Submitting InfoPath form twice

Here's my problem:
I have an InfoPath form created. A user fills out the form, then selects the "Approver". They then hit submit and the form is sent via e-mail to the "Approver". Once the "Approver" reviews the form, they then hit submit - I want
it to then go to ANOTHER user (well - its a DL, but same thing). The way it is currently set up is once the "Approver" hits submit, it sends it back to him/herself.
Does anyone know some simple instructions / steps to get this accomplished?

You'll need to create some sort of form status and when the approver submits, switch that form status to the next stage.
This book walks through the entire process:

    Hi,
We had the same problem with InfoPath.
After analysis of servers,it turns out that
the anonymous user authentication has been enabled on
    the web application server
via IIS and not via SharePoint
    (unsupported configuration), causing
    side-effects on some queries which
    calls to forms.
    We disabled anonymous access.This desactivation
causes the functioning of forms again.

  • Creating a link to specific view in a submitted InfoPath form via C#

    Hello,
I have an InfoPath form that is submitted by a user, then the c# executes logic on a button click which is to send approver a link to a approver view within the submitted form(my company is
not allowing use of Work flows).
I have a problem creating this link namely because SharePoint changes the patter of a string that is used in creating a form name(Username and now() function characters change
    in URL).
Is there an easy way to reference an url to a view in Infopath form via C#
    Thank you.

  • Issues while submitting infopath form

hi, i am using sharepoint online version(office 365). i have created infopath form.published it to the shatrpoint list. while submitting the new  form the previous data got deleted.help to solve this. thanks in adavance

    Hi,
As I understand, when submitting the new form the previous data got deleted.
Can you give me the screenshots when you view and edit the item with InfoPath form in the list?
You could follow the troubleshooting steps below:
    1. Check if there is custom code in the SharePoint list page.
    2. You could change to the default SharePoint form and delete the InfoPath form.
Then republish the InfoPath form. Check if it can work.
    3. You could edit data in another browser to check if the same situation will occur.
    4. You could create another InfoPath form for the SharePoint list to check if it can work.

  • Submitting InfoPath form within folders

    Hello Friends,
I have an InfoPath form library which I'm using it submit data. I have created two folders, Folder 1 and Folder 2. When I navigate to Folder 1 and click on "New Form Document" and submit the form, I want the it to be saved in Folder 1 instead of
    the library
Is there a way to do it?
Do let me know if you need any further explanation

Is there any specific reason to use folders within forms library and submit requests in folders only. Folders are just virtual placeholders under library and you cannot differentiate default content type for folders unless you opt for complex coding.
I can only assume that you have single form for same type data collection and based on some category you're differentiating information.
Instead of creating folders to separate the requests based on some category I would suggest to use views based on metadata filters and you can give users a good navigation UI OR Create different form library to resolve the conflict. This is save you
    from lot of custom code.

  • Submitting InfoPath form via Outlook Address book.

    Hi there,
Is it possible to have an info path form used so that there is a submit button and the user is able to choose the email address of their choice to have the form sent? Right now I only see the option of configuring a data connection with a pre filled in email
    address.
Example. I create a form. A user opens it and needs to submit it to one person in our organization, possibly from the Outlook address book.
I see a people picker but that does not allow you to submit.
    Thank you.

    Hi SarahShay,
You can use a people picker to store the people that you want to email, then create a submit button configured to send the form by e-mial to the people of the people picker.
More information, please refer to the link:

    Hi,
I am trying to read info Path form repeating table data in Visual studio workflow.
could anyone elaborate me in brief how to loop through repeating table and read all rows value one by one in workflow.
any help would be more then welcome.
    Thanks...

    Hi Rohan,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to create a Visual Studio workflow to get data from info path repeating table.
I suggest you can submit Repeating Table to a SharePoint List and then you can create a .NET workflow to read data from the SharePoint List.

  • How to submit InfoPath form data to multiple SharePoint lists at one time?

    Hi,
I'm looking for a way to submit certain data in InfoPath form to separate SharePoint lists at the same time. I have a form that has two views with many data in them. I want to keep these data in separate SharePoint list besides keeping them in the XML. I know that you can submit to a form library using SharePoint document library data connection, but I'm not sure if you can use several data connections for submitting data to multiple SharePoint lists. Is it only possible to do using code? If yes, can anyone show a sample. I have never coded in InfoPath, though I used C# a lot in .Net.
    Thank you!Regards,
    R.D.M.

This is an old thread but I tripped over a codeless method to do this with OOB InfoPath 2010 and SP 2010.
Assuming your main InfoPath form is published to a document library with the promoted fields that you want to see.
Publish your form to a new document library to capture the secondary data fields that you want separated out.
Using the Publishing Wizard do the following:
Go to – File then Publish
Select SharePoint Server “ Publish form to a SharePoint Library”
Enter location of your SharePoint or InfoPath Forms Services Site:
accept the default in this field from the first published event
Next screen, keep the default or change it, Form Library, Site Content Type or Admin Approved
Next screen, What do you want to do?
    Create a new form library
Add new document library name and description
Next screen, Remove all promoted fields not applicable to the new library and add all of the ones you want to see data for.
    Click Next and Publish
Come back into the form: If you don’t have buttons added directly to the form to submit or update, add them.
Create a new Action rule on the button
Label the rule to keep it straight
    Condition, occurs when button clicked
    Add action, Submit data
Use data connection to the second library created
Create a second new Action rule on the same button
Label the rule to keep it straight
    Condition, occurs when button clicked
    Add action, Submit data
Use original data connection to the library
Then you can add another action to close the form or do whatever you need.
Republish the form to both libraries to set the template for both.
File – Publish – SharePoint Server
Select Secondary library from drop down follow the rest of the prompts
Follow step 5a again, select Primary library from drop down, Add back in all of the promoted fields needed for the primary library and follow the prompts.
DOCUMENT YOUR FORM WELL FOR MAINTENANCE
Special considerations, your primary library needs a unique ID to reference in your secondary library.
Your secondary library will need a unique ID that is not related to the primary if you are going to store multiple records for a single primary library reference.
    Example: One form, multiple updates.

  • Updating a secondary datasource to a Sharepoint list via infopath form rules

Using SharePoint 2010 and InfoPath 2010 I created a form that prior to submission it gets an integer value from a separate SharePoint list via a secondary datasource.  Just before the rule that submits the form to a document folder via the
main datasource I increment the integer value and try to write it back to the secondary datasource I got it from.  I know that I have the correct value.  That is, it is reading from the data source the correct integer information and it is incrementing
it in the form but when it writes the value back to the same column in the same secondary datasource it doesn't give any indication that it didn't work.  But when I look at the list of the secondary data source I see that the integer value is
    not updated.

    Hi Jonas,
You can attach your Excel doucment into InfoPath form and send InfoPath form to a custom web service. Then you can parse the Excel data and combine the Excel data and additional fields into SharePoint list in the customized  web service.

  • InfoPath form load rule is not checking all the rows in form library

    Hi,
    Requirement:
We have a form library named "HR Annual Review". In the InfoPath form we have two buttons "Save" and "Submit". User is allowed to Save multiple times and only once using Submit button. The file name of form library "HR
Annual Review" will be stored in the format “<username>+<mm>+<dd>+<yy>.xml”. Say for example, an user named Mike Walt submitted a form then the file name will be as “MikeWalt012314.xml”. If the same user (Mike Walt)
submits the form and tries to open the form for subsequent edit, then we need to show a view which has an error info saying “The Appraisal is already submitted for the current appraisal cycle”.
    Solution we tried:
To achieve the above requirement, we tried using InfoPath Form Load and add a rule to check whether the combination of current user name and the year already exists in the filename column of the form library. But the rule we applied is not checking all the
rows in the form library. The rule is always checking the first row of the form library.
    What we need:
We need the validation using InfoPath rule or some other way/solution to check whether the combination of current login username and current year file already exists in the form library.
    Thanks in advance.
    Srivignesh J

    Hi Srivignesh,
Submit button Uses the Main Data connection to submit the data to the list. This is what you are using and naming the file in the format. You can create secondary data submit that will update the exiting item in the list. With this, you don't have to create
any rules to check all the rows which is also not possible in OOB InfoPath.
Once you have the two data connection, hide the toolbar from the form and display these two on the button. For The Submit button, apply the rule to hide the button if created by is not empty. For Save button, apply the rule to hide the button if Created
By is empty. This way, when a new form is created, you will see the Submit button, and when the user have to update the form, they will see Save button. Hope it help.s

  • Hiding submit button from an Infopath form in a Sharepoint Library document

I have a Sharepoint document library that is setup to collect submissions from a form that faces the public.  Because it faces the public it needs to have the standard/familiar submit button.  The problem is that when the form is submitted to the
document library and the document is reviewed, it still contains the button - which will be confusing/complained about by staff.
I attempted to use a hidden boolean field that would switch to "True" when the submit button is clicked and then use conditional formatting to hide the button before submitting through the data connection.  But apparently, there is no way
to move the conditional formatting rules after the action rules that make the boolean swith.
I then tried to switch to a new view that was identical to my Main view before submitting but the button is still appearing on the submitted documents in the form library.
I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this?  I have to think I'm missing something obvious.

    Please try this -

  • Infopath forms are not displaying in the list

    Hi,
I have created an info path form template after customizing a list form using infopath designer. But it is behaving weird. After submitting the form it is not displaying in the lists allitems view rather it is displaying from designer but directly
under the list not in the items folder.
    1) Any idea why this is happening?
    2) What is the use of NaN.xml? why it gets created in the list?

Yes, it sounds very simply, but there is a very tiny little broken piece causing lots troubles.
It’s tiny piece, so the solution is going to be very simple. On the other hand, it’s hard to find out because it is very tiny broken piece.
I have feeling that you made a mistake while saving/publishing or filename in submit option (I don’t think List InfoPath form let you set up different submit option).
Sometimes, it is much faster and easier to re-do it again. I recommend you to following the article below. You can skip most but please pay attention on the start (beginning of Part 2 – Customizing)) and on the end (Part 4 - Publishing)
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/gg180738(v=office.14).aspx
Once you follow the best practice written in the article and make it work, then you may realize the difference and mistake.
