type

    Hello,
What is the function of the mixed MRP indicator. The help text does not say much excpet that its used with certain planning strategies ?
Also what is the difference between the dleivery types LR and RL ?
    Thanks

This indicator is used to conclude whether the material is available for any one type of planning.
In Mixed MRP itself you can assign 3 different values
1 Subassembly planning with final assembly
    2 Gross requirements planning
3 Subassembly planning without final assembly
In this value 1 is set for strategy 70 - Planning at assembly level.
value 2 is set for strategy 11 - Gross requirements planning
value 3 is set for strategy 74- Planning w/o Final Assembly at Assembly Level.
And for strategy 89- Assembly Processing w/ Char. Planning value 1 will be set

  • Automatic reorder point and safety stock caluclation- MRP type:V2

    Hi,
I want the system to calculate reorder point and safety stock. To simulate this i created one material with
    MRP type:V2, service level as 97%, Forecast model:D,Hist. period:12,Forecast periods:12, and I entered
the historical value for past 12 months as 100 nos in material master.
    04.2009     100
    03.2009     100
    02.2009     100
    01.2009     100
    12.2008     100

    07.2008     100
    06.2008     100
    05.2008      100
Then I went to MP30 and executed the forcase. When I checkd the material master the system has calculated the reorder point as 14 nos. But there is no value updated in safety stock field.
    Now I have two questions.
    1) How the system has arrived the reorder point value as 14 nos.
    2) Why there is no safety stock updated in material master.
    Could u please clarify this.
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi,
This is further to my preivous mail. I have changed the consumption values and now i am getting the safety stock.

  • Mixed MRP indicator 1 for PIR consumption of STO

I am aware that Mixed MRP indicator is used in planning strategies 70, 11 and 74.
could some one please help me understand the rationale behind using mixed mrp indicator 1 for consuming PIR by Stock transfer documents using BADI MD_PIR_FLEX_CONS
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ERPLO/PIRconsumptionwithStockTransport+Documents

    Question is
what is the technical reason behind using mixed mrp setting in material master for consuming pir with STO using badi dm_pir_flex_cons. I do not see how they are related??

  • Mixed MRP Indicator

    Hi ,
Can any one explain me the use of Mixed MRP indicator in MRP view of  material master. What is the use of this and when we need to activate this. Thx in advance

    Hi,
Mixed MRP indicator is used mainly in case when Gross Requirement Planning is used i.e. when you have requirement of not considering plant / stor locn stock in MRP run then you need to use strategy group 11 Gross requirement planning along with Mixed MRP Indicator as

  • Static or Dynamic Reorder Point and Safety Stock

    Hi,
In a retail scenario, what would be the advantages over the other of setting a static or dynamic reorder point and safety stock?
The MRP type used is Time Phased Planning, but whether to let the system automatically set the reorder point and safety stock is the question. What should be considered in implementing this?
    Regards,
    Lee

    hi,
As far as i know is static means manual entry of reorder point.
The dynamic or automatic reorder point is used for Forecast based planning...
the sysstem wii automatically calculate the reoder point evrytime there is the forecast run.
So, it dependig on ur scenario , select either manual or automatic.
First entry for both is always manual entry....
    hope u got this..

  • Having to reorder twice and waiting a month to fin...

I ordered BT Broadband with BT about a month and a half ago (the first order)! I asked for a new line(not the exsisting line) i placed the online order and set everything up happy days or so i thought!!! new internet very soon. A few days later my brother had an email through saying his broadband had been ask to be terminated by BT(on the exsisting line) I specifically said i wanted a new line installed.
So anyway i phoned BT automated **bleep** line that needs replacing with real people from the UK and create jobs in the UK rather then India or do away with the automated system completely. RANT over. I was then told i had to cancel the order, get my brother to cancel the termination of his broadband, Job done. I complained a bit (not to aggressively) about the cancellation of the order and that i asked for a new line installation and i was then put through to a UK BT sales person to set up a new order!
I set the order up was given some story i could get free BT vision for a year as i was messed around, then told i wasn't allowed it (was this to sweeten me up i now ask myself).
The nice speaking English woman then said i could have the same contract BT Broadband Option1 twelve month contract so on. But that i couldn't pay for the line rental saver straight away and that i had to do this when the connection was set-up(fair enough i thought) They took my email address over the phone but never gave me a btinternet.com address.
I received an email from BT stating i had to confirm my email address but when i entered my details i always got an error please try again later. I then logged into MyBT page and discovered i had to wait 3 weeks until i received my BT homehub and the engineer to come round and install the line. thought ok this is a long time to wait but so be  it.
7th of november arrived great new internet to be installed today i woke early thinking there was gonna be a problem today, helped dad rig up some new cables around the house!! waited for the engineer waited  and waited no router delivery either well mid afternoon i phone BT up again and after the 3rd call got through to some one.
Now to my shock and horror i was told that my order had failed for some reason which wasn't explained and that neither the engineer nor my router would turn up. Then to even more shock i was told that i would have to have this order cancelled and then reorder it after 24hrs. B y this time i was a little angry(no steam coming out my ears as to yet) I then asked why the order had to be cancelled and the pretty sounding Indian women gave no answer and repeated that there was a problem with the order. I then angrily said that the problem was your end and that i was lead to believe that my order was supposed to be set-up that day! Which the woman then stayed quiet and didn't respond no answer after about 30 seconds i repeat my question with i am sorry sir. an then no response i stayed on the phone with her ignoring me for at least a minute and said what can be done about this. you should be able to sort it out. repsonse was that i had to reorder then have to wait again for 3 weeks.
I then asked to be put through to a manager 5 minutes later of music and i was through i explained what had happened and he said he would make some inquiries. 5 minutes later he came back(more Music) and said i had to phone back tomorrow and that it was something  like it was the engineers fault this happened and that i would probably have to reorder.
If it was the engineers fault why would i have to reorder couldn't they just send him out a few days later. No very annoyed me and shocked have to reorder again and wait for how long i do not know! perhaps the order will fail again.
I  have had to take a day out of work and need this new connection for my work!
Can anyone shed some light on why this happened and whether there is a fast track service to get me up and running!
SOME FEED BACK WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

  • Update Excise base value in MRP based and Non-MRP based billing

    Hi Gurus,
We need to update Excise Base Value for Statistical Condition type. How to configure the same ?
Sl.No  Pricing Condition Type      Active   Statistical           Passed to Accounting
    1        MRP Price (Statistical)
    2        Abatement (Statistical)
    3       Surcharge  (Active&Passed to Accounting)
    4      Assessabel value (Statistical)
(No:4 This is the base for calculating Excise duties i.e Excise Base Value)
    5       List Price (Statistical)
    6       Customer Discount(Statistical)
    7      Surcharge(Active&Passed to Accounting)
8      Net Price (Active&Passed to Accounting)
    9      BED   (Active&Passed to Accounting)
    10    ECess  (Active&Passed to Accounting)
    11   SECess  (Active&Passed to Accounting)
    12   Total collected from Customer(Statistical)
Issue: When there is MRP Price higher than the List Price, then the Cutomer will be charged on the basis of Net Price only, but the duties amount to be paid to the government on MRP Price. so in this case I can not calculate Excise Duties on the Actual Net Price condition which is active and passed on to accounting. And always the Excise duties to be calculated on Assessable value(no:4). But that condition type if I make activate then it will pass to accounting and also getting added to the Net Value(KOMP-NETWR). How to come out of this situation.(as per the customer requirement both MRP based materials and non-MRP based materials are also considered in the same sale order i.e with the same pricing procedure).
Becasue of this EXBAS is not getting updated in the J_1IEXCDTL.

    Dear Lakshmipathi,
As per your suggestion, I have maintained Material Assessable Value and then also the duty values are calculating on the basis of Assessable value maintained in the Pricing Procedure. It is not taking the Material Assessable Value into consideration. And it is not getting updated the Excise Base Value.
In which case Material Assessable value will be taken into consideration?
How to update the Excise Base Value in J_1IEXCDTL tables?
    Thanks&Regards

  • It is actually possible to record and mix a complete album using GB?

in a commercial sense? (moving this from another thread as not to hijack)
Here is a scenario. Take an artist like Jose Gonzalez http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4_4abCWw-w&feature=fvw Is GB a capable enough environment to record and process music like this and perhaps even host the necessary mastering plugs to finish?
I have seen many comments about when it would be right to step up to Logic and they mainly revolve around needing something perhaps like the comping feature for example. These are aids in time saving and for rescuing imperfect takes. However, is there anything inherently wrong or uncommercial or amateurish in believing that GB is all I need to record and produce my self funded independent commercial release?
    or .... whats the stigma?

    gjmnz wrote:
in a commercial sense? (moving this from another thread as not to hijack)
For the most part, I think the answer is no. There are always exceptions, and GB can do a lot, but the exceptions in which people have used GB to fully produce a released album are statistically rare for legitimate reasons.
Someone brought up the Springsteen album made on a cassette as an example that you don't need professional gear to make a professional album. That's true if you're, you know, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN! Ravel wrote the melody for Bolero on a napkin, I believe. Does that mean napkins are sufficient for notating music and musicians should abandon staff paper?
Then there's the argument that GB is more sophisticated than what many albums of the past were made on. That's true in many respects. But the sheer quality of analog components used in classic albums far surpasses the limitations of the type of consumer interfaces typically paired with GB, compounded by the inability of digital simulations to replicate their analog precursors (yet). Yeah, the Beatles may only have had a limited number of tracks, but the caliber of audio feeding those tracks was spectacular. (Aside from the music).
    I'm not dissing GB.
    Quite the opposite.
I love GB, use it, advocate its use, praise it to the high heavens.
    GB is revolutionary and democratizing.
But the features in GB don't reach into the kind of pro features necessary to produce a typical commercial release.
Not that GB isn't a great starting point, and I think a number of artists do just that. Start in GB, but the tracks are then imported into a more full featured digital audio workstation where they can be more adequately mixed.
Somewhat motivated by this thread, I tried to produce a song this past weekend entirely in GB. I plugged expensive hardware into it - high end mics, preamps, compressors, etc. So it sounded pretty good.
The wall I hit was when I needed to edit. I need to edit some parts together and couldn't really do it without Logic's more precise editing tools, cross fading, etc. The machine I was using didn't have Logic on it, so I was all intent on staying in GB, but the song was hobbled by lack of a more complete feature set. Of course, maybe if the song didn't need those edits I wouldn't have hit a wall, but it did.
I also didn't have the plugins that I normally have in Logic available, and they would have helped. I suppose someone could invest in a lot of plugins and use them in GB, although most people who make the plugin investment would already upgrade to Logic because it makes economic sense - Logic is a bargain considering everything it comes with before you'd start adding 3rd party plugs. So it'd be weird to have, say, a thousand dollars worth of plugins and still be on GB. But I suppose you could do it... but still... you'd be missing all the editing and mixing features of Logic which are a level of magnitude more robust than GB.
People can produce fantastic work in GB and, as an empty vessel, if you fill it up with top grade music, that's what matters most. But if you're serious about releasing your music above a certain threshold of production standards, the type of tools that come with Logic, ProTools, Digital Performer, Cubase, etc. start to get fairly essential fairly quick.
It's not a stigma. If you can do it in GB, if anything, that's kind of cool. But try asking this question in the Logic forum and see what kind of answers you get from musicians who regularly use Logic. Seriously. See what kind of points Logic users would make to advocate bumping up to Logic if your goal is to release a commercial production.

    1) Subassembly planning with final assembly
    2) Gross requirements planning

The purpose of Mixed MRP is to calculate the Gross Requirements Planning for Planned order in the MRP run.
