Route pattern with called party transformations

HI All,
i wanto to add route pattern with transformation
i want to add RP with 9.001! predot
and want to convert to 9.01017! with called party transformations.
How we replace ! ? i've tried and it's error with message
Called Party Transform Mask - allowed characters are numeric (0-9),plus (+),asterisk (*),pound (#),X.
I've give screen shot for the configuration
Please anybody help.
Thanks in advance
Regards,
ATommy

You can create the RP with 9001.! and in the called party, discard predot and prefix 901017.

  • Help with Calling Party Transformation Patterns

Hello,I am struggling to figure out how to apply Calling Party Transformation Patterns on CUCM for MGCP gateways.
Basically, we use MGCP gateway everywhere so I need to apply CPTP on CUCM. However, I know how to do this using a gateway (CME) as an example.
Below is what I am trying to figure out using CUCM...Here as you can see, if the calling party number is 000xxxx then the calling Party xformation is set to 353xxxx and then egress to PSTN.
    If the calling party number is 111xxxx, then the calling party xformation is set to 454xxxx and then gets sent to the PSTN;
    voice translation-rule 1
    rule 1 /^000\(...\)$/ /353\1/
    rule 2 /^111\(...\)$/ /454\1/
    voice translation-profile OutBound_CallerID
    translate calling 1
    dial-peer voice 101 pots
    destination-pattern 9T
    translation-profile outgoing OutBound_CallerID
    port 0/0/0:15
The only way I know how to do this is by creating 2 sets of CSS and PTs. Then, create the same route pattern in both (example 9.!) but set the CPTM on each route pattern as 353xxxx on one and 454xxxx on the other. Then by putting some of the phones with one CSS and some with the other it will work. This is not ideal as I need to be able to do it before matching the Route Patterns and I need all phones to use the same CSS.
    Is there a better way?
    Thanks

@Anas, thanks for the response, great answer. One question. When creating 'Calling Party Transformation Patterns' should the pattern be the original calling party number i.e 111XXXX.
For example, in the below screenshot will CUCM match the pattern if extension 111XXXX tries to make an outbound call?
So the call flow on CUCM goes:
Ext 111XXXX makes call > Route Pattern>RouteList>ROuteGRoup> Gateway>CPT CSS Applied matching below rule which changes Calling PT to 454XXXX > PSTN
    Would that be correct?
    Thanks.

  • Use External phone Number mask * Calling party Transform Mask @ Route patt

Having an issue with CLID at RP level. Lets say I have two phones. One phone is configured with an External phone number mask of 1112223333 and the other one does not have an external number mask set. When a call is placed to the PSTN, Phone one needs to display its external phone number mask. Phone two since nothing has been added under external phone mask needs to be 1112224444.
I configured the RP to "Use External Phone Number mask" and set the Calling Party Transform mask to 1112224444. I figured that if an external phone number mask was specified under the DN that it will route it to the PSTN and if nothing specified under the DN it will default to 1112224444 according to the setting in the RP.
When I configured this, no matter what I do the calling party transform mask takes priority and the external phone number mask is never used. Is there a way around this? I tried it at the RL level and it does the same thing.
Does anyone have any other ideas other than adding an external phone number mask for every phone.

Thats what I thought. Why can't they add that as a feature in the next release of CM? It seems like it could be simple to do. Check for External Phone number mask, if nothing is specified, then check for calling party transform mask. If true set Calling Party transform Mask as CLID and route to RL or something like that..
    thanks

  • Route Pattern with Pause in CUCM 10.5

    Dear Experts,
I need to create a route pattern with a pause to dial a secondary number.
the customer is forwarding international calls to tollfree number, then the user is dialling the international number.
He is requesting to make it as one step, dial the prefix and international number at the same time.
    the pattern is 44.00!
44 will be transformed to the toll free number, and the rest is the international number.
    Any idea
    thank in advance
    Regards
    Anas

Jonathan is correct (+5) - Route pattern and neither the translation pattern would not be able to do that. Tried in my lab CUCM 10.5, it doesn't recognizes comma as a valid entry :
You can configure pause in the pots dial-peer by comma, but I doubt it will be helpful here.

  • Matching Route Patterns with standard Local Route group and Specific Route Group

    Hi
I have a customer with CUCM 8.6 with few branches
couple of branches in UK and few in Europe and middle east.
I configured route patterns with Standard local route group, but using their own Voice gateway, everything was working fine until adding the recent branch with matching pattern
UK has a mobile pattern with 9.07XXXXXXXXX (11 digits)
One Branch has a mobile with 9.07XXXXXXXX (10 digits)
When branch call 907X..(10digit) number there was a delay and I ticked the Urgent priority to process it quicker, but later realized the UK branch cannot dial 907x.. (11Digit) mobile.
I created Route List for branch and added the 10 digit pattern to that but still the UK cannot call 11 digit. so i believe when you call out it will check the pattern first and the Route-List and Route-Group and gateway play a part.
Is there a way to get 07 -10digit call out quickly also allowing the 07 -11digit pattern as well ( without changing the T302 timer)
    Really appreciate your support
    thanks
    shameer

Yes, they key to managing overlapping centralized dial plans is to be really good with patterns, partitions, and CSSs. You can have 3 different 9.0[2-9]XX-[2-9]XX-XXXX patterns and assign them a different partition, and then assign that to the branch CSS. This will only work if each Branch has a different CSS.
    For example:
9.0[2-9]XX-[2-9]XX-XXXX @ Egypt-PT ->Routes to Local route group of Egypt.
9.0[2-9]XX-[2-9]XX-XXX @ UK-PT -> Routes to Local route group of UK
9.0[2-9]XX-[2-9]XX-XXX @ Germany-PT -> Routes to Local Route group of Germany.
    //PT = partition//
    Then have Egypt-CSS that contains 9.0[2-9]XX-[2-9]XX-XXXX @ Egypt-PT.
    UK-CSS contains 9.0[2-9]XX-[2-9]XX-XXX @ UK-PT
    Germany- CSS contains 9.0[2-9]XX-[2-9]XX-XXX @ UK-PT
The other patterns will be invisible to your sites because they are in a different partition that is not in their CSS. 2 overlapping patterns in the same PT will cause you to wait for the inter-digit timeout unless you press #.
    Thanks,
    Frank

  • External Phone Mask vs. Calling Party Transformation Mask

What is the difference between these two features? They seem to do exactly the same thing. Even stranger, if you use a Calling Party Transformation Mask it will override any setting you have in the External Phone Mask field.
Why would you use one instead of the other? The only thing I can think of is that the Calling Party Transformation Mask doesn't change the number that appears in the top line of the phone display, while the External Phone Mask does. Is that true?
I don't get it. Someone please enlighten me. :-)
    Thanks!
    John

External Phone mask does not affect internal calls and there are many situations when you may want internal masking to send digits to voice mail, ICD systems, etc.
Also, Sankar keeps reffering to 9.@
Avoid that in your calling plan as much as possible, it adds a whole mess load of stuff to the route plan report and can cause lots of hassels later on when troubleshooting a call routing issue. target your dial plan as much as possible.
I have seen a few posts on configuration recently. If you have not engaged a partner for the deployment, then consider engaging one for the planning. It will save you a lot of time while troubleshooting later on. You sound quite capable of getting this off the ground on your own, but maybe you should bring in a guy for the afternoon to bounce off a bunch of "best practices" questions. That might be a good use of consulting time.

  • Router 876 with 3d party modem

    Dear all,
i have a 876 cisco adsl router and need to configure a vpn with another router.
the problem is that the router cannot synchronize (due to bad line) so i will have to use a third party modem that can synchronize.
This is what i ve tried so far:
    1) configure the modem in bridge mode and connect it via LAN and PPPoE with the router. The router would do the authentication and then i would create my tunnel with the other cisco router.
That didn't work (i couldn 't make the router authenticate the adsl line)
    2) let the modem do the authentication and then create my tunnel interface. The router can go out in the internet but i don't know how to configure the vpn.
i have set a network 192.168.12.xxx in Fa 0 with the modem and a 192.168.1.xxx in Fa1 with my internal network.
The tunnel source IP in the 876 router is a local IP so i port forwarded UDP ports 500,4500 and 10000 in the modem, but i cannot make the vpn work. I am not sure if these are the ports used by the vpn.
Obviously i am doing something wrong but i don't know what!
Any help with either two ways would be much appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.
    Alex

    1. your modem/router should not have "PPPoE pass-through" enabled. The PPPoE connection with your ISP must be handled by the modem/router itself - not by your Mac. The modem/router should be functioning as a NAT router, and all the wireless clients (like your Mac and the Airport Express) of the modem/router should be connecting to it using DHCP.
    2. I don't know why you activated WDS on the modem/router. It isn't necessary, and whatever WDS flavor is supported by this modem/router won't be supported by the Airport Express. Turn it off.
    3. On the Powerbook, in System Preferences->Network->Show Airport - (a) under the PPPoE tab the box to "connect using PPPoE should NOT be checked and (b) under the TCP/IP tab the only selection should be to configure using DHCP.
Before proceeding to the next steps, you must now make sure your Mac is still able to access the internet wirelessly.
    4. Do a factory default reset of the Airport Express. Temporarily switch wireless network connections on the Mac from your modem/router to that of the Airport Express. Run the Airport Admin Utility. In the Airport Admin Utility, select the mode to be "join an existing wireless network". Below that, type in the SSID of your modem/router. Enter the same WEP type and WEP key as used on your modem/router. Make any other configuration changes required under the Music tab, then update settings to the Airport Express. When finished, switch the wireless network connection on the Mac back to that of your modem/router.
    5. If you still have trouble, remove all security (MAC address filtering and WEP) from your modem/router and see if you can then get the Airport Express to connect as a client.

  • Redirect Calls Based on Calling Party Number

    Hi All,
I am looking for a method to redirect inbound PSTN calls based on the calling party number.  I can do this in CUCM 9 or IOS.  I find plenty of documentation out there on blocking calls by calling party number but nothing on redirecting.
My situation is this.  We are a large company and often get request from users to block calls from annoying or harassing numbers.  Rather than block them I would like to drive them into a mailbox where the caller can attempt to find a resolution if they feel the calls was blocked in error.
Has anyone else attempted something like this?
    Thanks

    Hi Jerold,
If you are using CUCM 8.x and above, you can re-direct the call on the basis of the calling party number.
The configuration is very similar to block a call that uses the new feature added in CUCM 8.x and above (
Route Next Hop By Calling Party Number). The step 8 in the following document explains how to handle the call when the call has be routed by the calling party number. The translation pattern is configure with Route Option as "Block this pattern".
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-18367
In order to re-direct the call, you can configure the Route Option with "Route this pattern" and specify the desired destination pattern under "Called party Transformation Mask". Also, make sure to add the appropriate CSS to be able to route the call.

  • Called party number on phone display - updating with results of translation on GW, not wanted

    Call Manager 9.x, IOS 15.1, H.323 gateways
Hi, I've got 2 questions regarding the called number display on handsets. Essentially, when a user dials an external number it's obviously shown on their phone handset screen - when that number is manipulated to add prefix for certain PSTN gateways etc. the updated number is shown on the phone display, which the users identify as "not the number I dialled" - can this be changed?
It a cosmetic issue essentially, but one I am being asked about and can't find an answer to:
    1) I add a prefix on the gateway to the outbound dialled number (to add a carrier code / network function to all calls) - ie, \^9!\ \1666\ - Process looks like this:
    user dials -> 912345
shows as dialled number on handset -> 912345
translation-rule on gateway (in IOS) converts number to -> 166612345
    call connected
user handsets now updated to show dialled number as -> 166612345  (but still wanted it to show 912345)
    2) Another seperate scenario is that I am doing called party transformation on a route pattern - here the modified number is shown instantly on the callers display. Presumably this in unavoidable? Or, can the original number dialled by the user be displayed on their phone, not the modified one?

    Hi,
any calling or called transformation in the route pattern appears in the screen.
you can discard the 9 in the route pattern and add prefix 9 in the route list level.
for the 2nd point there is a service parameter in the call manager to keep the original dialed number

  • Route Pattern/Route List

We are trying to extract the relationship between the route pattern and the route list. It is our understanding that a particular route pattern should have one and only one route list associated with it. How do you extract and present this relationship using AXL?

  • Route Pattern Failing to Next Route List

Anyone have any ideas regarding a Route Pattern which is failing to the NEXT Route List available? I am running CCM 3.2(2c).
The Route Pattern looks like 1865.XXXXXXX and fails to the Route List specified. The call completes to the next route list. When I make a route pattern as 1865.6XXXXXX it will fail part of the time. When I make a route pattern as 1865.69XXXXX the call hits the correct Route List every time.

  • Caller ID Manipulation based on called party Area Code

I have a new Sales department and they want to be able to call 6 different areas, in which we have a local presence, and have a local number show up for Caller ID and return calls. I have setup a separate Partition and CSS for these users, which will send calls out our SIP trunk. I need all other calls to show the External Phone Number Mask, as normal
I have tried using the Calling Party Transformation in the route pattern to achieve this. I've added it to the Sales partition. I also tried using translation patterns. The "
Use Calling Party's External Phone Number Mask" box is unchecked in both scenarios. I need to get this completed before I brief them on it tomorrow. The External Phone Number Mask field is empty on my test extension. The far end sees the extension of that phone, and not the intended local number.
    Any help?
    Thanks in advance
    - Jonathan Beardsley

The problem, for me, was that the "Use External Phone  Number Mask" box was checked on teh Route Group, overriding other  changes.
So, I built separate RG, RL, and Route  Patterns to achieve my goals, applying the Calling Party Transformation  on the Route Pattern, thus applying different CallerID per area code of  called party.
    Thanks!

  • SNR Caller ID / Transformation mask

    Hello,
I have a calling party transformation mask set on the route list detail for our route list at our main office so that all calls from the office have the same calling number.
I have also configured single number reach and it's working and ringing on the mobile phones that I have configured.  The only thing I cannot figure out is how to have the called party number (outside caller) number show on the mobile phone that's ringing instead of the number from our main office.
    Thanks,
    Dan.

What you can do is create a separate route list and route pattern (pointing to same route group). On that RL you do not manipulate the calling number.
That route pattern you place in a separate partition. That partition you place in a separate CSS. That CSS you configure on the RDP as "Rerouting Calling Search Space".

  • Does the route list gets reset when adding route pattern in version 9 of CUCM?

    Hi All,
I created a new route pattern in call manager version 9 and then associated it to an existing route list. But when I was trying to save the route pattern. I was prompted with the message saying " Any updates to this Route Pattern automatically resets the associated gateway or Route List"
I was not able to see this message on CUCM version 8.6 however on CUCM version 9 it is there.
Does that mean that the route list/gateway will be reset and the existing calls will be dropped?
    Or is it a bug?
A response will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Farhad,
It does pop up when we modify the Route Pattern in CUCM 8.6 too.
If you asociate the GW/Trunk directly to Route Pattern, yes, it will reset them and calls will be interrupted. To avoid that, we need to associate the Route List to Route Patterns.

  • Route Pattern/Filter Issues

Hello - I had a question that I was hoping someone could help me with. I recently had an issue on CallManager 4.1.3sr6a. I have 10 sites, each using their own set of 6 9.@ route patterns for outgoing calls. Although the patterns are distinct, they all use the same route filters. Today, all of the sites began matching on the route pattern with the seven digit filter rather than matching on the long distance filter when a 91XXXXXXXXXX number was dialed (we tested with a number of numbers in different area codes). I wasn't able to input more digits after the 7th and DNA confirmed that it matched on the seven digit filter. The filters are as follows:
Long Distance =(AREA-CODE EXISTS AND LONG-DISTANCE-DIRECT-DIAL EXISTS)
    SevenDigit = (LOCAL-AREA-CODE DOES-NOT-EXIST AND INTERNATIONAL-DIRECT-DIAL DOES-NOT-EXIST AND AREA-CODE DOES-NOT-EXIST AND SERVICE DOES-NOT-EXIST).
I was able to resolve the issue by going to each site, removing the long distance 9.@ pattern and simply readding it (no changes were made to configuration).
It was like it just stopped seeing all patterns using the long distance filter.
I'm wondering if anyone is aware of a bug that may have caused this.
    Thanks very much!
