System allows posting of Scrap without even confirmation of an order

Hello All
Am having a concern here, I checked if the system will allow me to post scrap witout confirming the order, ideally/logically the system shall not allow to do so becuase untill & unless the order is confirmed how the scrap would be generated. But the system allows the posting of scrap witout even confirmation of the order. Kindly suggest me how can i control this behaviour, I dont want that system shall allow to confirm the scrap untill & unless the order is confirmed. Waiting for your vaulable inputs & suggestion.
Regards,
J K Tharwani

Hi Jitender,
Why do you maintain scrap in the BOM as negative qty?
You can give scrap qty in CO11N (mvt 261) or you can scrap the parts using MB1A + 551. You can book extra consumption by MB1A + 261 + PrdOrd reference.
By-product is tend to be maintained in BOM with negative qty.
Of course my knowledge is very limited but I've never heard about such method to scrap materials.
Thanks,
Csaba

Now error which has been noticed is that without generating  PGI, system is allowing to make excise invoice in the system. Requirement is that system would not allow to make invoice without generating PGI in the system. Anybody can help in this matter.

  • System allows for closed WBS to be assigned on sales order!

    Hi Experts,
I have a WBS that has user status of 'Closed', however the system still alows a user to assign on that sales order that closed WBS element.
How can I make the system NOT allow a user to assign a closed WBS on a sales order?
    Thanks

    Hi
Ok, I just tried to select business txn Assign order/WBS, flagged 'Forbidden. But it still allowed the user to assign that WBS to a sales order.
Do I still need to select business transaction 'Complete' and flag the 'SET' radio button, to prevent the WBS from being assigned to sales order? Or should forbidding Assignment Order/WBS be enough?
    Look forward to your responses.
    Thanks

  • Allow posting customer downpayment without tax code

    Dear colleagues,
I have an scenario where customer downpayments can be tax relevant and non tax relevant. I have costumized the G/L account with "*" as a tax category and the tick "posting without tax allowed". Nevertheless when i execute the transaction F-29 the system always requires me a tax code to post the downpayment. I am using the classical "a" as special GL indicator. Does Anybody know how can i make the tax code field entry optional when i am posting a downpayment? I know how i can make dissapear the field  (just leaving the tax category as "blank") but i want the field as an optional field, nor supressed neither required.
    Thanks in advance
    Marc

I had already done it and it did not work either. It seems like downpayments could not be optional taxed, if you leave the tax category of the reconciliation account in blank when you post a downpayment the tax fields dissapear whereas if you inform it, the tax code field in F-29 turns to be a required field. It is a pitty! I dont know if somebodoy can put some light on it or confirm my afirmation.
    Kind regards
    Marc

  • GR without GI/ Confirmation

Hi, Is it possible to do GR without GI or Confirmations in production orders of standard SAP. If so advise the settings required?

Yadav is right! Standard system allow you to do GR even you did not perform the GI and Confrimation....
You have to go through with lot of pain if your requirement is not to do GR unless GI & Confirmation is already done.
    Enjoy!

  • WBS status locked - system allows consumption

    Dear Experts ,
I need expert opinion on the following two points.
    1. My WBS status is locked. But the system allows consumption of materail (ie 261 movement) against production order assigned  to the WBS
    2. My WBS status is locked. But the system allows to create schedule lines against the scheduled agrrement assigned to the WBS.
Due to the above two phenomeneon , the system is allowing comitment & incurrence to happen even for closed WBS.
Are the functionality described above are part of standrad PS process.
If yes, then how to tackle these points. If no, then is there any PS configuration for providing checks.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vishal Murmoo

    Hi Khader Sir/ PSR
    Thanks for the reply .
As suggested by PSR , the user status should be used to prohibit business transcation . In my case for Order Confirmation , Goods Receipts & Schedule delivery .
I made the configuration chnages for user status ( locked), which prohibits all the above mentioned transcation. This user status is mainatined for the concerned WBS .
But still i found that it is actaully not working .The system allows  Order Confirmation , Goods Receipts & Schedule delivery .
against WBS having user staus locked.
Is it that i have missed some configuration.
Need experts suggestions on this matter

  • Urgent: Why system allows the scrap confirmation more than PrdOrd Qty.

    Dear All,
I am facing client sensitive problem regarding scrap confirmation at CO11N.
As I am having Production Order of 15 qty & having 3 Operation.
Now I have confirmed the first Operation with 15 qty as Yield.
for second operation I confirmed 10 qty yield & 5 as scrap.
for third operation system is allows me to confirmed the 15 qty as a yield. That's should not be allowed logically & practically as well.
& system is allowing to confirmed 'N' no of qty of scrap.i.e more than Production order qty.
Please give your valuble suggesting to clear this issue.
& exact terminology behind the scrap confirmation.
Your immediate reply is highly appreciated
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vijay Mankar

    Hi vijay,
    please try this
    Quantity Calculation for Milestone/Progress Confirmation
Specifies that for milestone or progress confirmations, the quantities (yield, scrap) of automatically generated confirmations are calculated without taking into account the scrap percentage rate of each operation.
If you do not set this indicator, then the planned scrap percentage rate of each operation is taken into account when calculating the confirmed total quantity. In the generated confirmations, the proportional scrap is added to the yield.
If you set this indicator, then the automatic confirmations are posted with the same total quantities as the the milestone or progress confirmation. Scrap is posted as yield in the automatically generated confirmations.
    Example
24 pieces of scrap are planned for an order of 124 pieces. The planned operation quantities are:
    Operation 10 124 pieces, 10% scrap (13 pieces)
    Operation 20 111 pieces, 5% scrap (6 pieces)
    Operation 30 105 pieces, 4% scrap (5 pieces)
You enter a milestone confirmation for operation 30 with 48 pieces for the yield and 2 pieces of scrap. The quantities in the automatically generated confirmations are then calculated as follows:
    Indicator is not set
Operation 10 59 pieces, 0 pieces scrap - automatic confirmation
Operation 20 53 pieces, 0 pieces scrap - automatic confirmation
    Operation 30 48 pieces, 2 pieces scrap
    Indicator is set
    Operation 10 50 pieces, 0 scrap - automatic confirmation
    Operation 20 50 pieces, 0 scrap - automatic confirmation
    Operation 30 48 pieces, 2 pieces scrap

  • System allows IM posting while warehouse inventory document activated

We are in the process of counting inventory, and have warehouse inventory documents created and activated via LX16.
However, it is possible to post a goods issue or scrap on the Inventory Managment side, but the warehouse transfer order is blocked as expected.
Why does the system allow a IM material posting to occur if a warehouse count sheet is activated for the bin?

The continuous Inventory functionality is designed that way so without stopping the inventory process you can to the Physical.see the following documents
There are laws that require you to perform a physical inventory at least once during each fiscal year for each storage bin. This physical inventory should check whether the book inventory balance or target stock amount in the system matches the actual stock that physically exists in the storage bin.
In continuous inventory, you distribute the physical inventory for all storage bins over the course of the fiscal year, and can carry out inventories at different times as you require. This means that you can include the warehouse stock by material type and material quantity that exists on the closing key date, even without a simultaneous physical inventory (annual inventory) from the records in the Warehouse Management system (WMS).
For this reason, continuous inventory has the following advantages over annual inventory, which takes place on a key date at the end of the fiscal year:
The effort and costs for the inventory is not concentrated on a certain day or days but is distributed over the entire year. You can better plan the workforce in the warehouse.
You can carry out the inventory at idle times in the warehouse.
Because of the lower inventory efforts at the end of the fiscal year, you can concentrate on creating year-end closing reports.

  • System allows GRs to be reversed after invoices have posted and clear

Users have noticed that it is possible to post a GR, post and clear and Invoice, then reverse the GRs, which is an audibility problem. Previously (possibly before upgrade to ECC 6) this was not possible. Is there any configuration available to change this behavior, or  is it a standard SAP in ECC 6, or if there are unapplied OSS notes that would fix the issue.
I checked transaction code OMBZ and the movement type 102, 106, 122, and 162 do not have a check on them.
Is there another way of preventing the Goods Receipts to be reversed after invoices have been posted and cleared?

  • How to prevent the system to post without Profit Center

    Hi All,
SAP has posted some transactions without profit center being filled, which is causing issue to our profit center reporting.
How can we force the system not to post the document without profit center and how to correct the existing one?
    Regards,
    Servesh

    Hi,
You can pass on the exiting documents to the profit center accounting using transaction code 1KE8
For forcing the system to check profit center, please apply OSS note 1249888:-
    [https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=1249888]
Alternatively, you can define validations. But best is to use this OSS note.

  • Old operating systems allowed you to click on recipients when sending emails without adding a comma after each address. Now with the new and improved system, I have to stop and add a comma after each name. How can I avoid this?

With the new OSX system, whenever I send an email with multiple recipients, I need to physically add a comma after each address. I never needed to do that with all the other older systems, it was done automatically. How can I fix this frustrating glitch?

option discovered in preferences. Really this and any feature that moves deletes or edits a users data should as far as possible be OFF BY DEFAULT. It shouldn't by default and without the users specific say do this dangerous and unnecessary thing without even letting the user know what it's doing!!! And then cause me a few hours (as i'm new to mac) searching for the option so as to switch it off. If i hadn't noticed the status cage declaring that it was copying files then i might never have twigged that this insane thing was occurring. And if i hadn't of noticed i would have been left maintaining the contents of the folder i copied the files to, the folder which as far as i was informed and so believed was also the location of the music files i was playing. How does Apple justify this 'genius' piece of software non-design? Surely it will hurt no one if this was off by default for new users - overall at least i dare say it would cause a lot less distress in the future for the unsuspecting public at large. Thanks for the support.

  • System allowing COR6N after TECO

    Dear experts,
Even after doing TECO of process order, system is allowing me to cancel and redo confirmation in COR6N. Order status is also getting updated as per cancellation and re-confirmation(even though it is having TECO status). Is it a SAP standard or i am doing some mistake??
    Plz suggest....
    Regards,
    Sunit

    Hi,
TECO status is only for logically closing the order where of the fields in the order are displayed but cannot be changed.
If You did TECO system will do the following actions:
    1. The order is not relevant for MRP planning
    2.  Reservations are deleted
    3. Capacity requirements are deleted
    4.  Purchase requisitions for external operations or non-stock materials are deleted
AfterTECO also we can  make postings for the order, material withdrawal or a confirmation can be posted if  not done previously.
