Signature not showing

I have added a signature via My Settings. It is simple text and yet it doesn't appear on anything I post.

It won't let me post an image since the account is not verified yet. Does that affect the signature?

Post in there and an admin will verify your account. This could take a while to happen though, it's a manual process.

    Not being able to find anything after searching high and low, I thought I would try my luck here: when I certify a PDF file using a visible signature in Adobe Acrobat Professional that signature does not show when I open the file in Preview or print it from Preview. Preview's Inspector information also claims that I can make changes, which I instructed Adobe not to allow.

    Try re-uploading the PDF and then updating the course. Sometimes the conversion doesn't take and the tracking doesn't apply correctly to a PDF.

  • Digital Signature Not Showing Up in Saved PDF

    I am frequently sent pdf contracts that need to be filled out, signed and returned.  I turn the pdf into a form and then add a signature field, click "certify with visible signature," sign it and save it as a pdf.  But then when I email the signed pdf it has all the form content but doesn't show the signature. Same for when I open the file in Preview.  The signature only shows up in Acrobat.  Can anyone help explain what I am doing wrong?

    It was dsaks  who originally asking about creating a digital signature and that's what the core of this thread is about. When Mobius Strip  asked about flattening the signature into a bitmap image that I suggested using a custom signature appearance, because the progenitor of the thread was asking about digital signatures. If they can get by with using a custom stamp then that's fine by me, but that wasn't the thread topic.

    There is no licensing involved here. The PDF specification is public and the Acrobat SDK even has an example of how to create your own signature plug-in. When it comes to the actual cryptographic operations we license the software from RSA. As far as how the signature is created, and how it should be processed, that's all covered by public facing documentation. In fact, Apple is more than capable of processing signatures using their Keychain utility, it's just that they have elected not to include that functionality into Preview.
    If your job is to monitor this forum and assist users, why couldn't you manage to suggest that the other users use the stamps feature, since it was clear that what they were wanting was only the signature image? These folks are spending hundreds and thousands of dollars on your products and they deserve better than this.
    It's not my job to monitor the forum. I chime in on digital signature issues because it's a complex subject and there are so few people who understand the minutia of how they work. If dsaks hadn't added  "certify with visible signature," to the original post I would have skip this completely, but he/she did so I tried to answer their question.
    Finally, it's a bit disingenuous when you stated "The image does not display at all, except in Acrobat/Acrobat Reader". It just doesn't display in the free Mac Preview app. There are other third party signature handlers that will process and display a digital signature in a PDF file, but there are not a lot of them in free PDF viewers. As I said above, if dsaks can get by with a custom stamp then great, but if he/she needs a cryptographically sound digital signature then there is no reason why not to created it because everyone can get the free Reader for the Mac, Windows and Linux platforms.

    Has anyone found a fix for getting your signature files to show up in Mail? Or maybe I'm missing something. They've been created and I can see them on the account, but when I compose a message, the sig doesn't show up and there's nothing in the Signature dropdown.

    You say "can see them on the account", but please clarify whether after creating a Signature, you first acted to associate it with one particular account? Creation of a Signature without first choosing an account, puts them in location that is not immediately associated with any actual email account. That is done in an additional step, by dragging the Signature to the desired account -- see:

    have it selected [i think][ in preferences, but when i do a new message, there's no sig, anfd the "select sig" window only shows "none".

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
    I will try to explain the signature setup using my preferences as an example.
    Open the Mail>Preferences...>Signatures window.
    In my case, I have four signatures. They are all listed when I click on "All Signatures" in the left column, but the "Choose Signature:" option at the bottom of the window is grayed out, which is understandable because an account has not been selected. You can add or delete signatures in the middle column with the buttons.
    Next I have three accounts listed under "All Signatures" in the left column and each one of them has a different set of signatures. When I click on an account it displays the signatures available for that account. It also activates the "Choose Signature:" (Make your choice here) option at the bottom of the window.
    What do you see on your Signatures window?

  • Outlook 2013 Signatures not showing up at all after transferring signatures from Outlook 2010

    Hello, 
    first time on here asking a question needing help.  I recently bought a new machine, windows 7 Pro and Outlook 2013. I successfully brought over my .pst files from my old machine running Outlook 2010, Windows 7. This was great and easy, got to keep
    all my settings, rules, and private folders for Outlook 2010 right into Outlook 2013.  Then it was time to move my signatures over, I did so with ease however when I went to my signatures in 2013, NOTHING was present, not 1 out of 30 signatures I have.
    I sure dont want to rewrite each one over again. I restarted, made sure the signatures were in the right spot in Outlook 2013. I also tried putting the signatures in another folder and importing them in, nothing.  What is the deal?  Can someone please
    tell me what I'm doing wrong or has anyone had this issue?  Please help. and thanks. 

    Just to check, so you went into C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Signatures on your old machine and copied ALL of the files & folders you found there, and moved them over to the same folder location on your new machine.
    After doing that when you start Outlook and look in File, Options, Mail, Signatures you see nothing listed under "Select signature to edit" at all?

  • Digital Signature Not Showing Up

    I'm in the process of creating a form, which has two digital signature fields on it.  (One for the supervisor, one for the supervisor's employee.)  I then submit this to a classic ASP script (process_form.asp#FDF) which contains code to save the fields to an FDF.  The code is below:

    I then open the FDF back up in the browser (which of course merges it with the original PDF) and it shows all the information I filled out in all of the fields EXCEPT the digital signatures.  I know the signature's in there, because I can see evidence of it when I open up the FDF in a hex editor, or even notepad.exe. (I can see my email address, for example.)
    What am I doing wrong?  How do I get the signature(s) to show back up after the form is signed?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Just wanted to update this thread for anyone who might have a similar issue - I solved my problem; it was quite a bit easier than I thought it would be.
    The documentation says to concatenate the original PDF with the FDF generated when you submit the PDF form to your ASP processing script, so...that's what I did, using the ADODB.Stream server object.  The only thing I did with the FDF Toolkit was use it to save the FDF to a temporary file so I could read it back with ADODB.Stream.  I then wrote the PDF and the FDF back to the Response object and voila, I have my signed PDF, along with all the fields on the PDF form stored into a SQL database (except the signature.)
    For anyone thinking about storing the signature into the database, I suppose you could, but it's generally much easier to write a PDF to the disk and store a link to it in your database.

    Ok, so when I "sign" a document in Adobe Reader, I can see the signature jsut fine. then when I try to fax the document using an internet fax program, the signature disappears on the preview and then does not send with the fax. can Anyone help me with this?

    In order to use transitions properly you need to trim back the clips first.
    If you dont you will see repeated frames.

  • HTMl Signature not showing properly when reply/forward a message.

    I am a new user of Outlook 2013, I have a HTML signature which worked properly in Outlook 2010.
    The signature also work properly in Outlook 2013, when I am sending a new message, but the problem arise when I try to reply/forward a message. My replied/forwarded message came to right side. Which should be under my email signature.
    Can anyone help me for resolve the issue.

    From the description, when you reply/forward an email, the signature appears under the quoted email, am I correct?
    Have you tried open Outlook in safe mode and test again? Press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type
    outlook /safe and press Enter.
    In addition, please try recreating the signature and test again.

    Only Apple Account Security could help at this point. You can try calling Apple Support in Canada - you'll have to find one of the several ways, such as Skype, to call an 800 number from outside of the relevant country - and ask for Account Security and see if they can help. Or you can find a friend who speaks Chinese and ask them to help you talk to Apple Support in China. There are really no other options that I know of.
    Note, by the way, that these are user-to-user support forums. You aren't speaking with Apple when you post here.

  • Issue in Lion re Graphics Not Showing in html Email Signature

    After I upgraded to Lion, I created an html signature with the graphics portion residing on Dropbox, and it worked without a hitch until about 10 days ago.  Then a question mark in a blue square started appearing sporadically in place of the graphic. Now, in place of the graphic, I'm getting that question mark in a blue square 100% of the time in place of the graphic on Dropbox.  The .webarchive file in my -/Library . . .  mail/signatures folder that no longer reveals the graphic in my emails, however, works fine when opened up in Safari.  I've tried rewriting the code, but it's of no avail.  The files open up beautifully in Safari with the graphic, but in the signature box in Preferences and in the emails themselves, it's that blue box that keeps showing up.  Does anyone have any idea why I'm not able to access my graphic from mac mail and how I can fix the problem?

    As of two days ago, I am having basically the same problem as described:
    imap account on my University, it always synced just fine with my iphone. Two days ago it stopped pulling new messages from the server, and moreover, it also does not show the recent ones it showed already, but only shows me approx. 100 really old messages (6 month old).
    Whenever I sync, it pretends to do it (sync date gets updates), but it does not fetch the messages.
    On my desktop and on my ipad2 (EXACT SAME SETTINGS), everything is ok, messages are pulled from the server (just as it was ok on my iphone two days ago, and I did not change anything).
    When I go to the desktop, and move a new message (one this is not showin up on my iphone) to a subfolder of inbox or to the trash folder, then I suddenly can see this message also in the subfolder or in the trash on my iphone.
    I have deleted the account and set it up anew, same result: the same 6 month old messages get uploaded, and that's it. I can delete also these old messages, and then they are gone, but also this does not pull up any additional messages.
    Any ideas?

Yesterday, the signatures were stacking instead of switching to the one I wanted to choose.

    I had this and fixed it.
    I had upgraded to Mountain Lion and my signatures in Mail were fine. But then about a week later, I got a new computer and used Migration Assistant to copy my stuff to the new machine. Upon opening Mail, I had all the correct Signature information in the Preferences>Signatures window, but nothing worked.
    After lots of hunting, I found the Signature Folder. It's in:
    Yourusername>Library>Mail>V2>MailData>Signatures
    Looking at my previous setup (which works) I saw in that folder two types of files: .webarchive and .siganture
    Looking in my new machine's Signature folder, I saw only the .webarchive folders, not the .signature folders
    Since this was literally a clone of my previous setup to a new machine, here's what I did:
    1. Quit Mail
    2. In Problem machine, go to
    Yourusername>Library>Mail>V2>MailData>Signatures
    3. Move the Signatures folder someplace safe, but out of the MailData folder
    4. Get the Signatures Folder from the working install (like a backup) and copy it to the MailData folder on the problematic machine
    5. Start Mail on the problem machine
    This worked for me. I don't know why Migration Assistant didn't copy the full signature folder, but this fixed it. It worked perfectly partly because I had just backed up with Carbon Copy Cloner and the very next day set up the new machine. I don't know where Lion or earlier versions of mail stored signatures, but the absence of the .signature filetype seems to be the problem.

The problem I'm having is the digital signatures are not showing up when I combind into one PDF. I need the digital signatures to show up because they make the document (s) official.     It is not true. Most documents have pages numbered (like "page 1 of 5"). I never sign documents that do not have this page numbering and each page initialized. This way you cannot add/remove pages in a printed document without forging initials. Electronic documents (PDF) enforce this rule automatically.

I have seen some letters that were created more than a year ago, stored as html documents and they do show the signature. Seems like something definitely has changed, but I'm unable to pinpoint the cause of this problem. I would appreciate any help in solving this issue.

    I guess this is not the correct forum and the correct one would be the product specific forum.
    As per my view on this issue, I think it is purely because of the user handling. First thing to check is why it is getting saved as zip? Is system saving it as zip by default or the user is doing that? Then in the zip file, is the image file present? If yes, open the html file and check how was the image referenced in the page? It should have a relative reference for proper display, absolute reference won't work.
