Sample Management

Hi,
I have to create a number of physical samples based on quantity entered. The materials are managed in PZ (UM). In particular, the rule is:
2-50 pz -> 2 fisical sample
51-500 pz -> 3 fisical sample
501 - 35000 -> 5 fisical sample
> 35000 - 8 fisical sample
Each sample must have the sample size 1 PZ.
Example:
GR = 40 pz --> I have to create 2 samples:
200000375 - sample size 1pz
200000376 - sample size 1 pz
GR= 65pz --> I have to create 3 samples:
200000377 - sample size 1 pz
200000378 - sample size 1pz
200000379 - sample size 1 pz
I tried using sempling scheme but I can only set sample size and not the number of samples. As with Sample-drawing procedures I can't define a correct formula for this case.
You can help me to solve this problem?
Thanks!
G

Hi,
I created the following Sample scheme : code: TXT
Valuation parameters: without valuationPars
Sampling tables for: Insp. severities
Inspection severity 004
sampling Plans:
Lot size     |   Sample Size
50                  2
500                3
3500              5
99999999      8
Then I assigned this Sample scheme TXT to Sample-Drawing procedure:
Tab primary sample:
Acc to sampling scheme TXT
inspection severity: 004
If I make an goods Receipt of 50 pieces, The system successfully created 2 samples, each 1 piece.
But if I receipt 60 pieces, the system creates 2 samples as the previous case ( the number correct is 3 sample). The same with 200 pieces.
This solution does not solve my problem.

  • Sample management during inwarding

    Hi,
I am having a scenarion where MM and QM integration is needed. I am inwarding a material with batch management and along with each batch, I will receive a fixed quantity of sample in separate box. There will be separate sample box for each batch of that inwarding material.
Also I need to track that sample separately and needs to store it for future reference. I mean, sample for all batches I received for that above said Material. How can I do this?
    Example:
    Material- ABC,
    Batches are ABCX1, ABCX2, ABCX3..
    Thanks
    Vineeth Varghese

For this you can also use Physical sample ( inspection type 15) .
Sample management :The Quality Management (QM) application component includes comprehensive functions for processing and managing physical samples during  goods receipt and  production. The Sample Management component supplements the existing QM functions for processing samples by allowing you to:
Identify physical samples on the basis of unique, client-wide keys
Record inspection results for physical samples
Manage the physical-sample data in the system
store and retail sample for a duration.
After you process/receive sample from vendor you can create manual lot of origin 15 in QPR1.

  • Slightly OT: Audio File Engineering Sample Manager

    Hi All,
This is slightly OT, I've been looking for a better SRC converter, and did some research and found http://www.audiofile-engineering.com/sample_manager.php Sample Manager. It uses iZotope 64-bit SRC http://www.izotope.com/tech/src/ for sample rate conversion, indications are that it is better than Peak Pro, and in fact is so clean in its conversion from 96 to 44.1 it's scary.
I wanted to know if anyone here has used it. I would like to use it for sample conversion when I get some tracks ready for CD. I don't want to do the sample conversion in WaveBurner I've seen the reports on its aliasing and the results are kinda scary. I do want to use WaveBurner to glue the final pieces together before I send it to mastering house.
Your thoughts on this converter are appreciated. They only want $70.00 for it for a short period of time. It works incredibly well on Intel Macs, seems to use all processors to do its sample rate convert. Uses Automator so you can batch convert a bunch of stuff and even apply various AU plugs if you want as well.
Thanks in advance for indulging me
    R

I did look at WE as well, and it doesn't have batch processing, I am not so much interested in audio editing, the facilities in logic are enough for what I do right now, at least I'm used to it and logic does it well.
I do want to use Wave Burner once I do my sampling rate conversion, I think Wave Burner is first class for everything except sampling rate conversion.
Here's wishing apple will license SRC in the future from iZotope and include it in any updates which may happen. I fact I am going to go post the suggestion right now.

  • Sample management with in-process inspection

i need to know why must we assign inspection points when we use sample management in an in-process inspection ?

    Hi,
[Kindly refer the link herewith|Inspection point] wherein the importance of inspection point is mentioned.
In simple words, inspection point determines what system should do to proceed the inspection.
I mean if you will enter 100 (STD SAP), system will plan the inspection, UD , Quality score procedure etc etc according to the freely defined inspection points.
Now say if you enter 200 (STD SAP) there, then system will go in the direction of Samples, means will generate Physical Sample (Numbers), Samples size, will fetch these data to UD and stock posting screen also, then calculate the Quality score, etc etc.
If you will enter it time based inspection point then system will drive the entire inspection lot accordingly.
Now these is the straight and written explanation to your answer.
Means If there is inspection point as 200--->there will be need  of SDP, Sampling procedure, etc
But in same manner it is applicable in reverse order also, i.e. If you wanna go with SDP,Sampling procedure (SAMPLE Mgmt) then, inspection point there must be maintained accordingly.

  • Serial number in sample management

    Dear gurus
Can I use serial number in sample management to maintain the uniqueness of the sample.
    Kindly help
    Thanks
    MK

    1.In the task list
    a) define the sample drawing procedure. In sample drawing procedure you have to define the type of sample you needed.
    b) in the header below sample drawing procedure ,define the Inspection point based on the sample mgt.
c)At the char level define the sampling procedure for each char/mic.
Now activate the serial number profile in the Material master as per normal procedure.
Make sure that you active the serial number tick in the inspection setup.
This will create the samples &  you can do the RR ,defect recording as per the serial number & sample mgt.
I hope this will add some value

  • Sample management & Sample determination

    Hello Experts,
What is the difference between Sample determination and Sample management in Quality Management?
Please explain this with the simple example for better understanding.
    Thanks in advance,
    Anitha Pauline

Sample determination we define the following parameters,
Sampling types - Rules for determining the sampling instruction, The sampling type defines the basic conditions for determining the sample size for each inspection characteristic. A distinction is made between certain basic forms, such as:
    100% inspection
    Fixed sample
    Percentage sample
Sample according to the sampling scheme
Adapt Rules for Sample Determination :To define or adapt the rules for determining samples, integrate the function module responsible for determining the sampling plan in your system. These rules form part of the function that supports the sampling type and are therefore dependent on the same parameters as this sampling type.
Sampling ProcedureA sampling procedure defines the rules that specify how the system calculates the sample size and it contains information about the valuation of an inspection characteristic during results recording (attributive, variable, manual, etc.).
Sampling procedures are usually used at characteristic level of a task list or material specification. You can however determine the sample size, without reference to task lists. To do this, you define a sampling procedure in the settings at plant level or for the inspection type in the material master.

  • Quality Inspections Using WM Without Physical Sample Managment

I have configured the system to not use physical sample managment.  Warehouse Management is being implemented.  When the WM personnel perform a goods receipt and subsequently confirm open transport orders using LT04, a pop-up window to Process QM Inspection Lot requesting where to place the sample quantity appears.  The business wants the sample quantity to always remain with the stock.  How can I get rid of this request to specify where the sample quantity should be placed when I am not using physical sample management?

    hi allen,
why don;t you directly put the materail in final detination after goods receipt .
after goods receipt matl will be placed in interim storage type 902 and after confirming the transfer order the material will be placed in final destination .
In the system (stock overview) material will be shown in under inspection but material will be lying in the same location .
the sample should be removed from final destination and after perform the UD. after comletion of UD if material is ok then accept the material which will change the status of the material from quality inspection to unrestricted stock in the system but material will be lying the same location .
in this case you don;t have to keep the material in quality interim storage location for the sample approval.which will definitely save your time ,space & effort.

  • Sample Management during goods receipt

    Hello All,
I have a scenario where a goods receipt inspection is active for material X. Inspection type 01 can be activated and material goes to inspection stock.
But instead of moving all the quantity can i move sample from the quantity..?
Ex: good receipt- X material 100 kg and i want only 30 gm to come to inspection stock for quality check (to avoid blockage of 100 kg)
I have maintained inspection type 15 for material X, but how to calculate 30 gm sample..?

  • SAMPLE MANAGEMENT  PROCESS

    Dears
After creating inspection lot for physical sample (inspection type:15)
what are the process involved till the end
whether this material will be posted as original material in stock if it is approved
    Faisal

    Hi Faisal,
1.once the sample has approved by QM they want to put it into stock as a original material
Does it means you don't want to post the GR till the sample is approved?
If yes then I will surrender, I have not come across such scenario and I don't think that System will allow to create inspection lot w/o posting the goods receipt.
    But
What you can do is, you can create a manual physical sample and inspection lot for that sample (Same as you did in ur last post, regarding inspection lot with 15) And after Valuating the inspection lot of 15 only you post the goods receipt.
Now whenever inspection lot with origin 01,04,08 ...... will be created for this material, you should assign above inspection plan to this lot, then go to Sample tab in inspection plan and get the status of inspection lot as REL.
By this what I wanted say is,
    Pre-Requisites:-
    1. In material master activate respective inspection type, with Task List assignment.
    2. Create a Sample Drawing Procedure (QPV2)
    3. Create a Sampling Procedure (QDV1)
    4. Create Inspection plan for the material, assign the Sample Drawing procedure at Header level & Sampling procedure at MIC level.
    Now
When ever you will post GR ,,,,
Against Purchase Order then system will create inspection lot with inspection type 01
Against Process Order then system will create inspection lot with inspection type 04
Perform Stock Posting then system will create inspection lot with origin 08
Here to any one of the scenario, go to QA02 for the inspection lot and assign the Inspection lot and then Go to Sample tab and click on Sample button,
Here system will calculate the Sample Size and will create the Physical Samples Automatically (No need to create them manually)
then Go ahead with Result recording and UD.
The moral is, the inspection will be carried out against Physical samples only.
    Regards,
    Shyamal

  • Sample managment and quality info record

    Experts
I have a scenario like below
If my physical sample was approved (inspection type 15) by a usage decision
i need system should create a automatic quality info record for this material and vendor combination
    How can be possible
pls give me some details step
    Faisal

In the selected set of Usage decision there is provision of followup action.
In followup action customization you can create you own function module.
In this customized function module you can call program RQBAAM10 in the background to create quality infor record.
But here you have to make sure that you should have "control key " in place for that material -plant combination.
you can also explore Function module QINF_WRITE_DOCUMENT

For that number of sections, you may want to consider leveraging an MVC framework like Mate ( http://mate.asfusion.com/ ). Mate (and, in general, most MVC frameworks) is more about application structure than application layout, but it provides some really useful guidelines for organizing your code for maintainability and testability. Mate even has a Google Code project of example applications: http://code.google.com/p/mate-examples/ .

  • How do you store QM samples in inventory management?

    Hi all,
We've managed to set up QM sample management so the system automatically creates physical samples, prints labels for these samples, and in WM even post the samples to a separate bin from the remaining inspection lot quantity (yeah!).
However, samples are physically stored outside the warehouse and here's the problem:  the UD still posts the samples to IM unrestricted stock and it becomes available for MRP and ATP - which could be a problem if we're almost out of stock.
So, we're looking for a way to have the system post the sample quantity to IM reserved stock automatically.  Example: when making the UD you see in the movement tab: Insp lot size 10 pcs, samples 2 -> when approving we want the system to automatically move 2 to reserved stock and 8 to unrestricted stock.
    Thanks,
    Elt

    Hi,
I am not sure about you exavt requirement.but just I think if you want system should prapose 2 QTY to as sample qty then in MIC control indicator keep destructive check box on.
& also sample size give 2 QTY.
So when you will give UD in stock posting tab system will prapose 2 QTy against sample & 8 Qty against unrestricted.
If you automatic stock posting then when you create Code ( Which is you are using in selection set T Code QS51 ) in posting praposal give auatmatic UD .
So that when you will give UD system will autamatically post 8 Qty to unrestricred & 2 Qty to sample.

  • Quality management( difference between sampling procedure & sample drawing)

    Hi Experts,
I am very new to quality management module & working in united states. i am trying to find difference between sampling procedure & sample drawing procedure.
I see that sample drawing procedure is assigned to Inspection Plan & sampling procedure is assigned to characteristics, But i don't know the difference between these two, Please help me.
    Regards,
    Seshu

    Hi,
    SAMPLING PROCEDURE :
A procedure that contains the rules for determining the sample size for an inspection. The sampling procedure also specifies the type of valuation to use for results recording (attributive, variable, or manual).
    Use
You assign a sampling procedure to each characteristic in an inspection plan to calculate the sample size.
    Integration
In a sampling procedure, you must activate the function for inspection points based on a sample-drawing procedure if you assigned a sampling procedure and a sample-drawing procedure to an inspection plan at the characteristic and header levels respectively.
    SAMPLE DRAWING PROCEDURE:
    Definition
A master data object in which you plan the drawing of physical samples. In the sample-drawing procedure, you specify:
Which categories of physical samples must be drawn
How many physical samples must drawn
The size of each physical sample
Whether the drawing of physical samples must be confirmed
    Use
The system uses the information in the sample-drawing procedure together with the information in the inspection plan to calculate the physical sample sizes, and to create physical-sample records when an inspection lot is created.
    Structure
A sample-drawing procedure contains the following types of information:
    Header data
The sample drawing header contains the following information fields and control indicators:
Key that identifies the sample-drawing procedure
Short text description for the sample-drawing procedure
Authorization group that limits the access to the sample-drawing procedure
    Text for matchcode searches
    Long text indicator
Indicator for calculating the number of physical samples on the basis of number of containers in the inspection lot (as opposed to the base unit of measure)
Confirmation indicator to activate or deactivate the confirmation requirement
Lock indicator to prevent the sample-drawing procedure from being used
Usage indicator that shows whether the sample-drawing procedure is currently used in an inspection plan
    Sample-drawing item(s)
A sample-drawing item contains specific instructions for creating physical samples with respect to a specific inspection lot container type and specific partial-sample numbers in the inspection plan. In a sample-drawing item, you can also specify:
Which categories of physical samples you want to create (primary samples, pooled samples, and reserve samples)
The physical sample container you use to draw each category of physical sample
A factor to increase the quantity of physical samples to be created (for example, if you need to carry out more than one inspection)
The number of physical samples to be created (fixed number or variable number based on a sampling scheme)
    Integration
The sample-drawing procedure interacts with the following planning objects:
    Inspection plan
You assign a sample-drawing procedure to an inspection plan to activate the functions for sample management.
    Sampling scheme (optional)
If you want the system to determine the number of physical samples automatically on the basis of a sampling scheme, you can reference sampling schemes in a sample-drawing procedure.
    Hope it helps...

    Priyanka.P

    Snippet from the link below:
If you get a “404: Not Found” error, it ‘s because by default there is no script map for .svc file with default IIS 7.0 installation, so you need to register .svc extension in IIS:
You need to update IIS script maps to register .svc extension In a command prompt (ran as administrator), execute the following command:
