SAP SolMan ChaRM Actions

Dear Experts,
I've just finished configuring Z transaction types for ChaRM.
During my test for each different type, all worked fine.
Now, after finished everything, I got errors on my Z Change Request when a simple action is performed.
The actions only change User Status, no actions or conditions are attached to any status of the Z Change Req.
The error I always get is 'An action was terminated due to an exceptional situation.' and the more detailed I find is 'CX_SOCM_PRECONDITION_VIOLATED'.
The application log (SLG1) doesn't provide me much more info.
Does anyone has an idea how to fix this?
Any help is appreciated...
Best regards,
Roel

Hi,
remember to cleanup the PPF actions
Txcode: SPPFCADM --> Select the Clean Up Inconsistencies options and pres Clean Up..
This help me more than once. Is useful when you have issues with the PPF actions :-)

  • Is transport possible w/o implementing Solman Charm

Is transport in satellite system can be managed by solman w/o implementing Solman Charm? If so then how..it can be activated. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello Dhananjay,
Are you refering to TMS, started with transaction STMS?
    That is actually Basis.
However what you might be looking for is CTS+ (Change and Transport System) that can be intergrated with ChaRM, but doesn't need to be.
HEre is a link to best practices for implementing CTS+: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/10456aac-44f7-2a10-1fbe-8b7bcd7bcd58?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
And here is a link to configuring CTS+ in Solution Manager : /people/dolores.correa/blog/2009/06/05/cts-configuration-in-solution-manager-70-ehp1

unable to delete Role from User ID in SAP SOLMAN production system but able to from DEV with the same authorization, pls suggest

    Hi,
For SU01 role removal, you do not need S_USER_AGR with 02, and as you mentioned both authorizations available in production, if so trace should not show you the S_USER_AGR with 02 with RC=04.
I would recommend to do role comparison for the user performing the activity. and then check if you have the S_USER_AGR with 02 in user buffer SU56.
But ideally it should not ask you S_USER_AGR for 02 through SU01, so please take help of abaper to debug it.
Also put trace in non-prd to see if S_USER_AGR is getting checked with 02 for removal through SU01.

  • SAP SOLMAN 7.1 error in ATM for DBACOCKPIT

    Hi Experts,
My client's SAP Solution Manager 7.1 has been displaying the error message - "Error in RDI back-end setup occured!", since last one week. I am unable to analyze this to resolution, as there is nothing I couldn't find closely relative in the standard database SAP Sybase 15.7. ASE server configuration guides or in the SCN itself for that matter, which would help me resolve this bugging error.
I have also checked in system logs but have always found different types/varieties of database errors everyday. I am attaching the error screenshots for your kind reference and consideration. Kindly note that I have worked on most databases previously in an efficient manner except for Sybase ASE, which is relatively new to me.
When I click on repair, I am getting the following error, which my SAP Basis PM/lead has told me its a generic error.
Upon clicking on yes, I am getting the unavoidable error shown below -
The error is - "Error in RDI back-end setup occured!", as i have stated above.
I have checked the ATM logs and history and they are fine. I am getting error only in the ATM queue as shown below -
I am also getting the same database errors in event viewer as to those in the system logs for SAP SOLMAN 7.1 server.
I would appreciate it very much if one of the Sybase experts would help me out here. Speaking of technical configuration for any database in conceptual terms, I perceive this error to be a space issue as mentioned in the ATM queue. I believe I have provided sufficient details. The OS here is the Windows server 2008 R2 version.
Kindly mention if you need more details for a speedy and possible error analysis and resolution
This is an emergency task for me as I need to resolve it on ASAP basis. Rest assured, points for all right answers will be awarded generously.
    Thanks and regards,
    M. Nizam

    Hi Nizam,
Please share what is the database patch level for Sybase ASE 15.7
Additionall please review below SAP notes

SYB: DBA Cockpit Correction Collection SAP Basis 7.02 / 7.30
1920025 DBACOCKPIT - Error 'Repair ATM' when started from different systems
    Hope this helps.

  • SAP Solman Installation

I need to install SAP Solman 7 + EHP1; AS ABAP +DB on one server and java on other server, based on Windows 2K3 Ent Server 64bit and Oracle 10.2. This is because of the limited hardware resources on a single server.
Is it mandatory to have ABAP and JAVA on same box with Solman ? I know you can add dialog instances later.
When I try to install using sapinst --> SAP Systems --> --> --> Oracle and Central System; it asks me for Java component. It does not proceed further unless I mention the java export location. Same happens if I select a distributed installation ?
Can someone please help me understand this behavior ?
    Thanks,

For Solution Manager it's not possible to separate ABAP + Java due to technical restrictions.

  • Migration SAP SolMan 7.1 MSSQL 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition to MSSQL Standard Edition

    Hello,
I try to migrate a SAP SolMan 7.1 on Windows MSSQL 2008 R2 ENTERPRISE EDITION to
    MSSQL 2008 R2 STANDARD EDITION.
In the source system (MSSQL 2008 R2 ENTERPRISE EDITION) there is "table compression" and
    "partitioning" active.
the MSSQL STANDARD EDITION doesn`t support these two features.
So a normal DB backup on the source system and restore in the destination system is not possible.
But the tables compression I can deactivte by the SQL script
    SELECT DISTINCT ‘ALTER TABLE [' + SCHEMA_NAME(schema_id) + '].[' + NAME + '] REBUILD PARTITION = ALL WITH (DATA_COMPRESSION = NONE);’
    FROM sys.partitions p
    join sys.objects o
    on p.object_id = o.object_id
    WHERE o.TYPE = ‘u’
    and data_compression_desc != ‘NONE’
    UNION
    SELECT ‘ALTER INDEX ALL ON [' + SCHEMA_NAME(schema_id) + '].[' + NAME + '] REBUILD PARTITION = ALL WITH (DATA_COMPRESSION = NONE);’
    FROM sys.partitions p
    join sys.objects o
    on p.object_id = o.object_id
    WHERE o.TYPE = ‘u’
    and data_compression_desc != ‘NONE’
is there a way to undo or deactivate the the SQL table partitioning without any data lost ?
Or is there a other way to migrate a SAP SolMan 7.1 form MSSQL 2008 R2 ENTERPRISE EDITION to MSSQL 2008 R2 STANDARD EDITION ?

  • Multiple clients on one instance of SAP SolMan

    Hello,
I have doubt about the conductibility of SAP Solution Manager to support more than one client, as an example, ones for Development and the other for production. I think that the limitation is due to the Java side which does not allow to perform more than one client.
Up to know, I have browsed SAP Solution documents and have not found any indication about this kind of restriction, more than 1 client per instance of SAP SolMan.
Look forward in hearing from your insight comments.

Additional clients can be created if desired
So I don't see an issue...but i would not recommend it...

  • Using SolMAn / ChaRm for upgrade to ECC6

    Good Day;
We are planning on using SolMan / ChaRm for our upgrade from 4.6C to ECC6 and I am wondering if it would be possible to do the following
Upgrade a development system to ECC6.
Define 2 virtual ECC6 Systems, 1 for the QA system and 1 for the production system
Create a project that contains all the business processes and has the above landscape assigned. This project does not have ChaRM active.
Create a maintenance cycle with the above landscape attached and ChaRM active.
As we upgrade the real QA and production systems to ECC6, we want to u201Cflip outu201D the virtual systems for the u201Crealu201D ECC6 systems.
Does anyone have any input in this type of plan?

  • SolMan ChaRM - System landscape not ready yet

    Hi all,
We are configuring ChaRM for an implementation use, therefore all the systems are not set up yet.
Is it possible in SolMan to define logical component without "real" systems ?
We saw that in STMS it was possible to create virtual systems, but how do we link these virtual systems to SolMan ChaRM ?
Is it possible to define a virtual system landscape and to build and configure ChaRM scenario with this ?
Thanks a lot for all your help,
    Regards.

Yes, it is possible to define a development system and virtual systems (Q- and P-System).
Via transaction SMSY you can describe the planned Q- and P-System at first as 'virtual'.
Create transport routes with transport buffers as you would do for existing systems.
Define the buffers as they should be named in future.
For experimental purposes we connected our IDES-System to our development SolMan system.
In this environment we could map such a ChaRM-configuration.
In the meantime we practiced it in our production SolMan system, too.
    Best regards

Have you reported the correct program name?
According my information, "RDSVASAEA_ROOT_____________061" has not been created (nor shipped to customers).
You stated, that the recommended SAP Note did not help. I would suggest to request help from SAP Support via a customer message on SV-SMG-SDD.

  • Timeout parameter in SolMan-ChaRM

    Hi,
I need to know the parameter which decides the timeout for tcode SM_CRM in SolMan 7.1
the ABAP gui closes after about 5 mins of inactivity whereas the web browser of tcode SM_CRM remains open for long time(about 1 hour)
What are the parameters which decide these timeouts for both ABAP gui as well as web browser in SolMan Charm System.
The reason behind the need to know this is the java threads in our systems are all getting consumed resulting in JAVA stack getting crashed.
We suspect the SM_CRM is the culprit as it remains open for long time and this tcode is being used widely in our project.
    OS : AIX
    DB : oracle
    -Ujjwal

Assuming you are talking about the timeout value for the web interface, it is in the {installdir}/ocas/conf/ocwc.conf file. The parameter you want to change is ssn_timeout. I believe you will need to restart ocas to make it effective.

someone knows how can i create this secure store files manually ?

    Dear Pedro,
thank you very much for quick answer. Perhaps do you know exactly which tool were it, please?
My situation is: I have created system copy and try to start j2ee engine in the second(new) system and it doesn't work.
I search for jlaunch with ps-ef | grep jl and can't find any j2ee processes. I see  ERROR 66 with description the "old" instance parameters from master system before it's copy in the file dev_bootstrap.
Do you know something about it, please ?

  • OSS functionality and synchronization of data with SAP SOLMAN 4.0

    Hi experts,
I would like to enable the OSS functionality in our SAP SOLMAN 4.0.
I need a document for the settings to activate the OSS functionality.
I am looking forward to hearing from you,
    Thanks alot.
    Tolga AKINCI

If your system has more than one IP/multiple network cards, take care, that not the wrong addresse is sent to OSS.
We have had quite big trouble last month, when our configuration in OSS got overwritten by wrong IPs, the system was unaccessible and thus support could not access our systems and eventually payroll run one day later and ~ 600 people were angry.
Our connection was working the last 10 years so nobody came to the idea, that SolMan is the root cause. Since there´s no option to choose, which IP is finally sent to OSS but only a "manual coding" (note 1050693 - Several IP addresses when you synchronize system data) we decided finally to delete all systems/solutions from SMSY.
So be VERY careful what you synchronize.
@Rüdiger: I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I got hit just too often with that SolMan things, spent hours and hours because SAPs "labour" environments are clean and tidy. I can just warn people out of my experiences to use too much "automatisms" before any harm is done (and yes, we got substantial harm, not only virtually and in the mind but also $$$).
