Slow typing in exchange email in iPad?

This has become really irritating now. Every time it try to type a reply to an email on my exchange acount the keyboard becomes really really slow, to a point of being unusable. I've tried restarts and wiping the iPad, and the techies at work have rebooted the exchange server, and changed a few settings ( I don't really understand that bit!) Now they've got bored and have told me to wait for an update for iOS and hope that fixes it!
Any advice out there?

I note that a Reset of your iPad has not been mentioned. Try that-[Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release.

  • Is there a way to have all (exchange) email on iPad even when offline?

I would like to have access to my work (exchange) email when offline (travelling). Is there a way of keeping a selected amount on my iPad, not just the most recent items?

Thanks. I was already aware of this setting.
The issue is that I use a number of folders and unless I manually open each one a sync whilst online, when offline the only emails that are available are those from the last sync, e.g. there is no automatic, background synchronisation of folders not in use.
    Ideas?

  • Cannot add exchange email on ipad mini

Just got an iPad mini retina 64 Gb with iOS 7.1.2.
After ADDING EMAIL ACCOUNT, choosing EXCHANGE and entering the email address + password of the Exchange account, nothing happens even after 60 minutes (only the small circle sirling for ever).
I did the same procedure with my iPad and it works fine...
    Any thoughts ?

The process for adding an e-mail account for iPad Mini is the same as for the iPad. Have tried re-setting the iPad Mini? Hold "Home" and "Power/Sleep" button at the same time until the Apple goo appears. After the restart go into mail and delete the account you tried to set up if it is there and then re-add it.

  • Exchange email on iPad quit working

I have been able to receive and send email through my Exchange server internally to our work network and while at home since i first got my iPad 1 and iPad 2.  Yesterday it quit working internal to our work network where the Exchange server is located but it still works when connected to my home network.  I put my iPhone in airplane mode and turned on wifi and it works okay so I dont believe its our work network.  Did the iOS 5 update when it first came out and didnt have a problem then.

Went to Apple,,,its fixed. You can do it at home. Go to settings-----general----reset---Reset All Settings.
Nothing is erased, but you have to redo your wallpaper picture in settings, re enter all saved passwords and username on saved sites. Turn back on bookmark folders, but all saved sites are still there. It doesn't erase anything permanently. He thought he was going to have to do a master reset. He did not. The master reset to factory settings is ERASE ALL CONTENT...DO NOT PUSH THAT!!!!!
    CHOOSE RESET ALL SETTINGS.

  • IOS6...exchange email account problems....iPad

I just installed iOS6 on my iPhone 4 and "new iPad"....had a lot of issues with icloud but seemed to have resolved those issues. However, my exchange email and hotmail live account will not sync on my iPad. The iPhone appears to have adapted well, but the iPad will not sync email with either account. I actually went as far as deleting both accounts on the iPad and re-installing. Upon installation the iPad downloads all email, but still will not push and sync future messages. Any ideas?!?!

    UPDATE!
I think it has something to do with the iCloud. It appears that when I am able to view the storage data in the iCloud, the email push / sync works fine. However, for unknown reasons, sometimes the iPad looses availablilty to iCloud. At that point, the push / sync no longer works. I have to shut off and reboot the iPad in order for it to reconnect with iCloud.
I'm not sure why the iCloud is affecting hotmail and microsoft exchange email accounts, but it appears that this is when the function no longer works.
Is anyone else having this same issue?

  • Ipad mini 3 can't sync with microsoft exchange email (iphone 6 can)

I have an iPhone 6 and iPad mini 3 (verizon). Both are set up the exact same. At work, I am able access Microsoft Exchange email using the iPhone mail app with wifi. (I work underground and have no access to cell service) However, the iPad Mini will not allow me to access my email over wifi using the mail app.
Here is the tricky part. 1)wifi works perfectly on the iPad Mini for all other functions (safari, other apps, etc.). 2)when I get home (or anywhere else) the iPad mini is able to access my work email without a problem. I am not using my cellular connectivity at home, so it has nothing to do with that.
Nobody at work seems to be able to figure it out. Is it a MAC address issue, IP address or a blocked port? Help me please!
All passwords and other settings are the same on the iPhone and iPad. Also, this is not a gmail exchange account. I already know that gmail does not support new exchange accounts. This is a work hosted email.

Here is what I gather from my reading:
-- delete you exchange account then re-configure.  Shakes things up.
    -- reboot device.
    -- re-install from backup.
-- use microsoft outlook for ipad.  ( some business do not allow.  check.  Why? caches info on amazon cloud. ) You should try as a trial at least.
2)when I get home (or anywhere else) the iPad mini is able to access my work email without a problem.
VPN vs no VPN?  Would seem there is a diff here.
    Re-boot ipad.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears, then drag the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.  page 128 iPad user manual.
force power down if the above give you trouble.
Hold down both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button. Ten seconds or more.  Hold until the Apple logo appears.

I would like to use my work exchange email on my macbook pro.  But I cannot install it.  I have no problem my work email on my iPhone or iPad.  My work IT person does not know what is wrong.  Why I try to set up the email I get the message that it cannot connect to this server.

Try going into System Prefereces then Mail, Cintacts & Calendars then click on the Microsoft Exchange link on the right. Type in your email address and password and allow it to set it up automatically.
Make sure your Mac is updated to the newest version of Mail.
If that still fails then I suggest you switch email clients. I don't care for the built in mail program. IMHO it is very buggy.

  • PDF Attachments in Exchange emails opened in iPad

Would like to know how to consistently make a PDF attachement in an Exchange email shown as an icon; not embedded text in the message body.  We use iPad to open PDF attachments in emails sent from multiple employees.  These attachments are all originally made in Word (Office 2010) on desktops, saved and sent in PDF, and opened in iPad Exchange email accounts.  Some attachments are shown as text embedded in the message body but some others are in an icon at the bottom of the message body.  We would like it to show as an icon and open it with other PDF readers on ipad.  How can we make them to show all in that way?
    Thanks

    Hello,
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''

  • IPad Air 2 won't connect to exchange emails

Hello, I've recently purchased an iPad Air 2 WiFi model. Everything transferred from my iCloud backup from my iPad mini except for 2 of my exchange email addresses I use for work. The emails work everywhere, in my iMac and iPhone 6. I've tried deleted the accounts and setup from scratch, and it looks like it sets up successfully but when I go to the mail app, it shows the inbox but nothing else comes in.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

    Hi Ya'll,
I finally worked out why we don't receive Webmail.
Webmail is restricted to a maximun of 10 partnerships with mobile appliances. Hence, just because you change iPads/iPhones etc., it does not automatically delete these on its server. So if you upgrade  from an iPhone 5s to a iPhone6 or an Air 1 to an Air 2, that does not automatically delete the old appliance.
So here is the message that I got from Webmail:
You have 10 phone partnerships out of the maximum allowed 10 partnerships. After you reach the maximum, you can't create additional partnerships until you delete existing ones from your account. To do so, sign in to Outlook Web App, click Options > Phone > Mobile Phones, and delete any unused partnerships.
If you follow these steps, it should all work just fine.
    thanks,
    Gunaroo

  • HT2480 Ipad mini - exchange email stopped working randomly  Error: "Cannot get mail. The connection to the server failed."

I got an iPad mini over Christmas and have had no issues setting up/managing my email until yesterday. I've had my Exchange email working for almost a month, and yesterday I stopped getting emails and getting the error: "Cannot Get Mail. The connection to the server failed."
I tried resetting the device (multiple times) and deleting and recreating the Exchange account (multiple times). This is getting annoying because it worked fine up until yesterday. I'm not aware of any updates to the device, or any changes that have occurred since yesterday.

Due to a screen issue, I had my iPhone 5 replaced two days ago. I repeated deleted the mail account and kept adding it but this did not make any difference. When I attempted to setup the new phone with my Google (Gmail via exchange active sync) accounts I was receiving this same "Cannot Get Mail" error. From what I was able to gather, this problem should be affecting Gmail accounts set up via Exchange. When originally purchasing the phone I was assisted and directed to set up my Gmail account through Exchange because it had the ability to use "ActiveSync" and push not only mail and calendars, but all of my contacts as well. I found this article regarding the subject.
    http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2413283,00.asp
What it came down to was having to delete my Gmail via Exchange account and separate it into two different accounts, a regular gmail account for my mail and a CardDAV account for my contacts.
Here is what I did. Google is changing their system and for new registrars Exchange ActiveSync will not work so you will be unable to register your account via Exchange and have your mail, calenders, and contacts all pushed together. I find this change really annoying. If you are having problems accessing your contacts after deleting the mail account, like I was, here is the work around.
To circumvent this issue go to Setting > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > Other > Add CardDAV Account: Under server ender google.com, then your email user name and password, then click next to verify the information.
    I hope this helps.

  • IPad / exchange email issue.

My exchange email on my iPad constantly says I have three unread emails.  There are no unread emails on my iphone or iMac outlook mail systems.  Any thoughts how to fix this would be welcome.

Since your mail is tied to the Exchange server and probably an IMAP account there is no way to do this in Airplane mode and remain in sync.

  • Changed my exchange email on work computer (req. every 3 months), now I can't get past incorrect password error on iPad.

I'm required to change my exchange email password every 3 months on my work computer.  Now I can't get past the incorrect email error on my iPad.  It won't accept my new or old exchange password and won't let me get past the error to do anything else on my iPad.  Hitting cancel doesn't help, the error just comes back a second later, so my iPad is useless for anything else and I can't get to Settings to either enter the new password for the account or delete and re-enter the account. Is there some kind of soft reset I can do? Any other suggestions?

I saw some other posts on the web and completely powered off of the iPad.  Then turned it on again and was able to quickly go to Settings and update the password.  So this is no longer an issue for me.  Just a pain that this is what I'll have to do every three months when I have to change my exchange password again.

  • Exchange email slow

have work exchange email connected to:
    iphone; ipad; macbook air (latest os);
    no problem...
    new imac (newest os)...
    downloads exchangeemail very slowly...painfully...
a new email will hit the 3 above devices...but not the imac...may show up after a few hours...
    settings identical to macbook...
ethernet connection...internet transfer speeds are normal...

Hi, this has worked for a few...
Though all of these steps may or may not be needed, I'm including them all.
Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712
    10.7 & 10.8…
System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.
    10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x instructions...
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
For 10.5/10.6/10.7/10.8, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
(There may be better or faster DNS numbers in your area, but these should be a good test).
    Click OK.

  • Exchange 2013 email on ipad

I have exchange 2010 server and I have brought Exchange 2013 online & I'm in the process of upgrading to 2013.
I have ipads in the organisation with no issues getting iPads to receive email when offsite from exchange 2010.
When I move a mailbox to the exchange 2013 server the iPad can no longer get mail.
The external name for the server is identical to the one used in exchange 2010 but iPad won't get mail.
    What have I missed?
OWA is working fine externally via the same server name as I use with my iPads.
I have since installed the OWA App on to my iPad & managed to get mail via that app.
Is there a way of getting mail using the apple mail app?

    A couple of ideas:
    1) Sometimes when you use activesync devices (like an iPad), you need to check user accounts to make sure inheritable permissions checkbox is checked. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2579075 This
can happen when users are moved to the next version of Exchange.  I've seen this with Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2013 migrations.
    2) Have you transitioned your CAS traffic from 2010 to 2013?  Exchange 2010 cannot proxy traffic from Exchange 2010 to 2013.
    http://www.expta.com/2014/01/exchange-2013-client-access-coexistence_28.html
Traffic needs to flow from external to Exchange 2013 to Exchange 2010.
So let us know what your traffic flow is for HTTP, HTTPS and SMTP.
