Replicate a table as datasource on BW

Hi,
I am planning to create tables in BW and then somehow replicate the tables as datasources to begin loading. Is this possible? if it is, how can I do that?

Actually I have these flat files that are supposed to be loaded to BW for master data infoobjects. Per Kamal, I can load through flat files using infopackages, but I am planning to do the following to ease the pain of formating the files by hand:
1. Upload the data files to BW tables using ABAP.
2. Run RSO2 from BW to create data sources.
3. Replicate in BW.
4. Create infosources.
5. Create infopackages.
6. Load to the InfoObjects.
Would you think this would work? When I replicate, would I highlight the BW source system?

how can i replicate some tables from local database server(Oracle 8.1.7 on windows 2000 server) to a remote database server(Oracle 8.1.7 on Sun Solaris)
whenever there is some insertion or updation on the table of base(main) database it should get updated to the remote database server
or
on time base for example: every 2 hours
please help me!!!!

It all depends on waht you are going to do with the data on the remote.
if tehre are no updates there, creating a simple materialized view on the remote to pull it's data from the local should suffice.
If there are updates on the remote, you will more than likely want to look into either Multi-master replication, or updatable materialized views.

Database table as datasource is not a "flat table"

Hi there,
im trying to transfer a user-created table from a sap-system into our sap-BW. I specified the table
as a datasource and everything seems to work fine.
But when i try to activate the generated datasource in the BW-system, it says it can't activate the datasource because its not a flat table.The datasource looks like [this|http://www.picstar.de/data/27-4-2009/bi.JPG], some of the fields of the original table containing strings we're ignored.
It works fine with other database tables though.
Any ideas?

Hi Dominik,
On which table did you create your dataSource ? Is is a transparent table (not a pool or a cluster table) ?
You can see this in the technical option of the table (SE11).

Connect Crystal report with FI Data through MAXDB ERP Tables or Datasources

I want to create crystal report queries for SAP ERP FI Data. The source system database is MAXDB.
How can i connect the maxDB database or ERP to crystal report?
Do i need tables or datasources to create queries, and how do i connect them to crystal report.

The drivers I am talking about will be available in the CR Designer once you install the BO integration kit for SAP solutions.
If you try to access directly the underlying MAX DB database you will not have access to all data since SAP ERP stores the data partially compressed in the database tables.

From where can we find what all tables a DataSources is extracting the data from. We are working with BW 3.5. I know if we look at the InfoSource we can find out the mapping fields but how do we know which table it is coming from for eg. I want to know 0PROJECT_ATTR is getting the data from which table?

How to replicate cluster table into BW on HANA using SLT?

Hi Members,
We have a requirement to replicate cluster table from SAP ECC (Ex:BSEG) into BW 7.4 on HANA using SLT. We know that HANA SLT is capable of replicating cluster table but it looks like BW-SLT is not capable of doing the same.
Please clarify on this and any documentation in this regard will be very helpful.
Also wondering if the current release of BW-SLT can be used to replicate Cluster tables from SAP?

I dont understand , why you have doubt on BW-SLT???
Using SLT you can replicate the tables pool or cluster .
If you have more specific requirment please share the details

Ok fine , its a classification datasource , its is generated one ,you can find the details in the table CLBW_SOURCES
in your source system (ECC ) ,
Provide the datasource name in the infosource field , and the field OBTAB shows the source table for the extractor

Confused: the difference between ExtractStruct., and table in datasource?

Run RSA6 on R3, locate any datasource and display it, then we can see a ExtractStruct. field at the top, and many table fields at bottom. What's the difference between the ExtractStruct. and the below table in the datasource? All the entries are the same between these two? Or usually the below table in the datasource contains all the standard fields and it we want to populate the standard fields, we will have to add them to the ExtractStruct. during the extraction?
Also double click ExtractStruct. to open it, we can see an Append Structure button at the top bar. We know that if want to add custom fields, then we need to add them to the Append Structure, but if we want to just update standard fields, we just need to add them to the ExtractStruct.?

Hi Kevin,
The Fields you see in RSA6 are the fields of the extract structure only. It is a list of all the fields in ES. Some of the fields might be hidden and some of the fields might be used for selection. If you double click on the ES and go in, you will see the same set of fields. If you edit the DS, you can change the selections boxes there according to your requirement.
Append structure is for appending the necessary fields to the ES as you rightly mentioned. You can not change the standard delivered fields. You can do it using the access key but definitely not advisible. Hope this helps.

I have created a datasource using Visual Administrator. I am trying to connect to it in my portal application. I have written the following code...

Connection connection = ds.getConnection();
But I am getting the following connection exception....
ResourceException in method ConnectionFactoryImpl.getConnection(): com.sap.engine.services.dbpool.exceptions.BaseResourceException: SQLException thrown by the physical connection: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Login failed for user 'sysadmin'.
can anybody tell me how to go about this exception?????

Hi Ray,
You can do this by using the dbms_streams_adm.rename_table package on the destination/target where you are running the apply process. Create the RULE for the apply on the target using the same owner as the source. Then, run the following on the db with the apply:

Issue in filling setup table - 04 datasources

I am facing issue in filling the setup table for 04 datasources, when I execute the setup table without any selection, it is not showing any message saying that filled successfully or something when I cross checked inRSA3 it is showing 0 record please help me in resolving this.

Is this problem for all areas in LO?If yes then follow as below or if not check log.
Check with PP team whether they have created the data in the system.I hope there is wrong in the procedure.Might be you are checking in the development system of r/3.I hope your client is also mainataining separate cient for Data and that client will be cross-client.
Ex : 100 is dvelop client where you will activate DS. AND 200 WILL be test client. Here you have to setup.

How to know which all DB tables has attached to any specific datasources (R/3) ..
like : 0EC_PCA_1 - GLPCT
0EC_PCA_3 - GLPCA
Is their any specific transaction to know all these or any DB tables which update all the details regarding the datasource and their respective tables from which they are updated.

No - you will have to do the digging yourself
If it is a view then you are lucky - but 99% of the transaction datasources are not
They are either from direct postings to the delta queue (you can see this in LBWE - which types of postings update the queue for each datasource - eg PO, GR)
For everything else - it's funtion module and read the 10,000 lines of code for each one (normally look in the function modele for a get_delta statement and double click down till you get the details)
