SLD - Register TREX

Hello,
I want to register our TREX-System in SLD of Solution Manager.
I've read, that it is not necessary to do it manually, as there should be a kind of data supplier for this.
But can I find this?
We are using TREX on Windows.
Thank you

Sorry, the guide is for linux, but shoul be the same on Windows ( of course, you should change the PATH ).
Anyway,
On solution manager:
sldreg  -configure slddest.cfg –usekeyfile
Copy the file on TREX, change permission and execute like daaadm user
On TREX
/usr/sap/hostctrl/exe/saposcol -b  | sldreg -connectfile slddest.cfg -stdin –oldtransferdtd
After some minute you can check in
http://FQNDnameofsolution:8000/sld
Administrator >> Content Maintenance
daaadm user is created during installation.
My only doubt is where is in windows the file saposcol

  • SLD registration for TREX not working...

    SDN Members,
I am unable to register TREX in SLD. I have put in an OSS message; however, I have yet to receive a response back from SAP... So any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    -Patrick
    Steps for the Reconstruction
    1. Generate SLD Configuration file:
    sldreg -configure /usr/sap/TXD/TRX85/slddest.cfg
    2. Copy the SLD Config. File to the Global SLD Directory and run
command (to transfer data to SLD):
saposcol -b | sldreg -connectfile slddest.cfg -stdin -oldtransferdtd
    Receive the following:
(hostnames, ip's, and ports altered to protect the innocent)
prtdiag can only be run in the global zone

Consequently SLD is not updated with TREX information. Using IE I can go to

    UPDATE:
We were able to work through and
resolve the error we initially posted in this Thread. Now we run sldreg

    Steps for the Reconstruction
    1. Generate SLD Configuration Files:
    sldreg -usekeyfile -configure /usr/sap/TXD/TRX00/slddest.cfg
    2. Copied files to Global SLD

    3. Run command to transfer data to SLD:
    saposcol -b | sldreg -user <user acct> -pass <password> -host
    <hostname> -port <port #> -datatrace -httptrace -
    logfile /usr/sap/TXD/TRX00/sld_reg.log -stdin
    Looks successful:

  • RCA Setup for TREX System

    Hello All,
Can you guide how to do the RCA Setup for TREX System?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Rahul,
I would suggest to go through http://service.sap.com/diagnostics -> SolMan in Detail -> E2E Root Cause Analysis + Media Library
All the required documentation is available. A brief overview of steps would be:
    - Registering TREX/BWA onto the SLD
    - Model the TREX/BWA in the SMSY
    - Diagnsotics agent setup on the TREX host
    - Proceed with RCA activities.

  • Configure SLD during the Installtion

I am installing the XI and EP system with NetWeaver 04s. At the moment, I am at step "Cental SLD", pretty much the beginning of the installtion. It says that I have to enter my SLD configuration.
    I have the option between:
    - Configure local SLD
    - Register in existing central SLD.
I am assuming that I have to have installed an SLD upfront. Is that true??? If yes, how can I install the SLD before the installtion routine?
    Which option should I choose??
    Thanks.

Go through the Urls and configure your SLD. If you do face problem post it back here.

  • Installing ECC 6.0,  XI not full in place Option for SLD

We r Installing ECC 6.0,  and we dont have XI fully installed in place and also another ECC 6.0 in place.
While installing ECC 6.0, it gives 3 options reg the SLD configuration as :
    > No SLD destination
    > Configure a local SLD
    > Register in the Central SLD
    Which one should I select.
If i select the first option (No SLD destination), in the future can I change it to the last one.
    -Naveen.

    Hello Naveen,
The first one is telling that u r not using the SLD in u r landscape
The second one is telling that U r about to configure the Local SLD on u r current installation only...
The third thing tell us that if there is already configured  SLD in u r previous system and u want to use that SLD for u r current installation then u have to redirect the configuration parameter to the existing SLD only...
    AS for example...
In my system previuosly i have one DEV system installed with SLD configuration...after ward i had installed the PRD system and at the time of installation by mistakenly i had installed a new SLD over there in PRD also.....
but after some time as of requriement i have to make only one SLD between DEV & PRD system so later on i will redirect the PRD SLD to DEV SLD...
so after installation u can change/reconfigure u r SLD also...
if you want the steps for the same then let me know..
if this information is usefull to u then please give points..
    thanks

    Hi Vipul
Trex is a search engine that you need to install and also need to register trex with portal to search KM documents from portal.
To register TREX hosts with the Portal, you have to first locate the name server and port of the TREX Installation. This is located in sapmsg.ini. You have to then set up the TREX name server in the J2EE Engine with the Visual Administrator.
To locate the name server and port
.Log on to the server as an Administrator .
.Navigate to the installation folder of TREX (that is C:\usr\sap\trex_00).
.Double-click sapprofile.ini to open the file in Notepad.
.Make a note of the port number. The default is 30001.
.You will need to enter this port number to the J2EE Visual Administrator in a later step.
    Trex/Nameserver/Port=30001
To set up the TREX name server in the J2EE Engine
.Open Windows Explorer in the server.
.Navigate to J2EE Admin installation directory (that is C:\usr\sapSID\JC##\j2ee\admin).
.Double-click go.bat to start the J2EE Visual Administrator.
    .Log on to  Visual Administrator.
.Choose Global Configuration u00E0 Services u00E0 TREX Service.
    .Select the nameserver.address properties field.
.Enter the server name of the TREX instance and the port number.
    Choose Update.
    Choose Save
.Select yes to restart the TREX Service.
To exit the J2EE Visual Administrator, choose Close u00E0 Exit.
Check the connection to the Enterprise Portal
Log on to the Enterprise Portal with super-administrator permissions.
Choose System Administration u00E0 Monitoring u00E0 Knowledge Management u00E0 TREX Monitor u00E0 Server Status.
You should see the status of the HTTP Server, Name Server, Queue Server, and Index Server is Available.
For Connecting TREX to Remote System
u00B7  The TREX admin tool and the remote system have the same TREX release.
u00B7  The TREX admin tool can reach the remote system via the network.
u00B7  You know the user name and password for the remote system.

  • The comunication between SLD and SAP systems.

    Hi!
Here is a statement from SAP official document:
By copying the files slddest.cfg and slddest.cfg.key, you have configured TREX for integration in the System Landscape Directory (SLD).
TREX checks every five minutes whether anything has changed in the TREX system landscape and reports any changes automatically to the SLD server. If nothing has changed, TREX reports every twelve hours to the SLD server. This allows you to see that this landscape is still active.
I wonder whether all other SAP systems communicate with SLD in the same fashion as above? If NOT , what is different?
    Thanks for clarification.

    Hi,
This is how it exchanges data with ABAP and JAVA based systems -
"JCo RFC Provider for accessing SLD data from ABAP-based systems. SLD has a built-in API for Java-based systems that requires no manual configuration for JAVA based systems"

During retry the same error(9) is repeating.
    Can Anyone Help.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Chemmam,
The file adapter is picking up the file and deleting the same. The problem should be in mapping or the receiver adapter configuration.
    Check the following things.
1.In design time(repository) check whether the mapping between the two data types are perfect.Check the same by using test tab and execute option.
2.Then go to the reciver SAP r/3 business system and go to transaction SM59.Check whether the a connection is established between the receiver system and the Intergration server.
Create connections by giving the log on parameters of the XI server and the program ID and test the connection.
3.If the test connection is perfect , then go to receiver R3 system and try executing the RFC as stand alone by giving appropriate inputs.
4.If that is working fine. Then check for your configuration settings. The Comunication channel between XI and Receiver SAP R/3 should be under the SLD registered business system while the sender communication channel(File adapter) should be under a service.
5.In receiver communication channel check for the log on parameters of the receiver SAP system.
Hop this helps you in locating the root cause.
    regards,
    aravindh.

  • Configuring TREX for sld

    hello to all.
Why do i need to do the post installtion of the trex ""Configuring TREX" for sld"?
    I have to do it?
    Thanks
    Menashe

If you are installing any component of 'NetWeaver', you should register it with Central SLD server of your landscape.
Same case with Trex too, that's why you have that post installation step there. However, it is not a 'Mandatory' step which needs to be done immediately after installation. But in future, you might require this. So you may proceed to do it after proper understanding of what is an 'SLD' even !
This step itself tells it's purpose as seen from below help page

The issue is as shown below. I appreciate your help.
    Environment: SLD host-Windows Server 2003, Oracle 10g, WAS JAVA 640 SP19
    CRM ABAP+JAVA 640 host - unix, Oracle
I was able to register CRM JAVA stack in SLD from Visual Administrator>SLD Data Supplier. The CIM Client Test was successfull.
When i try to register the CRM ABAP stack from tcode RZ70, i get an error as below:
    SLD DS start program
        0: sapsrm_CRM_05                             : Execute program: SLDAPPL_SERV
        0: sapsrm_CRM_05                             : Execute program: SLDBCSYS

        0: sapsrm_CRM_05                             : RFC call failed: / CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPECMINIT' : cmRc=17 thRc=236#SAP gateway connection failed. Is SAP gateway started?
        0: sapsrm_CRM_05                             : Existing periodic jobs removed. Number: 1
        0: sapsrm_CRM_05                             : Program scheduled: 20080506 222324
1: sapsrm_CRM_05                             : Event-controlled job already exists; scheduling not necessary
I came to know from other forums in sdn that we need to install/configure separate gateway if the SLD is on a standalone JAVA engine.
Also, in SM59 SLD_UC, SLD_NUC, SAPSLDAPI are failing with the same error of "RFC call failed: / CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPECMINIT' : cmRc=17 thRc=236#SAP gateway connection failed. Is SAP gateway started?"
Please suggest how to resolve this. Please let me know if you need more details.
    Thanks already

    Rahul,
as RK already stated: the SLD has to connect to an SAP gateway, such is running on an ABAP system.
You may initially try to use the SAP gateway from the CRM ABAP stack. Therefore you will have to adjust the SLD to use that SAP gateway. On 6.40 SLD: Administration / Data supplier bridge / RFC gateway: Server (host name) and Service (combination of sapgw and instance number of CRM ABAP system).
After that, in CRM SM59 SLD_UC, SLD_NUC, SAPSLDAPI will have to be adjusted accordingly.
