Selection screen in WAD

Hi,
I have 5 data providers( queries) in the web query. They have same selection criteria in which one of the variables is mandatory. when I execute the web query the same selection criteria( variables) are getting displayed 5 times.
How can I do this. Point will be awarded to the valid answer.

Dear Bill,
You can use the Filter Webitem and in the Behaviour LINKED_DATA_PROVIDER_REF_LIST , for this parameter specify all the data providers , this will allow only one time Input and will apply to all queries.

Hi Guruu2019s,
I have a requirement where I need to design a selection screen by using WAD 3.x web items. In the selection screen we have to include the Query Description - in the left corner of the selection screen, Name of Sales Person u2013 left side of the screen, Date from and Date to u2013 right side of the selection screen, User ID and User Name u2013 on the top right of the selection screen etc., after this on the bottom of the selection screen I have to include the pushbutton RUN REPORT.
After filling all the above parameters and click on Run Report it has to trigger another URL link which contains consolidated Sales CRM Report.
Could any one suggest me and provide me the idea on developing the selection screen with WAD 3.x Web items and is there any other interface to trigger the other URL link when I click on Run Report.

How to get Selection Screen in WAD?

Hi Experts,
I have designed a WAD where when executed, the selection screen does not come. It goes straight to the report.
I have used a table for the Data Providers.
What settings I have to make for the selection screen to pop out?

Iam not sure for some reason, when I select web_template and click on Web Parameters, there nothing available below Behaviour section. However when I create a new Analysis Item and see its properties, the Behaviour section shows only Allow Navigation & Only Hierarchy options.
Should I reinstall my front end. We are in SP10.

Change order variable in selection screen of WAD

Hi,
I created a wad with 2 queries.
Selection screen of Query A :
Year
Month
Site
Customer
Activity
Selection screen of Query B :
Year
Site
Customer
I checked the [MELT_VARIABLES] in the WAD because Year, Site and Customer are in both queries
Unfortunately, the result in my wad is :
Year
Site
Customer
Month
Activity
But i would like to have :
Year
Month
Site
Customer
Activity
How could i do it ?

Yes, i know it's possible to change the ordre in Query Designer.
It's why i set the sequence in Query A and Query B as i showed in my initial post.
Unfortunately, it seems than in WAD the sequence is changed.
First, it show the variable that exist in both queries ( in my case : Year, Site and Customer )
then the variable that exist only in query A ( Month, Activity )
then the variable that exist only in query B ( Nothing )
I wish to change this behavior.

Change default value (200) of Max No of Hits for selection screen in WAD

How do i change the default value of Maximum Number of Hits from 200 to 1000 for selection screen's find box in Web Application Designer .

F4 selection screen layout - WAD 7

Hi guys,
We have a simple selection screen over a variable and we have a couple of questions regarding the layout of the selection screen.
1. Can we change the default to "Search" instead of "All"?
2. When we scroll down in the list the width of the columns changes according to the data, is there a way to determine the column width?

Display selection screen values in WAD

Hi all,
I would like to display the values of the selection screen in my report. I can't find which WAD object I can used to do that.
It will be a reminder for the user of what he have filled in the selection screen.
(WAD version 2004s support package 11)

Inn 3.5 we use a web item called Text Elements and define in it whether we will display Filters - Variables or General elements.
There must be an equivalent in 2004.

Most of our BW reports use one Web Template. When the variable screen pops up, the header shows "Variables for Ad Hoc Report" instead of the name of the report that were are executing from the role folder.
Does anybody know how can I get the title of the report to show instead of "Variables for Ad Hoc Report"?

sorry, but this is only possible with modification in class cl_rsr_www_variable_screen method FILL_OPEN_FORM(no customizing for this)

To display the selection screen variant name in WAD report output.

Hello experts,
I have a requirement which is to display the selection screen variant description in the output of the WAD report.
I managed halfway, by using the object "Information field", which displays all the values which are selected by the variant.
Example:I have created a cost center report created using WAD, since I need some graphical displays..
In the selection screen, I have the characteristic "cost center" as input field. I have created a variant " GM - IT" which will include few cost centers managed by GM. In the output, I want the dispaly to be "Cost center - GM IT". Currently it displays "Cost Center - a,b,c,d" as the values a,b,c,d are the values from the variant name "GM-IT"
Please let me know if this required any java script. I am not familiar with java / html codes and any help would be much appreciated (and rewarded)

Hi,
Try this.
If you want to include your variables in your WAD means you have to choose "Force Variable Screen" option to be in enabled condition.
TO enable this,in WAD select your Template(New Template1) click the WEBITEM , it'll shows all generic properties , here you can enable this "Force variable screen"
Save and execute your WAD now you can get your variable screen.

Query Selection Screen in Report Designer/WAD

Hi Gurus,
Please help. Iam try to copy two BEx queries into one report using Report Designer & Web Application Designer. Iam sucessfull in it, however when I execute the report either by report designer or WAD, the report does not populate the selection screen, it just gives you the output of the two queires into one page. Is there a pre-settings we need to perform to get the selection screen for each of this report?

Hi,
Front-end upgrade will not help in this case. This feature "Display Variable Screen [VARIABLE_SCREEN]" was introduced in SP8 backend. You need SP8 backend to be able to use it.
You will find this setting in "Properties" -> "Web Template" (in combo box) -> "Web Template Parameters" -> "Behaviour" -> "Display Variable Screen"
This setting is defined in metadata and required an implementation on Java side (also SP8 required)

I would like to extend that page with BSP Application...
Purpuse of this application is to read some information from tables
on BW transaction server and display them within Web page.
Question: How to read selection screen values from a Web template ?

Hi,
The selection screen parameters will be on an inputField, so try and get the is of the inputfield generated by doing View source...
And once you get the inputfield Id, you can read the value in the InputField(InF) by
using the following code...!
data : if_value type ref to cl_htmlb_inputfield.
data : variable type string.
if_value ?= cl_htmlb_manager=>get_data( request = request
 name = 'inputField'
 id = 'InF_ID_here'
 if if_value->value is not initial.
 variable = if_value->value.
 endif.

Variable Selection Screen Issue in WAD

Hi Guru's,
I have created a Query in 3.5 and having Variables for the same as Acutal Good's Issued Date & Plant. I am able to see the variable screen with selection option(Intervals) in Query level. But I am not able to see the Variable selection option as interval in Portal (WAD). The variable is showing only as single value.
Please suggest to get the variable selection screen as interval's.

I got your point.When you open that query in Analyzer,it shows the variable screen and the variable is shown as a interval variable.But if you open the same query in Web Analyzer,the variable shown as single value variable.
This looks little weird because both Web and BEx Analyzer uses the same Query.Can you execute the query in RSRT Tcode and check how the variable shown(whether as a Single or interval variable).
And also check the variable definition.Try to create a new variable with the same settings and check the behavior.

WAD selection screen

Hi,
when you start web application, you have to go through same selection screen as when you are executing regular query.
Is it possible to skip this screen and to make selection when you are inside the appliction.

Are you saying about "Open Recent Web Templates" screen?
You can very well open/search your own query right after the above screen appears from Open button on top left menus..

I faced a similar issue (for what I understand your request is).
My requirement for the Variable Screen was to do:
1) place a link to a ppt file
2) remove buttons "Save", "Save As...), "Delete"... the standard buttons come when running the Query or WebTempl
We were using a Web Templ for BI7.0
I struggled trying to find out how to do it. My conclusions are:
- WAD, not sure we can accomplish it using a Web Template but i did not "play" a lot with the Web_Template Properties in order to know
- XHTML, I was told in my post HTML modification was the way, but I have close to nil background in HTML and couold not find the way of accessing the Variable Entry screen
For instance, I had to remove similar buttons and change some font size from a link on the Web Template (WAD), which was pretty straight forward. In WAD the buttons come with its own icon and to increase the Font size for that link we used XHTML (). But the heck of the variable screen...well, i just did not get trhough to it to modify it in any way.
