Single Finished product needs to be shipped in 2 separate crates

Hi,
I have a unique business requirement
The company manufactures a finished product that needs to be shipped in 2 crates
How would this delivery split be achived in SAP?
Note we dont want to use BOM
just one material but need to be shipped in 2 crates.
Thanks

hello, friend.
if the order quantity of the material is more than 1, i suppose you can do delivery splits with the packing option.
however, if your quantity is 1, and you wish to ship the finished product using at least 2 different delivery documents, i believe you must use a BOM with components. the components need to be packed separately. the BOM will most likely be crucial since you would want the components to be specified in the delivery documents, and they would most likely be of different specifications.
you can try another alternative without BOM by using alternate units of measure. for example: 1 unit finished product = 2 pcs of product. you can then crate each pc.
regards.

• Finished Products At Real Real Cost

Hello Gurus,
I'm working on a requierement where the cost of all finished products need to be calculated according to:
1) Real material price of all components (raw materials and only raw materials of semifinished products)
2) Real material consumption of all components (raw materials and raw materials of semifinished products)
The actual costing structure is configured to calculate costs on the material list and operations. Also, the system is configured with the standard price control for semifinished and finished products and MAP for raw materials. We haven't activate the material ledger yet.
Standard cost cannot be modified.
In resume:
Standar costing and all the process is working fine, but we need to calculate real raw material consumption and real raw material consumption of the semifinished product that is being used in the finished product at real prices.
Thanks in advance.

Change the material masters to be moving average.

• Single raw material with output of 2 finish product

All,
In our scenario, we have the pressing machine which have the dye to create the right and left bumper of the car in a single stock . if we give the single raw material , the ouput will be two finish products 1. right bumper and 2. left bumper.
while confirming the order, how we can get two fert?

Create Left Bumper And Right bumper as FERT, Maintain a co product Indicator for Both and maintain Joint production details in MRP 2view ( ex 50 % for Left bumper and 5o % for right bumper ) the cost will proportioned accordingly
IN BOM
Create a BOM for Left Bumper
and maintain component as raw material with qty
and Right bumper as 1- and maoinatin co product indictor in item detail
ANd save
WHile doing GR in MB31 System will propose Both Left and Right bumper with 101 movement type.

• Billing of Finished Product (TAN) and DIEN Material

Hello,
There is a requirement by a user that a finished product and a service material needs to be invoiced together in a single invoice.
The dien material has an item category TAD.
Please let me know the configuration steps to achieve this requirement.
Alternatively any other options to meet the requirement.
Thanks

In Std system settings, System settings, it will not allow to create single invoice by combining order related & delivery related items. To achieve this you have to fine tune copy control settings, but i dont think its feasible solution. just because of this one requirement changing the control , instead for this requirement if you can have seperate document types, then hope you can achieve this.
Play with copy control settings in invoice split criteria, copying requirements & reference number.
For initial testing, Maintain the above fields as blank & run a test cycle.
Update the results in forum.

• STO for semi finished product along with returnable package

Dear Experts,
I am transferring semi finished product along with returnable package from Manufacturing to depot, for that i am creating purchase order (two line items in po, one is semi finish and other is returnable package) and creating delivery through VL10B.
system creates delivery, showing the item category NLN for both line items i..e semi finished and returnable package and billing(vf01) is coming for both item.
my requirement is billing to be only semi finished, returnable package should be update only qty billing should not coming for returnable package
for that which item category have to maintain and where it maintain for returnable package and how it flows from mm to SD?
Regards
sai krishna

The packaging’s material master record should use the material type VERP for packaging and the item category group LEIH. The item category group LEIH is the SAP standard for returnable packaging.
TAL (the item category for returnable packaging) in the shipping unit
header, then when you create the delivery, SAP will also create an item TAL for that shipping material in the delivery. When you goods issue the delivery, SAP will record that this shipping material has been issued to the customer and must be returned. Note that you only have to price the returnable packaging in the returnable packaging issue order document. It does not need to
be priced in the sales order and cannot be in this method.
Check if this all ok, rest please note returnable packaging material behaves in same way as packing material

• All the raw materials for finished products

Can anyone please help me how to find all the raw materials for a finished product. The desired result which i am expecting is same that we get through TCode CS15.
Please help me to solve this issue.
anyone who answers will be rewarded..
thanx in advance

Hi,
Please note what you are talking is multi-level blow up & the logic given by me is for Single Level blow up. In any case you can modify the above mentioned logic as follows so that you will get the desired result.
Once you get all the first child materials of a BOM i.e. 800024 then check in MAST if there is a BOM for this child material. IF you get sy-subrc = 4 in Select of MAST it means there is no BOM Present for this child material hence no need to take any action. However for child material 800120 you will get sy-subrc = 0 indicating that there is a BOM for this child material so write these child material in ANOTHER INTERNAL TABLE SAY 'X' & DO NOT WRITE THIS CHILD MATERIAL in your current internal table. Follow this procedure for all child materials of this BOM. Once your thru with all child materials. loop at internal table 'X' which contains all materials which are haveing a BOM so repeat the above mentioned procedure for all child materials of material from 'X" i.e. in your case 800120. Stop this process till internal table 'X' is empty. I hope this helps,

• Solution for intermittent use of a single Adobe product?

I may be a unique case, because I do not want or really need all of the products that Adobe provides my for $30/month. Here is my dilemma:
I use Adobe illustrator infrequently, sometimes intensively for a month or so, but then I will not use it for the better part of a year. This is how I use the application.
So, I'm feel that being financially penalized for continuing to use Illustrator, since I pay for it every single month of my life, but use it infrequently. For example, if I use the program 20 times in 10 years (which is about how I do use it), then I am paying (according to the current student deal which I am sure will change in the coming 10 years time), $3600.00 over the course of 10 years to use the program 20 times. That works out to $180.00 per use.
Obviously I am not in good conscience able to renew my subscription with Adobe, and would have ended it earlier were it not for the severe financial penalty Adobe imposes on users for breaking a subscription contract before its official expiration.
Before I go, I just wonder if Adobe has any care for users such as myself. I know one unsatisfactory response already: I can by the full version, not get incremental updates, and will need to pay full price for each major upgrade. That's a bad deal too. How can a infrequent user of a single Adobe product (Illustrator) use the application for a reasonable amount of money? I don't need every Adobe product under the sun nor do I like the fact that somewhere in Adobe's hierarchy they think that is some kind of advantage to users. To me, that is product bloat, bordering on spam marketing. If I want a sip of water, I have to drink from the fire hydrant. This is so bone-headed.
I suppose, overall, I will advise my students to use what software the company they work for uses. But as far as a personal graphics package for independent work, I cannot recommend Adobe products anymore because of this pricing scheme, which really does penalize people who only use a product one in a while. But before I go, am I missing something? Is my assessment of this dilemma on target? I know I can no longer afford Adobe products, but I also want to advise my students in a way that is fair to them. Currently I am working on a module that shows all of the vector mapping graphics programs and breaks them down according to their feature set and cost for the user.
I've been using Adobe Illustrator for over two decades, and I will be sad to not have it available to me in the future, but this new business model and pricing structure no longer makes sense for me. Yes, considering the time and energy I've put into the program this is an emotional decision, but ending my relationship with Adobe is the healthy choice. It's like walking away from an abusive relationship of the passive-agressive variety. Adobe, what a drag!

On the face of it, the $30 for every monthly use seems like it might be a good solution for intermittent users. But, as a designers, I think many of us might like to take a brief look at an idea (sometimes just for the fun of it.) And so, if during one month I want to take a peek at some of my work with no real intention of doing any work, I would need to pay $30 to look at my own work. This kind of situation creates a kind of "double bind" for me. It's an uneasy feeling, having a kind of oppressive effect on the creative flow of ideas. Consider this case scenario: "I think I can improve that logo I did last summer. I wonder what this change would look like?" Well, to find out that will be $30.00. For me, that's an uncomfortable position. Again, thanks for the thoughtful reply.

• Change the configurable material set against a ERP finished product

One of our users has entered the wrong configurable material against a finished product in MARC-STDPD. Is it possible to change this?
Thanks in advance

Hi Pherasath,
I'm not sure how changing the material type will help. What would I change it to and why? I need the material to be a ERP finished product?
I too have noticed the OSS note but wasn't totally sure that it applied to the issue we specifically have, do you think it does?

• Creating a production order for a semi finished product

Hi
I am having a multi level bom scenario over here.
one of the bom components of the header material is a semi finished product.
I am using the planing stratagy 40 for that material.
in standard sap when i create a production order for header material. the requirement gets transerd to all the components. if the components are not available then only a requirement is placed. when i run MRP that requirement gets converted in to a planned order. which converts in to a purchase req or a production order,
well for my semi finished product. its a Work in process item. there wont be any stock for that item in the storage location any time.
what my requirement is. when i create a production order for my finished product it should automatically create a production order for the semi finished product.
is this possible with some configuration settings.

Dear Deepu,
for ur requirement u need to maintain MRP type PD for FERT material and also for ur HALB.
If u run MRP only, it will create planned order for FERT and for all its dependent requirement(for PD).
If u create order manually for FERT material then it will not create order for HALB material, u need to create manualy for this also.

• Change in finished product inventories / cost components

Hello,
We are in the process of implementing SAP and couldn't get an answer to the following.
Our understanding is that the production cost of each finished product is calculated by SAP based on cost components. After manufacturing, the finished products are transferred to the finished product inventory. The change in finished product inventory account (say 713000) is credited with the production cost of the product.
Instead of having this single 713000 account impacted, we would like to have the change in finished product inventory broken down into several, say 713001 raw material component in finished product, 713002 labour cost component in finished product, 713003 subcontracting cost component etc. Can we get SAP to credit automatically each of these accounts based on the cost component (or group of cost components) information in the system ? How should we configure it ? (is there a link between the cost component or group of cost component and the account)
Many thanks for your help
Best regards

Hi Vincent,
In my understanding you are not clear with the requirement and therefore you are struggling with SAP. Please understand the following:
1. The posting of GL accounts are determined by valuation class in material master. So if you want to post on different GLs please define those many valuation class in MM and assign the correct Valuation class to FG goods.
2. When you confirm the production, SAP post the goods issue (i.e. material you define in BOM) by debiting the Material consumption account and credit the invertory accounts. And also post the goods receipt posting by debiting the FG inventory account and credit the Factory output a/c.
3. Here you have to convience your client that it is best pratice to have one inventory account for one material type, like RM inventory, SFG inventory and FG inventory. Normally we classify the consumption posting in different GLs like Material consumption, Labour consuption, Overhead utilization etc. and that you can define in your cost component structure by grouping the relevent GLs in given cost component items.
4. You have to explain them how SAP works in product costing and how GL documents are posted. You have to also explain them the posting impact in P&L and BS.
I will suggest that you should rediscuss the requirement and explain them the SAP way of valuation and posting. It is a big change management issue and as a CO consultant it is most challenging task.
Thanks and all the best,
Vivek

• Wait time from WIP to finished product

Dear PP experts,
I have a case need your help:
We're a construction company, we have a concrete factory.
Our product (called spun pile) is made from concrete and mixture.
In put: concrete + admixture
Out put: spun pile (WIP)
usually, it takes 7 days for a spun pile (WIP) becomes a finished product.
in other cases, we have to speed up the progress, so, we put the spun pile (WIP) into heat oven. It only takes 1 or 2 days for a spun pile (WIP) becomes finished product.
In total, we have production date, called A (date)
We have wait time, called T (days)
We have the date that we can sales finished product, call B (dates) = A + T
Can we manage it in SAP PP? We expect after T days, stock in finished product will be increased, automatically, instead of manually do the stock transfer in SAP MM module.
Please consult me on this. Thanks in advance.

• Third Party for finished product

normally I sell a product and it is maintained as a Finished product.
But now I dont have the enough Inventory for that product.
So I have asked my Vendor to supply that material to the customer.
In this case I cant maintain this product as the Trading good.
how should i configure this scenario.
regards,
sheetal

Hi
there is no need to maintain a thirdparty material as trading goods. you just maintain as a standard finished product.
and in VOV4 maintain a TAS(thisrd party) as manual item category for your standard item combination (lets say ORNORM-+- = TAN TAS)....
when processing a sales order just change the item category to TAS whenever you need a thisrd party order,.............
Hope this will resolve your problem

• Moving average price for semi finished products

Hi
Could anyone light on this issue,
Our client maintain moving average price for the semi finished material, need clarification on below points
1) What is the advantages and disadvantages due moving average price,
2) Which price in the material master after the production order settlement,
3) Is there any impact of this on WIP calcaultions
Thanks in advance
Mohan M

Hi
there are no advantages of it, ONLY Dis Advantages!!!
That will ruin your inventory valuation forever.. Consider the eg below if your price control is V
1. Your moving price in mat master is 100 USD
2. You Mfr on Jan 1 @ Actual cost = 110 in Prod order and Qty = 1.
Upon GR, GR will happen @ 100 and at period end if Qty is lying in stock, 10 variance will also be inventorized
BUT, now consider this
1. 1. Your moving price in mat master is 100 USD
2. You Mfr on Jan 1 @ Actual cost = 110 in Prod order and Qty = 1.
Upon GR, GR will happen @ 100 and variance lying is 10 in prod order
3. You Mfr on Jan 10 @ Actual cost = 110 in Prod order and Qty = 1.
Upon GR, GR will happen @ 100 and variance lying is 10 in prod order
4. On jan 15, you consume Qty 1 and qty lying in stock is 1
5. In period end, when you do settlement, following will happen
a. For prod order 1: Qty Mfd 1 and Qty lying in stock 1 - Result: variance 10 will be inventorized.
Mvg Avg price will shoot upto 110
b. For prod order 2: Qty Mfd 1 and Qty lying in stock 1 - Result: variance 10 will be inventorized.
Mvg Avg price (MAP) will shoot upto 120
System wont check whether the qty lying in stock pertains to prod order 1 or 2... It will simply check if the Qty of prod order matches with qty lying in stock. hence, it will keep on inventorizing variance in this case.... and your MAP will touch the sky

• Posting of semi finished products

Hello Everyone,
I had an issue regarding posting of semi finished products. Earlier during production, Production executives had created some production orders for semi finished products and had not transferred the corresponding quantities to the store. Still production continued for the top level finished products and GR has occured for the same. Later these production orders for finished products were also set the status TECO.
Now upon analysing the system still shows the production orders open for the semi-finished products. Now its practically impossible to trace back against which superior level order this semi finished order is raised.
Moreover since these orders are still open, the system does'nt raise additional orders for the corresponding quantities wheras these orders were raised earlier for previous orders.
I would greatly appreciate any help to tackle this issue.

Hi,
Pls run the optimiser with prod = A and Loc = A+B
It should work fine. Also in the t code /sapapo/mvm, check if the check box for 'No planned orders without source of supply' is clicked or not. If it is clicked, then you need to maintain a PPM for prod A at loc B. If it is unchecked, optimiser will create planned orders for A at loc B even without a PPM.
Pls let me know if this helps.

• Transfering Semi finished products

Hello Everyone,
I had an issue regarding transferring of semi finished products to stores. Earlier during production, Production executives had created some production orders for HALB and had not transferred the corresponding quantities to the store. Now upon analysing the system still shows the production orders for open for the semi-finished products. Now its impossible to trace back against which superior level order this semi finished order is raised.

Hi,
A suggestion:
Since you mention the children were not issued to the parent orders, but yet the parent orders were completed & TECO'd in the system, run COOIS report by selecting Components as the list option & entering the components for component & tick the checkbox reduced reading for which you're facing this issue.
Now using filters, exclude components which are deleted & issued completely. This should give you a finite list of orders for which these components havent been issued. Now you will know to which orders these components need to be issued. Having said that, before proceeding to post these components to the SFO's check with your finance personnel as many of these SFO's could have already been settled.
