SLOW PRINTING to Acrobat 8 Pro from Office 2007 on OS Win 7 Pro after updating to 2.0-2.3 ...???

Everything worked fine for a while. Keeping machine updated and such. Yes have older version Acrobat Pro 8 and downloaded the update files and slowly working through updating. Now on version 2.3. I noticed before that version 3.0 and 3.1 were not allowing me to create pdfs via the Acrobat icon. At the time I could print via "print", but some Office programs were missing Acrobat ICON too.
Now, my problem: I can't print directly from Office. I can't print within Acrobat. It takes an extremely long, long time (longest wait was about 1/2 hour) to print just one page of text. I found that if I first print using Microsoft's XPS printer function (but only through Acrobat, again, not directly via the XPS print function), then I can easily convert that to a PDF. I've been in the habit of sending PDFs and not everyone is familiar with XPS, so don't want to send that type of file.
Can anyone help in determining why printing PDF is sooooo slow or not printing at all?
Thanks.

  • Want to export user settings from Office 2007 on client, to be able to import in Office 2013?

Upgrading from Office 2007 to Office 2013. We may need to save the user settings on the client computer, because we are moving some of the systems from 32-bit to 64-bit. How can we export the settings to a folder?

    Hi,
Could you please tell us what is included in user setting? Such as the customized Quick Access Toolbar settings, customize ribbon settings, or profile in Outlook?
Generally, we can’t upgrade operating system from 32-bit to 64-bit directly, we need to reinstall 64-bit operating system.
Office 2007 don’t provide the Import/Export button like Office 2010/Office 2013, we can’t export QAT setting and customize ribbon setting directly.
To customize an installation of Office 2013, you can use the Office Customization Tool (OCT) to perform tasks such as the following:
    Specifying installation options
Customizing how Office applications and features are installed
    Configuring default user settings
Managing additional content: add or remove files, registry entries or shortcuts
Configuring Outlook options: setting the default profile, adding email accounts, and specifying Exchange      settings

  • Project Pro for Office 365 vs. Project Pro 2013

    Hello,
As I already have Project Pro 2013 installed on my PC (which is able to connect to Project Online) I'm not sure if the MS Project I'm using is Project Pro for Office 365 vs. Project Pro 2013.
Is there any difference in the interface of the 2 products, as there is a noticeable difference between Word 2013 and Word Web App?
    Thanks

    Hello,
Project Pro 2013 is the same product as Project Pro for Office 365.
Word 2013 and Word Web App are totally different, Word Web App is web based, Word 2013 is the client tool.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro and Office 2007 - Incompatibility??

I have been reading comments on other forums about a compatibility issues between these two softwares. See Amazon product feedback reviews on Acrobat 9 Pro for example.
Is this a issue users here are experiencing?.

Some of what I saw was someone coming to AA9 from AA5. For OFFICE 2007 he had no choice if he wanted the PDF Maker functionality. There is likely an issue, possibly with either AA9 or OFFICE not being updated. Being sure you are up to date is important. Currently AA9 appears to have no updates, only an add-on. However, it may be that OFFICE 2007 has updates, in fact likely. The bottom line is that the complaints did not provide enough information to see if it was an AA9 problem, MS problem, or a user problem. Enough folks seem to have survived the transition successfully, it is a good chance that the latter problem may be the issue in that forum.
The comment on support is not new in concept. That has been a complaint for as long as I can remember with past versions too. I think it was with AA5 that I started coming to the forum, and that was the move that saved me a lot of time and frustration (other than I now spend a lot of time on the forum).
For comments about compatibility, I would search this forum and see what others have had problems with and the solutions that have been suggested. I think you will get a much better feel for the compatibility. Two of the comments on the link praised the software.

  • Acrobat XI Pro crashes Office 2007 Powerpoint when converting to pdf

I have a Dell laptop with Windows 7 x64 and Office 2007.  I also have Acrobat XI Pro.  When I convert a .ppt powerpoint file to .pdf, powerpoint stops working.
When I click Convert to pdf, Acrobat prepares the slides and then begins publishing and about 1/4 of the way through I get a message that powerpoint has stopped working.
I have run the Office Diagnostics and it found nothing.
I have reinstalled Acrobat and it didn't help
Is there a compatibility issue?  Would an older version of Acrobat Pro work such as Acrobat 9 or 10?
Is there an Acrobat Preference that I could change that would solve the problem?
    Thanks
    Tracy

Thank you, it actually turned out to be the specific document, other
    powerpoints converted without error.

  • Acrobat 8 Pro and Office 2007 Problem

I posted this in the CS3 forum originally. They told me to post here too.
    Issue:
When logged in as a local user (no admin rights) Word 2007 will crash the whole computer when you type a key.
The reason I am posting on Adobe forums is that this only happens when CS3 is installed as well on the same computer.
    Troubleshooting:
Both products work fine as a local user account, if only one or the other are installed.
During login, Acrobat Pro will display a MSI/Installer progress bar for about 30secs. After I updated Acrobat to 8.1.3, that stops, but the Word crashing problem doesn't.
When starting Office, setup runs everytime. It shows just a progress bar and goes for about 1min.
On a doc, if I wait about 5min and don't do anything. A MSI install progress bar will run for "MS Office 2007 Pro", this will re-spawn for several mins. until it finally stops. After that, Word IS usable.
    No other problems with CS3.
Fully updated both CS3 and Office 2007
This could very well be an Office issue, but it is associated with CS3 also being installed on the same computer.
    Any help would be great!

Forgot again! Using XP Pro sp2 and sp3.

  • IE8 crashes printing to Acrobat 9 from Yahoo message

Anyone who belongs to a Yahoo list area is probably familiar with the print command to print a message either to a printer or to Acrobat (this is not the print command at the top of IE to print the whole page). With IE7, I had no problems printing to PDF. With IE8, printing to Acrobat crashes IE at the point where the window comes up showing the folder structure on the local drive and a generic filename for the PDF. The cursor blinks at the highlighted filename but IE is frozen. I can't overwrite the filename, change folders or cancel the print. I have to use Task Manager to kill the app. Oddly enough, an error message comes up and says I can't kill the process because the system is waiting for a User command - a command I can't execute because IE is frozen. I assumed this is an IE problem but there were no answers in an MS forum except to upgrade Acrobat. I upgraded to Acrobat Pro 9.1.1. Same problem.
The reason I put the question here is that I can print the mesage to a local printer, just not to Acrobat, so it looks like a compatibility problem.
Any hints except restoring back to IE7? If this were a valid option, I would restore my Vista Business 32 system back to XP. For what it's worth,  I installed IE8 because of security problems with Vista and IE7 per MS.

I have found this to be a problem with any web page that has a print command. The solution I have found is to open task manager, go to the process tab, kill the "acrotray.exe" process. This removes the locked "File|Save" dialog box. Then with the printer friendly formated window open I choose the print command from IE (or use the CTRL-P short-cut if there is no menus) and the "File|Save" dialog opens again this time not locked and I can save the PDF to a file.
This solution will not work if the embedded print command does not first display the printer friendly output in a window, but only presents the dialog boxes. In that case there is no work around.
I have looked all over the Adobe and Microsoft sites and although I can replicate this issues 100% of the time, there appears to be no discussion or solution other than your post of the problem.
I have opened a support case with Adobe, but I am not holding my breath.
    Good Luck.

  • Acrobat 8.1 - Office 2007 Conversion Problem

    Hello,
I am having a problem converting a word document into a pdf. The problem is no text appears on graphs in the pdf. I pasted the graphs from Excel 2007 into Word 2007 as an Enhanced Metafile and Windows Metafile but neither seem to work. Does anyone have any solutions?
    Regards,

Do you have a PostScript printer where you can print this document? If it does not appear there, it's a problem with Office printing.

  • Removing Acrobat Toolbar from Office 2011

I've searched the Web and all the solutions to this don't seem to work with Office for Mac 2011...
So ... I made the mistake of opening Adobe Acrobat Pro (The full app) yesterday, and when I did, it automatically (despite asking me and me saying "no") installed into all the Office apps the highly annoying and totally unnecessary Acrobat toolbar.
Does anyone know how to remove this thing? I've tried everything I can thing and everything I've found on the Web.
    Halp!

There are reports of this happening in Office2011 on the OfficeForMac Forums. 2011 has returned the ability to use Macros. And the PDFMaker is a Macro. Acrobat installs this in any version of Office that can use Macros, whether it has the ability Function. In 2004 you went to customize menus and unchecked PDFMaker Then you you looked for PDFMaker in Acrobat and and Office.  And yes Acrobat indeed does trigger its installation.  Its been so long since I had to do it but at one time there was a Kludge to prevent it from happening. You had remove the offending item then create aBlank folder and name it exact  same as application (Macro) and place it in place of the original file. In UNIX which is the underlying basis for the Mac OS. you can write over top of a Folder with a File.
2011 is almost line by line port of Office2010 for PC with some features left out. And there are some cases where they didn't or proof read the code to leave out items that will only work on PC. One such problem is That you can not use the word "File" or Fileserver in the name of any File, Folder, Harddrive, of fil Server paths. Something that is acceptable on Mac's for as long as Mac have been. Also certain forbidden characters such as <>| \/ "  subscripts and superscripts and numbers can not proceed names  (document1.docx is aceptable - 1document.docx is not).  They put in a piece of PC Code that looks for this stuff. So for office2011 Mac, any way you can't name a File, Directory Hard Drive, or Fileserver in a PC, you can't in Office Mac 2011. It doesn't affect Office 2008, or 2004.
So if that insertion code Macro, is still in Acrobat 9, or even 10 it will install PDFMaker whether it can be used or not.

  • User settings migrated from Office 2007 to 2013 using OCT

Does anyone know what user settings are retained after upgrading Office 2007 to 2013 using the OCT? I have set the checkbox to migrate user settings in the OCT but all of the user's pinned documents are not longer there after the upgrade. Is this normal?

Microsoft doesn't support migrating directly from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2013, likely part of your decision to use a third party tool.
I'm not familiar with these error messages, I suspect they're from DocAve and not SharePoint.
My suggestion is to contact AvePoint support.

  • Hard drive upgrade for Mac Book Pro from 11/2007 with 120GB

    Hello
My hard drive is full after 2 years. I contacted an apple reseller as Apple store would not advise on it, and they told me that to avoid overheating, I should not exceed 160 GB for a new hard drive. I was surprised as a 250 GB hard rive was optional when I bought my MBP. I was more looking at 500 GB but I am worried about overheating as my laptop tends to heat up a lot with the current drive already.
How big a hard drive can my MBP accommodate (I understand 500 GB)? Will it create more heat which can not be dissipated by the MBP as Apple reseller told? Does 5400 or 7200 rpm change the heat levels (I understand not necessarily)?
Thanks for your answers, may help me avoid buying a new laptop.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
I have the 17" MBP from September 2007, and I ordered mine with the optional 250 GB drive, which is a Fujitsu 4200 RPM model. My Mac runs perfectly well on this drive, and it never gets hot.
Since so many people have successfully put 500 GB drives in their Macs, I think the Apple reseller is misinformed. There may be a decrease in battery life for the 7200 RPM models, but I have read many posts where people report that the drives work perfectly well and that there was no heat problem.
I replaced the 30 GB drive in my iBook with a Western Digital 120 GB drive, and have had no issues with it. The drive does make a slightly different and louder whirring noise if you listen carefully. My only regret is that I did not install a 250 GB drive instead of the 120 GB.
Western Digital and Seagate both make 500 GB drives that should work perfectly well in your machine. Some people have reported problems with the 640 GB Western Digital spinning up and down too much, so you may want to avoid that one. If you go with the 500 GB Seagate, be sure to select one without the G-Force feature, as it is a built in type of sudden motion sensor which can conflict with Apple's built in Sudden Motion Sensor.
    Good luck!

  • PDFMaker missing files issue with PDF Forms from Office 2007

    Hi,
I have Adobe PDF 8.0 Pro installed  (full installation) and I upgraded office from 2003 to 2007 AND Windows from 2000 to XP Pro.
I used to be able to create PDF Forms from an Excel document when using Office 2003.
Now, when I choose to create a new form starting with an electronic document [from an Excel 2003 document (.xls)], I get this error message:
"PDFMaker files are missing, would you like to repair?" (please image attached)
I did the repair. Did not worked.
I made sure the add-in in office was enabled. Did not worked.
I un-installed Adobe 8.0 Pro and Adobe Reader 9.0 and re-installed only Adobe 8.0 Pro , thinking there was a problem there. Did not work.
I googled for more answers, did not find anything else.
I am able to "print as Adobe PDF", I can create normal PDF documents, but not the Forms.
I used that option all the time for work. Can someone help me please?!!
    Thanks!
    Gwen

    Bill, it worked!!
I updated to 8.1.6 and now I can use an electronic document to create a form.
    Thank you!
I have another question: in the past, to enable Acrobat READER users to fill out a form and save it on their computer, all I had to do is "Enable Usage Rights in Adobe Reader" in the "advanced" menu of Acrobat Pro.
I did just that but my colleagues who have Adobe Reader 9 cannot fill the form. It appears as a scanned PDF document to them.
    Any idea why?!
    Gwen

  • How do i set up my wireless printer to print using the internet from a remote location? 8500 pro

I have two offices and would like to print things off for my staff in different locations from my computer any place I am.  I understood that I should be able to do so with the wireless system.  What setting is not set proper?

    Hi,
The latest printers provide remote printing by the HP ePrint feature,
If your printer is the HP Officejet Pro 8500 (A909) as i can figure from your description, the ePrint feature unfortunately not supported by your printer.

  • Adobe Printer In Acrobat 8.1.5 Hangs in Windows 7 Pro X64

I have been trying to find some info on why the Adobe Printer Hangs when it prints. I Have Acrobat 8.0 & upgraded to 8.1.5 as a possible fix but so far to no avail. At least the Adobe Printer is listed and attempts to print but then it "Stops Responding" .  Of course I have Windows 7 professional & noticed around the forum allot of answers deals with upgrading to 9.0 , but has anyone a fix for the adobe printer fix?  All functions work great other than the Adobe Printer function
it makes no sense to upgrade makes more sense for Adobe to make a patch to fix this issue as a gesture to loyal customers ! or is it greed?  Any hints on a fix?

If you update AA8 (now at AA8.2.4) you may be successful. Part of this is a Win7 issue and part is a X64 issue. I think at least AA8.2 is needed for X64. Open Acrobat and do an update, or download all of the updates after 8.1.5 from the Adobe download site and install them (in order). If that does not do the job, I don't have other ideas. But that is your first step. The other is to search the forum for the wealth of comments on AA8 on Win 7.

  • Printing to acrobat pdf from other application in Leopard

    Hi,
I've upgraded to Leopard and to Adobe CS3. Whenever I want to print from any application to Acrobat pdf (for instance from Word 04), the acrobat printer pauses and the pdf is not created.
Is this one of the known issues that will be fixed when Adobe releases the Leopard-proof update of CS3?
    Thanks,

Is the ESR version of Mozilla Firefox?  If not, then try that version to see if the issue persists.
BTW the ESR version of Mozilla Firefox IS the supported version of Mozilla Firefox.
