RH7 Translation to French

I have an English version of a large RH7 WebHelp project that
is tied to our point of sale software. Our office in Montreal is
going to translate to French (Canadian). I don't know what version
of RH they are using or what tool they are going to use to
translate. I am assuming translation is not done in RoboHelp.
I am new to translation of a RH project and have some
questions.
It would be best if they are using the same version of RH,
correct?
I would send them all the source files and folders, correct?
Do they translate the topic file names to French or leave as
English?
They would generate the Webhelp output and send back the
output files, correct?

Hi!
trying to build a DVD with encore CS3 I get the following error message while exporting : end of flux reached, in French "Fin de flux atteinte"
and that is all.
My project contains 3 time lines, which are, 2 video time lines and one audio with still picture.
When I try the project in Encore, everything works fine.
I run Windows XP pro and have plenty of space.
Any help welcome

"Fin de flux atteinte" probably translates to "End of stream has been reached".

Workflow translation in french

Hi,
I have to build a kind of workflow application for a customer. I plan to use Oracle Workflow, to save time, but I wonder if the user interface exists in french. In case it doesn't, is there a way to completely translate it ?

Generated source code translated to French is truncated

My demo app incorporates English-to-French translation.

Hello,
When you create simple type, if you select check box from Enumeration Tab, it will create .java file. You can see that .java file in the <Project Name>\gen_ddic\<com.test.components>.
You can get enumeration data from iterator() method. You can find all the methods in that class.

I upgraded my iMac with mountain lion. I can't now use iCloud and Mail. I have the error message : impossible to activate Mail wait a moment and try another time (This is translation from French).

I've made the operation several rtimes withoiut any success

From the Mail menu bar, select
Window ▹ Connection Doctor
Look for the unwanted SMTP (outgoing mail) account in the window that opens. Double-click it. Another window will open, showing a list of all the outgoing mail accounts. The unwanted one will be selected. Click the minus-sign button to delete it, then click OK.
If there's more than one unwanted account, repeat.

Translated headstart messages in French and German

Hi,
You can maintain the translations for the messages using the transaction SE91.You can create the messages using English language 'EN' and maintain the translation in other languages.
Using the menu path GOTO -> Translation, you can specify the translations for any language by selecting the desired language from the drop down list.

WEIRD!! Mercury Messenger and French Translation?!?!?!

sorry, i know this is a little off topic, but something REALLY strange happened! i was talking to my friend on mercury messenger (MSN i suppose), and he started typing in french just for fun. out of no where my text started coming out as french!!! i would type something like "yes" and it would come out as "oui" after i pressed enter! when i asked my friend whats going on, he had no clue! he was actually typing in french, but i was typing in english and it just got translated into french!! can anyone explain this? i tried to type chinese in to break the translation, but it came out as ???????? (question marks). i finally had to close the window and reopen it before my text started coming out as english again. i tried to reproduce it, but it didnt happen again.
i hope someone can tell me why that happened, because it was really freaky! and no, this isnt a joke!

type ALLG_TEST
There is only field with name ALLGTEST and not ALLG_TEST .
when you use it as parameter and check on dictionary field in text elements it takes name TEST RUN (DICTIONARY NAME )

French CHM - So Close...

I have my English CHM and French CHM. If I switch my Windows Display Language to French, I see the buttons are translated to French - this is great.
Now, I have two little problems.
1. The Window caption is stuck at HTML Help. I've set my project language to French and my display language but it doesn't work. According to this post about RH7, the Window Caption couldn't be fixed, so has anyone had any luck with RH8?

2. Advanced Search in French still displays AND OR NEAR NOT. I realize that they're essentially emulating SQL keywords but I do find it a bit strange that ET OU PRÈS PAS isn't shown and when the search is submitted, they could be replaced with the English equivalents before the search is processed. I can't enable the feature because it's unilingual.

MiniTOC does not appear in translated source file

I added a miniTOC placeholder to three of my topics. This is the first time I am using the placeholder.
The English WebHelp project was sent for translation to French Canadian. I received the source project and noticed that the placeholder does not appear in the source file. Therefore, when I compile the output the miniTOC does not appear.
The translation company is using the latest version of RoboHelp, but I am not sure what tool they use to translate.
I have no clue how to resolve this issue. Sample code and screens are listed below.

The Shuffle can only be linked to one computer at a time if you want to use the Shuffle on a different computer you must allow Itunes to restore the Shuffle and than you can use it. Sorry there's really no good way around this besides going third party.

Selective printing restriction in CS4 under Mac OS 10.8 (french edition)

I run CS4 under Mountain Lion for 2 months without problem .... until yesterday.
I can print on my Epson Stylus pro 3800 images with Premium Photo paper (A2 size in the auto sheet feeder ) without problem, but the same image can't be print with Epson Traditional Photo Paper (which must be place in the rear manual feed slot, one sheet a time).
I tried printing with this traditional Photo paper under Apple Preview: no problem!
The Epson support service told me then that it's not a problem of their new french driver (9.0.4). They say so that's a problem with Photoshop CS4 on Mac OS 10.8.
Do you think if I downgrade the Epson driver to the 8.6.4 version, it would be better?
The Adobe support service tell me, this morning, that's not shure to get better if I upgrade CS4 to CS6!!
Have you any experience of this problem?

I've no error message or nothing else.
The working bar is turning in the Epson window, with the message "sending data to the printer" (translated from french ! ;~)) and then, it suddently disapears without anything else !
I've just tried checking UltraSmooth Fine Art paper preset ans a sheet in the manual load slot: perfect: printing is possible!!
Computers are mysterious!!!

TOC in French version of webhelp does not expand correctly

I have a RoboHelp project (RH 8.0.2.208) created by importing an HTML Help project that I use to generate WebHelp. The HTML files, the .hhc, .hhk, .hhp files have been translated to French (from English). I have changed the language in the project settings to French (France) and I generate the WebHelp output. All appears to process correctly except the TOC does not expand and collapse correctly. Some first level entries expand with one click (as expceted), some entries only expand after other entries have been expanded, and some entries will not expand at all, and once expanded, some entries will not collapse.
I have used the same process to generate other language versions and have not had the same issue. I have been searching the forum to see if similiar issues have been reported but cannot find anthing similar.

I had something a bit similar with RH 7, except it wasn't limited to one language but Firefox browsers. That problem was solved by installing the latest RH patches. You have a later version of RH and the problem is only in French, so the problem is most likely in the French help project.
What I'd do to troubleshoot it: Make spare copies of the help projects, just in case you make it worse and not better.
use a comparison tool like Beyond Compare, to compare the .hhp, .hhc and .js files between the French and English projects: any unexpected differences that are not language related? If there are unexpected differences in tags or other functional items, copy those items from the good project. Rebuild the project by opening the .hhp file.
or
Assuming your projects use the same file names for everything, copy the French .htm, .hhc and .hhk files into a spare copy of the English project. Open the project normally and change the language setting and help title (the .hhp should not have any other translated texts than the help title).
It can happen that a translation agency does something to the translated files, that does not work in your system. It can be very obvious in a side-by-side comparison, in a comparison tool or just Notepad, or it might be a bit more hidden like wrong character encoding.

Translation of links to factsheet and pdf factsheet

Hi Experts!
in Account overview, under the "More" button, there is some links to reach the factsheet or the pdf factshhet.
My issue is the translation in french of these links.
They're translated into "info-clé" and 'info-clé en pdf"
I cannot figure out where I can can change this translation to replace "Info-clé" with "Synthèse".
Does anybody knows where it can be maintained ?

You can edit the description in transaction SOTR_EDIT.
Select the correct language and edit the text maintained for the following alias:
CRM_UIU_BP/BP_FACTSHEET
CRM_UIU_BP/BP_PDF
CRM_UIU_BP/BP_FS_PREVIEW
You will then be changing the standard SAP description of the button.
You can also enhance component and view BP_HEAD/BPHEADOverview and redefine the IF_BSP_WD_TOOLBAR_CALLBACK~GET_BUTTONS.
Then after calling the superclass, in RT_BUTTONS, change the value of TEXT and if necessary TOOLTIP to your own values for the entries you would like to change.

Which RoboHelp 7 files need to be translated?

I have been transferred to a different division in my company and I am now responsible for the Online help that is created using Robohelp 7. I am completely new to Robohelp and what little I know I learned through a tutorial that I found. I have just been told that I need to provide RoboHelp files to be translated to French. I am pretty much lost. The application that has Help has two components (and therefore two types of Help): a desktop component that uses HTML Help and generates a ",chm" file and a web component that uses WebHelp that generates ".htm" files.
My problem is that I do not know which files in each type of Help that I need to have translated.
For the HTML Help I assume that I need to have the source files translated. But if I do this, do I need to recreate the entire project including recreating the topics, TOC, and index in French? What about map files?
For the WebHelp, do I just need to translate the ".htm" files along with the TOC and Index files?
I am using RoboHelp 7 on Windows XP
I would appreciate any help on this that anyone could provide. TIA

Translation add-ons for safari

I'm looking for an add-ons for Safari to traslate by selecting and right-clicking over word or phrase. I used Firefox with add-ons gTranslate that use Google Translate service. Exist something for Safari too?

The only "add-on" for translation in Safari is Live Dictionary ($25). Otherwise, you can use some bookmarklets to copy/paste text into Babelfish and get the translation from French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Japanese.

Table for entering translation texts

Hi,
We have couple of queries in web with RRI linking. These query elements ( Row /column header ) we entered translations for French in RSZELTTXT table. All the query text part works fine, but the RRI jump reads as technical name of the query. Are there any other tables to be edited in order to get this jump texts read French not as query techincal name ?
