Strategy 50- Assembly's Dependent Requirement Grouping

hi Gurus,
MRP settings of materials I am using is as under
1.FG-- Strategy-50-----Availability check: CH -
Indiv Collec ind : 2 ---Consumpt mode : forward/ backward with 30 days each
2.--Level-1 SFG--
Strategy-50 -
Availability check: CH -
Indiv Collec ind : 2 ---Consumpt mode : forward/ backward with 30 days each
3.--Level-2 SFGNo StrategyAvailability check 02---Indiv Collec ind : 2 ---Consumpt
My requirement is to maintain PIR for level-1 SFG...after providing PIR of SFG level-1 and performing MRP run. Planned orders are created agains the dependant requirement of Level-2 SFG which are drawn from PIR of SFG level-1. Using strategy50 i m not able to convert planned orders of SFG-Level 1 into process order on the other hand Planned orders of SFG level-2 are convertible into process order, which is the desired functionality.
Now if i create a sales order of the FG following results appear.
at SFG level-1
- Unconvertible Planned Orders created remain unchanged.
- PIR is not effected
- Depandant requirement is created for the quantity exploded from FG sales order and corresponding planned order is also created which is convertible.
"Desired result is: PIR of SFG level-1 should be consumed "
at SFG level-2
two seprate planned orders are created, one against the PIR of SFG level-1 and second agains the dependant requirement of the sales order created for FG ( i.e. FG--> SFG level -1 > SFG level>2)
Desired Result is
one netted off planned order to be created at this level..i.e. the planned order quantity should be increased only if the dependant requirement of sales order exceeds the dependant requirement coming from PIR of SFG level-1.

hi,
use the strategy 50 only for FG,
For sfg and raw materials leave the strategy as blank.
if you use strategy 50 for sfg,the planned orders created would be unconvertible, order type VP.so only use strategy 50 for fg.
this will solve your issue.

  • Dependent requirement grouping in SCM Product heuristic

    Hi,
    How to group dependent requirement?
Example - SFG (Semifinished) order created with Lot size =1
dependent demand created  - for child part with lot = 1
Purchase requisition created for child part with lot size >1 (periodic lot size)
are any method to aggregate dependent requirent?
    Regards
    lav Mishra

    Hi Lav Mishra,
Other method to aggregate dependent requirement is to have minimum
    and maximum lot size.
When you are using period lot size, you need to put check against
"start of lot size grouping" indicator in procedure tab of Lotsize
    in material master of APO

  • Strategy for dependent requirements.

    Hi Experts,
    I am working in a MTS scenario,where 'X' is the Header Material & 'Y' its Assembly(with small sub-assemblies inside).
Now 'X' is produced on order as well as some std.ratings forecasted.Basically strategy '40' (Planning with final assembly).
Assembly 'Y' is produced for stock(in anticipation of incomind orders for 'X') as well as sold.
Planning is done basically for 'X' as well as 'Y' in the PIR Planning table.
My question is :Header material 'X' is given strategy '40'.What about 'Y' ? since it is also being sold & kept in stock for 'Y'.
My concern is when i plan individually  for 'Y' its dependent requirements should get generated.
So what should be the startegy for 'Y'.
    Please advise.
    Points assured.
    Best Regards
    Afroz

Usually in this scenario we use strategy 70 for Y
What is the advantage of 70 is,
You can plan 70 weel in advance, example- let us say you planned 100 TO for Y, Run MRP and start producing Y,
Now let us say there is any dependent requirement from X, let us say 75 TO, then  the PIR will be come 100-75 ie 25 TO. Hence you have
    PIR = 25 TO
    Dep req from X = 75 To
Total requirement still is still 100 TO.

  • Planning of Dependent Requirements for BOM Components in Make to Order scen

Hi Friends - I want to execute a full cycle Make to Stock Scenario with Materials planning using MRP.
The scenario will include BOM Components with Routing.
The process flow I want to execute -
    1. Create a Sales Order for a Finished Product (Product should have a BOM for Production)
    2. Do the product Materials Planning for the Sales Order through MD50
    3. Get all the dependent material requirements (both for products as Planned Order and also for BOM Components - all the BOM components should also be planned)
    4. Convert Planned Order for Product to Production Order
    5. Convert Planned Orders for BOM components to Purchase Requisition
    6. Confirm Production Order
To execute this I have done the following
    1. I have created a Material Master data for Finished Product (FERT).
    2. I have assigned Item Category Group - NORM, and General Item Category group as NORM
    3. I have assigned MRP Type PD in MRP 1 View and Strategy Group 20 (Make to Order Production) in MRP 3 View.
    4. Now created a Universal (Type 3) BOM for the product with one material component.
    5. Now also created a Routing for the Material with two operations having PP01 a control key.
    6. Now created a standard sales order for the product.
    7. Executed the MD50 for the Sales Order Item.
Now where do I find the BOM components for this material in the Sales Order?
After executing the planning Run MD50 I am only getting the requirements for Product only. I can't see any dependent requirements for the BOM components.
How do I make sure that the BOM components are also planned while the product is planned?
I have checked the component Stock Requirement List - there are no requirements generated from the Sales Order Product BOM.
Pls help me on this. How to do this so that the raw material components are also planned?
    Thanks
    Purnendu

Hi Dhaval, Sandeep, Ashok - Thanks a lot for your replies.
I have checked the Planned Order Created through Planning Run.
If I click on the Components Tab I am getting following message
    No material components were determined
    Message no. 61027
    Diagnosis
Until now, no BOM explosion has been carried out or no BOM has been created for this material yet.
    Procedure
Either explode the bill of material for this material, or
create the components manually by processing the planned order in change mode.
If I try to explode the BOM through Header Menu - Edit> Explode BOM
I am getting the same message.
If I click on the Bill of Material Tab - I am getting the same above messge.
Ashok - I have tried both the Selection Method -
Nil - Selection by Order Quant.
1 - Selection by Explosion Date
    But with no effect.
    Waiting for your advice.
    Thanks and warm regards

  • BOM Explosion/dependant requirements

    Dear All,
I have a concern regarding the "MRP 4" view in MM.
    BOM/Explosion
    Individual / Collective requirements
    "MRP 3" view
    Availability Check
    Availability Check (Daily / Individual)
I would like to know the effect of these settings clearly with an example please.
    Thank you in advance

    Hi,
    1. The Individual Collective indicator 1/2 indicates how to club the dependent requirements either Individula Processing or Collective Processing.
This is generally used in MTO Scenario.
Here, For eg., you have 2 FERT Materials, in that 1 component say xyz is same.
If you want to club the requiremnts for for xyz for both the sales orders then you need to select 2.
By defult system will create PurReq for xyz as Sales Order/Customer Specific.
    2. Now the Availability check:
Specifies whether and how the system checks availability and generates requirements for materials planning.
The availability check can be carried out in MRP for the depedendent requirements. This means that the availability check can directly check whether sufficient material is available for the production of the assembly. The availability check is initiated from planned order processing. It is not carried out automatically in the planning run for each requirement of an assembly.
Checking Group and Checking Rule clubbed together forms the Checking control..
    Hope this helps..

    Siva

  • Dependent requirements not clearing up

    Hi gurus,
I was wondering if someone could throw some light on this strange behavior. I tried to check all settings and it did not make any sense to me. we have a material A and material B. material A is the component in the BOM of Material B. We get sales orders for material B. I see in the document flow of sales order of material B that it was PGI'ed yesterday and we have MRP job NETCH that runs everynight. I do not understand why the MRP element with CUS ORD still shows up in MD04 for material B and as a result the dependent requirements also shows up for material A in MD04. what could be the problem. Oh and by the way we use strategy group of 52 on the material master for B.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Ravi

    Hello Ravi
Take a look on the following documents that I wrote about the most frequent issues on MD04:
    MD04: Problems with sales orders
    Frequent issues on MD04
If the sales order itself is still displayed on MD04, you should try to run report SDRQCR21 to check for inconsistencies.
If the sales order itself is not displayed on MD04, but the sales order special stock is displayed on MD04, you should take a look on note 1723507.
If you still cannot solve the issue, please provide a screenshot of MD04.

  • Conversion of Planned order to PR and Dependent Requirements

    Hello Everyone,
I had two issues to be dealt with..
    1. When i run my MRP run for a specific plant i do not want the system to automatically convert planned orders to Purchase requisitions for specific material in specific plant. How do i Configure the same?
    2. I use planning strategy 40 for the header material. During MRP run dependent requirements are automatically  raised for lower level components. But how does the user know which planned order is generated for which higher level order?
Moreover, since the same raw material is used in multiple  finished  materials, a single planned order is raised for the same raw material. This makes it all the more complex.
I think Individual/ Collective requirement does not help in this case because i am using stategy group 40 which is a MTS strategy.
Any help in both these cases would be greatly appreciated..
    Sincerely,
    Aji

    1) Select the indicator "3"- Planned Orders in the MRP Screen or in a Variant you use to schedule the MRP
    2) Under a make to stock scenario, requirements are summarized in a planned order (or many, according to the lot size key). But in general as the stock is generic and not customer-specific, there is no assignment of planned order to a given customer.

  • Dependant requirements

    Hi Gurus,
One quick question about BOM not generating dependent requirements. e.g If I have a BOM1 and Components of BOM1 are P1 and P2. and If P1 is a BOM as well components are P3 and P4.
If I create a Planned Independent requirement for BOM1, MRP should create 2 Planned order 1 for BOM1 and 2 for P1 (both materials are In-house, Strategy Group is 40. I am NOT seeing 2 planned order I only see Planned order for BOM1. kindly help is there something wrong which I am doing. Thanks

    Shani,
To recap, it sounds like you have two BOM structures:
    BOM1 > P1, P2
    P1 > P3, P4
You create a PIR for BOM1.  You run MRP.  MRP creates a planned order for BOM1, and no other planned orders are created.
I will assume you did not use MD03 when you ran MRP.  I will assume that your MRP types (all 5 parts) are not a consumption type such as V, but a demand type such as P or M*.
    a.  Look at MD04 against P1 and P2.  Do you see dependent requirements from the planned order for BOM1?  Do these dependent requirements reduce the available quantity of P1 to 'less than zero'?
    b.  Manually create a planned order for P1.  Any errors/warnings?
If the answers to 'a'  are yes, and the answer to 'b' is no, then you probably have a planning file problem.  Create a planning file entry for all 5 parts. MD20.  Delete your planned orders and try again.

  • Dependent Requirements Planning

    Hey Gurus,
I have a situation in which I have two materials that are planned with Independent requirements but also have dependent requirements against them.  these two materials are 6001116 and 6001771.  I have set the MIXED MRP indicator to "1", planning strategy "40" and MRP Dep. requirements as "1".
6001116 is not planning the dependent requirements and is only being planned by the independent requirements.  6001771 is planing both the dependent requiremnets and the independent requirements even though I have set the MRP Dep. requirements to "1".  The only difference between these two materials is that 6001116, is a made in house product and the 6001771 is a purchased product.
I can't think if anything else that would control this to put me in this situation.  Do you guys have any ideas for me or things that I should check to make sure that this is working correctly?  I thought it was only the Dep requirements indicator that controlled the planning of independent reqs.

    Dear,
    You donot want dependent requirements
to be created" for your components when MRP is run
    There are three Options:
    First Option:
For the all respective components in MRP 4 view Input "1" for MRP Dep.Reqts
    Second Option:
In the Basic Data 1 view maintain the X-Plant Matl Status maintain "01"(Blocked for Procurement/Whse)
    Third option,
You can set the MRP type in material master as 'ND' (not planned) (MM02 > MRP1)
Then Planned orders/Purchase requistions will not be created for the components

  • MRP: how to segregate the planned orders by dependent requirements

    Hello SAP Guru's,
I would like to know if this is possible to make the MRP work is this way:
    - generate global planned orders (by date) for several dependent requirements, for inhouse production;
    - AND generate individual planned orders for each dependent requirement, for external procurement;
For the moment, it is grouping the quantities of all the dependent requirements to generate a unique planned order by date.
But we would like to get separate planned orders for each dependent requirements that are externally procured.
Do you think it is possible to do so? and if yes, how?
Thanks in advance for your help on this subject.
    Regards,
    Rudy

In MD04 the demand n supply that is seen is considered as plant segment. In some cases when you plan demand n supply for a given storage location separately it is called as SLoc segment, also if you're working with MRP areas then its called mrp area segment, likewise for project & sales order.
In short it is just a way MRP would do its planning. In normal cases, the demand n supply is in plant segment, so in this segment the least resolution that you can work with is a day, so all demand on a given day is clubbed together and a supply proposal is made (depending on the lot size).
If you want further split on a given day, then MRP needs some way to identify the difference & this is provided by the special stock segment such as project segment. To see how it works, if you're working with PS module, ask your PS colleague to create a demand for the material from different projects for a given day. Then in MD04 you will see each project demand show up in different segment & when you run MRP, you will see the results.
I guess more than me writing quite a lot out here, a simple test at your end should help clarify... good luck

  • Consolidated List of Dependent requirements

    Dear friends
I have entered three months PIR (for nearly 200 products) FGs in MD61. I need to take a print / list of dependent requirements (child requirements) separately to send my internal material supplying departments for their planning. any tcode available to take consolidated dependent requirement monthwise? or we need to go for ABAP. Kindly advise me.
    Thanks & regards
    V.Senthilkumar

    Dear anand
Thanks for your reply MD46 is giving the stock coverage days and plant stock. Actually I need generate a dependent requirement quantities with plant stock for a given planning period.
MD47 t-code is for product group, in our case product groups are not used, we are going by PIR based planning.
Still my problem is not resolved

  • MRP planning - dependent requirements

    Hi all
I have an assembly A1 which has a component C1. The assembly can be procured from a vendor or can be produced using component C1. C1 is always procured. I am entering independent demand at A1 and C1. I do not want the dependent requirement from A1 to appear on C1. Is there a way I can stop the dependent requirements on C1.
    thanks a lot

    Hi John,
Create a BOM Explosion Type in Customization, in which you flag the check box
    "Plng Off".
Now you assign this Explosion Type in the Item Details screen of the component C1 in the BOM of A1.
    It will fulfill your requirement.

  • Planning Strategy 81 - Assembly order

    Hello,
My requirement is as follows :-
On  creation of Sales  order Planned order get trigger.
Any changes in sales order should reflect in Planned order.
Any changes in dates of planned order must get reflect in Sales order.
For this I am using planning strategy 81ie Assembly order. If i do changes in sales order the planned order is changed.
But if i change planned order dates system gives message "Assembly order, changes are transferred to Sales Order"
but if i check the sales order there are no changes.
Any one please show some light on this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Abhijit

    Hi Abhijit,
    1. Kindly check the setting for hte requirement class in the ovzg.
    2. in this check if hte no update is selected.
    3. As per your requirement no update should be empty
    Kindly check and confirm.

  • Dependent Requirement Reduction

    Hello All,
While posting the backflushing, I mant the system to automatically reduce the dependent requirement for the materials ( for MRP) .
Plz help me with any settings which will clear the reservations automatically while backflushing

    Hello All,
    Thanks for your replies.
The scenario is, My PIR is 100 KG for a Finished Good ( FG). A planned order has been generated for this PIR, also it generated a planned for 100 Kg of the FG's component.
Now I have converted the planned order to process order and confirming it for 10 Kg, by backflushing 10 Kg of  the component.through COR6
Also I'm doing GR for 10 Kg through MB31.
Now in the MD04 list, the PIR has been reduced to 90 Kg. ( as per strategy 11).
But even after the next MRP Run the Raw material dependent requirement is showing as 100 Kg.
But I expect the system, aslo to reduce the dependent requirement. Please suggest any solution for this.
    Regards
    Mahesh

We have to create multiple specification for one MIC --> ECC 6.
    We did the following activities.
1.Inspection Type 89 --> Multiple Specification is activated in customizing - Default Values.
    2. For the material 1259, Inspection Set up - for the Inspection Type 89 carried out in QM View  of Material Master.
Multiple spec is activated in Material Master also.
    3. Inspection Plan is created.MIC
    4. I HAVE CREATED THE INSP. PLAN --> GROUP 236 AND COUNTER 1 USING QP01.
5.I HAVE ASSIGNED THE MIC --> TESTQC  TO THE OPERATION.
    6.In customizing,
QM --> Quality Planning --> Inspection Planning --> General --> Multiple Specification
For the OBJECT TYPE 01 --> COUNTRY,
       I HAVE ASSIGNED 4 COUNTRIES --> (1) BAHRAIN (2) DENMARK (3) FRANCE AND (4) GERMANY.
7.Now I want to create the Multiple specification using the Eng. Work Bench --> EWB.
