Sales order for a make to order item

HI
when i create a sales order in crm for a make to order item. its not creating any requirements.
like for a make to order item  will have a BOM  and routing attached to it. it creates  a production order or a purchase requisition.  but  its not happening
a sales order is getting created in ECC. but its not creating any requirements.
so no planned order ( production order) or purchase requisition is getting created. even after running MRP.
but when i create any thing in ECC everything is working fine.

Hi,
There is a difference in the ECC sale sorder and CRM sales order in ECC sales order when you sale a product then all the parts of the product and billed and for this they create a purchace order and maitain route of the material and transpotation point all the things but in CRM we dont maintain these thing so product does have parts in it self it is one type of dummy product in showroom thata have only price so when we create a sales order in CRM then we dont maintain the BOM of that product,.

  • Release order for a stock transfer order in Product view

    Hi Experts
My question is that i cann't see Release order for a stock transfer order in Product view which are available in MD04 in R/3.
I have checked all the settings for Strategy group 50-Planning without final assembly in R/3 and Requirement type in APO. In APO I have checked requirement type and category group and I can see that in category we have defined Stock Transport Requisition, Stock Transport order,  Sales Order, TLB:VMI sales order, Replenishment delivery and VMI delivery as category.
One more thing i am not even selecting any selection profile for Product view.
What i need to check, Kindly suggest.

    Hi G.C
Check whether you have maintained correct integration model. Create integration model for transactional data. Select the sales order and PO/PR option in CFM1. The reason you need to send the sales order first when you are working with stock transfer order/stock transfer scheduling agreements you first have to send the sales order and then PO/PR. Activate the integrtion model.
First check in ECC for the Integration with Other mySAP.com Components==>Advanced Planning and Optimization==>Initial Data Transfer==>Change Transfer==>Change Transfer for Transaction Data==>Activate Online Transfer Using BTE==> here check (ND-APO, NDI options are have been checked)
Also check for the Maintenance of distribution definiton under APO -SPRO==>Integration with SAP Components==>Basic settings for data transfer==>Publication==>Maintain distribution definiton==>Select the publication type(External procurement, Delivery,Shipment) and assign to all the plants you are working with for STO.
Try the above steps and do let me know if it worked.

  • Need to run AutoCreate FInal Assembly Orders for a Set of Orders

    Hi All,
I Need to run AutoCreate FInal Assembly Orders for a Set of Orders, It can run for a Org or for a Single Order.
How to Run it for set of Orders or Batch of orders.
    Thanks & Regards

There is no seeded way to do this.
At one client, we ended up creating a wrapper that accepted more parameters; built a order header cursor and calling the AutoCreate FA Orders for each order.

  • Track po in sales order in not make to order scenario

    Hi,
There is a simple sales scenario.1. create a sales order -availability check- if there are enough stock in the storage location then the rest of the process is possible (creating outbound ,...) otherwise, the MRP should be run. 2- convert the automate PR from MRP to PO. 3- goods receipt. 4- outbound delivery and goods issue 5- invoice. This scenario with the following standard setting is okay: document type: OR, item category: TAN, schedule line: CP, requirement type: 041. But I need to track each PO number from sales order number, which is not possible with this setting and by setting requirement type as Make to order such as KEL, it converts each sales order to MRP without considering its stock in storage location. I mean it creates PR for each sales order after running MRP.
    Thanks in advance
    Nooshin

    Hi Nooshin,
First of all, could you please let us know the business background of this scenario.
SAP has formalized these scenarios to meet the business requirements only. But in your case, you wanted to blend two major scenarios and which to my knowledge not possible with the standard straight forward approach. However, it might be possible with some manual effort - may be by exploring the options of fetching the data from various tables.

  • Re Sales order stock in make-to-order scenario

    Hi
While doing make-to-order scenario after doing production order confirmation for the raw material the reserved stock is reduced but sales order stock is not reduced. how to solve this.
    Thanks
    Antony

    Dear,
If you are using strategy 20 then please note,
You also must maintain the following master data settings for the finished product:
Strategy group 20 on the MRP screen
Item category group (such as NORM) on the Sales Organization screen
Sales Order -> MRP -> Customer Stock Finished Product -> Delivery -
    +
       ^                                                                                |
       |                                                                                |                                                --      Reduction--
Goods Issue for Delivery and Reduction of Planned Independent Requirements
After goods issue for the delivery (choose Logistics -- Sales and distribution -- Shipping --Delivery --Create), the stock/requirements list is reset

  • Customer number not in the inspection lot for a make to order scenario

    Hi All,
I know that standard SAP will get the Customer number into Insp. lot only for insp. types 10/11/12.  I am wondering if someone know a way to get the customer no. into insp. lot for insp. type 04 where the material is make-to-order scenario and the Production/Process order has the Sales order and customer no. without activating User-exit.  The quality users want to be able to see the customer no. in insp. lot without having them to go to process order.
It makes no sense to me why the customer no. is not brought into insp. lot when that is available in the Prod/process order, which can further be used to select the customer specific insp. plans for 04 insp. type Insp. lot without using Variant configuration.
Any light on this topic is appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi Srikant,
    I guess.........
Normally the inspection lot refers the triggering document that are the trigger cause for them.
    - Inspection type 01: - Purchase Order and GR material document.
    - Inspection type 03: - Pro. Order Number
    The same way...
The inspection type 10\11\12 are purely related to the SD, and directly integrates QM and SD. Hence in the inspection lot for the inspection types directly integrated to SD, it will furnish the Sales order number \ Customer.
But the inspection type 04 is purely have it's relation to Production process. So it will have the details related to integrations it has i.e. the "Pro. Order." Hence it integrates QM-PP, it have the data related to PP (Pro Order), not the SD's one.
But I think one way you can achieve it,
Assign the Customer number also to the inspection plan along with the Material. So I think at the time of assigning the inspection plan to the inspection lot, it will refer the Customer number also and will display the Customer number along with Task list Group\Group Counter, in the inspection specification screen in QA03/02

  • How to cummulate sales orders for creating one planned order.

    Hello friends,
My scenario is make to stock. I use sales orders for creating plan only. I want to cummulate all sales orders of one finish material and create one planned order  for that material when i run mrp. How can i do this?
    Thanks

    Kiran,
What is the planning strategy you are using?
Does all the sales order requirment same? If it is same then it is possible. Please explain more in details. If not you need to look at using some perodic lotsize procedure to combine requirments. Like "Daily", Weekly" "Month" etc..

    Hello everybody
I want to make a different, in MD04,   between the planned order for stock and the planned order created for a customer requirement
    Thank for your help

    Hi,
True planned order are generated for both the cases but the planned order generated for sales order will have sales order number in the below column and for stock will show independent requirement. Mainly no sales order reference will be there for make to stock scenario.

  • Is Order to Cash = Make to Order?

    Hi,
    I have one query about:
Is order to cash is same as Make to order ? or it is totally different functionality. I couldnt find any good resource in std SAP for order to cash but in business languuage(Job requirement, etc) there is always mentionied as Order-to-Cash.
    pl guide.
I'd appreciate if anybody have good document for Order-to-cash functionality.
    Thanks,
    Roopan.

Order to Cash cycle is a comprehensive process which encompass broadly Order management, invoicing, collections/credit management, cash application and sometimes relating to posting and reporting.
Traditional production systems produce products and stock them as inventory until they are sold (make-to-stock). In order to reduce inventory and increase the level of customization, some firms have designed their production systems to produce a product only after it is ordered. Such systems are referred to as make-to-order.
    hope this calrifies ur doubt.
reward points if it is helpfull

  • Make to order item

    Hi Experts,
I want to create Make-to-order.but when I entering material, it is showing an error message "item category can not determined...". I also created material with item category group(0001-make to order). should I enter item category manually in the sales order for the make-to-order item? I also created material (MM01) with Industry sector-mechanical engineering and material type- semi finished material. should I select finished product here? Please advice me.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
The item category determination in VOV4 needs to be done for the combination Sales order type /Item category group (here - 0001/- / - = TAK.
Also check Setting of TAK (MTO item) in VOV7 and maintain VOV5 and determine Schedule line Category CP .
Then Punch the Order VA01 with the MTO item category which you have maintained in MM01.

  • Planning of Dependent Requirements for BOM Components in Make to Order scen

Hi Friends - I want to execute a full cycle Make to Stock Scenario with Materials planning using MRP.
The scenario will include BOM Components with Routing.
The process flow I want to execute -
    1. Create a Sales Order for a Finished Product (Product should have a BOM for Production)
    2. Do the product Materials Planning for the Sales Order through MD50
    3. Get all the dependent material requirements (both for products as Planned Order and also for BOM Components - all the BOM components should also be planned)
    4. Convert Planned Order for Product to Production Order
    5. Convert Planned Orders for BOM components to Purchase Requisition
    6. Confirm Production Order
To execute this I have done the following
    1. I have created a Material Master data for Finished Product (FERT).
    2. I have assigned Item Category Group - NORM, and General Item Category group as NORM
    3. I have assigned MRP Type PD in MRP 1 View and Strategy Group 20 (Make to Order Production) in MRP 3 View.
    4. Now created a Universal (Type 3) BOM for the product with one material component.
    5. Now also created a Routing for the Material with two operations having PP01 a control key.
    6. Now created a standard sales order for the product.
    7. Executed the MD50 for the Sales Order Item.
Now where do I find the BOM components for this material in the Sales Order?
After executing the planning Run MD50 I am only getting the requirements for Product only. I can't see any dependent requirements for the BOM components.
How do I make sure that the BOM components are also planned while the product is planned?
I have checked the component Stock Requirement List - there are no requirements generated from the Sales Order Product BOM.
Pls help me on this. How to do this so that the raw material components are also planned?
    Thanks
    Purnendu

Hi Dhaval, Sandeep, Ashok - Thanks a lot for your replies.
I have checked the Planned Order Created through Planning Run.
If I click on the Components Tab I am getting following message
    No material components were determined
    Message no. 61027
    Diagnosis
Until now, no BOM explosion has been carried out or no BOM has been created for this material yet.
    Procedure
Either explode the bill of material for this material, or
create the components manually by processing the planned order in change mode.
If I try to explode the BOM through Header Menu - Edit> Explode BOM
I am getting the same message.
If I click on the Bill of Material Tab - I am getting the same above messge.
Ashok - I have tried both the Selection Method -
Nil - Selection by Order Quant.
1 - Selection by Explosion Date
    But with no effect.
    Waiting for your advice.
    Thanks and warm regards

  • Problem with Make to Order sales order

    Hi,
We are facing a problem with sales order which has Make to order item catagory, Rescheduling is not happening for the sales order of this type. However, we have taken up this issue with SAP and SAP has replied that MTO sales order are Excluded from rescheduling program.  SAP has suggested us to use CO28 to reschedule the Production order so that the changes can effect the corrorsponding sales order.
We have observed that when sales order is created with MTO item category, production order is automatically created but when we see the Requirement list in MD04 for the material there is an Exception message as '20' (Cancel process).  After the production order is confirmed and goods reciept has done the quantity confirmed against the sales order is becoming ZERO and hence we could not able to create delivery for the sales order.
We kindly request you to help us in this regard. This is creating a big problem for our business.
    Thanks counting on your support.
    Warm Regards,

    Dear ,
Did you check any sales order reference in your production order assingment tab? Did you check the cost roll up in sales order level based on the BOM and Routung created for dt FG?
I believe the link between Sales Order and Production order lies in requirement Type and Requirement Class  in define planning strategy .
Check in you make to order planning stratgey -SPRO-Define Planning Strategy -Make To Order .Here you should keep the correct Requirement type for customer(OVZH)  and requirement class (OVZG).
    Check and revert

  • What are configuration steps in implementation for make to order?

please give the steps for normal production also.

    Hi,
    Below is the requested info:
    Make-to-Order (MTO) Production
    Purpose
The planning strategies explained in this section are designed for the production of a material for a specific individual sales order. In other words, you do not want to produce finished products until you receive a sales order. This means that make-to-order strategies always support a very close customer-vendor relationship, because your sales orders are closely linked to production.
The same relationship exists between the sales order and production that exists in a make-to-order environment. Make-to-order is also used in the following environments.
    Production using variant configuration
    Assemble-to-order
    Prerequisites
    Choose a make-to-order strategy, if:
The materials are segregated. In other words, they are uniquely assigned to specific sales orders.
Costs must be tracked at sales order level and not on material level.
Make-to-order strategies should always be combined with lot-size key EX (lot-for-lot. Rounding values should not be used. If you maintain rounding values, they have no effect due to the make-to-order properties of these strategies.
    Process Flow:
There are extensive options that enable you to procure components especially for specific sales order items.
You may, however, want to use a different planning strategy to procure components without sales orders. This allows you to keep your replenishment lead time to a minimum. You can do this by:
Planning on the basis of the finished product (see Planning Without Final Assembly (50) or Planning with a Planning Material (60))
Planning at component level (see Strategies for Planning Components)
    Using consumption-based or Kanban-controlled components
Customer stock can exist on any BOM level. See Stockkeeping at Different BOM Levels for more information.
Because production is closely linked to sales orders, this results in a customer section in the stock/requirements list.
Unplanned goods receipts (such as returns) cannot, as a rule, be used for other sales orders, even if they are in working order, unless they are adapted to meet a customer's needs.
In the basic make-to-order strategy, Make-to-Order Production (20), no specific product structures are required. This means that it does not matter if the material has a BOM or not. The material can be produced in-house, or it can be procured externally. No planning is involved in this strategy.
Planning Without Final Assembly (50) and Planning with a Planning Material (60) do require a specific product structure (i.e. a BOM, which means materials are always produced in-house). These planning strategies assume that you want to plan procurement (production or purchasing) of your components by planning the finished products. This means that you need to have a fairly stable demand for your finished products. If, however, you can plan more easily at component level than at finished product level, see Strategies for Planning Components.
    Configuration Settings:
Create material master by maintaining general item category group- 0001(make to order)
    Availability check - 02
    Transportation Group - 0001
go to va01 and raise sales order
    item category:TAk
    Schedule line category : cp
    Requirement type KE
    Requirement class 040
    Check TOR and avalability check
    special stock : E
    VOV7
    of TAK
    billing relivence : A
    Pricing :X
    go to mb1c
maintain stock with a special stock indicator E
    mavement type 61
    Special stock E
specify sales order number line item number and saveit
    go to VL01N main data
    Go to VF01
    save it
    Thanks
