How to install latest AIR SDK (13 or 14) in Flash Pro CS6?
Hi, I'm using Adobe Flash Pro CS6 on Windows 7 64-bit and I wanted to add latest Adobe AIR SDK, either 13 or 14, but non of them is seen as a valid SDK by Flash.
I've tried downloading two possible SDKs (SDK & compiler and SDK without compiler) from here: Download Adobe AIR SDK (version 13) and here http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/air.html (version 14). Each time I copied the extracted SDK folder to my Flash CS6 folder where default 3.2 and 3.4 SDKs are located. After that I open Flash, then Help > Manage Air SDK, click on " + ", browse for the new folder, and all I get is "The selected folder does not contain a valid AIR SDK" warning message. It all looks the same with all four SDKs I downloaded!
Not long ago I added AIR 4.0 without any problems. What am I doing wrong? Is new SDK Flash CC only or what?What are you naming the folder?
Just as a general tip, since many applications (Flash CS4, 5, 5.5, 6, CC) you can save some space by only putting the AIR SDK in one place. Since CS6 and CC have "Manage AIR SDK" in their settings you no longer need to locate that folder like 5.5 which requires you to overlay the AIR 2.6 folder. So save some space and put it anywhere out of the way, out of the Flash folder. I have multiple drives and I have lots of SDKs installed at root on my E:\ (E:\SDK\AIR, E:\SDK\JDK, E:\SDK\Android, etc). I then just go in the help panel like you do and point CS6 and CC to E:\SDK\AIR and they work perfectly fine with the latest SDK released recently.
Are you updating Flash Player to 13 as well?
Last, do not download the Flex version for Flash. Flex is for Flash Builder if you intend on using Flex (it is different than Flash).
Do not get this:
You want the SDK from the big orange buttons above this warning. -
Using a CWM format XML as datastore; COM SDK to read the file and create Universe
Hello everyone
We are in the process of migrating from a metadata store to BusinessObjects Universe and the plan is to use Java/COM SDK to accomplish that. We have run into limitations with both the SDKs. Java SDK doesn't provide that facility and using COM SDK we are trying to read from a XML file (metadata in CWM format) and create the universe but so far haven't been successful. If the (Universe)Designer can read a CWM format xml file (say created from BODS) we are wondering why can't a customer made COM program do the same.
Has anyone attempted this and been successful. Please acknowledge.
ThanksI have written C#.NET code to build universes on the fly using the Designer SDK with no problems. However, I wasn't using CWM formatted data to do this.
I have two suggestions for you:
1. Since not all of the functionality in the Designer tool seems to be available through the SDK, can you parse the CWM xml file in your code and build the universe based on the data instead of trying have Designer build it?
2. Since you're using Java, you may get better answers by posting this question in the Java SDK Application Development space here: http://scn.sap.com/community/bi-platform/java-sdk

Set PDF Document Properties Initial View by Acrobat SDK with C#
Hi,
Here am trying to set the PDF document initial view by the Acrobat SDK with C#.
Here I am show my screen shot which properties I want to set.
For this process I am referred Acrobat SDK and also following Adobe forums they also asked similar question.
http://forums.adobe.com/message/3866361
http://forums.adobe.com/message/4803264
http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk
And also I am used following C# code
Acrobat.AcroPDDocClass doc = new Acrobat.AcroPDDocClass();
doc.Open(@"D:\..\sap.pdf");
doc.SetOpenInfo(1,1,"Fit Width");
doc.SetPageMode(3);
doc.Save(1, @"D:\..\sap.pdf");
doc.Close();
From the above code {doc.SetPageMode(3);} is working for set the page mode.
But I am having problem in following code {doc.SetOpenInfo(1,1,"Fit Width");}
Because it won’t work I do’t known, and there is no clear samples in the SDK reference document.
So please give advice and clear sample code/syntax to meet above needs which are marked in red box.

SDK – Beginner – Installation - Compiler
Background: I have used some HTML in high school. I have scripted in a 3D social chat environment called Second Life. I get the rough idea that you communicate through events, functions, variables, and if statements to communicate what you want a computer to do. I know nothing about Flex/Flash/AS3.0 other then the basic explanations that flash and flex are related and can makes applications that can be run in web browsers. The basic information that is repeated over and over, but still answers none of the “How” do you start.
I ordered three Books: “Action Script for Multiplayer Games and Virtual Worlds” by Jobe Maker, “Foundation Game Design with Flash” by Rex van der spuy, and “Learning Action Script 3.0 for beginners guide” by Rich Shupe with Zevan Rosser.
I have attempted to read each until I started to get lost and although I could follow each for the first chapters, I am completely lose when they ask me to try to make any code because the Flex SDK is a bunch of folders and some files I have no clue what they are for and with no executable file for installing some sort of application I can use. I have downloaded a trial version of Flash CS5 Web package that has a builder and flash professional, but it has likely changed from CS4 which one of the books is based on, so am unable to even start working on the first project in the book. It means a Main.AS file and a Flash.FLA file, yet FLA is not a file in CS5. So I have to put a hold on attempting that and perhaps try to use AS3.0 compiler, if I can find a way to get one or get it to work since it seems like a compiler might not be a program? I am utterly lost.
QUESTION:
I want a program that I can write action script in and compile so I can at the very least “start” to learn. The code will be rather basic at first like the beginning “Hello World” output in text. The issue is I have no clue how to do it in CS5 and I do not see how to install SDK or compile AS3.0 unless I can install something or run some program to do it, because the SDK zip file has folders and some miscellaneous files in it.
Even when I read the installation there is just vague information about license and information that says nothing about the nuts and bolts of how to install and make use of this program/software I do not see.
I am use to an “install.exe” file and you click it, run it, and then run the application that was installed, but with the SDK it sounds like “Here is a compiler program you just type into and compile to run Action Script 3.0.” yet, that is clearly not the case. I am missing some important arcane knowledge that I am not seeing or figuring out.Hello, I completely understand your frustration. A few years ago I was at your exact position. I did not know what compiler to use, Heck, I didn't even know what a compiler was. I learned the hard way, sometimes learning programming languages that I was truly never going to use but wasted time learning it because I didn't know any better.
By no means I am an expert but I felt compelled to write because I went through the exact same thing.
My recommendations are, if you want to play around with ActionScript for Flash Player, I would start with Flex or Flash Builder. The Reason being is that these programs have code assist which makes programming much easier and faster since they will catch your errors before you compile.
What I did next was to purchase training videos. I started with Flex and have since upgraded to Flash Builder. Once you get comfortable with writing code with in Flex or Flash Builder you could incorporate Flash using CS5 if you wanted. There are literally thousands of training videos out there. Also check YouTube. You can get lots and lots of training there as well.
As far as SDK(software developer kit). I typically get them for Flex or Flash Builder. There are training video on the web that will show you how to load a particular SDK version on Flex or FlashBuilder.
This is basically how I got started. Don't get frustrated, there are lots of people out there willing to help if you just ask.
Good Luck -
After building the open source SDK one ends up with a file named "SDK license.pdf". This file getra extracted from the AIR Integration Kit. Now my question is: Your source code is released under MPL -- but that license says that one is not allowed to modify "Build Tools" like the ASC and it is also not allowed to distribute those tools.
Is this a mistake and does that license file apply only for the AIR Integration Kit or is it true that changing and distributing the compiler breaks the open source SDK license agreement?
Best,
JoaJoa - Sorry for the late reply, it was the Memorial Day Holiday here in the States. If you're building the open source Flex SDK, you shouldn't be getting this file I believe. The file you reference is for the AIR SDK, and the open source license for the open source Flex SDK is spelled out here: http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/Legal+Stuff.
I'm checking with the team to see if this might be a build.xml bug.

Duplex printing using Acrobat SDK 7.05
Hi ,
I am developing an acobat plugin which will help me in getting silent prints. My requirement is for DUPLEX printing, I have a strict requirement of using Acobat API 7.05. I know its possible with Acrobat 8.0 and 8.1 API.
Is it possible to do it with 7.05 API ?

How to call GUI/Dialog in Acrobat sdk Plugin
How to call GUI/Dialog in Acrobat sdk Plugin using VC++ here is my code
ACCB1 void ACCB2 MyPluginCommand(void *clientData)
HMODULE hAppInst = GetModuleHandle(NULL);
DialogBox(hAppInst, MAKEINTRESOURCE(IDD_DIALOG1), NULL, NULL);
HWND hWnd = ::CreateDialog(hAppInst, MAKEINTRESOURCE(IDD_DIALOG1), NULL, DlgProc);
::ShowWindow(hWnd, SW_SHOW);You can, with care, use Windows API calls in a plug-in. But you have to understand the process of loading resources. In particular, the calls you use try to load resources that belong to the main executable, which is Acrobat.exe. Plug-ins have their own instance handle, which is conveniently stored in gHINSTANCE.
In certain cases, especially modeless dialogs, there may be extra calls to make things work properly.
You do need to know how to use the Windows API, and your sample lines seem confused, unless you intended to first display a modal dialog then open the same dialog as modeless. That's something for another forum, -
Hello,
Im running Debian's PPC version of its OS. The only java sdk i can find for PPC
is blackdown sdk 1.3.1 here ... http://penguinppc.org/projects/java/
However , I write a lot of Swing apps :( Does anyone know if ther are any other
SDKs avaliable for Linux PPC (One that supports swing and web start)
Thanks,
jdI did have the same problem until now,
My System is a Sun Ultra 2, with Solaris 7 and a fresh installation of J2SE 1.4.1.
After installation, I had the following problem
$ java -version
Error: failed /usr/j2se/jre/lib/sparc/client/libjvm.so, because ld.so.1: java: f
atal: relocation error: file /usr/j2se/jre/lib/sparc/client/libjvm.so: symbol __
1cG__CrunSregister_exit_code6FpG_v_v_: referenced symbol not found
I just realized that Sun posted Patches for Java on Solaris.
One of the Patches solved this problem.
Here's the URL:

Happy patching

Hi Experts,
I am trying to create a JSP page which will be used to change universe object name without using IDT using BO SDK.
We are using Bo 4.0 SP6 and we generate the Universe with class name same as table name and columns name as objects names.I need a script which will modify these object name in the Universe with proper name.I have some information that we can use SL SDK to achieve the same.
Could you please guide me with some start points on SL SDK.I have some prior experience in SDK programming but most of them are to extract information from CMS repo.
Thanks in advance for your help and guidance.
Regards
KishoreHi,
Universe designer COM SDK works only with UNV universes.
For UNX universes there is only one SDK available 'Semantic Layer Java SDK'.
See the SL SDK library and samples here.

CS5 (11.02.489) I downloaded a file from Adobe and got 2.6, another I got seems to indicte 3.0. Have spent a day trying different avenues to update CS5 Flash Pro as far as possible
Can't get templates for Android etc, am thoroughly confused after a day of no-go, would very much appreciate advice and assistance.
I would like to be able to develope Android and iOS apps, feel happy with the flash but really stuck here at SDKThere is a way if you are able to download the flash cs 5.5. demo to homebrew a Flash CS5 with Air SDK 2.7: shown here
I can vouche for that working, because I have used it.
Its rumored that you can use the same technique to use 3.2 on flash cs5, but I have never tried it.
All the Air SDK versions are available here -

thanxThanx Jeff!
and sorry for replying so late
like with many other things, reading notes carefully can help a lot
problem was solved by setting

for sapinst as described in sap note 722273 -
We're using Crystal 11.5 & 12 .NET interface.
We want to set certain export formatting options for the Excel Data Only export format and have not been able to find the appropriate properties or methods in the documentation. We have used the following code with the COM interface which works properly. However we have been unable to make this work in .NET. The list of the properties are as follows:
ExportOptions.ExcelExportAllPages = True
ExportOptions.ExcelExportImagesInDataOnly = True
ExportOptions.ExcelUseWorksheetFunctions = True
ExportOptions.ExcelMaintainRelativeObjectPosition = True
ExportOptions.ExcelMaintainColumnAlignment = True
ExportOptions.ExcelExportPageAreaPair = True
Does anyone know what the appropriate .NET methods/properties are for Excel Data Only export?You will have to use the RAS SDK. Download the Report Application Server 12 SDK help file from here:
http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31/en/rassdk_net_apiRef_12_en.chm
and then search for export. Then see ExcelExportFormatOptionsClass properties.

Schedule a Webi XIR2 report to run for all values of the prompt ...
Hi there,
Any ideea about if it's possible to schedule a Web Intelligence XIR2 report to automatically run for all 150 different prompt values in the LOV (and have 150 different instances)?
BOXIR2, Java deployment.
Many thanks.You'd be scheduling the document 150 different times, each for one value of the LOV.
You'd use the ReportEngine (REBean) SDK to read the LOV values, then use the Enterprise SDK to schedule.
Here's a bit of code that illustrates how to schedule a Webi doc a single time with specified prompts. You'd do something similar, but iterate the prompt setting and scheduling:
IInfoStore iStore = (IInfoStore) eSession.getService("InfoStore");
ReportEngine reportEngine = ((ReportEngines) eSession.getService("ReportEngines"))
.getService(ReportEngines.ReportEngineType.WI_REPORT_ENGINE);
IInfoObjects objs = iStore.query("Select TOP 1 * From CI_INFOOBJECTS Where "
+ " SI_KIND='Webi' And SI_INSTANCE=0 "
+ " And SI_NAME = '" + reportName + "'");
//============================================================================
// Open Webi document, then get and set Prompts collection
//============================================================================
IWebi webi = (IWebi) objs.get(0);
DocumentInstance di = reportEngine.openDocument(webi.getID());
Prompts prompts = di.getPrompts();
for(int i = 0, m = prompts.getCount() ; i < m ; i++) {
Prompt prompt = prompts.getItem(i);
String name = prompt.getName();
if("Enter value(s) for State:".equals(name)) {
Lov lov = prompt.getLOV();
lov.refresh();
Values values = lov.getAllValues();
prompt.enterValues(new ValueFromLov[] { values.getValueFromLov(0),
values.getValueFromLov(1)});
} else if ("Enter Shop Id:".equals(name)) {
prompt.enterValues(new String[] { "261" });
//===========================================================================
// Copy prompts over to InfoObject
//===========================================================================
PromptsUtil.populateWebiPrompts(prompts, webi);
//===========================================================================
// Schedule Webi report to run once now
//===========================================================================
webi.getWebiFormatOptions().setFormat(IWebiFormatOptions.CeWebiFormat.Webi);
ISchedulingInfo schedInfo = webi.getSchedulingInfo();
schedInfo.setRightNow(true);
schedInfo.setType(CeScheduleType.ONCE);
iStore.schedule(objs);
Sincerely,
Ted Ueda
