Sky App on XBox 360

Hi, I'm trying to register Sky on my XBox 360 and I get an error message telling me 'You need to be Sky TV customer with Sky Go EXTRA to watch Sky on your console'. I have Sky Go, not Sky Go Extra and the Sky website tells me that this is sufficient to register 2 devices. I don't understand why it is not working. Many thanks, Lowri.

Like the message says, to use Sky Go on Xbox360 (or TV from Sky on the PS3/PS4) you need to subscribe to Sky Go Extra.
Sky Go Extra is £5 per month (or free to multiscreen subscribers) and allows 2 additional registered devices (total of 4, any two in use at one time), downloads for offline viewing and console devices.
It has been this way for some time now, the only "free" devices are PC, Mac, Android and iOS devices.

Sky go on xbox 360 - video playout error

My sky go app randomly stopped working the other week. And hasn't worked since. I've always watched it on my Xbox 360 and never had this issue before. I've tried Clearing the cache, deleting and reinstalling the app but i'm still getting the same problem. When i try watching live tv on the sky app or watch demand it says:"Sorry, Sky Video Playout service isn't available right now. Please try again later. For more information, go to www.xbox.com/status" I'm out of idea's on how i'm supposed to fix it. I have sky extra and the device is still added onto my sky go devices. I'd appreciate the help. I have sorted it! when i went on to storage settings, the internal drive needed formatting. The app had been saved onto the external drive. Any video (TV) apps need to be saved on internal drive!! I reformatted the drive then deleted the app off the external drive, before reinstalling it onto the internal drive. Did this for Netflix too which had also stopped working properly. Hope this helps and solves your problem too

Sky Player for Xbox 360 - Lots of errors when stre...

Whenever I'm watching Sky Player I keep getting buffer messages saying "Your internet speed has changed. You can change the quality of your video by pressing RB or LB while watching TV".
It always defaults to "High" because of my (supposedly) fast internet connection, but I always have to reduce it to Medium, or even Low last night.
I'm also getting a ton of problems trying to watch BT Vision on demand (picture constantly freezing, stopping, buffering etc).
I've ran another speed test this morning to find out what is going on, and I suddenly have no QoS on my line any more;

With my old 20cn line I had absolutely no issues with Sky Player running on full resolution, so I'm a little bit distressed that my supposedly better connection now causes it to run so badly.
Any chance of a mod taking a look at my account to see if anything can be done about this? I've asked before but haven't had anyone reply yet.

You connection appears to be fine for streaming.
A couple of things to check.
How is your Xbox connected to your Hub, if wireless then tried wired.
Use the following program http://www.metageek.net/ select downloads and choose Inssider. Download to your PC and check for any other wireless signals, find out the channels they are broadcasting on and change your HUB if it conflicts with any. Note this will only help if your are connected wirelessly.
If your problem is not resolved with any of these, then it can only be down to possibly Sky, they have been heavily pushing Sky player and perhaps their servers are overloaded.

Verizon FIOS TV App on XBOX 360

Verizon FIOS TV app not working on the xbox360. ;
1=> Verizon told me They do not fix issues on the xbox
2=> They repeatedly told me it is working on mobile phone, tablet & pc, so my xbox is the issue.
3=> After actually listening to my issue, I was told to contact Microsoft.
4=> Microsoft told me to contact Verizon.
5=> After contacting both Verizon & Microsoft over half a dozen times each.
They both still claim the problem with Verizon FIOS TV application on the XBOX360 gaming console is not their issue.
6=> After a few FAILED attempts by both to resolve the issue, it has only gotten worse.
Now, every time I start the app it ask me to accept the EULA and does not get pass the AUTHENTICATION step.
7=> Before its current condition, the following was displayed under the account tab;
Device ID: Data at root level is invalid. Line 1, position 1.

8=> I was able to load and view TV using the Verizon Watch ABC live application.

I have a 2013 Samsung TV and BluRay device both of which have the Verizon app installed and I gave up trying to get them working about 6 months ago. This is such a joke - if Verizon cared they would be ashamed but they are just looking the other way.
I canceled our Verizon TV service and switched from a bundle to just FIOS Internet service. We are not big TV watchers (basically we've cut the cable) and for the little TV we do watch, I refuse to pay a monthly rental fee for a set top box. So unless the Verizon Samsung app is generally ackowledged to be "fixed" we will not be signing up for any Verizon TV service again. The app is the ONLY way I would watch Verizon TV and it is practically unusable.
So it's Amazon Prime and Netflix for us - no Verizon TV. I wonder if anyone at Verizon sales realizes that the app is not just a matter of convenience for customers. If there's no workable app then I am not a TV customer.

Any plans on having Skype App for Xbox 360 with Kinect?

I'm extremely disappointed with this response. I've been a fan of windows for my entire life. I was even a microsoft developer for 12 years. However, Microsoft is dropping the ball and I'm finding it extremely difficult to continue my loyalty.
1. Windows 8 == failure (Vista all over)
2. Love the tablet but can't justify the cost (Bought Android which is equally as good for 1/2-1/3 the price)
3. Love the phone and xbox integration
4. Extremely pissed off that a multi billion dollar company can't answer a simple question and just leave everyone asking questions that go unanswered.
I may just end up buying sony and going android. I have no more loyalty and I have done nothing but stick up for you for years.

Sky video playout service isnt available xbox 360

I am having an issue with sky go on the Xbox 360 I can only view live tv when trying to play anything else I get the video playout error message. I have uninstalled and reinstalled app emptied the cache and formatted the memory could you please advise how to get this sorted please it's very frustrating.

Not sure if you are still looking. I have after about 3 months and ongoing discussions with Sky I have a fix for this! And since I never found it on this forum I 'll give this gem back. All you have to do is create a new user ID (you can have up to 10) in addition to your lead profile.Just register it as if you were creating a completely new account and sign in with this instead. You'll need your account number but this is on your original profiles homepage on my sky (if you're using sky go away from home like me) or just on your sky card in your box. Make sure you go through the whole process of verifying your email address and sign in with it on sky go on your laptop before you attempt with your console (took me a while to realise this) and it should work all fine!At least it did for me! Also just to clarify you will still have to use your old login for any bills, account management etc as the first one you create goes down as your lead profile.

XBOX 360 FIOS TV App

Are there any plans about adding more channels to the xbox 360 app? or at least let me watch the channels I'm subscribed to. I'd be interested i seeing more sports channels added to the app, particularly both BeIn Sports Channels.

Unfortunately, I think those of us still using a 360, got pushed aside when the Xbox One came out. I'd be surprised if we saw any new updates to the 360 app.

I have the triple play pack and my Xbox Verizon app says I don't have it. I have called many times and no one knows what's going on????? How do I get this app to work?

I have down louded the driver, Fitted the wireless receiver and all works fine on the driver screen, everything.

Fios tv app xbox 360

Hope some verizon technincal folks can help. Was thrilled to find out that Verizon had launched a tv app for multiple devices and last year downloaded it to my XBOX 360. Loved the layout and picture quality is quite good. The only problem was that in the evening it would start buffering making it unwatchable. Called Verizon techinical support and they did not know anything about any issues. Kept telling me to unistall and reinstall and clear cache. Those did nothing to help. They also told me to call back when I was having problems and they would check the network and they would check it out and of course they said the network was up and running. Checked out the forums and found many folks having the same issue. Now my XBOX was wired to my router with a speed of 75/35. My speed tests gave me 80's over 40's. I finally received a response from a verizon rep via facebook stating that the problem was with the network servers during peak times. He stated that the developmental team that was contracted by Verizon had no fix and were basically baffled. Of course, the Xfinity app is flawless. He also told me that he was not allowed to officially say anything and was told to keep things quiet. I finally got tired of the smoke and mirrors and gave up on the app. Last week I bought a new 65" Samsung smart tv and behold there was the Verizon Fios TV App. Well I tried it out and **bleep** if it did not start buffering around 2100 hours. Went to my XBOX 360 and the same thing. Called Verizon again and after one hour on the phone, I received the same dance and pony show. I went today to buy a new Droid and told the salesman the story. He said he has a 360 and gave up on the app because of the buffering. He stated according to his sources that Verizon is quite aware of the problem. Two other guys chimed in and stated they had the same problem. One with a Samsung tv and the other with a LG tv. Can someone give us a straight answer or get in touch with the team tasked to work on this app to get the skinny. I have no problem with the app being broken but admit to it. Take it down and fix it. Sky Go on Xbox One

Hey there Can someone help me understand why I can't access any box sets on the Sky Go app on my Xbox One. I'm pretty sure I can get these on an iPad but on the Xbox it is asking for me to upgrade to Sky Go Extra I pay for Sky Broadband, Talk and TV (Sky+ HD Family package) also Sky Now (I'm not sure this is worth the extra tenner but I have it for now). So I'm paying around £77 to Sky every month so surely they don't want more money from me? Many thanks in advance. Ash

How can i get an xbox 360 to connect to my time capsule via WIRED connection?

I have a Time Capsule and i need to connect my xbox 360 to it because my stepdad has the network in this house set up crazily. He gets mad if i ask him to change anything because it is how he wants it and it works with EVERYTHING ELSE. I do not have a wireless adapter so i need to connect the xbox to my time capsule via a wired connection

Here is what I would look into.
Use iCloud and photo stream to upload pictures taken with the iPad.
Find a remote log in utility, or web based app to then remote to your computer.
Download the files from photo stream to your time capsule.
As far as recommending a remote log in utility. I have not experience in that area and would need to do research my self.

BT Home Hub connection issue on XBOX 360

I have just upgraded from a BT Home Hub 3, to the BT Home Hub 4, before the upgrade I ran Sky TV wired, and 3PCs wifi, my Ipad and my Iphone. I also ran my XBOX 360 wifi, and a PS3 wifi, all worked no problem.
Now I am on BT Home Hub 4, all my connections are the same all working well apart from the XBOX 360.
I have tried doing the fix on the BT site logging into the Hub changed the SIDD and set the other bit to NO. this did not work.
I then reset the XBOX to factory settings as this was in another fix, I then reset the XBOX to the Hub 4, logged on to call of duty ghosts got half way through a game it crashed out saying no conection reset to test conection.
The Hub will conect to my XBOX 360 but only stay conected for up to 14 mins at most.
Do I need to go back to my BT Home Hub 3, Can any body help its starting to be a pain. As one good person said use a wired conection that would be good, but due to location would be hard. I did think upgrading was ment to make things better not harder. Please Help.

To add, I had on online chat with BT, they said that no problems exist about XBOX 360 and the BT Home Hub to do with wifi.
If this is the case why have a fix on the BT site, that does not work may I add well not on my XBOX.
I found BT online chat not much help in this case.
Please advise and help

Xbox 360 - Optical line-in pass through 5.1 to optical line-out on an iMac?

Hi guys, i'm in the market to purchase a new 5.1 surround sound system for my room and the following issue has been purplexing me.
IS it possible to daisy chain my XBOX 360 to my iMac with optical cables and pass through 5.1 surround sound to the decoder on the sound system?
So i'd have an optical cable from my xbox to the line-in on my iMac. I'd use Rogue Amoeba's Line-In app to pass the sound through to the optical line-out and through to the sound system.
(I know it works using stereo sources, but i don't know about 5.1 digital sound.)
I also know i could just connect them both to separate optical ports on the sound sytem, but i'm trying to listen to 2 sources at the same time. (5.1 from XBOX and music from iMac).
Any thoughts on this are appreciated!

I'm convinced things work like this:
The SBX-Fi receives the encoded SPDIF.<
The drivers decode it into the 5 digital audio signals. This siimply regenerates what was put into the encoding and has no effect on its "volume."<
The 5 digital audio signals are sent to the SBX-Fi hardware, as is.<
The signals are widened (not sure about the SBX-Fi, but for SBLi've-/SBAudigy-series card it's 32-bits with IIRC 4 bits for headroom, which is 24dB) at input by the SBX-Fi hardware. The additional headroom is probably able to handle most effects/mixing which might happen, but might produce a signal which would clip on output if the intermediate results produce a digital volume over 00%.<
The master output volume operates on the output signals before they are narrowed.<
The output signals are narrowed (dithered) and distributed.<
If that's correct, it means you should be able to simply lower the master output volume in the soundcard mixer; and that presumes something's going on like high Crystalizer settings, or something; to elminate clipping distortion.
