Route - Transit Time

According to the business through EDI customer places orders. We maintain two shipping conditions delivery and Pick-up. Based on the customer profile we assigned shipping conditions on the ship to customer master in the shipping tab.
My query is related to the customers assigned Pick-up as a shipping condition in customer master.
As we receive orders through EDI sometimes pick-up customer will send in 2 dates on their orders.
1. Requested delivery date u2013 The date they want the order in their warehouse.
2. Requested ship date u2013 The date they want to pick up the order.
In some cases customers will only send one date that is requested delivery date. In this scenario our customer service team is manually back out the date accordingly so it will show the correct u2018material availability dateu2019 and u2018loading dateu2019 on the u2018overviewu2019 of the order under u2018shippingu2019 tab.
Eg: If customer sends the req delivery date is 05/27/2009 order created for the same. Manually we back out the date to 05/24/2009 so that the material availability date and loading date would also be changed to 05/24/2009 on the overview of the order under shipping dat.
How to achieve the functionality where the system will back the order up to show the u2018material availability dateu2019 and the u2018loading dateu2019 as the date that the carrier will be coming in to pick up the order ie On 05/24/2009 and material available in the customer warehouse on 05/27/2009.
If I can maintain the transit time as 2 days for the route determined (t code 0vtc) I can achieve this functionality. However I canu2019t maintain the lead time because we are not arranging the carrier, customer is arranging the carrier and that will be coming in to pick up the order.
Please advice.
Thanks.

Dear Gopi,
My sincere apologies for the delayed reply. I would like to reiterate my scenario.
Based on the information enter in the Idoc Sales orders are generated automatically. Let us assume  requester delivery date has entered by the customer u2013 05/27/2009 if material is available, schedule lines are created for the requested delivery date and confirms the delivery date as 05/27/2009
As the confirmed delivery date is 05/27/2009, Material availability date and Loading date is also 05/27/2009(based on the config settings) u2013 These dates can view sales order overview screen under shipping tab.
In the scenario where the shipping conditions are PU u2013 Pick up, customer is arranging his own carrier to pick the goods.
As customer requested delivery date is 05/27/2009 on this date customer wants the goods in his warehouse. According to our system material availability date is 05/27/2009. If goods leave our premises on 05/27/2009 it would take X days more to reach customer. So customer is getting goods on 05/27/2009 + X days of Transit time, ultimately he is not getting goods based on requested delivery date.
In order to supply the goods on customer requested date, customer service rep has to manually back out the requested delivery date from 05/27/2009 to 05/24/2009 if material available, material availability date and loading date will be 04/27/2009. Customer can pick goods on 05/24/2009 so that goods will be in customer's warehouse based on the requested delivery date 05/27/2009.
We can achieve this functionality by giving the transit time as 2 days so that through backward scheduling  system would automatically confirm the delivery date on 05/24/2009, material availabity date and loading availability date on 05/24/2009. However it is not advisable to maintain transit time for the route determined because we are not arranging the carrier, customer is arranging on his own.
Please advice a solution or a user exit to achieve this functionality without maintain the transit time and without manual manipulation how to back out the requested delivery date on the order.
Thanks.

  • Delivery Date in SO not calculated with Route Transit Time

    Hello Experts,
We are not able to calculate the delivery date in Sales Orders based on the Route transit time.We are using the Transportation group from Material master , Shipping condition from sold to Party , and Receiving issuing plants and zones .
One thing I notices is if we don't use the Transportation group in the material master , then the delivery date calculated based on transit time. Not sure not why its not working with using Trans group in Mat master
    Please advise.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Kindly do not post same questions twice
    HI,
    For delivery scheduling enter time
IMG >> SD >> Basic functions >> delivery scheduling and transportation >> maintain duration
Maintain here route, pick/pack & loading time
For in house production maintain time in material master in MRP view
Then now system will take in account what is production time + pick/pack + load time and then will schedule

  • Use the Transit Times of route stages ?

Hello. I would like to now if I somehow can use the transit time of the route stages instead of the header route transit time to reflect correct ATP. Current SAP is 4.7.
Business Scenario behind my request is mainly for Ocean Liner Shipments:
For Liner shipments most of the times there are fixed sailing Days ( i.e. every Friday ).
Here I use a route with two stages:
Shipping point to port of depature
Port of depature to final destination port.
As a possible solution I thought to use a Transportation connection point in between which should reflect the waiting time at the port having a factory calendar behind. But during first testing I recognized that any time specific date in the route stages are not take into calculation when creating a sales order ?
    Help please !
    Thanks
    Joerg

I think the sales order picks up the time and dates from header of the route and applies stages and leg determination during shipment creation depending upon your shipment doc. type settings, hence, I think doesnt add stage values during order creation.
If I understand the problem right, perhaps a user exit or something can help you get the days to next Friday to add to the transportation lead time and get to the right dates. Check if this idea can help.

  • Transit time of routes from the availability check

is it possible to exclude the transit time of routes from the availability check

    Dear Varada,
no, it is not possible to exclude the route transit time from the availability check process. The ATP process and transportation scheduling are always running together because we have to deliver to the required relivery date. Therefore the availability check always takes into consideration the transportation scheduling.
I hope, this information helps you a little bit further.

  • Routes and Transit times with Global ATP

If Global ATP is used where are the transit times managed usually? in SAP or APO. Since Transit Times are in Routes in SAP. Is there any equivalent data management point in APO?
    Thanks
    venkat Jupudy

    Hi Venkat
You can either call scheduling locally in R/3 and also in APO as part of GATP function.
Transit times are maintained in scheduling steps( creating condition records of condition technique scheduling) for condition type TRAN.
Route determination can be done in R/3. There is a possibility of dynamic route determination in APO but I guess it requires TP/VS and gatp functions.

  • Transit time setting in Route determination

    Hi All
I am configuring route determination. We have a transit time of 5 days for one route and if the system encounters a Sunday in between, it  considers sunday as holiday and confirms delivery after 6th day. Please note that we have maintained Sunday as holiday in the factory calendar because it should not allow shipping activities or any other activities on Sundays in the plant and shipping point, but transit should be allowed. (I mean, if a truck leaves on Friday, it will not take holiday on Sunday)
Please let me know how I can do that

    Hi Monika,
I havent really tried this...but my logic says that you maintain the holidays and working hours by factory calendar under
SPRO -> Logistics Execution -> Shipping -> Basic Shipping Functions > Scheduling > Delivery Scheduling and Transportation Scheduling > Define Scheduling By Shipping Point
Here you would be able to maintain working hours and holidays for your plant/shipping point and Sunday would be a holiday.
In customizing for route determination maintain a new calendar with no holidays. So regardless of which day the truck leaves it doesnt have any holiday.
Here you would need to activate delivery and transportation scheduling based on shipping point.

  • Transit time calculation Route

    Hi,
I have an issue in determining the delivery date for an STO.
My route is maintained as XXX--02 which is 2 days transit time and is correctly getting determined in the STO, however the delivery date is not correct on the STO
Order created date is 11th july
    Material availability is 12th July
trnspt pllng/Load date is 12th July
Goods issue date is 13th July
Considering 13th july as goods issue date and route with 2 days transit time should determine 15th july as the delivery date, however I am getting 14th july as the delivery date instead of 15th.
Can you please let me know if this is something that you have seen before? and any suggestions.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Please check if delivery scheduling is active and 2 days has been defined in route determination under transit time.
The planned GI and Actual GI dates also play an important role in delivery date determination.
If you are just creating a sales order create a delivery for it and check what is determined.

  • Transit time calculation through Route during Location Substitution

    Hi All,
I have standard route determination set up in SD. I am picking up the route from Sales order and calculating the transit time in APO through condition technique TRAN.
But when I do a location substitution , my transit time calculation is being done with the original route.
EX: Original plant P1            Route: R1         Transit time: 24 hours
Substituted Plant:   P2   Route : R2        Transit time :96 hours
But my transit time in the substituted plant P2 is also 24 hours. Although I can see the new route R2 in the sales order item of the substituted item.
Is there a user exit I can put?

    Hi ,
Please try using Plant and Ship To combination, I saw it does not work with Route and shipping point.

  • Transit Time in Calendar Days?

    Hello,
For quite a long time, I thought in transportation and delivery scheduling the TRANSIT TIME is measured in Calendar Days, which means weekends and public holidays are also included. For example, if the delivery date is 2007-12-31, and transit time is 8 days, the system will calculate Loading Date as 2007-12-31 minus 8, which is 2007-12-23.
But a few days ago, I found my understanding is not correct. It seems the TRANSIT TIME is also measured in work days, in the route factory calendar (not the shipping point factory calendar). In this case, the loading date in above example will be calculated as 2007-12-19, for a typical calendar.
    Can someone confirmed this?
    Regards, Ke

    Yes that's right Ke.
The calendar you maintain, if has a weekly off or for that matter country specific holidays these days will be considered as non working days in SAP. however if you want to change this you can define your own calendar having 365 days working.

  • Delivery date and transit time

    Hello,
we have such a problem that we want to model vendor delivery transportation time in Purchase order and also in MRP run.
That is, vendor confirms delivery date, but that date is that when goods are at vendor premises ready for delivery.
So there is several days delivery time in between until goods are really in our premises.
And our planner orders transportation from third-party and only then we know what is the real delivery date.
SAP's Planned delivery time contains both (making of goods by vendor and transport) and thus it not suitable for our purposes due the fact that vendor is not responsible for transportation.
Could you help and tell is it somehow possible to set transit time separately to purchase order? So that we have delivery date for vendor and another delivery date for transportation and that date is relevant for materials planning??
In that way we could plan our purchasing more accurately.
    Thank you in advance.
    -Juha

    Hi Juha,
Do you use Routes (Transaction 0VTC)?  If so - you can specify a 'Transit Duration' value on the Route.
Routes link 'Transporation Zones'.  So for example if your Third-Party Logistics provider belongs to 'Transportaion Zone' A and your ordering Plant belongs to 'Transportation Zone' B - then you can have a Route A <-> B with a Transit Duration Value maintained on it.
This may be a possibility given the specifics of your scenario.
    Hope this helps.

  • Transit Time determination based on special process indicator - Shipment Process

    Hello,
I want to add 5 days more to transit time (which is getting picked from route) when I use special process indicator as PTL (Partial Truck Load) while doing shipment. Is this possible ?
Please let me know if this can be done in SAP.

    Hi,
Both planning (MRP) and ATP is carried out at plant level in ECC6.0 (standard system). If you want to optimize your process above plant level you should use SAP APO (in my opinion).

  • External Location Ship Method and Transit Time

    Hi
    I have got scenario -
1: Primary Suppliers are in APAC region.
2: They send the units to a site for consolidation
3: Based on the receiving site, east coast or west coast the lead time is different
4: If I cannot place orders to these suppliers then I can place order with local supplier and then the lead time is different
Now I have modeler following -
1: The lead time between supplier and consolidation site is in the Processing LT at ASL Level
Now the issue comes in replicating the lead time between consolidation site and the receiving site.
I can put this in Post Processing LT. But when I want to evaluate the local supplier, then the post processing LT kicks in which makes it even longer total time for local suppliers.
I am evaluating to capture this in shipping method.
But I am not finding any setup or document where I can setup Shipping Method and Lead Time between Supplier Site and Inventory Organization.
I setup a location in inventory but this location is not appearing in the Inter-Company Transit Times. I am trying with 'Extenal Location' as source.
Can you please help me on this?

  • Transit Time

    Hi,
A sales order is created on 06/10/2010 and the requested delivery date was entered as 18/10/2010. The sales order has 3 line items and all were confirmed for 18/10/2010. The route has a 1 day lead time. If I go to schedule line and view the shipping page for all 3 items, the delivery date is shown correclty as 18/10/2010. But rest all dates (Goods issue date, Loading date, Material avail.date and Transportation Plan. Date) is showing as 16/10/2010. Why there is a difference of 2 days b/w the GI date and Delivery date when the route has a lead time of only 1 day? The pick/pack, loading etc would have been already considered while determining the GI date itself wright? Is there any other time factor other than the transit time to determine the delivery date?
    Regards,
    Raghav

    Hi,
17/10/2010 is Sunday. Do you ship on Sunday ? If you would like to have goods available on MOnday and you have 1 day transit time, then they would need to leave your DC on Sunday.
    Please verify:
    1) shipping point definition and specifically factory calendar inside shipping point.
    2) route definition - there is possibility to enter factory calendar inside the route.
Change the calendar to something having 7 working days and retest.
    Best regards

  • Transit times in sales order

    Hi Gurus,
I did Route determination and also gave the transit time in delivery scheduling.
The route is determined in Sales order exactly but the transit time is not added to the confirmation date.
It is giving me the same date as it has given me without route determination.
Route is determined fine. I don't understand what might went wrong.
and sales order is set for Delivery Scheduling too.
Please let me know, if you have any answers,
    Thanks,
    Sharath.

    Hi.
go to the customizing of the shipping point (spro: enterprise struct->logistic exec->define  shipping point) and then set the following fields to A (route dependent):
    determine load time
    determine pick/pack time
also check in spro: sales->basic functions->delivery scheduling and transp. sched-.>define scheduling by sales doc. type
your order type has the field TranspSched set to X.
    reward if helpful

  • 'Transit time' not updated in Sales orders.

    Dear Experts
We have maintained '20.00' days for the Route.
Then the Sales order got created and the same route has been determined.
But while i checking the schedule line - shipping details.
The Transit time not reflected in the Sales order...
All those GI date/Loading date/MAD/TPD...etc, still the same date as Delivery date.
Hope kindly advise, why the 20 transit days not updated in Sales order??
    Thank you very much.

The delivery date will confirmed based on ur availability check .
Check ur setting for transportation planning for this .
