Setting default property value in custom componenty

I'm a Flash newbie trying to build a custom component using
Flash MX 2004. basically it's an enhanced version of the standard
label component. Everything seems to work fine except when trying
to set default text or assigning a text value in the "properties"
window (the field displays in the properties window, but any value
typed into it does not appear during movie playback). Currently,
the text can be seen only in authoring mode, not when the movie
plays. The only way for the text to displayed during playback is to
set it up through code. Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong? .as

Is there any way of setting system wide default property values in Windows XP? For example, I want to set the extensions directories to point to a common jar directory for all java programs I run on my computer. Or I want to set the JDBC driver properties for all programs. Any easy way of doing this?

For example, if I created a Web Content Crawler to scan MarchofDimes.com, which has various career postings, I would like to be able to default or force these crawled content items to have a category field of "Job Postings".
It appears that at the "Content Type" object level, you can set a default value. However I don't want to set "Job Postings" as the category for all imported web content, only those imported through this particular crawler.
I tried to create a new Content Type called "Web Content - Job Postings" but I chickend out when it got down to setting a new identifier to map to the Content Type. I wasn't sure how that would be accepted in the Global Content Mime/File Type Map Utility if there were duplicate identifiers.
Apart from going into each crawled document and setting the category field manually, does anyone have a recommendation on how this can be done?Thanks!Geoff!

In the PAI module, you need to save the changes to the database using the command MODIFY.
Follow an example:
Create or change a message in database table T100. If there is no message with the number 100 in the MYMSGCLASS message class in English, it will be created. Otherwise only the text is changed.
DATA message_wa TYPE t100.
message_wa-sprsl = 'EN'.
message_wa-arbgb = 'MYMSGCLASS'.
message_wa-msgnr = '100'.
message_wa-text = 'Some new message ...'.
MODIFY t100 FROM message_wa.

Default multiple values in custom search help

Hi All,
I created a custom search help for the vendor. The fields in the search help are LIFNR (Vendor) and KTOKK (Account Group).
I would like to be able to set three default values for the account group. That is, when the user clicks on the dropdown to display the search help, I would like to have three values populated in the KTOKK field. Is this possible?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
I am not sure abt default values, but if you are using this search help in any report than you can set hot keys in your search help and using hot keys, you can set some default filter values in you report's parameter.
you can set variant in your report where parameter is having values like :: =,<hotkey>,<sel1>,<sel2>
here <hotkey> : wht you have assingned in search help.
<sel1> : one of those default values you want to display.
<sel2> : one of those default values you want to display for the second field.

You can use EVPRO to get this property in BPC excel. The syntax is =evpro(appname, Member, property). In your case, it is
=evpro("App","Proj1","FM_AMT")

Set default step values

Hello,
I want to change the default values of a variable in a custom step Type during the execution, so the values can be used as Reference for the Configuration of this step(different for each step).
Is this possible while the execution runs?
I tried the PostExpression to set the values, but if the execution ends the values are set to default....

i understand your request. Nevertheless, it is not really easy to do this since you have several different parts of your software which have to work together properly.
The major problem is that you want to supply the user with measured values from previous execution as well as to give him the possibility to change settings for future executions. This can be done by the edit substep, but the trick is to find a real good way to give the substep knowledge about previous measurement values....i suggest you to use a database.
Advantage:
You can use database reporting from TestStand to save measurement values.
You can read those values in your edit substep module and display them.
Disadvantage:
Additional effort due to database configuration (will pay off in quite short time in my opinion!)

For the multiple lines of text field in a list, I'm using SharePoint Designer 2013 to set a default
value for the field, but I need that default value to include rich text formatting (the default value includes a formatted table). Is this possible without having to delve into JavaScript? And if so, how?

How to set Default DateTime values in Crystal Reports 2008

Hi All,
I'm using Crystal Reports 2008. I have two fields FromDate and ToDate in reports. While running report, FromDate field should be displayed with CurrentDate + 00:00:00 in the UI and for ToDate it should be displayed with CurrentDate + 23:59:59 format.
I have tried the below things, But still I want to set CurrentDate + 00:00:00 time in DateTime field.
"In CR 2008 you would set the time portion to 00:00:00 in this way:
1) Edit the date/time parameter and look for the 'Default Value' option; it would be blank
2) Set this to 00:00:00
This would default the calendar to 12/30/1899 00:00:00. The only worry here is, when you click on the calendar icon you would be presented with the calendar for the year 1899 and it is painstaking to scroll all the way to the current year."
I found one solution in SAP forum and I have added the below lines in Record Selection formula,
{@FromDate} = date(@CurrentDate)+time(00,00,00)
{@ToDate} = date(@CurrentDate)+time(23,59,59)
When I run the report, I still getting the empty values in the input parameters screen.
Am I missing anything? Kindly help

To call a bean function to set a property value with hx:ajaxRefreshRequest

I have an input box
I need to output some text onto an output box,When the input box value changes
I am using Ibm jsf implementation and RSA 7.0,JSF 1.1 implementation
I know how to call a bean property's setter method using this hx:refresh submit and associated behaviours and target actions.
As explained in this tutorial

But my aim is to call a bean function other than the setter method,because i could do some business logic there and give output.This is possible via setters too,but i believe thats a poor programming practice.

You can use any jsf implementation you want, I suggested you only the steps to accomplish the task but I don't know the components you are using...
You can also accomplish the task without Ajax at all using "classic" http requests but it will be very frustrating for your users...
Catch client side event (input value change) -> fire an action that update the model -> update presentation layer with up to date model values

How to set default variable value in the workbook

Dear experts,
I used several queries in a workbook and one of these queries contained a variable, so when every time the workbook is opened there is a window popping up to ask user to input the value for the variable.
Now I wanna set an default value for this variable so that the variable input window will not pop up when the workbook is opened.
I searched the forum and found most solutions is to use the SAPBEXqueries to set value for the variable.
But in my BEx analyzer I can not find this sheet named SAPBEXqueries. and I also found some difference between my analyzer and the ones descripted in the forum.
My BEx analyzer version is 6.40. I think it's a new version.
Do you know how to solve my problem with this version BEx analyzer?

Yes I tried the personalization but it seems doesn't work, I don't know why.
I set the personalization in the BEx analyzer according to the help documentation step by step but the variable selection screen still pop up when the workbook is opened.
If I executed the query which contained in the workbook seperately there is no variable selection screen pop up.
And because I don't wanna change the variable, so I didn't uncheck the ready to input.

Default cell values for column not properly saved in uir file in labwindows 2009 (9.1.0 427)?

I've run into a strange problem with the table control. Basically, even though I set default cell values for a particular column as numeric, when I try to add items to the list it tries to add them as strings, and returns an error message that it is expecting *char instead of int. Furthermore, when I open the uir file that contains the table in question in 2010, it appears as if the default cell values for that column are still set as strings, even though in 2009 when I open the uir file it shows as numbers. I tried converting the uir to C code, and sure enough the C code indicated that the column still is a string type.
I've gone ahead and made a small project to show the issue. If you open this project in labwindows 2009 and click on the table in the table_bug.uir, and edit default cell values for column 1, you will see that the cell settings have type as numeric and data type as int. When you run the project, however, it will fail with an error message saying that it is looking for a *char. When this same project is loaded into labwindows 2010, clicking on the table in table_bug.uir and edit default cell values (column 1) shows the type as string. When I change this to numeric (and change numeric attribute to int), this runs fine in 2010. I tried simply changing the uir in 2010, and then using it in 2009, but 2009 complains that the uir is from a newer version (understandable). If there is any workaround that would let me continue to use 2009 for the time that would be great.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I opened the UIR in 2009 (but I have 2009 SP1) and it still showed that the default value for the first column was a string. I didn't have any problems changing it to a numeric int, and then building and running the project without error.
Here are a few things you can try:
1) Change the default value to a string. OK out of the dialog, re-enter the dialog, and change it back to Numeric int. Resave and see if the problem has gone away.
2) You said you get a ".UIR is from a newer version" error when opening the 2010 UIR in 2009. Does the UIR still open if you click okay? Often times this will work just fine. Assuming you don't have any problems with this, make a minor change to the UIR in 2009, such as moving the table to the left, and then back to the right and then re-save. See if your program works now.

Setting a default initial value to a CHAR type field in a custom table

Is it possible to set a default initial value to a field in a customer table(Ztable) that is not SPACE? SAP sets the initial value to " " space for datatype CHAR.
I am looking at creating a field in a table that would always default to 'X' on creation of a new row.

I believe this cannot be done..
If you are inserting the row through a program then you can insert the field value to be 'X'.. If the value is not passed ..Then it will be blank..
If you are using table maintenance then in the PAI ..you can insert values..
