Seeting cookies for different domain with port number

Hi,
I've been desperately trying to solve this for a few days now so thought i'd give up and ask.
Basically, when a user logs into the website, the idea is for them to be automatically logged into the bulleting board. This is being done by setting a cookie(I won't go into detail as it's not relevent).
The cookie is being created in one domain (.stage.csu.ac.uk) and needs to be used by another, .prospects.ac.uk. However, the board is on servername.prospects.ac.uk:81, which means that the cookie isn't being picked up.
I've been tearing my hair out for days about this. I can't change the fact it's using port 81, and there's no other way of doing this log in.
If ANYONE can help, I would not be able to say thanks enough.
Sam.

Perhaps you can call a jsp on the other server to set the cookie for you, for example by loading it in a hidden iframe?
This has some maintainance issues because you need to provide a full url to the jsp on the other server, so if anything changes (port number for example) then this solution will break.

  • How to run Indesign CS3 as a Service with Port number

    Hello all,
I would like to run the InDesign CS3 Server as a service on Windows. It seems that after installing the Server it automatically installs as a service. But where can I assign the port number. If under Services properties of InDesign Server under Parameters I mention -port 1050 on Ok button it removes the parameter information.
I am doing right or is there some other way to start the Server as Service with Port number.
    Thank you all in advance.
    Regards
    Farzana.

    Hi Sascha,
have you tried to remove the service and install it manually?
    \"Path to IDS"\InDesignServerService /install /u
    \"Path to IDS"\InDesignServerService /install
I guess you've tried to start the instance in the console already (successfully?).

    Hi Ingo,
I've installed the Snap-In and configured one instance. Maybe it's worth mentioning that there are some instances running at the same time, which have been started using the console. Hope that's not interfering. However, the MMC-configured instance uses a different port.
I tried to start the service with a huge range of users having all imaginable privileges. The common way of using either "LocalService" or the Local System Account (which has admin rights for me) doesn't do the job.
    cheers,

Yes you can. Make sure that domains configured to use different multicast address. WLS uses multicast for communications between nodes in domain.
although your configuration will work, you could have troubles if you going to execute inter-domain calls between domains/servers with the same names.

  • Starting gateway with port number crashes in linux

    Hi,
I am trying to start gateway server with port number as:
    $start_ns -p 2320 (crashes with core dump).
    $start_ns '-p 2320' ( starts and works fine) or start_ns "-p 2320"
Q: does this (single or double cote) is recommended way to start ?
Kindly add your comments on this.
Thanks in advance if some one can clarify this doubt.

    Hi Wilson,
Thanks for your suggestion and help.
Since start_ns have a options to start with port number and we are testing siebel gateway under HA solutions.
This is one of the test scenario we need to test with all the options.
Same command works fine with AIX and solaris but fails in Linux.
    We already referred with http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14004_01/books/SystAdm/SystAdm_SrvrSysSrvc6.html..
Just need to know the purpose of using port number option while starting gateway.
We didnt found any where in Siebel docs how and why to use port number option.
Question is, how start_ns allowing with single & double cotes but not without quotes?
Kindly clarify about this , i am very much confusing.
    Thanks and Reagrds,

  • Request context path for portlet has wrong port number

I have a JSF application deployed as a portlet on the WLS_Portlet domain with port 8889. The portlet is being consumed in WebCenter Spaces, which lives in the WLS_Spaces domain with port 8888.
In my code, I am trying to get the request context path:
    FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getRequestContextPath();
I expect this to return http://host:8889/contextroot (where I am able to access my app resources). Instead, it is returning http://host:8888/contextroot.
Any ideas why this is happening?

  • Apps for different clients with one creative cloud license

Can I publish apps for different clients with one single edition license on creative cloud?

Well, "should" is about as good as it gets, no one is going to enforce that, and it's certainly making me think very very hard about whether to bother with a pro licence again in August!
And yes I'm very much aware of the few advantages of the Pro Licence, I do need to see some much bigger differentiators to justify the extra cost though!

  • Configure portal to issue ticket (MYSAPPSSO2 cookie) for "higher" domain

    Hello all,
we have an EP 7.00 (SP 22) which can be accessed using the following (faked) fully qualified URL:
    https://host.sd1.sd2.mycompany.de:[HTTPS-port]/irj/portal
When logging on to the portal with username and password, the portal issues a logon ticket. In the browser, I can see the MYSAPSSO2 cookie and it is for the following domain:
    .sd1.sd2.mycompany.de
From the portal, we call some BI report applications, which run on WebFocus. The WebFocus server is in the following domain:
    .sd3.sd4.mycompany.de
Single sign-on does not work. It only works, if we modify the domain of the MYSAPSSO2 cookie (this we achieved with a firefox-addon) and "cut off" the two subdomains .sd3.sd4
My question: is it possible, to configure the portal in such a way, that the MYSAPSSO2 cookie is issued for domain
    .mycompany.de ?
I have read some hints on domain relaxing. But I am not sure, if setting the parameter ume.logon.security.relax_domain.level would help us. If I understood it correctly, we would need to set the value to 3.
    Best regards,
    Philipp Hinnah

    Hi Philipp,
yes, relax_domain is the correct parameter. By the way - use the search function in SDN and you will find a lot of threads around this issue. And also you would have found the answer.

  • Error when doing GR for production order with serial number

I'm not familiar with serial number and equipment management but I'm trying to help my user resolve this issue.
This product is returned from customer site.
I saw that this material is being reset in IQ02 from status in warehouse to become Available when the material is consumed in the production order via 261 movement type. So now the status is available. Then the user went to change a new serial number. Later, GR for production order is done in MB31. Errors are encountered when prompted to enter the new serial number.

  • Sharing cookies across different domains

We have two different apps in two separate locations. Is it possible to set the cookies for one app and be able to retrieve the same from the other app? Is this doable?

I have two different web applications running on same
WebLogic server say webapp1 and webapp2. Webapp1 has
servlet which redirects the user to JSP in webapp2.
While redirecting I have to pass one string value to
called JSP. I have achieved this by using QueryString
    as follows:
    response.sendRedirect(ConfigService.getProperty("com.t
    wofactauth.caymanlogin.caymanurl", null)) +
    "?userName=" + strCaymanUserName);
but this expoes the value in browser address bar but
i don't want to expose the value passed. I am
searching the way to pass the value internally
    without exposing.
so please tell me other way in which i can pass the
value to called JSP without usign QueryString.
I am using WebLogic 8.1 for deployments. Both
applications are deployed on same WebLogic instance.I think a big part of the problem is that you want the functionality of a web app to be available to others, but you've locked it up behind a UI.
I think this is one of the benefits of a service-oriented architecture. You start thinking about the system functionality apart from the UI. Your JSPs become just another client of the services you expose. Anyone can call those services, as long as they can see that service on their network.
When I've done this I've started with a Spring service interface that is completely separate from the view layer. Once I have that, I can expose it to any other client either with web services (not preferred) or Spring HTTP remoting (preferred due to its simplicity).

  • Weblogic Sessions for different domains

    Hi
I am developing a website that will be will be used in different countries. The code is going to be the same and this code will be deployed on one cluster of weblogic servers.
For Eg. there will be a site abc.com.br and abc.com.mx. Both these are websites for different countries but will be served by the same application server.
So, the same application server will service the request coming from both the websites. So the question that I have is whether Weblogic will treat these requests as seperate sessions or the same session.
ie, will the weblogic server issue two JSESSIONID cookies for both these domains or will this be treated as a single session?
    Thanks in advance
    Tejas

    Hi,
You can use "Cookie-Path" tag inside your "weblogic.xml" file to prevent any such thing: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15051_01/wls/docs103/webapp/weblogic_xml.html
    cookie-path
    Default Value: null
Defines the session tracking cookie path.
If not set, this attribute defaults to / (slash), where the browser sends cookies to all URLs served by WebLogic Server. You may set the path to a narrower mapping, to limit the request URLs to which the browser sends cookies.
Still if you want to make sure that the Session Cookie Name should be different for Both the Applications (means other Than JSESSIONID) then you can use <cookie-name> tag inside the "weblogic.xml" file..... One best way of changing the cookiename is using "plan.xml" without changing anything physically in the application.
    Example: http://weblogic-wonders.com/weblogic/2009/12/16/updating-cookiename-using-plan-xml/

  • Configuring Separate Wikis for Different Domains

    Hello:
I've been trying to configure Lion Server to host several different domains on the same IP.  Configuring the virtual hosts settings using the Server App seem to handle this just fine.  What I'm confounded by, however, is how to have each site/domain have its own separate Wiki content.  No matter which domain I browse to, I can still see all of the wiki content on the server.  For my purposes, it's imperative that the Wikis from each of my sites not be visible to the others.  Has anyone figured out how to do this?  Perhaps there's an easy way to get this done, but it's anything but obvious to me.
    Insights are most appreciated.  Thanks.

    kigrant:
To be able to publish each site to its own folder you'll have to split your current domain file into 3 files. I use iWebSites to manage multiple sites.. It lets me create multiple sites and multiple domain files.
If you have multiple sites in one domain file here's the workflow I used to split them into individual site files with iWebSites. Be sure to make a backup copy of your original Domain.sites files before starting the splitting process.
This lets me edit several sites and only republish the one I want.

  • How can I manage playlists for different users with home sharing?

I have two teenagers with no taste in music, my wife who appreciates Abba my own music to manage across a fleet of devices.  My kids dont like Ozarks or Pink Floyd, and I would rather skin myself with a cheese grater than have One direction on my phone.  Does home sharing allow for different devices to sync different playlists???  And furthermore is the icloud Match thing worth the trouble???
    thanks

After researching through the forums, I figured it out. You have to make sure you are logged in under the same account on both computers. At first I was logged under my account on my computer and logged in under my father's account on my father's computer. You have to choose one account to log in under on both computers and then you will be abler to import songs from both computers. If you do not log in under the same account, you will be able to listen to both computers' music, but not import.
