Restore a MACRO in dev system

hello Experts,
I have a macro in development (DEV) system which is transported to the production ( PROD). Someone has changed it in dev so its has stopped working in DEV, but works perfectly in PROD. I am not able to find who / what has been changed in the macro.
I have restore the macro to its original state so it works fine, Is there a standard way of restoring the macro back to its old state.
Any kind of leads are welcome..

If you look in the /n/sapapo/advm the last changed by and changed on columns will indicate when and who changed the macros in the macro book.
Coming to your next question, there are two ways of restoring the macro in the macro book
a) Go to the macro book and in the menu options choose version >> version management . Whenever you make changes to the macro book the old version of the macro book is automatically saved and the new version becomes the active version.  All you have to do is find out the version that has the macro in the format you need and make it the active version by clicking on retrieve. If there are several versions that are saved then you may to find the version that you need by trial and error
b) The other way is to backmigrate the macro book from production to development. You can use transport of copies and backmigrate the book to development and your problem will be solved. You can take help from basis team to do the same.

    You can install the new system refresh with Dev data and import the custom settings of QAS.
    I hope already whatever is in QAS should be also in DEV in fact more than QAS data.

    I have found a lot of threads here, but no one help me.
    The parameter idleStart is configured to false.
    I try to keep BUILD_TOOL_JDK_HOME and JDK_HOME_PATHS as default, and try to set to java 6.
    The build variant in CMS was configured too.
    After the changes i restated the CBS service and try to import again in DEV system. But nothing happens.
    If i import just one or all the components, it get a long time and catch the error showed above.
    I have restarted the server a lot of time too.
    Can someone have any idea how to fiz it?

    Hi Marcos,
    changing the domain user might have consequences, please take a look at the note:

    What I suggest in short is this:
    1. restart the server
    2. once the server is up and running, re-save the track in question in cms webui
    3. restore system state on dev and cons tabs of cms webui
    4. trigger first re-import of SCs on dev tab (import SCs one by one, and do not care of broken DCs until everything is imported).
    When I mean one by one I mean that you select an SC on developent tab of the cms webui, press Import, wait what happens to it, and if it failed, let me know. If not, then select the next SC for import.
    5. wait until it finishes (depending on the size of your development it can be hours, even up to 4 hours).
    If you still got long import and broken DCs, then let me know, this case also take a look at the
    1. Import logs which is usually at /usr/sap/JTrans/CMS/log/*
    Notice, this can be different in your case, check the location of the transport folder under the CMS WebUI (/devinf – Landscape Configurator – Domain Data Tab)
    2. the latest defaultTrace you find at
    -...\j2ee\cluster\server<n>\log\defaultTrace.<n>.trc

  • Refreshing the DEV system, which is our domain controller

    We refreshed our DEV system, which is our domain controller. How to get back our STMS configuration in the domain controller ? Can I run se06 in our proudction system to delete the TMS and then running STMS in production to create the TMS. Then approving that in the domain controller. Is there any other way to restore the configuration ?

    You could always specify a backup domain controller before you start.

  • Can I do a full system restore of a 10.5 system by booting on a 10.6 CD?

    Dear all,
    I am trying to support my parents whos MacBook just failed (harddisk dead). They have now gotten a new harddisk installed and wants to restore the setup from their TimeCapsule.
    I would prefer to do a full system restore, so that it gets back to exatly how they had it before. A 'user only' setup would require them to reinstall all third party apps including MS Office etc., which will be tricky for them.
    Few questions:
    1. Does a 'full system restore' restore everything, including applications and system files? Will it be going back to an exact clone of what they had?
    2. They ran a Mac OS 10.5.x system, but cannot find their installation CD. Can I lend them my Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) CD to boot, while still restoring their 10.5.x system? (I don't want them to have 10.6 as I am not sure about compability with all their 3rd party software/drivers etc.)
    3. Any other things I should keep in mind for a successful restore?

    No. Well, you can do the restore, but it won't boot.
    You need a Leopard disc. It can be the original that came with their Mac, or a Retail (black) version, and it doesn't matter what version of Leopard it is, since you don't load OSX but only use the Installer utility. Thus borrowing one doesn't violate the license.
    They really should have a Leopard disc, not only to do a restore, but also if they need to do a +*Repair Disk+* on the internal HD. And they would need the original disc, for the Apple Hardware Test on it; AppleCare will send them a replacement for a nominal fee.
    3. Any other things I should keep in mind for a successful restore?
    Yes. See #14 in the Frequently Asked Questions *User Tip,* also at the top of the +Time Machine+ forum, for detailed instructions. Note the caution there, under the green box, about turning TM off immediately after the restore.

    I created the HP Recovery USB flash drive.
    From my reading I understand that the recovery USB flash drive is Windows 8 not 8.1.
    My question is:
    Can I restore a Windows 8.1 System Image Backup I made on a USB hard drive using the Windows 8 recovery USB flash drive?
    Or, to put it another way, what is the recommended procedure to back up an upgraded Windows 8.1 computer so, in the event of hard-drive failure, I don't have to start with Windows 8, upgraded to 8.1, re-install all my apps?

    OK here's where I am now and a few followup questions,
    Started with Windows 8.
    Upgraded from Windows Store to Windows 8.1
    Installed lots of apps and got everything running the way I like.
    I created a full system image of my upgraded 8.1 hard drive to an external USB hard drive.
    I have successfully created a recovery boot USB flash.  (did not copy recovery partition) I can restart the computer from
    it and navigate up to the point where it will restore my system image made after I upgraded to 8.1.  (I don't want to risk
    trying it for fear it will mess up my computer)
    Assume my hard drive failed and I have a new blank hard drive:
    My question is at this point does it matter that this was originally a windows 8 (not 8.1) computer?
    Will I be able to restore the image of 8.1?
    Does it matter which version of Windows I created the recovery boot USB flash on?  ( I can't tell when it boots from the
    recovery USB flash if it is running Windows 8 or Windows 8.1.
    I wish there was a way to test this without risking losing all the work I have done to configure the computer??

  • Error in import-check of ESS SC in dev system CMS

    Hi all,
    Im facing some error msgs while performing an import-check of the ESS SC in Dev system of cms. i had no probs in importing other scs for sap-jtech, pcui_gp and others. i downladed ESS 600 SP 10 frm servicemktplace. however the file downloads as a .zip file. after placing this zip file in the cms\inbox folder, i was unable to view the sc in cms/check-iin..i tried renaming the file to .sca. i was then able to view the SC in check-in..my qn is what is the right procedure to convert the .zip -->.sca? i did not encounter this issue when downloading the other files like pcui_gp, they saved as .sca files...would really appreciate any inputs on this.     Instead of renaming the zip file to sca, try unzipping the file. It might contain the SCA you are looking for.

  • How to import corrections in to DEV system ?

    I have to apply the corrections for FI module to my DEV system.
    FI Consultant has downloaded that SAP NOTE in to DEV system thru SNOTE, and its status = can be implemented.
    NOTE = 1015410 has SAR files as attachements and I have downloaded the corrections [SAR files].
    The correctin is for = "Additional Field added for withholding tax codes"
    It has 3 SAR files which contains some new Screens and Screen Elements introduced in the Program = J_1IEWT_PROVISIONS.
    In the Note = 1015410, it is mentioned that " to apply SAR files, refer to Related notes=  480180,13719. "
    Note 480180 says that if it is a correction, " you must follow the installation instructions in the long text of the
    respective SAP note in order to implement the correction in your system ".
    In the NOTE - 13719, it says we need to open the ftp connection to sapservX [userid/pswd=sapservX] and download the data,
    cofiles ?
    Iam not sure how we can do this.
    And i have Uncared the 3 SAR files and i got the following files :
    k003805.CVD - cofile
    R003805.CVD - datafile
    K087494.P7D
    R087494.P7D
    K906169.Q3A
    R906169.Q3A
    In the R/3 DEV server, in /usr/sap/trans,i have a old SAR file = TDS_SAPScript_470.SAR. It had 2 files in it =
    K209581.P6B - cofile
    R209581.P6B - data file
    And K209581.P6B is found in /usr/sap/trans/cofiles/
    But R209581.P6B is not found.
    Does this means that i have to copy the files of the SAR files to /usr/sap/trans/cofiles/ and /usr/sap/trans/data/ ???
    Do i have to copy these files to /usr/sap/trans, and then " tp ADDTOBUFFER ","tp Import ".
    And if i go to correction instruction in the SAP NOTE, i have a Transport Request = CVDK003805 in it. Now what do i have to
    do with that ?
    I have access to OS [hp unix] as root user and also i got access SAP in 000 client.
    Please guide me how i can apply these corrections.

    i tried to do this, iam getting err msg...wht shud i check now.

           Either use "ALL" as transport request or
           make sure the fourth character of the transport request is a 'K'.

    tp returncode summary:

      wrong syntax in tp call

    has your bex query changed that the dashboard is sourcing its data from? if so, and you have set the connection to "refresh before components load" it will sit at this state until it times out (error handeling is not great).  perhaps worth dropping a refresh button in an trying it without refresh on open - this will rule out (or in) a problem with the data connection.

    Hi,
    Run BDLS to change the source system assn. Then check to see if all your transfer structures are active and also your source system is now the correct one. Easiest way is to goto RSA7 on the src system and see where the system is pointing to.

    This info may be helpful.
    You need to test if the extractions are working fine, data is getting loaded into targets, post load activities like activation, rollup, compression etc are successfull etc.
    We test the PC chains also.
    We schedule / trigger the chains and monitor them. We ensure that all the process types are happening successfully.
    Also in cases where we use events/third party shceduling tools to trigger BW chains we check that out.
    Executing reports to check the definitions are correct.
    The volume of data will be lesser in Quality compared to Prod.
    Also activities like Change runs,Deletion , Selective deletion etc are done.
    Also make sure the V3 jobs in source, all other shceduled jobs are reshceduled if they were removed from scheduling.

    I have to create a process chain of master data loading, and i have created the process chain in DEV system, now i want the same in the production system, can you please suggest me which way i do
    1) create the same process chain in Production system directly or,
    2) should i transport the same process chain to production system, i created in the development system.

    It is always advisable to transport the process  chain from DEV to Production. You can just do this by simply gather all the necessary objects for process chain into your transport.
    During the support phase, you have to monitor the data load through process chain. That can be done via transaction code rspcm. In case there is any error in the process chain ( various errors can be there, data loading error, delta error). In that case you have to go to the step of the process chain when the error occurs (it will be marked as red) , rectify the error and process the step manually at the point so that the following process finishes.
    Hope this is clear now.

    We got two DEV systems ("DEV old", "DEV new"). Basically "DEV new" is the copy of "DEV old". They copied the system about 3 months ago. During this period of time, we still developed on "DEV old". Now we were told to move to "DEV new". They said they've setup the transport connection. I need to do a little thing in “DEV new” before I can transport from "DEV old" to "DEV new".

    If you are asking for steps to create a request then go to transport connections -> select the necessary objects to be transported -> drag & drop on RHS then select only necessary info objects & manual & click on package .
    once its done then go to se09 then select your request & release .
