Salary Ranges based on Personnel Areas

Hi,
is there a way to configure a salary range for a particular job based on Personnel Area.  I know in Compensation Management you can define pay grades and level and set the min and max salary but this is based on country grouping.
Is the a way to configure so that salary range is based on personnel areas? thanks'

I am not sure if there is a way to configure a salary range for a job based on Personnel Area.
But you can validate and give a message, if the entered salary on IT0008 is with in a range based on the personnel area for the job. This can be done using User Exit EXIT_SAPFP50M_002 (ZXPADU02).

  • Posting Document Split by Personnel Area

PC00_M99_CIPE transaction has default posting variant SAP and this variant splits the posting document by based on company code.
Is there anyone who can guide me how to create new posting variant which uses the Personnel Area? Is this possible?
    Thanks in advance!

during the posting you cannot do a split.
    base is company code.
if you need a split based on personnel are you can only do this via ppmod.
because how should it look like after the posting

  • Personnel Area & sub area Creation

    Dear Gurus
Currently We have to create personnel areas for my client which belongs to manufacturing sector.
They have their  , corporate office in y place, registered office in x place , two plant locations which is situated in two other places. my question is should i make these four as personnel areas?
    subarea as department?

    Hi,
See this enterprise structure should be framed in such a manner that they doesn't sabbotage your system as they are the building blocks.
You can create them as follows in any of the manner .
Example 1: Here Corporate and Plant are treated separately for future requirements for e.g in company 1111 more corporate offices like branch & registered offices are to be mapped and in plant more plant locations need to be added , so in future if someone wants the complete data of corporate and plant then they can fetch it based on Personnel Area.
    Company Code : 1111
    1)  Personnel Area : 1000 (Corporate) ---> Personnel Subarea : 1000 (Corporate Office 1) , 1001 (Corporate Office 2)
    2 ) Personnel Area : 2000 (Plant ) -
    > Personnel Subarea : 2000 (Plant Location 1 ) , 2001 (Plant Location 2)
Example 2: +Here Corporate and Plant are considered as different locations of same company and henceforth are clubbed under one personnel area.
    Company Code : 1111
    1) Personnel Area : 1000 (Company) ---> Personnel Subarea : 1000 (Corporate) , 1001 (Plant).
Similarly you can opt for second company also . It mostly depends on how you want to group them as many of groupings are based on Personnel Area/Subarea in PY (Payroll) , TM( Time Management) and other HR modules.
Hope this answer will be useful.

  • Authorization check based on personnel sub area

    Dear experts,
I would like to know if there's a way to do the authorization checking based on personnel subarea? Currently we can perform the authorization check up to Personnel Area only in P_ORGIN.
              Please advice.
              Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Yen

The feature Administrator groups (PINCH) is designed to deal with such a situation.
    Example
Administrator A is responsible for personnel areas 1 and 2, Administrator B is responsible for the employee subgroups X and Y within personnel area 3, Administrator C is responsible for all other employee subgroups within personnel area 3.

  • HR restrictions required across personnel areas w/o structureal auths

The business has the need to restrict their HR users to a select population of users.  Example, we need to be able to exclude the Executive population.  The executive population is across multiple organizations (personnel areas) and we cannot use the employee subtgroup field to restrict on (04) for Executives because not we have some ISA's that we have coded US-ISAs so they are not reflected in the master data as (04). We have not implemented structural authorizations but I need to know if there is a means to restricting (PA20 - display of master data) on groups of associates without structural authorizations??

    Hi,
From my clients implementations so far, I have seen two approaches to restrict access to executive's PA data in PA20:
    1. Based on organizational key which can be restricted at role level via auth objects- P_ORGIN
    2. Implementing custom exit/BADI in the PA20 program  or implement customer specific auth object [P_NNNNN|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_470/helpdata/en/4e/74ba3bd14a6a6ae10000000a114084/content.htm] to additionally check authorization for a custom auth object while executing PA20 which restricts access for specific range of personnel numbers that belong to the executives.
In short, either organization key (i.e personnel area + cost center) or personnel number of executives should fall within a reserved number range which can be used to restrict the access to their PA data.
    Thanks

  • Is it possible to apply conditional formatting to a cell (or range) based upon a LOOKUP query to cell values in another sheet.? I want to alter the formatting (i.e., text and/or cell background color), but not cell content.

Is it possible to apply conditional formatting to a cell (or range) based upon a LOOKUP query to cell values in another sheet.?
I want to alter the formatting (i.e., text and/or cell background color), but not the content, of the target cell(s).

    Hi Tom,
Your LOOKUP formula will return a value that it finds in the "other" table. That value can be used in conditional highlighting rules. (Numbers 3 calls it conditional highlighting, not conditional formatting. Just to keep us awake, I guess, but it works the same).
Please explain what you are trying to do.

  • Delimit end date for pay scale salary ranges (T510N)

    Hi,
Some of the pay scale salary ranges (T510N) which we use are no longer valid and I want to delimit the end dates. Has anyone done this before ?
Appreciate if you can share the solution.
    Thanks,
    Rajesh

    Hi Sarah, Harish
    Thanks for your replies.
What I did was to copy the existing range, change enddate to 31.12.2009, and delete the old range. In the tests I have done, this seems to work. We don't use these ranges anymore but busiiness want to retain. Should not impact existing PERNR's.
    Cheers !

  • Default Payroll Area using Personnel Area

    Hi,
There is a feature called ABKRS i.e. 'Default value for payroll area'. I want to know if you can default the payroll area using personnel area / personnel sub-area because there is no field decision operation for personnel area/sub-area. Please guide me if there is any way out to it's solution.
    Thanks,
    Irfan Malik

    Hi,
There is a provision to default the payroll area based on the Personnel area. If the PA / PSA decision parameters are not available at your end you can change the settings for ABKRS feature provided you have the rights to do the same.
In PE03 for feature ABKRS, select attributes and hit Change.
There you will see a Tab as "Struct" on the bottom left.
Click it. You will see various parameters EE, ESG, PA ,PSA, etc.
Only the ones that are selected will appear as decision parameters for the tree in ABKRS.
So if PA PSA are not selected, select them, save and then activate the feature.
    Hope this helps.

    Shreyasi.

  • Sap hr problem in defining pay scale salary ranges

    hi,
    please someone help me
i am trying define pay scale salary ranges
    through
img -> personal managment -> personal administration ->
payroll data -> basic pay -> define pay scale salary ranges
when i try to define pay scale salary range on salary margins window curreny field is greyed out so how to enter currency
i want to enter INR as i am working on 40 india

    Dear Aparna,
    For your first question:
Normally currency settings are done by FI consultant & also currency always in anywhere has to be defaulted. Just cross check i think some where you did the mistake mainly in payroll we will manually maintain currency in only one table "V_T510F_B" (This is table where we will maintain manually)
    For your second question:
If your working on Implementation project it's not like where you will prepare questions and get answers from client
    1. First you need to get AS IS document from the client & need to understand their business process.
    2. According to that you will have to prepare one draft BBP then has to be shown to client.
    Major challenges are
    1. Finding PA & PSA.
    2. Finding grouping Esg grouping & PSA grouping.

    Hi Raju,
The requirement is quite generic and doesnt require any PCR .We can control it with normal Config. In SPRO> Time Management> Time data Recording and Administration--> Setting Groupings for Time Quota types -->Group Personnel SubArea for time Quota type (V_503_E)
Please set a different grouping for ur Personnel Subareas and do the config.Your issue will be resolved.
Let us know if u need any clarification.

    Here is the scenario :-
An employee was hired to a Position with personnel area  "A". In future, the Personnel area for this position is chnaged to "B". Now the PA for this person doesn't get updated automatically.
Could you suggest how do we update the PA for an employee?
    Thanks

    Hi Niharika,
If the personnel area of an employee is getting changed then that can be done by executing organisation re-assignment/ transfer action.
    Regards,
    Chetan
    Hi Niharika,
In Set up personnel actions please mark the country reassignment indicator. Hope this will work.
