"Sent Items" folder can not be synced up in time for Outlook 2013 cache mode

Hi,
I found a strange problem in Outlook 2013 cache mode. Hope anyone can help me find out if it is the new design of outlook 2013 or outlook 2013 issue.
I am using Exchange 2013 and Outlook 2013 client. I created two outlook profiles in two machines separately with a same exchange user, the difference for the two profiles is one is in cache mode, and the other is in uncache mode.
I launched outlook using the profiles in the two machines, go to "Sent Items" folder, I assume there are some messages in this folder in your mailbox, do below steps:
1. modify one of the messages in the "Sent Items" folder from the profile in cache mode, in this case, the changes to the message will be synced up to the profile which is in uncache mode immediately.
2. modify another messages in the "Sent Items" folder from the profile in uncache mode, in this case, the changes will never be synced up to the profile in cache mode.
In the second action above, even if I clicked "Send/Receive" button, and waited for whole night, the changes was not synched up to the cached mode side. The way I can get the latest changes to the "Sent Items" folder is "clear
offline items" and click "Update folder" or I need to remove and create the profile again.
All in all, the changes to the items in "Sent Items" folder of Outlook 2013 which was did from cache mode will be synched up to exchange server side immediately, but the changes which was did from exchange server side will
never be synched up to the cache mode side unless the end-user clear the offline items and update folder or create a new profile again.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!
Best Regards, Emily

The first behavior is by design even in the previous version of Office.
"1. modify one of the messages in the "Sent Items" folder from the profile in cache mode, in this case, the changes to the message will be synced up to the profile which is in uncache mode immediately."
Uploading local changes ---- By default, when you make a change locally, that change is synced to the server after 15 seconds. When you make another change within those 15 seconds, then the timer is reset again. As now you
could in theory hold off synchronization indefinitely, there is the maximum timer. This timer is started after the first change that you made and when it reaches 60 seconds, then a synchronization will occur to upload all the changes that you have made thus
far, no matter how many seconds are left on the upload timer.
However, in second section, this should be a downloading server changes
behavior ---- When a server side mailbox change occurs, Outlook is notified by the Exchange server of this change. By default, Outlook will then wait 30 seconds before synchronizing these changes. If there are any other changes occurring
at the server level within these 30 seconds, then these changes are downloaded at the same time as well.
At this time, please directly modify the message in sender items folders through Web-based access and then wait over 30 seconds to check if the items changes from cache mode profile. Please also test if we can reproduce that in other folder.
Let me know the result. Thanks.
Cheers,
Tony Chen

  • Sent Items folder is not available

I am using Outlook 2010 and have configured my domains' email address as an account on the Outlook profile. On the left sidebar I see my email address listed as follows:
    > [email protected]
    Inbox
    Deleted Items
    Junk E-mail
    Sent Items
I have configured my account to keep a copy of sent items. When I compose and email and send it I always get the "Sent Items folder is not available" message which I never got in Outlook 2003.
However, as you can see above the Sent Items folder is listed! When I click on the Inbox node and select IMAP Folders I see that it is NOT subscribed to ANY folder. I press the Query button and select all folders (Inbox, Deleted, Junk, Sent) and press the
Subscribe button. It doesn't produce any error message. I close that dialog and then reopen again to see my subscribed folders list and IT IS EMPTY!!!
So why is it failing to subscribe to the Sent Items folder? This worked seamlessly in previous versions of Outlook, this "improvement" is obviously an anomalous behavior.

  • Can Outlook 2013 cached mode disabled work offline?

    Hello
I would like to please someone help me to resolve a concern. I have a client Outlook 2013 cache mode disabled by policy, however when you need to open Outlook without connecting to any network, is not possible and a message that the server is not online.
Is there a way to change this behavior and that an Outlook client that has disabled the cache can work offline?
    Many thanks

    Hi
No, that is what cached mode is used for.
You can use OWA offline if you are disabling cache mode with policy.

  • [certain number] item(s) could not be synced.  See itunes for more information????

    Okay so recently I got a gift card with a £10 credit.  Now i have tried to buy an app for my iphone.  My iphone is on a different account to my itunes on my mac and so I authorized the account on my phone onto itunes.  Then I plugged in my phone and tried to drag the app icon there.  When I did, a smaller icon of that came up on my phone but didn't download.  So I unplugged the phone and tried to download again, it then said it was syncing.  And comes up with the message;
1 item could not be synced.  See itunes for more.
I tried again and then it said
71 items could not be synced.  See itunes for more.
    I only want ONE item!!!!!!!!!

  • Rules not working in Outlook 2010 Sent Items folder (Personal Folder)

I've been trying to automatically categorize and send emails I've written and sent to the archive's Sent Items folder.  However, everytime I create a rule for a particular type of email it doesn't carry it out.  The rule will only work when I manually

assign it to the 'ZZZ' category

  • Outlook 2010 not saving Sent emails in Sent Items Folder

This problem does not exist on this forum.  Using Outlook 2010 (V 14.0.7106.5001 (64-bit) on Windows 7 64-bit with three accounts: 1 account is Gmail and 2 accounts are IMAP.  The IMAP accounts inexplicably stopped saving Sent emails.  The
Gmail account still saves the Sent emails.
    Tried already:
    1. Changing the Sent Items setting from Save on folder on computer to Save on server and then changed back to the way it was, which is correct.
    2. Created a new profile and entered the email settings.  Still no sent mails being saved.
    3. Ran Outlook repair.  No luck.
Not sure where to go with this next.  Never have run into a problem like this before.

    Hi,
Please make sure you have the emails sent to the recipients successfully, if not, the emails may be saved to other folders if you have the following setting:
File tab -> Options -> Mail -> If you checked
Automatically save items that have not been sent after this many minutes,
Save to this folder, you may have your emails stored in the selected folder if the emails are not sent successfully.
Please visit the Webmail site, could you find the sent items there?
Try Reset View, then try to search for the sent emails by keywords in Advanced Find, can you find the emails?
    Kindly check the following settings:
File tab -> Options -> Mail
-> under Save messages, make sure you have checked Save copies of messages in the Sent Items folder
If none of the above helps, feel free to contact me again.

  • Why can't I remove attachments from emails in the Sent items folder?

I Recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Lion, and so far, there are at least a couple of things that puzzle me.
One is that now I don't have the option to "Remove Attachments" from emails in the sent items folder. It seems to work normally
in the Inbox and Drafts folders, but not in the Sent items. Go figure ???
Another thing that bothers me is that in Preview, when I save a screen shot, or a scan, etc., I no longer have the option of saving it as a GIF
(which, when better quality isn't absolutely necessary, is often much lower in KB or MB than a PNG or JPG, etc.. When I store lots of things as such images, I'd rather have that option.
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I have now created a smart mailbox as described above (good idea), and although I have some 50 messages in my Sent box, all with attachments (waiting to be removed so I can store the messages in the proper mailboxes), the smart mailbox is empty. So, Mail doesn't recognise these messages as containing attachments.
This led me to think that maybe Mail has been redesigned to work the way you would expect it to, at last; to contain a link to attachments instead of including them in all their bits and bytes. That would mean that the messages in my Sent box - with attachments - could be stored in local (or server-side) mailboxes without taking up extensive space.
But then I checked the size of my Sent Messages folder inside the Mail Folder in Finder, and - whoops - it's 50+ MB. So the sent messages do contain attachments all right. And Mail doesn't recognise these, since a) the smart mailbox trick says that the messages are free from attachments, and b) the Remove Attachments menu option is disabled.
I will have to wait for the next Mail update, and my Sent box will grow accordingly ...

  • Entourage 2000 - sent emails are not appearing in "sent items" folder

I am using Entourage 200 with POP account. I have the preference for "save copies of sent messages in the Sent Items folder" clicked since I install it a year ago. But a couple of days ago, all my sent emails have vanished. Even new emails I compose and sent out are not appearing in the "sent items" folder. I did hit "option" when openning the program and everything verify ok. Any help would be greatly appreciate.

Since this is the Mail & Address Book - Tiger discussions/forum for Apple's Mail and Address Book applications, you probably won't get much help here with your question.
What is the size of your Entourage database file? Entourage uses a single large database to store all application data and I believe Entourage X has a 4 GB database size limit.
Does hit the option key when launching Entourage perform the database rebuild function? If not, do a search with Entourage help with "rebuild" for instructions.

  • 500+ items can not be synced with iTunes..?

After syncing with iTunes, my iPhone 5 says "514 items could not be synced. See iTunes for more information." Where on iTunes do I find this information? How do I know what is not syncing and figure out how to get it to sync? I'm confused...

I see now after the Sync, a  !triangle appears next to my mini in iTunes. Clicking on it brings up a list. Sure would be nice to be able to Save that list, since I can't fix anything while that list is showing! And once you close it, the warnings disappear along with the triangle. I ended up using Grab to save the info.
Reset Warnings also makes the triangle go away. Along with all that info.

  • Why are sent emails not stored in the Sent Items folder in iOS7

Why are sent emails not stored in the Sent Items folder?

    Thanks, Matt.
I'm now starting to notice the emails that don't come in order are all posted from sites that use multiple platforms to send the same message; email, Facebook, Twitter, etc. so maybe that has something to do with it. I'm thinking the hold up is possibly at their end.

  • Sent Items Folder not showing on 2 of my E-Mail Accounts

I have an iPhone 3GS and have 3 e-mail accounts incoming to it. One will show incoming, sent, and delete however the other 3 don't have sent items. Any idea why? I have Cox for my e-mail.

Although created as separate email accounts, are the 2 additional accounts alias accounts to the original or what you are calling your "default" account?
If true and completely separate email accounts, each account will have its own email address appearing as the sending email address when sending a message with the account.
If true and completely separate email accounts, each account's Sent mailbox will be created automatically after a message is successfully sent with each account. The same for each account's Trash mailbox after selecting a message for deletion that was received or sent with the account.

  • Mail and sent items folder on Yahoo!

(Firstly I'm running the latest version of Mail on the latest OSX on an iMac, and MBA, iPads and iPhones).
What is it with Mail on oSX and how have Apple managed to make it so much worse than Mail on iOS?!!!!!
First issues, if you can help please.
I use Yahoo! On every Mail app in the world for the last zillion years (including on iOS) when you sent an email it goes in to your Sent Items. Nothing revolutionary about that. But why on Mail for OSX does it go in to a different folder called Sent Messages and not in the Sent Items folder like it does on every other Apple Mail app?! If I sent an email on my iMac when I want to find it on my iPhone I won't find it in Sent Items (one of the four or so default folders with a pretty icon) but instead I have to find it all on it's own in a separate sub folder called Sent Messages. Can that really be right?
    Secondly, Exchange.
Mail on iOS and Exchange all works simply and logically and updates immediately etc. Why does Exchange mail on Mail for OSX firstly take many, many, many, minutes to update the Inbox (despite manually clicking the Get Mail icon). it is soooooo slow despite forcing it to do it. Also, identicasl settings for Mail Preferences on my MBA and my iMac. One Exchange Inbox says 189 Unread and the other says 98 Unread.
Mail for OSX gets a resounding 2/10 score but maybe I'm doing something wrong?
    All input gratefully received.

    Hi Scott
To see Sent Mail on you Gmail IMAP address in Apple Mail program, you need to click on and expose Gmail section in left column of mail and show the Sent folder as shown below. This will show you the emails sent from your other devices. This information is stored on Gmail server.
The best way to reach me is via email. Please reply to this email and I will contact you as soon as I possibly can.

  • Sent messages aren't saved in the Sent Items folder in Outlook 2013

When we send a message in Outlook 2013, a copy of the message should be saved in the Sent Items folder by default. If Outlook doesn’t save a copy of the sent message, it may be caused by any one of the following
    reasons:
The “Save copies of messages in the Sent Items folder”
    option in Outlook is disabled.
The save location for sent messages was changed to another folder.
There is a custom view set on Sent Items folder, or the view on
    Sent Items is corrupt.
Outlook Data File may be damaged.
To resolve the issue, use the appropriate method for your situation.
Enable the Save copies of messages in the Sent Items folder
    option
To configure Outlook 2013 to save copies of your sent messages in the Sent Items folder, please follow these steps:
    1. Click File tab > Options.
    2. Click Mail on the left pane.
    3. Scroll to the Save Messages section, select the check box before “Save copies of messages in the Sent Items folder”.
    4. Click OK.
If it is the replying message that is not saving to the Sent Items folder, we need to disable the “When replying to a message that is not in the Inbox, save the reply in the same folder” option in the location mentioned above.
If you’re using an IMAP account, please also make sure you didn’t select the “Do not save copies of sent items” in Account Settings. To check this, Please refer to the following steps:
    1. In Outlook, click File tab > Info.
    2. Click Account Settings > Account Settings, and then double-click your IMAP account to open the
    Change Account wizard.
    3. Click More Settings button.
    4. Under Sent Items heading, clear the check box before “Do not save copies of sent items”.
    5. Click OK and click Next to complete the configuration.
Make sure there is no rule or anything else to redirect sent messages to other folders
To check if it is caused by Outlook rules, please follow these steps:
    1. In Outlook 2013, click Home tab.
    2. Click Rules > Manage Rules & Alerts.
    3. In the rules list, check if there is any rule that applied to the sent messages may cause this issue.
In addition, some rules may be corrupt or hidden and we cannot see them from the rules list. We need to use the MFCMAPI tool to find and delete the corrupt/hidden rules. To do this, we can use the following steps:
    1. Download MFCMAPI tool from: http://mfcmapi.codeplex.com/
    2. Start MFCMAPI tool.
    3. Click Session menu >
Logon, select the Outlook profile you are using and click OK.
    4. Double-click the mailbox that contains the inbox rules that you want to delete.
    5. A new window will open. In the new window, expand
Root Container or Root – Mailbox, and then expand
Top of Information Store or IPM_SUBTREE.
    6. Right click on Inbox and select
    Open associated contents table.
    7. In the Inbox window, locate and then right-click the items that have the
IPM.Rule.Message message class, and then click Delete Message.
To identify a specific rule, you’ll have to select the rule in the top pane in MFCMAPI and then scroll down in the lower pane and look at the
Property name(s) column. Find the ptagRuleMsgName property name and check the value against the rule name you were trying to delete in Outlook.
    8. In the Delete Item dialog, select
DELETE_HARD_DELETE from the Deletion Style drop-down menu.
    9. Click OK.
Reset the view settings on Sent Items folder
If you accidently changed the view settings on Sent Items folder, this may cause some sent messages not visible in the folder. To check if you’ve set any view settings on Sent Items folder, please follow:
    1. In Outlook, select Sent Items folder.
    2. Click View tab from the Ribbon.
    3. Click View Settings button. If you notice the
Reset Current View button is clickable, it means the view settings for Sent Items have been changed before.
    4. Click the Reset Current View button and then check the Sent Items folder again.
Scan and repair the Outlook Data File
To repair the .pst file, please follow:
    1. Find and start the Inbox Repair Tool in the following path:
For Outlook 2013 on a 32-bit version of Windows:
    <disk drive>\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15
For Outlook 2013 on a 64-bit version of Windows:
    <disk drive>\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15
    2. In the Inbox Repair tool, click Browse to locate the PST file by using the Windows file system.
    3. Click Start.
    4. After the analysis scan has completed, it will present you with a scanning report and options for the next step. Click Repair button.
To repair the .ost file, since this type of data file is a copy of information saved on your mail server, we can just delete the OST file and restart Outlook to re-create a new one.
For more information about repair Outlook data files, please refer to this article:

Same problem here, connecting to a Groupwise (not latest) server. Whenever Mail.app 3 tries to upload/save a new messsage to the server, it would not save and completely lose the message!
I found slightly more information by turning off the "Save to server" option for Sent and Drafts, created a new message that I saved as draft, and then tried to manually move items to the Drafts or Sent folder on the IMAP server.
The error I received was: The message <message> could not be moved to the mailbox <mailbox>-<account>. The IMAP command "APPEND" (to <mailbox>) failed with server error: APPEND NotJunk.
To my inexperienced eyes, it looks like the latest version of Mail changed it's default IMAP handling commands that may be incompatible with older IMAP servers. Anyone else have more insight or know how I can get back Mail.app 2.x from Tiger?
