Shared calendar issues

We have an exchange 2013 environment that we host here. Everything has been working fine except for the fact that I have a half dozen users that can not see certain shared calendars. It is not the same calendars for all users. For example... I can't see
our vacation calendar. Other users can see it but may not be able to see an employees calendar that I can see. Now... here is the kicker. On my other laptop running the same OS and same version of outlook I can see all the calendars. On my laptop where I am
having the issue if I go off site I can see all the calendars just fine. It is only when that laptop is on the local network that I can't see all the calendars. My desktop which is also local has always been able to see all the calendars. It is not account
specific because my account on another machine does not have the issue. I have uninstalled accounts, reinstalled accounts, disconnected and rejoined the domain and still no solution. I have at least six users experiencing the same issue. Some are laptops some
are desktops. It only happens on the local network not remotely. It is the most frustrating issue because outside engineers we have hired to fix the issue can't determine where the problem may lie. I am hoping someone at Microsoft can figure this out.

Hi,
I still need to clarify something, by users can not see certain shared calendars, do they get any error message when they try to access the calendars?
Based on the description, it's not account related but seems to be something related to Outlook. For these users who can't see the calendars, let them start Outlook in Safe Mode and check the result:
Press Win + R, type "outlook.exe /safe" in the blank box, press Enter.
In Outlook Safe Mode add-ins will be disabled, check whether users are able to see the shared calendars to determine if the problem is caused by add-ins.
If there's no issue viewing the shared calendars in Outlook Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins from File -> Options -> Add-Ins to verify which one caused the issue.

  • Outlook 2010 - Shared Calendar Issue - "No Connection"

I'm experiencing problems with Shared Calendars in Outlook 2010 as well as when creating a new meeting request.
When I try to open a shared calendar it shows the following error message: "no connection".
My co-workers and hundreds of different users are not facing the same problem.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix that? (We are all using the same Exchange Server 2010)

I had the same problem where I could open a shared calendar in OWA but it would not work in Outlook 2010. When I clicked on the shared folder I got the error message 'outlook cannot open this folder'. The problem ended up being that the person
whose calendar was being shared was hidden on the exchange server ('hide from exchange address lists' had been selected). To resolve the issue we had to unhide the user, update the OAB on the server and then update the OAB on the desktop. We could then share
the calendar, accept the share and then hide the user again.
Sounds like I have the same issue too.  Where do I go to do all the resolve part?  Where do I unhide the user?  I am guessing OAB means offline address book.
    Thanks

  • Calendar app - shared calendar issues

Hi there, I'm new to the mac platform...
I was wondering if anyone can help with my set up of the calendar app with a shared google calendar.
what we have is an office calendar on google with each person having a calendar (within the same id) - it means that we can check where everyone is/what meetings are happening etc...
however, the problem is that the notifications appear on everyones machines for every calendar, even if they are not ticked in the list in the app.
Is there a way to only allow notifications from one of the calendars or will we just have to switch off the notifications/reminders
    thanks

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness shows up, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. If this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    Good luck!

  • Calendar sharing color issue

This is an issue that is strange.  It just doesn't make any sense.
I have Droid X running 2.3.  I am running Google Calendar with shared Calendar.
In the Month view, every calendar event is represented in the color blue.
In the Weekly view, every calendar event is represented according to each Calendar's color.
I have two Calendars for my setup.  Blue for me and Yellow for my wife.
So, the phone has the correct data.  Its just not showing it in 30 day view.
This would be a very easy fix, if we can just default to the Weekly view.
    Thats not an option either.
Is there a fix on the way I hope?
Also, along the same line...with my original Droid...we had corporate calendar and personal Calendar.
Its missing on the Droid X.  Is that the issue?

    Hi,
From your description, OWA works well, then the permission is suitable. I recommend you turn off cached mode on Outlook, restart Outlook and check the result. If it works well, then you can re-enable cached mode.
Hope this can be helpful to you.

  • Issues syncing/sharing calendars on iPhone 6

    Some questions about sharing calendars...
First some background. My husband and I just upgrade from an iPhone 3 (yes, so retro) to an iPhone 6. Clearly this is a big change for us. We lived through an era where we shared my apple ID for a while. But while on the 3 we eventually graduated to having separate Apple IDs, while still sharing iTunes account, Calendars and Notes.
So now we're on the 6. All of our stuff was transferred over to our individual phones. And although we each have up-to-date events in our calendars (we can each see everything in there, up to time of transfer), we are no longer hooked up to each other (i.e. when he adds an event, it's not showing up on my calendar and vice versa). A note: We share 5 different color-coded calendars, one for each member of our family. I also use these same calendars on our family iPad and my laptop.
I understand that Family Sharing will allow us to share a single "family" calendar, but it will not allow us to use the multiple, color-coded calendars that we've already started years ago, correct??
We understand the steps to manually share each of our 5 calendars. After opening the calendar app, he clicks on "calendars" on the bottom. Using the calendars listed under iCloud, he clicked the "i" to the right of each calendar and add me under "shared with." Here are our problems… when he tries to share with me and add any of the 5 specific calendars, it duplicates what is already existing on my calendar (up to the point of data transfer). Does that make sense? And when I try to share with him, well, I can't. His name will not populate under the "shared with" section. Yes, he is in my contacts.
Does it matter who sends the share invite to whom?
Why is he not showing up when I try to add him? Everyone in his contact list shows up as an option when he tries to share with me. Barely any of my contacts are available when I try to share with him. And he is definitely not showing up
Are we going about this totally wrong?
I'm assuming Family Sharing is not an option because we both want to see and be able to edit each of our 5 family calendars. Am I assuming correctly? I think we'll try to use Family Sharing for iTunes purchases, but I haven't been able to even think about that yet, because we wanted to get our calendars working.
Any advice is much appreciated! Thanks in advance!
    Amy
P.S. I'm posting this in multiple forums, since I'm not sure what the issue is! Sorry if you see all posts!

I just figured it out how to fix this issues.
    Steps:
    Go to
    1- Settings
    2- Cellular
    3- Enable LTE
Change Voice & Data to Data Only
This should fix the issue incoming calls.. I'm using this setting for over a week and never had any issues with incoming calls.
Please let me know if this works for you
    Thanks

  • Ovi Calendar server back end lost shared calendar ...

Setup a shared calendar between the Ovi web suite, and two devices, a C5 and an N8
Day 1 - Syncing fine between web and phones
Day 2 - Go into web page, now the calendar is shared with 0 others! Each phone also has a separate calendar. No configuration changes were made between days 1 and 2
It seems this to be a major bug in the Ovi Calendar suite? Is the Calendar service now deprecated and shutting down? The Calendar web page looks and feels like it's not being actively updated and supported

Thanks so much for your comment ~morgen.
Sorry, I should have mentioned, that it what my first thought so I tested by ensuring the email address associated with the user account (not hosted on the server but by Google Apps) is recieving all other mail.
    I have also tried:
    - Setting all accounts (calendar, email and contact card with associated email address) in another local user on a defferent Mac. So it's not a local user or Mail app issue.
    - Sending invites from different Calendar apps and email accounts - iCloud, Gmail (both using Apple Calendar and the web interface).
That's why I came back around to thinking it must be calendar server related. However is there is absolutly no conntact with the server with incoming email invites I must be looking in the wrong place (and the wrong forum - sorry!).
Does anyone have any ideas where I should be focusing my efforts?
    Many thanks in advance.

  • Allow multiple users to edit in a shared calendar

Some co-workers and I have a shared calendar in Outlook 2010 (separate from our personal, individual calendars) and we'd all like to be able to edit (add, delete, etc) to it.  The creator of the calendar shared it with us and gave us all the appropriate
permissions to be able to edit it, however, only what the creator enters/edits appears for everyone.  Anything additional or changed doesn't appear.
For example, User 1 creates and shares the calendar.  User 2 and User 3 are given "editor" permissions.  User 2 adds an event to the calendar for all to view, but User 1 and User 3 cannot view it.
How can we create a calendar so that User 1, User 2, and User 3 can all view and edit this shared calendar?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
How does User1 share the new created calendar to User2 and User3? Because the shared calendar is User2 created that is not a default Calendar, please share it by the following steps in Outlook 2010:
    1. Create a new calendar in User1’s account.
    2. Right-click the new calendar, click Share > Share Calendar.
    3. In the Sharing invitation window, select User2 and User3 in the To field.
    4. Check Recipient can add, edit and delete items in this calendar to give the recipients Editor permission.
    5. Click Send to share calendar to User2 and User3.
Then User2 and User3 would receive a message in Inbox folder. They can just click
Open the Calendar button to open it. Then check whether the issue persists.

  • Family Sharing Calendar not "sharing" events among family members

    Hi,
I'm hoping someone has a similar issue and can shed some light.
I've setup a Family with myself as the organizer.
We have 2 iMacs, 1 MacBook Pro, 3 iPhones, and 3 iPads used by my three family members.
The "Family" calendar now shows up on all devices but events made on a single device are not showing on any of the other devices.
I've read all I can find and it appears to me that the "Family" shared calendar should sync across all family members without the need to "share" the calendar as we did in the past.
Can anyone confirm that is the case?
As a quick fix I simply "shared" the Family calendar (using email address's of the family members) and it is working, but this is essentially the same way we used to share a calendar.  Just doesn't seem to make sense to me.
Thanks in advance for any insight!
    Jim

I am having the same problem. I have done some testing and have found the following:
If I create an event in the Family Calendar on my Mac it shares it with all devices; however, if I create a new event in the Family Calendar on any of my iOS devices it doesn't share with any of my devices including my Mac. This has only been an issue since I upgraded to iOS 8.1.
I hope someone can help clarify if this truly is an iOS 8.1 issue and when they might come out with another update. This is a big problem for families trying to stay up-to-date with each others schedules.
    Thanks.

  • IPhone 4S Outlook 2010 shared Calendar problem

    Hello all,
There problem to see in Outlook 2010 shared calendar in iPhone 4S. In iPhone 4S there is seen owner calendar of added Exchange Server account, but I need to see other one person shared calendar which is impossible to see. I see in iPhone 4S two calendars as added, but when I open calendar I see entries only for one account.
Where is problem and how to solve it?
    Thanks.
    Best Regards,
    Girts

    Thanks

  • Can't share, unshare or add members to a shared calendar. What happened

I am the owner of a shared calendar but the option to unshare, share or add new members is no longer there. How do I get it back? I set up a family calendar a few years back and all of my family use it to communicate with the other member. I now need to add a new member but when I go through the procedure to add a person the option is not available. In the calendar edit screen it shows me as the owner of the calendar both on my iPad, iPhone and online using my PC. ONline it shows all of the invitees in a list as it should but there is no option to change sharing status or add a new member. As an experiment I added a new calendar and I can set the sharing status on it and add new members.
What has happened to my ownership status on this calendar and how do I get it back?

    TheMurf1947,
Not sure if it relevant but I just updated my iPad 4 to IOS 8.1.2 and now I keep getting 'share my location unavailable' when I try and switch the share my location ability off.  I dont have the same issue with my Iphone 5 which is running IOS 8.1.1.  Seems they may have either introduced another bug.
Its in Privacy --> Location Services --> Share my Location.

  • ICal Server Shared Calendars "403" Error

    Greetings,
We are currently running a 10.7.4 Server with 10.7.4 clients. The problem is with the calendar system's sharing funtion. Some users will consistantly receive an error message "403" Stating that the user does not have permission to edit the item when they edit an item or change an existing event to another user's shared calendar. After some troublshooting I found that if I made the claendar in question the default calendar in iCal, I was able to create vents without problem. I have tried removing the problemed users from that calendar's list of shared users, and changing permissions back and forth from Read to Read/Write without any success. There are no iCloud or MobileMe accounts on any of the client machines, a pertinent negative as searching for a resolution to this issue yeilds many similar problems related to those services.
    Summary:
Creating or editing an event in a shared calendar within iCal (while not the host of sdaid calendar) results in a error code 403. However, when the user in question changes their default calendar to the shared calendar, there is no issue creating new events. The issue is only persistant with a few users. Other users have no issue manipulting existing records in the same shared calendar.
    Configuration:
    OS X Lion Server (10.7.4)
    iCal service is configured properly
    Clients are all running 10.7.4
    Screenshot of the error message:
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

    I have got same problem.
After importing the calendar user can't create new appointments.
It isnt possible to add a new appointment.
let me know if there is an solution?

  • Weird google calendar issue on iPhone 5/iOS 6.1

    Hey all,
So I just noticed an issue on my new iPhone 5 w/ iOS 6.1:
I use a google calendar with several shared calendars from co-workers. In the past, to set this up, all I did was add a gmail account as an Exchange account, go to https://www.google.com/calendar/syncselect, and select all the shared calendars I want synced to my iPhone.
Now when I do that, the shared calendars do NOT show up. In fact, the only way I can get them to show up is to add the gmail account as a GMAIL account - NOT as an Exchange account - and then go to https://www.google.com/calendar/syncselect and select the shared calendars I want synced to my iPhone. The only problem here, though, is that then I don't have push email.
Thus the solution seems to add the email part of my google account as an Exchange account, and the calendar part as a Gmail account. This seems like a really inelegant solution. Anybody experienced similar issues and figure out how to make it all work from one account?
    Thanks!

I don't know for certain as I'm not having this problem and have multiple Google calendars syncing through Exchange. However, Google has dropped support for Exchange except on the paid accounts (I think) at the end of January. If you were already using it, it will continue to work. I wonder if, because you're trying to add new calendars, it won't let you.
Except for having two entries in your settings, I'm not sure what the problem is with adding the calendars separately. It should end up looking just the same. I agree, not perfect, but, how often do you look at that part of settings?
    Best of luck.

  • How to sync MS Exchange shared calendars and allow permissions?

    Hi Everyone,
We have a SBS2008 and MS Exchange with which we have a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) policy to work. We are having some issues in syncing shared calendars for conference room bookings as well as some other issues. We have an iPhone 5s and everyone has updated to iOS 8.
How do we allow one of our managers to access a shared calendar on their iPhone to book a room from a shared calendar and ensure that that is reflected across the calendar?
    Thank you.

    Hello,
Are the Rooms you wish to book stored as Resources in Microsoft Exchange?
I have an app in the store called Roomr which connects to Exchange and allows you to view and book meeting rooms. This would enable your managers to book meeting rooms in advance and the data is stored in Exchange so it will sync with all users.
I know you want to use the Calendar app provided, but Roomr has the added benefit of providing you with an at-a-glance availability of meeting rooms, enabling you to see which ones are free instantly, without having to check multiple schedules.
It's free to try out and might help solve your problem https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/roomr-check-meeting-room-availability/id72284240 4?ls=1&mt=8

  • Users cannot edit a shared calendar of a shared mailbox that was deleted from the cloud and recreated on premise

    Description:
The following example account [email protected] is an on premise AD account being used as a shared mailbox in the cloud. We have discovered that regardless of what we do, not a single user can edit the calendar entries.
The following message is shown in Outlook Click to Run 2013 when an entry. "New appointment" button is also greyed out, including "Calendar Permissions" and some others.
This problem started when the shared mailbox was created wrongly by creating it in the cloud first and we had to delete it and start over. The "in the cloud" user was deleted and the same user was created in AD on-premise with the same account name
and then Dir Synced with the cloud. A license was assigned, a user mailbox on exchange online created and the type was converted to a shared mailbox and Editor rights were defined on the calendar folder for specific users.
    Actions performed:
Action01: gave users Editor rights on calendar folder through powershell
Result01: Rights correctly added and can be seen when get-mailboxfolderpermission is ran
Action02: Opened calendar with Outlook and tried to edit entries
Result02: Error message pops up saying "You don't have permission to create an entry in this folder. Right click the folder and check..."
Action03: Opened calendar with OWA of users
Result03: Users can edit the shared calendar on OWA
Action04: Gave users Full Access permission on mailbox with automapping on
Result04: Users can edit calendar in Outlook
Action05: Gave users Full Access permission on mailbox with automapping off (mailbox no longer visible in outlook)
Result05: Users cannot edit calendar in Outlook
Action06: Removed Full Access permission on mailbox for users
Result06: User cannot edit calendar in Outlook
Action07: Removed [email protected] from on-premise AD, performed dirsync, removed account from ms online using remove-msoluser -removefromrecyclebin
Result07: No trace of the account was anywhere to be found.
Action08: Created new [email protected] account on on-premise AD, assigned o365 license to user including exchange online license
Result08: New empty Exchange online mailbox was created
Action09: gave users Editor rights on calendar folder through powershell
Result09: Rights correctly added and can be seen when get-mailboxfolderpermission is ran
(Note: whenever mailboxfolder permissions are modified for this mailbox it's as if they are ran THREE times in a row, the first time they are applied and the powershell gives immediately 3 exceptions behind this:
An existing permission entry was found for user: [email protected]

Any other mailbox does not do this when setting mailboxfolder permissions)
Action10: Opened calendar with Outlook and tried to edit entries
Result10: Error message pops up saying "You don't have permission to create an entry in this folder. Right click the folder and check..."
Action11: Tried on a fresh new pc with first time logon
    Result11: did not help
    Additional information:
We have seen this problem with another user which was recreated, when he shares his calendar with others and people get the calendar invite email and click "Open Calendar" they receive a popup "The folder cannot be found".
My first impression points to a corruption/bug in the GAL on exchange online, since we're using o365 for midsize bussinesses we cannot use the AdressList role to expose the adresslist cmdlts for deeper troubleshooting.
    PS:
Issue tested on different computers and with different user accounts, not a single user can edit the calendar of [email protected] when editor rights are given.
Noticed when editing rights for the shared mailbox in powershell after the first confirmation line
Office 2013 is click to run was updated to latest version, version number: 15.0.4659.1001

    Greetings Gil,
I haven't heard of that one.
    Questions:
Does the calendar in question show up in the "Subscriptions" category of iCal?
If you remove all accounts from iCal > Preferences > Accounts and quit and re-open iCal, does the calendar in question vanish? If so, does the calendar come back when you re-input the servers you need into  iCal > Preferences > Accounts?
Can you provide a screen shot of your calendar sidebar.
While you answer those questions, some troubleshooting to try:
Try dragging one of your other calendars above this calendar that won't delete and then quit / re-open iCal and attempt to delete the calendar in question.
    Failing that:
    1. First make an iCal backup:  Click on each calendar on the left hand side of iCal one at a time highlighting it's name and then going to File Export > Export and saving the resulting calendar file to a logical location for safekeeping.
    2. Go to iCal > Quit iCal
    3. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
    4. Launch iCal and test.
If the issue persists at this point:
Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
---NOTE: Removing these files may remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
    Hope that helps!

  • Best practices for office 365 SHARED CALENDAR for whole school / organization

    hi
we need guidance on best practice for setting up SHARED CALENDAR on Office365 exchange server for entire organization (school)of150 staff.
    Requirements
+ all staff should have read only / reviewer permissions on calendar
+handful staff should have editor permissions on calendar
+ the calendar should synchronise custom categories and colors
    Current Solution
    at the moment we have found that a shared mailbox is the best solution because;
    - allusers can add the shared mailbox on outlook 2010as additional mailbox as readonly
    - all the categories & colors for the calendarare automatically synchronised because the color categories are stored within this mailbox.
    - you can edit calendar permissions in outlook to allow some users as "editor" of the calendar.Problem with Current Solution
the problem however is that the users also need to access this...

    Hi Aleksei,
I think Inactive mailboxes in Exchange Online is the feature that you want. This feature makes it possible for you to preserve (store and archive) the contents of deleted mailboxes indefinitely.
A mailbox becomes inactive when an In-Place Hold or a
Litigation Hold is placed on the mailbox before the corresponding Office 365 user account is deleted.
But I'm afraid that it might be impossible to "easily share certain folders or even whole mailbox with people in the company". As can been seen from below articles, this only allows administrators, compliance officers, or records managers
to use the In-Place eDiscovery feature in Exchange Online to access and search the contents of an inactive mailbox:
