Reserve stock once delivery is created

Hi All,
I want to reserve the stock once delivery is created. In short when delivery is created in MMBE we see that qty in "Schedule for delivery", but i want to see that in "Reserved" column.
Kindly let me know what settings needs to be done.

Hi,
There is no standard SAP configuration to automatically post the stock to sales order stock
You have to either manually do 412 E or programatically post the stock to sales order using 412 E
for Automatically controlling use MB_CREATE_GOODS_MOVEMENT Function module in the Sales order Exists
Code the program in such a way it will post the stock for that sales order and saves
So no manual intervention is required here

Assign LC to Sales order after delivery is created

Dear All,
Business want to assign the LC to sales order even after creation of delivery document.
But once delivery is created Payment guaratee procedure and Financial doc no. fields in sales order are greyed out.
Is it possible to make this fields editable even after delivery.
We can assign LC to delivery document but there too many deliveries with reference to one order and user very often misses to assign LC to delivery.
Please advice.

Firstly for Sales Orders against which you have created Delivery, LC No. (Financial Document) feild in the Sales Order can not be made editable now. It is against the Business Principles as explained above.
Regarding your doubt on making the Feild mandatory in future, there will definitely be different Distribution Channel for Exports or some other thing that is common for all Export Orders where LC is required. Apply a User Exit in which you can write a code to check that Condition that is common for all Export Order & make the Financial Document No. Feild mandatory.
But for Sales Orders for which you have created Delivery, the feild cannot be entered now & you have following two options:
If you want to enter the LC no. just for information sake, Enter in it any Text Id available in Sales order or update the Table entry directly for VBKD - LCNUM feild, but this is not recomemded practice & check with your ABAPer whether it is possible or not.

Delivery is created even if there is no stocks

Pl find the issue as follows.
In our tranship process, a sales order for a variant config material is placed on a distribution warehouse. This creates a stock transport order to be placed on the production plant to produce and send the product to the warehouse. On the delivery creation date for the STO, a delivery will get created even if no stock is available at the supplying plant. It should only be created if the material has been produced. Also, once the delivery is created, neither the STO or the delivery shows on the stock/requirements list at the producing plant, and the demand is no longer relevant for MRP.
We checked for the Checking group,Checking rule and scope of check.

Pl guide me for the check you mention @ "RLT indicator set in the requirement type".
Actually what we though was that system could not found the transfer of the requirements
Pl correct me for the following.
In order to carry put an availability check in the delivery, the delivery needs to find a requirement class.and to do this,the delivery first needs to find a requirement type.This we maintain in Transaction OVZI. So this entry was missing for a particular item category at your end.(it was not maintained for That item category and mrp type PD )I think system will search for the requirement type here.
Next is requirement class should be assigned to the requirements type in transaction OVZH and the requirement class is defined in transaction OVZG where ATP check and requirements transfer can be activated.
Pl suggest.

Stock is available in MMBE but delivery isnt created

Dear friends,
Stock for a material is available under unrestricted stock in a plant, as can be seen in MMBE. But at the time of creating a delivery, system throws up an error saying " Required quantity exceeds available stock"
I feel that some stock might be blocked against some open sale orders. Could this be the reason?
I also deleted one open sale order, still delivery couldnt be created.

Please check in VL21 whether any delivery is created without doing PGI for the same material. In this case also, you wont be able to post the goods issue for another delivery.
Also go to VA02, input the sale order and ensure that the quantity what you are to do delivery is flowing in confirmed quantity. If not, do availabillity check and then retry.

Sales Order/Delivery for particular customer From his Reserve stock?

Dear Couleague,
There is one scenario that faulty material from customer Co. get back by
Return Order (RE), Then return Delivery --& post goods receipt, Of the sold material,
Now co. (PP/QM) do rework Process (assemble, dismantle ...... whatever on the basis of return order) & make perfect material ok
Now this stock PP/QM people put under RESERVE STOCK because it belongs to that particular customer
Now I want to deliver that stock to that Particular customer,
1) HOW CAN I DO?
2) HOW CAN I PICK UP THAT ReserveMaterial while doing Sales Order/ delivery?
Even though I maintain copy control from RE to OR & AvailabilityCheck?

Hi Suresh,
As and when you get a return order for repair, then you do the PGR and place that stock into a different storage location and you get that repaired and when you are doing PGI then fetch the stock from the same storage where you have placed the stock when you did the PGR.
If you are having serial number concept that will help you to give the same piece which you have collected from the customer to return the same piece.
We have implemented the system in the same way in our previous implementation.

Open Quantity zero at Delivery Altough First Delivery Been Created

Hi Gurus,
Here is the issue,
Once I have created the sales order I go for the outbpund delivery .Then I see all item's open quantity to be the same as they are in the sales ordr as they should except one material which shows "open quanity = 0".
wHAT COULD BE THE REASON AND HOW COULD I RESOLVE IT????

Basically the delivery I created was for a order that was created when alot of stock was avaialble.So the stock should be reserved that time.
Secondly ,I am talking about the open quantity column not the delivery.qty column which only shows the quantity which is left to be delivered.

Stock reservation against Sales order and deivery against reserved stock

Hi SAP Gurus,
e We are trying to provide a solution for thscenario where user wants to reserve stock immediatey after SO creation...and deliver same reserved stock.
i am recommanding Reservation where reservation will be created with 231 immediately after SO creation but the rea problem is that how to create SO delivery against that reservation/Reserved stock so that document flow remains intact for the SO.

I had the same question and search landed to this thread but I ask again with the different perspective
The reservation concept is really an MM functionality but you really dont reserve stock against any order or delivery (other than using special stock movement types like 412E) but unless you create a delivery immediately (and include deliveries as requirements in case of ATP check) you have no real way of establishing the hard reservation. If you do a non-order reservation i.e. you reserve something in anticipation then reservation needs to be used as a receipt in ATP check for both sales order and delivery.
Alternatively what you can do at most is to conserve the pegging relationship (fixed pegging) that has been established once the order is confirmed (with or without ATP check) but this can get really tricky when you have batch determination to be done is delivery in which case you find that there aren't enough batch stocks conforming to customer specifc SLED to pick. So both ATP check and pegging looses its purpose of hard reservation. So that leaves us with having to determine batches too at sales order creation and let pegging not change.
Is this is a good idea in general.. 1) in Make to stock segment, 2) In make to order segment..
Does the concept of resevation stocks at sales order creation does more harm than good ? in general.. Implication in planning. inventory build up .MRP. Another issue is how long should you reserve stocks against order or against specific customer or country and such.

Problems is stock transfer delivery

Dear All,
i am facing problem in delivery.i created stock transfer with reference to purchase order.
But in delivery number, quantity is coming less.means in PO quantity is 20 KG but in delivery it showing 9 kg only.
i cheked in MMBE tcode for particular material code & system is showing enough quantity.
how can i resolve this problem.

Reserve stock for sales order

in my case i am using MTS scenario. Now i want to reserve stock for the Specific Sales order. I have done the reservation by 231 mvmt type now material is showing under reservation. but while doing delivery for the same SO system not picking the stock from the reservation only picking from unrestricted stock now tell me how to do the delivery from the reservation stock?

As per your suggestion, I tested and found it working properly. But now if i want to divert the stock to other sales order even after i have created and saved delivery,
in OVZ9,
will I need to only deactivate Include Deliveries check box in inward / outward movements ????? or something more I will have to do?
And,
What is the use of reservation then that we create in MB21 against 231 movement type which is GI for Sales Order. Cant I use that ??

Disallow Deletion of Reservation - if a delivery is linked to it

Hello,
We are in 4.6C and when we create production orders, these Production orders result in Reservations being created, which can be seen in MB23.
To deliver the components to the subcontractor (vendor) an outbound delivery is created. In this outbound delivery there is a link to the reservation. This is in LIPS (RSNUM).
Now users are able to delete the reservation with transaction MB22, without any checks or problems. The warehouse process the outbound delivery and an IDoc is sent from the warehouse, Idoc processing checks the Reservation number while processing the delivery. If the Reservation is deleted, Idoc will not be processed and we have to go into debug mode to delete the reservation number from LIPS, otherwise delivery canu2019t be processed.
Can you please suggest is there a standard way to not allow Deletion of Reservations when a delivery is linked to it? Or is there another way to resolve this issue?

Hi,
I'm not sure, but I think that this isn't a SAP standard process, and that could be the reason that inconsistencies can be created by mistake.
If this is true, I can suggest that you make use of User Status in production order to disable order changes once a delivery that is referred by it is created.

How can I reserve stock for a specific sales order?

We would like to reserve stock for a specific sales order X which must be delivered next month. I have created a reservation (trx. MB21) for sales order X (movement type 231). MD04 list shows the reservation and decreases ATP stock. Stock is blocked for allocation to other sales orders. So far, it works as required. But: I cannot deliver sales order X either! It is possible to post GI for the reservation but there is no link to sales order X. It is still not possible to deliver sales order X. I thought entering the sales order number in the reservation would link the reservation to the sales order but appearently it is not.
Does anyone know if it is possible to use reservations for reserving stock for sales orders? If yes, how does it work?
If not, is there a way to reserve stock for future issue of a specific sales order or for a specific customer?

PS We confirm all sales orders. Stock allocation / ATP-check only takes place at delivery creation.

Thanks for your reply. We are not going to work in MTO environment because we do not make/purchase to order... I will explain our process/requirement in detail:
Normaly a customer orders our products and we deliver from stock. Sometimes a customer calls and informs us that he needs an extraordinary large amount of the product next month. Customer tells us that it is very important that the full quantity is available that date. For us it is no problem to purchase that amount of products in time but we must avoid other customers to take away the stock. Since we confirm all sales orders and do not allocate stock to sales orders, I am looking for a solution to 'reserve' that amount of stock for that specific customer to be available at that specific date (next month).
I tried to use reservations but then I need a sales order number, so that's why I created a sales order with delivery date next month. I created a reservation (movement type 231, sales order number X + sales order item number). Unfortunately the stock can still be assigned to other customers/sales orders... (I was expecting that only sales order X could use this reserved stock...).
Do you know if reservations can be used for this purpose? I do not need a sales order (I only created it because I need to enter a sales order + item in the reservation), if there is a way to reserve quantity for a specific customer this would be a good solution for us as well.

Reserved Stock information in MB52

Hello All,
Is it possible to have "Reserved Stock" information in MB52.
In MB52 Layouts / Line 1 - There is no "Reserved Stock" field available.
Can we bring this information to the layout? (like in MMBE).

Why SAP must have not provided this information in MB52?
This question is difficult to answer for us...sometimes SAP AG creates its software in a way that is not logical to all of us.
However, if you check "Plant stock" view in material master, you can see that "Reserved" is not mentioned. You can't find "On-order" stock also.
The explanation might be that these are not real stock types as someone already mentioned. If you start MMBE and umark checkbox "Also Select Stock Commitments" you won't get these data.
So, these are not real stock types, these pieces of information derive from transactional data (e.g. reservations, open PO).
So, it seems MMBE provides more than a normal stock report, it gives a little bit outlook to planning situation (e.g. scheduled for delivery, Consignment ordered are also not stock types but origin from transactional data).

Split the delivery or create multiple deliveries

Hi team,
Sale order stock is grater than Truck capacity.
We need a solution to either split the delivery; or create multiple deliveries at the time of delivery creation.
Manually we are doing calculations for pallets capacity and then doing loading still some quantity pending or some space pending
Is there any program that can split delivery via Sales order and create Outbound delivery through pallatization..
Any such scenarios you have please suggest.?

Hi,
Normally we can split the deliveries based on the following criteria
1. Different delivery dates for line items.
2. Different ship to parties for line items.
3. Different routes for line items.
But in your above case the issue is regarding truck capacity for which the system doesn't have any information. So you can manually create a new delivery by adjusting the existing one or if you feel the issue is going to repeat for different items in future also then you can go build a custom logic in the system to address the delivery split using a user exit.
